Arrived late, had to pay for TV, Phone, and 3 extra for own bathroom. Place was a state, and the area not very friendly. Would not recommend at all. Don't stay here unless you're desperate or very skint.

This place was absolutely disgusting. When we arrived the staff was all but friendly. They acted like we were intruding and we did not belong there even though we had a reservation. The room was horrible. It was hot and stuffy. The one window that did open we felt we couldn't leave it open because the neighborhood wasn't the best and someone could have easily jumped through and stolen everything while we were sleeping. The bathroom was down the hall. This was worse then the room. My girlfriend and I had to pee in the sink in our room because we could brave the bathroom. In the morning we were woken up at 6 am to the sound of clanking bowls. Apparently our room was right above the kitchen and they were not trying to keep quiet. The housekeepers would scream down the hallways to each other and you could hear every word of their conversation. They had no respect for their guests. To say the walls were paper thin would be an understatement. You could hear a pin drop down the hall. All in all I would have rather stayed in a prison cell then come back to this place again.

Even though I had booked a room through your website at the peckham lodge upon arrival, i was informed the room was unavailable and other alternative arrangements would be made. However they failed to provide me with an adequate room as replacement. Furthermore I am not sure why i was charged against my card given I didnt even get the room i Booked online. Going to London and then Peckham lodge and only then to be told that the room is unavailable is unacceptable.
I was also left in doubt whether they had already charged my credit card, for which I will be checking my bank statement. I did not check-in as they failed to provide me with the room i had booked.

Despite having a feel of somewhere more lightly to have residents opposed to guests the Lodge isnt to bad. The beds were clean and comfortable although the toilets were a little lacking in both cleanliness and pleasantness!
The staff were reasonably helpful, polite and friendly. I dont think Id have been comfortable staying more than a night but for the price and location it makes a good stop over point.
If you do stay here and want a good meal then turn left out of the front entrance (not right!) and walk down Peckham high street for about a mile and youll find a half decent Italian restaurant.
Breakfast at the hotel? Not worth bothering with.
Location ideal for seeing London, hotel very dated in style, read reviews before booking indication was 50/50 for and against, decided to take a chance as we needed to be near greenwich on the following day. Hotel was easy to find, and parking was secure, but only has room for a limited no of vehicles.the staff were helpful and willing to provide us with extra items not in the room.breakfast was to the standard we expected and we have no complaints as regards hygiene. However the tv was unusable, there was a lack of hot water in the evening, only enough for one hot shower, and the morning there was no hot water. The room was warm and we removed the duvet from the cover, the duvet should have been removed and destroyed before we arrived it was not fit for a hotel of any reputation to have provided a duvet in such a poor condition for its clients. As stated above apart from the few unsatisfactory situations, being for warned is to be prepared if i wanted to stay in london again for a brief overnight stoy i would use this hotel again, but hopefully the aforementioned needs would be attended to as the hotel is undergoing slow but progressive refurbishment.

My son and I needed somewhere to stay for one night. I would not have wanted to stay for a second night. Fire safety was appalling, with many fire doors off their hinges and leaning against the wall, and most of the others propped open with fire extinguishers or wedges. Breakfast arrangements were awful, we went to a McDonalds, which I never do.

Considering it's so near central London this place is a bargain if you just need a comfy bed for the night (although it's very basic and fragrant in places). Our en-suite had no light, the shower was a dribble and the hot tap didn't work at all. The area is pretty oppressive at night so not really suitable if you want to venture out late on. That said, I cheerfully put up with it for the price and the staff were very helpful and friendly. They seemed genuinely concerned about the issues with the room and made a note in the morning.

I have never been as shocked as i was upon my arrival at Peckham Lodge, it was almost unrecognisable from the photo on your website. but i told myself 'it's only a stone's throw from the O2 arena, so never mind'. then i went inside!!!!! the staff were certainly pleasant and friendly, but if i had been travelling alone i would not have felt safe even in the foyer! then we were taken to our room, by a very charming and friendly young man i must add, and the shock continued. the room was equipped with a fridge, a hob and enough crockery and cutlery to be a self-catering bedsit. the shower room was barely big enough to stand in, outside of the shower, and the smell of damp was so strong that i left the next day with a sore throat. then, to top it all, instead of being close enough to the venue to walk if desired, the taxi journey to the O2 took over half an hour! i wish i had increased my budget and booked into a familiar hotel chain, the cost would have ended up the same once taxi's were added into the equation. this hotel seems to be a base for contract workers looking for long term accommodation, i would not recommend it, and i will certainly not be staying there again!

