This was my first stay at Park Plaza...
This was my first stay at Park Plaza County Hall and I found the whole experience to be the best I have ever had at any hotel I have been to before! I was staying only 10 minutes from where I needed to be and it couldn't have been a better location for me. The views of London from the 10th floor were beautiful at every stage of the day that I looked out of the window and as for hotel customer service, it was second-to-none! Nothing was too much to ask and the food was fantastic and great value for money! The efficiency and professionalism did not outweigh the friendliness of staff and I can't wait to go back...In fact, I'm going to try and stay in all of them!!! Thanks ever so much for making the whole experience one which I shall never forget. I look forward to booking future resevations through Hotels-London and will be recommending you to as many people as I can!!!!

Fantastic customer service. Free upgrade to one of the Penthouse Suites which was fabulous on 14th floor. The hotel was nice, and the staff very helpful. I can never quite get over hotel prices in London, but it was priced well comparatively speaking. The only thing I didn't like was that my room had an internal window (looking out over the foyer and staircases etc) and no outside window.

We got a good deal on the room & then a half price upgrade on arrival to a junior suite which gave us access to the executive lounge. This was well worth it it gave us a 2 room suite which had a sink & microwave. There was crockery & cutlery to make it possible for a peaceful & relaxing night in after traipsing the busy streets of London. The lounge was also a pleasant haven. The air conditioning/heating was not working properly so the room was chill but we were too tired to report it at the time so can't complain it wasn't fixed.
A very busy part of London but very close to the South Bank, London Eye etc so ideal for our purposes

The hotel itself is amazing very stylish rooms...
The hotel itself is amazing, very stylish rooms most have great views, we stayed on the 11th floor and had a great view on the London Eye. We were offered on arrival to upgrade our room for 40 or so pounds more and that would mean we'd get complementary drinks!!!.......between 6pm and 8pm. considering we were only there for 1 night its quiet obvious we would be out between those times doing what we'd gone to london to do!!!! (we saw the Lion King stage show and its incredible!) so didn't opt for that.
Our room was a 'superior' room and had a bedroom, small kitchen and living room area with a very nice bathroom, big bath and seperate walk in shower.
It was all very stylish and initially we were happy however like most hotels this too has its faults, firstly the bed was too hard but the pillows were ridiculously soft so you found that no matter how you slept your neck would be at a angle to the rest of your body and sure enough we both had stiff necks in the morning! Even with the optional second pillows being used once your head was actually on them it sank right in and offered no support at all. Second bad point was the price for a drink at the hotel bar, I went down to the bar for a smoke and after being in the queue for what seemed like forever from the slowest barmen in the world i ordered a fav of mine, Southern comfort and lemonade, just a single, nothing special but a nice drink to have with my smoke before bed. Big mistake - after serving me the drink he seemed a little shocked i only had a fiver on me to pay for it and in some strange accent said "do you want to charge it to your room" well why would i do that i have money right here, i thought! so i asked him "why? how much is it?" his response was something along the lines of 8.## but after hearing the 8 part i nearly passed out with shock so forgot how much change it was on top. I told him i only wanted and single and didn't ask for a double, he said "we don't do singles"...............you'd have thought he would have told me that before charging me for a drink almost warranting a loan itself! So silly me had to charge it to my room and to be honest i dunno what lemonade they use but it wasn't the nicest of "Soco n lemonade" i've ever had and most certainly wasn't worth over 8!!!!
You may think i was a fool for ordering such a drink in a classy london hotel but nothing could have preparred me for that! needless to say I seriously doubt i'll be going back unless i get an even cheaper offer on the room purely for its prime location and stunning views and i'll be sure to stay clear of the bar.
1. The room was very clean on our arrival, comfortbale and well appointed. However, after our first night, we found that the bathroom had not been cleaned satisfactorily and that the used cups from the day before had not been changed; neither had the tea/coffee/milk supplies been replenished. Towels and bed linen hd been changed and the rest of the room had been cleaned.
2. The bath plug was jammed and we had to stand in still water whilst we showered. We managed to release the plug manually and had to leave it on the side of the bath. The chambermaid had not noticed this and failed to contact maintenance when she cleaned after our first night.
We reported both points above on our departure, and the receptionist was very apologetic.

