Ok, here we go. I booked a single room with shared bathroom. I knew there was no lift because it is a historic building. Nevertheless I expected 3 star standards. The bed itself was good and clean. The sink in the room had no plug and it smelled out of it. The cheap curtains were once white, but now a very dark grey with spots. The aluminium frame windows would need maintenance and cleaning too. Unfortunately the pipes of the sink next door go through the room, so every time your neighbour opens the tap you have the gargling noise of the water running through the pipes, day and night. The shared bathroom was cleaned once a day, but the silicon in the shower was largely black from mould and needs replacement. Most of the time the water wasn't draining properly and you had to wait for it to disappear a while in shower and sink in the room. Ok, enough about the room. The breakfast was alright, but when I ordered a tomato with scrambled eggs, I got one out of a can. Never had that one before.
If you like old hotels, you might be happy there. If they kept maintenance and housekeeping up to a 3 star standard, it would have been a faboulos place to stay, but so it was merely a place to sleep.
