Small room and overpriced but great location and a bit quirky
Summary
There seemed to be a lack of sound insulation - large and very nice window, our room was at he front of the hotel, but there was a lot of noise outside throughout the night and into the early hours of the morning.
Summary
Great welcome. On exiting the lift en route to our room there was an overpowering smell of air freshener. As the room and public spaces appeared spotlessly clean it was really unnecessary. It gave the impression that there was something to cover up and was rather nauseous..The room was well decorated and appointed and the bed linen/laundry fresh. The main issue was the uncomfortable bed. It was like being back at scout camp sleeping on the ground. At least when you are camping it is possible to dig a hole in the ground for you hip and shoulders. Although the location is quite and peaceful it was so uncomfortable that we hardly slept. Great breakfast.

Perfect location for us.Lovely exterior, inside cosy, clean, bit `worn` in places.Staff polite.
Summary
Lifts bashed and bruised, kettle didn't work, room small, bathroom tired and tatty, TV had unwatchable reception. Surprised this is 4 star. OK location and receptive staff but if I'd paid full price for this (c.£300) I'd be fuming.
Summary
Good location, clean enough but well overdue a refurb
Summary
One of the best value for money hotels Ive stayed in in London. I've stayed in plenty of hotels that charged the same price and whose rooms were box-room small, dirty or just a wee bit creepy.
For a pleasant atmosphere, nice room and good value when you can get it, this is top of my list to date.
This hotel is in a brilliant location as Shepherds Market is a charming area, however there seems to be very little enthusiasm by the management to attract customers who value old world charm alongside modern appliances and fresh and update interiors. It has the appearance of a motel and hotel welcome is very lacking as the person who checked me in seemed unable to give me eye contact and appeared more fascinated by the women sitting in the reception area displaying their charms.

Room ok but basic. Enough tea bags for one cup of tea each which seemed mean. Beds good.
Summary
Excellent stay. Great location. Room small but at the rate paid excellent value. Wished stay had been longer. Didn't eat in restaurant but smelt wonderful.
Summary
We stayed for 1 night and were surprised how central the hotel is to Leciester Square The Room was clean and tidy and the staff were helpful and considering the cost it was excellent value but I would have expected more if I was paying the full price of the room
The only down side was the size of the bath it was just a sit in 1
On the plus side, this hotel is in a great location, near to Park Lane and with lots of shops, pubs and restaurants fairly close by. The food - both room service and breakfast - is also good and the bathroom is fine with a decent shower. However, the room was uncomfortably hot (the air conditioning didn't seem to work), the bed was a bit lumpy (I noticed the difference when I got home and slept in my own one) and the staff at reception weren't that welcoming. It would also have been good to have more choice of channels on the TV and a better Wi-Fi connection in the room. It was also quite noisy at night, both in the hotel and outside. All in, a pretty mediocre hotel.
Summary
Excellent for our short stay in London, 5 mins to the tube and plenty of local restaurants which are not expensive . A warm welcome and the room and facilities were very good and the breakfast had a good selection of cold and hot english buffet.
Summary
A stone's throw from Green Park Underground. Excellent, cheerful and friendly reception on arrival. Bigger than average room for a Central London hotel and a bed that's about an acre in size. Clean and well appointed all round at a fair and very reasonable price. Very close to great little pubs and restaurants in this hidden corner of the West End. Our room was on the front of the hotel and was a bit noisy in the morning; the hotel faces the service area of the Hilton. However, it's probably our own fault for opting to sleep with the window open rather than making use of the air-con.
Summary
On our initial arrival of the hotel we were pretty happy with the location, only a stone throw from st James park.
When we went into our room our thoughts were a little disappointed, from the pictures on the sight they look like very modern rooms but ours seemed very dated and the decal was pretty old fashioned.
Rather shabby and tired
Summary
We booked this hotel for our anniversary for a long weekend. We arrived early for check in but after a short wait were able to have our room. The hotel is in a perfect location for the West End and all of its attractions, it is expensive but only for those of us not from London, in fairness the price reflects reasonably its location and standard. The hotel is in good order, the staff were helpfull. We did not eat at all in the hotel nor use the bar although the restuarant and bar area did appear small. We would stay here again if we were visiting London.
Summary
The coat hangesrs broke in the wardrobe, the hotel only had three more - left by guests looking at them, the fire alarm in the room went off, but only because the tea& coffee tray and kettle was situated underneath it and when plugged in and turned on the kettle set off the alarm for which the reception called and checked I was ok but failed to register that it was the location of the tea/coffee/kettle and the fire alarm that cause tthe problem. Finally, the room had a very tired appearance with poor quality carpets and a look of needing refurbishment 20 years ago never mind now and at £195 was not good value.
Summary
Good location . Hotel rather 'tired' and the bathroom in our room needs to be renovated.
Summary
Friendly, small hotel but for the price would have expected the room to be a bit more 'special' - felt very ordinary and could have been in any chain hotel. Purposely did not choose a chain as wanted something a bit more unique so were a bit disappointed. Very good loaction though
Summary
It was my wife's 40th birthday weekend surprise so I got on the good old internet and started searching for ideas. I opted to go to London for the weekend and do lots of tourist type things and catch a show ect..The first thing I did was try to book a hotel, I wasn't having much joy when I went to the laterooms.com website and I booked the hotel efficiently and quickly and it looked a very nice place to stay by the photos and description.