We booked into this hotel thinking we were in county hall itself. The Crowne Plaza IS NOT on the river but it is close enough to walk to the London Eye in a few minutes. Our children loved their welcome pack (slinky toy, monopoly style money for them to spend in the bar, tour of the kitchens with the head chef was a great touch.) The executuve lounge was a joy with its jumbo chess set and good selection of nibbles and drinks. Our room had a spectacular view of the London eye and was clean, neat and modern BUT small. Our children had the best part of the room on their sofa bed looking out on the London eye. The adult part of the room was a little clautrophic. We paid extra for the best room they had and were a little disappointed that is was not more spacious.

The hotel is in a prime position, and great for the London Eye and House of Parliament etc, But we were "upgraded" to a junior suite for an extra 45.00 this gave us an extra area for our children to sleep. The only problem being that the room wasn't made up until past 10.30 pm, and with a 4yr old this is quite unacceptable. The staff on checking out of the hotel only said that he would pass our comments on to house keeping! The food was of a good standard at breakfast but not to the tune of 12.50 a head.

The hotel is exceptionally well kept and good value when getting a substantial late rooms discount and an upgrade to a suite, however a couple of issues -
Stayed for the London Marathon weekend - unfortunately my experience of the Hotels food was the pre-marathon evening buffet (good pasta, but they ran out of salad, bread rolls and fruit salad) and an early light buffet breakfast (small bowl of cereal). Even by London standards the prices charged for the food was extortionate.
Only other problem is that the hotel only has 2 lifts (excluding the penthouse express) for 400+ rooms over 13 floors - needless to say at peak times the waiting time for a lift was unsatisfactory.
Staff were helpful and friendly though.

After 30 mins in reception they agreed it was the hotel's fault and upgraded me. The exec room was OK but very dark, the view was a brick wall that went higher than my first floor room. Hotel was very nice. Great location staff friendly and room excellent. However it was let down by a totally disorganised breakfast. The restaurant was clearly too small for the number of rooms and the attempt at putting some people in the bar was a joke. No one appeared in charge. What a shame as otherwise the hotel was one of the best we have stayed in. Not a 4 star hotel when you have to queue for oer half an hour for anything!!

We chose a junior suite which more than adequately catered for myself, husband and 2 boys (age 3 and 5). The "accomodation only" deal proved to be great value. Hotel was walking distance from most of the attractions we intended to visit (saving on public transport costs) and the kitchenette allowed us to have breakfast cereal, snacks etc in the room. We did indulge in additional room service which was of a good standard. We will be using this hotel again, although the February half term weekend did prove to be a busy one, which would have been more problematic for us if we had been located on the upper floors due to one of the lifts being out of service! Without children we would have made more use out of the gym and spa as this also looked nice. Staff were very friendly & helpful. Recommended.

Overall a very good weekend. Staff were very attentive and we were offered a free upgrade for being a long time waiting to check in and confusion over the booking. Breakfast was excellent and we used room service for a meal on the Saturday evening which was fine. We had an off-peak bar meal on Sunday which was a bit slow in coming but made up for it in flavour. Possibly needs more than one barman at this time (6pm). The room was very quiet and well sound insulated from the neighbours and the outside (overlooking Waterloo Station in our case with no noise from trains heard at all!).

Hotel was great location for sight seeing and worth the money. We had a junior suite which gave us plenty of room for the 3 of us and had excellent bathing and kitchen facilities.
A little disappointed that we had to ask for a duvet for the sofa-bed that had been put up for our daughter, but it was soon sorted out within 30mins of our request. Breakfast a little expensive so we didn't partake in that. Kids package was a little disappointing and didn't have everything that LateRooms suggested would be in there. We returned to the hotel at 11pm to get late bar snacks and drinks. The bar was supposed to take food orders until midnight as stated in the hotel information book but we were told that no more orders were being taken after 11pm and we were 5 minutes late. Breakfast the next day served in our room did not include all of the items we had ordered and some items were only luke warm. When checking out, the additional price of 33 for breakfast was added to our bill even though our room rate included breakfast. Obviously this was removed when pointed out but all of my comments are simplistic and should be rectified with some time spent on understanding the value of customer experience. Otherwise the hotel did what it needed for one night in London.