Peckham Lodge is an appropriate accomodation if you want a cheap room and don't expect too much. We booked a two bed room for 40 GBP in total for one night, which is pretty cheap compared to the prices they charge in hostels.
Although the toilet flush didn't work in the beginning, and the room-card also didn't work when we came back from our city trip, the staff fixed all the problems immediately. The room was clean but the furniture is not in a very good shape. However, given the low price I would not complain. For breakfast they served toast with butter and marmelade; flakes and tea/coffee were also available.
To conclude, Peckham Lodge is perfect for those who do not want share a room with 20 other tourists like in a hostel, but can accept that their own room is not without flaws.

This hotel was ideal for my trip to the London Marathon as it was only 4 miles from the start. It was only 60 for the night, the bedroom was brand new all just decorated with new bed and bedding, the bathroom had just been fitted with new shower and tiled throughout, there was also a wall mounted flat screen telly with remote. The staff here were excellent and always on hand to help and always very polite. If ever in London again I would stay at the Peckham Lodge this may not be 5 star but it definately does the job.

The hotel exterior flatters to decieve, I wish I had read the reviews before I booked, that was a BIG mistake. The hotels needs a LOT of money spending on it, the rooms are dirty, the heat was intense and I had no choice but to leave the window open all night with constant police/fire and ambulance sirens. The shower head was not attached to anything, so made the experience of showering in a dirty room even worse. The breakfast was cereal or toast and the toaster did not work!!! I couldn't even bother to complain, the whole place was awful, thank goodness it was only one night.

This hotel?????? has to be the worst place i have ever had the misfortune to stay at!!!!! All i can say to anyone who reads these reviews is to leave this page immediately and look for another place to spend your nights, even if it does cost you a little more money, you will thank me for directing you away from this hotel. Even though the pictures on this site of the hotel show a clean room and a pleasant looking exterior, this is a very misleading introduction. When my girlfriend and i arrived at the Peckham lodge we were greated by a receptionist who didn't have the best grasp of the english language and insisted on calling me Mr Stuart rather then Mr Clark, we were then made to wait for about 15 minutes before being shown to our room throught a maze of corridors, which to most intelligent people would be very confusing. We were shown the "kitchen" which consisted of a microwave and a hob, but we had to ask to be shown where the toiletts were, the ones we were shown were dirty, had no lighting working and on closer inspection someone had used the shower curtain to clean their rear ends as there was a lack of visible toilet paper. On investigation we found 4 more toilet and shower rooms, only 2 of which had lighting and only 1 had a fully functioning shower, the others either had no shower head or were broken in some way. On to our room....... what a shambles!!!!! There was a bed, a table, 2 chairs, a wardrobe, a tv and a fridge. The bed was dirty, it looked as though the cover had seen some really interesting action from previous occupants and the cleaning was either not good enough to remove certain stains or just hadnt been done. The table had been set out with coffee sachets, milk, sugar and tea, but there was a severe lack of a kettle, so no hot drinks were consumed. The tv didnt have an aerial and so there was only 1 channel, which just happened to be the snow and fuzz channel. The wardrobe was missing chunks of wood from certain places and one of its handles, i was also able to write the word "FILTH" in the dust on top of the wardrobe. Im guessing its still there, if anyone does decide to stay in room 404. There were holes in the walls, dirty marks all over the place, and what i can only describe as what looked like blood stains on the ceiling. The curtains at the windows when drawn, did not meet, and left a gap of about a foot which we had to eventually pin together with a badge. When we complained to the manager about the state of our room he seemed unconcerned and informed us he would "come and have a look", 25 minutes later a man came to our room stinking of cigarettes to see the curtains and informed us that he would put some material across the gap, i told him this wasnt good enough and we wanted a change of room, he then dissappered and never returned. I went to see the manager again to see what was happening about our room, looking at me like i had not already been to see him and he didnt know what i was talking about, i told him i wanted a room change, he told me the hotel was full and there was nothing he coud do, he was rude and ignorant and really could not have cared less about customer service. When we asked about a kettle and a tv aerial we were told that the store room was locked and couldnt have either. This hotel is not fit for human occupancy and is a slur on laterooms.com' website, if anyone associated with laterooms.com sees this report, you should really consider removing the Peckham Lodge from your listings. It really is THAT bad!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Although Peckham is not such a tourist place (which might be worth warning on the website), the outside of the hotel looks impressive. I hae to admit that my main reasons for selecting this hotel was that it was cheap and not too far from where I needed to be. And really the fact that it is cheap was the only good thing I can say about this hotel. While the exterior of the building is very impressive, the interior is still looks like the institution that it was before it was a hotel. It is obviously in need of maintainance as the all of the shower areas looked shabby with one blocked and full of water and another shower left half repaired. The service was a mixed bag, the reception was quite helpful, but I had to ask them for some towels as these had not been put out, and the member of staff who showed us to our room, neglected to tell us where the showers and bathrooms were (they weren't signposted, nor labelled). The room itself was basic, but otherwise okay.