The price was £350 per night but I got it for £389 for 3 nights which was excellent value for central London over a weekend. The location was great, close to the west end shops and shows and near hyde park for walks too. The hotel staff were friendly and the desk manager was very funny and helpful. The room was comfortable although a little old, the air con wasn't on and the plug sockets were located in strange places making plugging my gadgets and phone very difficult.
There was a TV with the main 5 channels on it and a kettle and tea/coffee facilties.
Our overall stay was lovely , with a fun time in London and a nice base to return to each afternoon and evening. I have already recommended this hotel to people and we have only been back a day!
On arrival we were greeted by a very friendly member of reception who was very helpful. The room was very nice and clean although small. Could have been improved by a little more drawer space but everything else was more than adequate. Taking into account the hotels location etc it was very good value for money. Access to theatre's, sites and places of interest etc . was very good. Most within walking distance.
Summary
Overall the hotel is good and centrally located. Dissapointed with the staff though when they couldn't amend a late booking.
Summary
Check in was easy, room was comfortable, breakfast was OK, alarm call received etc etc. No problems at all. Nice staff, and slept like a log.
Summary
Friendly welcome, room surprisingly good quality for tarriff, excellent late night service. Hotel is very well situated for the West End of London.
Summary
I contacted the hotel on the day of arrival to organise pre-payment of the booking and at no point during these conversations was I told that there would be no hot water in any of the rooms. My colleagues had to travel from our office in Manchester down to London for an awards ceremony in the evening and then back up to the Manchester office the following day, all without access to a hot shower. The hotel were still happy to take full payment (in advance) however and despite requesting a call from the hotel manager about the matter and sending them two emails to date I have had absolutely no response from anyone at the hotel.
Summary
My 9 year old daughter and myself stayed here for the weekend. We booked the hotel the day before on laterooms.com and the rate was very good. Breakfast was a further £14.95 each, i declined as was told on check in that there was no reduction for my daughter (steep or what).
The room was very basic, clean and comfortable, however the hairdryer was very old and melted all over the nozzle, it stopped after 2 seconds. We were brought a replacement very quickly tho. Perhaps the hotel need to update the fixed hairdryers!
Upon checking in with my daughter the receptionist said room 307 is a twin you can have that one...... Right next to the lift shaft, i may add (did she not see i had a child stood next to me)!!! i struggled to sleep because of this, but luckily my daughter was so exhausted she slept through the endless clonking noise throughout the early hours, however it woke her up at 7am!! Fortunately she also slept through the very loud screaming and banging of lovemaking at around 11.30pm coming from a neighboring room!!!
Perfect location, homely comfortable reception and bar area but was not impressed with a receptionist who sniffled. No central heating working but portable heaters worked OK. No hot water at 0630. Linen door at end of passage made a substantial noise when staff let it shut, complained but to no avail. House keeping knocked on my door at an unacceptable hour to see if I was in, there was no "do not disturb" label to hang on door. Pity could be a gem of an hotel.
Summary
The hotel is old and the pictures on the web site are misleading
Summary
Great Loaction right in the centre of Mayfair - however only point would be my room (509 5th floor) had a very poor shower with lukewarm water and just over a dribble of water pressure - it was the only thing that let the hotel down - I did report this to reception at check out and the ladie phoned and asked someone to check it out, however i've not been contracted.
Summary
The room was absolutely miniscule. SIngle bed and small room for this price, not good value for money. I will not be staying here again!
Summary
Shabby and tired room in urgent need of refurbishment; certainly not worthy of its claimed 4 star rating. The mould on shower nozzle and bath made them unusable. Very disappointed in the overall quality and we will not use this hotel again.
Summary
The location was perfect for walking in the West End. There are plenty of hidden pubs and cafes to explore and it is an easy walk to Regent Street, Kightsbridge or Westminster. The rooms were clean and the housekeeping was excellent and overall the hotel had a friendly and relaxed atmosphere.
On the negative side, the room was way smaller than it looked on the photographs with very limited storage and literally nowhere to put the suitcases - okay for an overnight stay or a single bed but difficult on a 4 night short break for two. Also the mattress was the old fashioned type with noisy, uncomfortable springs that tended to poke out at the wrong places.
Well located hotel just round the corner from a number of excellent Bistro's and some of the most expensive shops in London. The Burlington Arcade is worth a look and it is walking distance to Oxford & Regent Street. This is a an ideal location for an theatre experience and the Bus & Tube links are very close. The hotel is off the main roads and has a cosy feel. The services in the room were a little dated and the heating in our room had been disconnected as was unsafe (rather than being fixed!). The friendly concierge quickly sorted out a room heater which was all we required. Another interesting feature is the large number of Lebanese resteraunts in the area as I believe the embassy is just round the corner.
Summary
Rooms were shabby & in a real need of refurbishment, small and noisy in that room to room wall insulation appeared to be non-existant. The actual rooms did not match the website depiction of the Hotel. The Staff were excellant in all respects, this being the upside of our (only) stay there.
Summary
The Hotel is close to Hyde Park Corner and Green Park Tubes. The staff were very helpful, Enzo and Martin were great. If you are looking for good quality accommodation, this is the place. I will definitely stay here again when in London