Breakfast in the room was ok, but some items were missing that we had ordered and when we phoned room service they said they were too busy to rectify. Staff were very helpful and courteous. there was quite a queue to check in so the staff fetched us all complimentary drinks wile we waited. we had an executive room which had spacious and comfortable but had quite a small bed. Air conditioning was quite difficult to control and the room and the hotel was quite hot. Sound proofing between the rooms was not good, we could hear all the plumbing noises. We were given a disabled access room (we are not disabled) which seemed well set out for someone with a disability but a bit awkward in the wetroom (no bath) for us as there were a lot of grab rails, shower seats etc that were in the way if you were standing up. Food was good and the bar was well set out. We got a great deal on laterooms.com, half of the rack rate and would definately stay again.

Our accommodation was outstanding with magnificient views across the thames to Parliament and the London Eye. A very nice hotel really for either business or pleasure in a useful location. I was upgraded to a studio which for one person offered more than enough space. Comfortable bed, good quality bathroom and space for work and watching TV etc. Leave plenty of time to check out if you are in a hurry, the hotel seem to suffer from guests who don't like paying without discussing every item on their bill. I waited for over 20 minutes. The reception was very apologetic and friendly and it wasn't her fault.

This was a great choice and our stay was really enjoyable. Couple of minor issues: the que for breakfast in the main resturant was huge each morning, thankfully our booking allowed access to the executive lounge, which meant we avoided queing. The wait for lifts was extremely long, our room was on the 12th floor so quite a hike. We waited for 15 minutes for a lift first thing in the morning. The staff on reception were good but the sheer volume of residents meant that reception was constantly packed. Drinks in the bar were quite expensive. On the whole the stay was great and I would come back.

Good location - 200m from Waterloo tube (walk down York Road towards the London Eye and entrance is first left) - and 3 minutes' walk to the London Eye. Handy range of nearby restaurants (italian, sushi , noodles, breakfasts and bagels), bars (All bar One and Slug) and 24/7 shop if you don't want to eat in the hotel (we had tapas in the hotel bar and they were excellent, but good to have options) - and that's before you've got to the South Bank's wider selection...
All in all, one of the nicest hotels I've stayed in - and I am picky about things like customer service, hotel cleanliness and attention to detail so praise indeed!

The bathroom had a huge shower and a separate bath. Their pillows are the most comfortable one, in fact I have just ordered some from Germany. The hotel was very kids friendly with brilliant breakfast. (ask for the kids pack when you check in, as you get 5 vouchers for the kids to spend in restaurant/bar). Bed was very comfy, so if you like firm mattress you're quids in. Bathroom lovely, huge shower and lots of toiletries to mess with! Lovely bathrobes, all very luxurious. Food was fantastic; best smoked fish risotto I've ever tasted and the cajun spiced tuna certainly had a kick! Lovely hotel. Only down side was sometimes the wait for the lifts was lengthy. I think there were several tour groups in at the time, so it was always pretty hectic around reception and noisy in teh bar area. We were on the 12th floor though so it didn't really matter. One guest decided to smoke in their room and so set off the fire alarm at 3.40m, 5.10am, 6am, 7am and 7.30am. This was VERY annoying, but the hotel staff had him ejected and were very apologetic. Only good value if you get a good room rate. Too many little issues and lack of attention to detail mean I wouldn't happily pay full price. Our room carpet still had rubbish on it...and an earring! The bath is difficult to get into if you are short as the side is quite high. Lifts were completely inadeqaute for the quantity of rooms - made far worse by the fact that only one of the 3 lifts in the main reception was working on the Sunday morning. Ordered some drinks in the bar. An orange juice and lemonade tried to charge me for both a full size orange juice and a full size lemonade - until I questioned it, plus I ordered a glass of dry white wine and later found out they had automatically served me a premium product at 3.80 per glass more expensive than the standard house dry wine - considered that quite naughty....I know London prices are not cheap, but this tactic was just unnecessary.