Basically a hostel with no food available. Quite intimidating being shown to room through a maze of corridors and over a roof. Room was very small, however they managed to fit the toilet in the small shower room which if the shower had worked would have meant everything soaked. Only food available in local area was fast food meaning a walk into Peckham, however some rooms have hot plate and fridge (I know because somebody set the fire alarms off by leaving a tea towel on plate accidentally switched on instead of the fridge.... in another room. After 10 minutes outside we were able to go back, however no fire Brigade attended which was a bit worrying). Breakfast staff very friendly but consisted of toast, apple juice and cornflakes with a cup of hot water to add coffee or tea to as required. If you want basic budget accommodation then this is for you, however for a little more you can get much better.

The neighbourhood was not exactly suited for late-night walks, and the breakfast at the hotel was not that good (One small bowl of corn flakes, two slices of toast with butter for the one and jam for the other and a cop of instant coffee or tea). But besides from that, the hotel was nice. Free WiFi in the lobby and a great service from the employees at the hotel. There is also good bus connections only 10-20 meters from the hotel going straight to the city 24 hours a day, which makes it very suitable for people only wanting a place to sleep, while they explore the real London the rest of the time.

I was offered secure off-street parking which was not something that was given in the description on the web and was a bonus as parking is difficult in this area.

Reception was fine and on first sight room looked OK - clean apart from a dirty carpet and quite modern. Small but who cares for 55. Maze of corridors was a bit intimidating with lots of bags of washing and people hanging about - left to go to a function in town and returned at 3am. Pulled back the bedspread to find unwashed duvet, previous occupant certainly had a productive night. Slept in chair for 3 hours, used the shower which was fine and left without sampling breakfast.

Clean room but TV did not work properly and being the area quite rough I was intending to stay in and watch some telly. I had a single room ( lady on my own) and they gave me a room in the ground floor, with one window without courtains (small window) and right next to the entrance to the building, so I felt a bit unconfortable. Breakfast was continental but it was ok. However it started later than it was supossed to. On the positive note the room had a fridge and a nice working shower.

Hotel was very basic, ensuite bathroom was grotty, water temperature was an issue, the beds were not comfortable the matresses were like lying on straw, although this was a cheap accomodation I would still excpect better cleaniness and comfort so would not stay again.

The hotel was booked through LateRooms as it was the closest available to the O2 arena. Upon arrival we discovered that it was actually a hostel. The rooms were clean, however there was no heating or hot water available for the duration of our stay. The breakfast that is advertised consists of toast or cereal with the residents. I would recommend that everyone avoids this hotel as you are wasting your money and would be better staying somewhere else in the centre of London and travelling to the arena.

Room was a good size and well appointed, with it's own fridge/freezer, sink, and desk. Full kitchen facilities including microwave and oven/hob also available. Website details did not mention though that rooms do not include ensuites and there were about 6 rooms sharing 2 bathrooms (each containing a toilet and shower) in the area we were in - this was not a problem for us though, and there was never a time that a bathroom was not available. Location is fine, not terribly close to any underground stations but a short walk (maybe 5 mins) to Peckham Rye national rail station which is only 3 stops from London Bridge station. Staff were all fantastic, and value for money (at less than 50 pounds per night) was excellent.

It was the only thing available because I did not reserve a hotel early enough (hence late rooms). There was nothing really good about the place other than that I could check out a room. It was far away from everything, making you about an hour's bus to anywhere, and the hotel itself was a pit. Nice facade, but everything from no hot water to sketchy facilities made this one of the worst hotels I have stayed in for the most amount of money.

There was no heating in the room I was allocated and when I enquired about this on check out I was informed that I could have had a electric heater which was available if requested at reception. I would have thought that a a heater of some sort should have been in a room as standard and not available upon request only.