We were staying with our children, who are fairly young. We decided to use the hotel restaurant for ease, on the Friday night. The service was appalling, with meals being forgotten and often only arrived after we got out of our seats to get the waiters' attention. Our children, who were tired, got their starters of garlic bread, after we had finished ours. The garlic bread was not cooked through properly and appeared to be a bought in product, which you may purchase in a local supermarket. They left it, unable to eat it.
Their main course was disgusting and had been left on the hotplate for over 20 minutes. This was argued with. I made the waiter try my son's chips, where he reluctantly agreed they were cold. My daughter's chicken, I would not have even given to my cats. My food, Lamb, was uninspiring and my veg, arrived after I had finished my meal and had been microwaved to be reheated.
We were never given the compementary canapes.
We were told we would not be charged for the meal and we would have a complementary bottle of champagne delivered to the room. After chasing this twice, we were left with half a bottle of red wine to take with us.
We have an executive room, which did not have a mirror to look into when drying my hair. The only mirror was in the bathroom and on the back of the wardrobe door (no where near a socket) and there was only a bin in the bathroom.
It was a tad disappointing for the money we paid.

I found the staff extremely unhelpful and quite rude. On requesting our luggage that we had left with the concierge we were greeted with a blank stare and silence, eventually this rude individual found the time to collect our bag (still in silence). We then had to go to our very small room complete with leaking bath, broken bathroom door, minibar that wouldn't open and temperature control that made no difference whatsoever to the sauna temperatures in our room. When we complained about the broken minibar they seemed disinterested and told us to " just order room service". I have been to many hotels all over the world and I have seen some real horrors but this was by far the most uncomfortable and frustrating stay in a hotel i have ever been forced to endure. You have been warned.

I stayed just one night, and would definitely go back again. The rate was reasonable considering that it is a new property. I tend to like the Park Plazas in general and this was a good one. The staff was also very attentive and accomoating. I was there for business, so stayed there as it was close to my meetings - but it is also quite close walking distance to some of the major tourist sites in London as well.

Superb new hotel close to County Hall near Waterloo station. They gave me a studio room which was almost a small flat and included a small kitchen area. Fabulously designed. Grea value at 105 room only in such a great location. I will definitely stay there again if I can get a similarly great deal here at Late Rooms.

We were able to upgrade our room on arrival to include use of the executive lounge and breakfast. This was 35 per room per night and worth it if you are able to get to breakfast by 10 00 take afternoon tea and cakes in the lounge and use the lounge for canapes and drinks early evening as this is all included in the rate. On the first night we had no sleep as the mattress was faulty but the next morning it was replaced and the duty guest manager deducted the 35 upgrade from the bill for that night. I felt they could have taken off more as we literally had no sleep but the manager was charming and keen to put things right for us which they did do.

Location of the hotel is excellent being just behind the London Eye landmark. We had to swap rooms because the wardrobe was too short for my wife's dresses but we settled eventually for an executive suite at a reduced surcharge. With the breakfast and executive lounge (free drinks and canapes between 6-8pm) it turned out to be a good deal - but one does not have to be tied to the hotel as there are plenty of places nearby that serve breakfast.
The hotel grew on us during our 3 day stay. The staff were excellent and made us feel welcome - the room was pleasant, clean and modern with all the usual refinements. We made use of the Gym, Sauna and Steam room, the only issue here was that staff were not at hand to help out with use of the equipment.
The executive lounge made the stay special as we could relax with a drink or two before going out for the evening. In the morning we also had the option of taking our breakfast in the lounge which was always pleasantly quiet.

Only problem was getting to my room to find that the internet ethernet cable had been taken by previous guest and it took a few requests and about an hour and a half later to get a replacement. Having said that, when the concierge did appear with the cable he took the time to come in the room, plug it in and make sure it worked. That was a nice touch because he could have just handed it to me. Great room, got free upgrade to studio apartment.

The hotel is certainly new, and maybe too new to have experienced all the issues ironed out. Fixture & fittings were nice & modern throughout. The studio room we stayed in was spacious with a sitting area looking out to London Eye. It had a little kitchenette equiped with microwave, seperate sink, plates & cutlery as well as the usual kettle & fridge. However, the "rainforest" shower in our room was not properly fitted in that it had a jet of water shooting to the ceiling where the light was, very dangerous indeed, we were too scared to use it, but there was a bath in the room as well.
The receptionist was not too sure of the opening hours of the sauna & steam room (supposed to be 24 hrs) and we got more confused with the "auto but unknown switch on & switch off hrs" she tried to explained. We requested bath robes but waited for an hour before they were delivered.
I've stayed in the Plaza On The River...
I've stayed in the Plaza On The River several times but as it was full, I booked one of its sister hotels; the Plaza County Hall. It took a little bit of finding, mainly due to the large building project that is going on in the centre of the roundabout, although to be fair the hotel is huge and has a massive facade and neon sign. The whole hotel is modern, spacious and clean. I'd booked a suite but was upgraded to a top floor suite with lovely views over the city. The suite was large and well-laid out. A good-sized working area with DSL cable, plenty of accessible plugs and a large LCD TV. In the bedroom, another LCD TV, large wardrobe and a make-up dresser. The bathroom had a bath and separate shower cubicle, which was more than large enough to move around in and had both a fixed rain shower head and a flexible normal head. The usual selection of Plaza toiletries, always entertaining as they include sewing, vanity and dental kits - good thinking on their part. The kitchenette was more than adequate, with a microwave and a coffee machine, with plenty of complimentary sachets and cartons of milk in the separate fridge. I ended up ordering room service as it was late and the food was good quality, hot and prompt in its delivery. For the price, little more than a 'standard' hotel room in central London, this was exceptional value for money and I'd recommend it without hesitation to other travellers.

Very modern hotel with excellent rooms, but sadly the lift system is totally inadequate. At peak times you either waited ten minutes for one to arrive, or used the stairs, which a lot of people were forced to do. On our first morning the breakfast was cold and undercooked, (sausages were pink in the middle). Would like to recommend this hotel for its convenient location and cleanliness, but the above issues would put me off staying there again.

Room very spacious and nice touches such as ironing board, iron, proper hairdryer and cutlery.
Didnt eat in hotel but restaurant and bar area looked very pleasant. The Hotel is easy to find, just a few minutes walk from Waterloo station although on this visit I travelled by car. The Car Parking is close by you can use the long stay (24 Hrs max) spaces at the station for about 20. There is another NCP close by but it was not easy to find - The concierge gave confusing and conflicting directions so in the end I went for the easy and close option. Check in and desk staff were very efficient, just 2 signatures and you were on your way. I had a complementary upgrade to an executive suite, which was excellent, although the standard of the other rooms looked equally as good. The suite had a double bedroom, bathroom with bath and seperate shower and a further seperate "living room" with double sofa bed and work area/seperate TV. Would have been great as a family room. Just one word of warning, do not ask the concierge for anything, make your own arrangements for food travel etc. they really do not have a clue. Apart from that a great hotel and for London very good value for money.

The room view was a little disappointing - overlooking Waterloo station train lines. If i bent my neck enough I could just about see the Thames. Only 1 mirror in the room, in the bathroom, which meant while mum was getting showered I couldn't get ready. Rooms need more mirrors! Skipped breakfast as it was extortionately priced!

Spent 2 nights in this hotel. Very attractive hotel. The room was exceptional. Got upgraded on arrival to a studio room with a seperate living area with large LCD TV. Great location a 5 minute walk to the the Thames and at the London Eye. Great walk along the Thames. There are lots of bars and restaurants near the hotel and along the Thames. You can walk to the West End/Trafalgar Square/Covent Garden in about 20 minutes. Westminster in about 10 minutes. I loved it.
The bar in the hotel could be expensive, depending on your favoured tipple, A large glass on Pinot Grigioo was 9 but that was one of the dearer choices, others were about 5. A pint of lager was under 4.
I payed around 100 a night and would definately stay there again, even if it was a bit more expensive. Next time, if I plan to stay up in the hotel bar until 3am (like we did), I'll suggest to my wife that a Lager and Lime would be really refreshing!
