We were disappointed at check in when we requested a twin room and were put in a room with beds pushed together made up as one. When we complained they said they would separate them. When we got back that evening the beds were still together but made up separately! We explained we were adult women who were friends and wanted separate beds. They moved us to a room across the corridor with 2 beds, why not just put us there in the first place? We were not happy and would not stay there again. We had booked a twin room online in our original booking.
Small room and overpriced but great location and a bit quirky

Nice hotel, good location, needs a refurbishment, but clean and fit for purpose

Only stayed here for 1 night but it was fine and good value for £84 (a Sunday night). reception staff were very friendly and upgraded me from a single room to a king size double, which was appreciated. Good location close to Park Lane.
Summary
There seemed to be a lack of sound insulation - large and very nice window, our room was at he front of the hotel, but there was a lot of noise outside throughout the night and into the early hours of the morning.
Summary
Great welcome. On exiting the lift en route to our room there was an overpowering smell of air freshener. As the room and public spaces appeared spotlessly clean it was really unnecessary. It gave the impression that there was something to cover up and was rather nauseous..The room was well decorated and appointed and the bed linen/laundry fresh. The main issue was the uncomfortable bed. It was like being back at scout camp sleeping on the ground. At least when you are camping it is possible to dig a hole in the ground for you hip and shoulders. Although the location is quite and peaceful it was so uncomfortable that we hardly slept. Great breakfast.

I've been very fortunate as I've stayed in some of the best hotels in the world; Hotel Danielli, Langhams, Bath Spa, Mondrian etc.. so I do know a thing or two about hotels and I would recommend Park Lane Mews to anyone who wants to stay in a chilled-out hassle free boutique hotel in a very quiet part of Mayfair. I've stayed in this hotel a dozen times now and have always had a pleasant, stress free time. Some of the negative reviews on the laterooms site do not match my experience. My recent stay was for a refurbished double room at a rate of £129 including VAT which was very good value. However the single rooms are small so I would advise lone travellers to book a double instead, if they can afford it. All in all a great little hotel.
What a wonderful little hotel. Not one of those multi chain cold impersonal affairs. The staff were the most pleasant I have encountered in a long long time. I would really happily go back.
Summary
Small room - single bed - but hey for less than £80 in Mayfair on a Friday night - and the bar was open at 2am for a cheeky whisky - Mr Happy!

I work in London regularly as an event producer, and previously had been booking apartments for myself and crew. On this occasion the crew were local and I only required a single room for myself close to Park Lane. I tried parking at the NCP nearby, but it was so tight in there that I decided not to bother and parked in the Pay and Park spaces near to the hotel - which was handy. The welcome at reception was professional and courteous, and I was looking forward to the stay. I paid £135.00 for a single room with no breakfast (early start). My room was on the first floor. When I entered the room I was surprised how small it was. But, what do you expect a stone's throw from Park Lane... The central heating wasn't working, and a portable oil heater had been plugged in before I arrived, and left on full heat, so when I got there the room was so uncomfortably hot. My window had a view of the building next door being renovated with scaffolding everywhere and construction workers were using all manner of power tools so it was incredibly noisy. The noise stopped about 5pm, and I opened the window to let some air in/some heat out. The sash window latch didn't meet and so would not lock. It could easily be opened from the outside, and bearing in mind that there was a flat roof outside my window, was a real security threat. The hooks for the curtain tiebacks fell off the wall when I tried to close the curtains. I understand now why it was available as a short notice booking. I was disappointed and told reception when I left about the window issue and the curtain hooks... they said they would look into it but offered nothing to make me want to come back. I run an event company and we book many rooms for show managers and crew, but I was disappointed by this experience. It was a shame as the hotel is in a great location. Back to the apartments I guess.

Was a wee bit apprehensive staying here after having read such terrible comments left on site but we had a fantastic stay. Lovely hotel staff couldn't be nicer and would most definitely stay there again and recommend to others

Excellent reception and friendly staff
Summary
Stayed 2 nights. Room wasn't large but room dimensions were quite clear on the hotel's website and was as described. Room a little shabby around the edges but room and bed very comfortable indeed. Had everything we needed. Not noisy. Plenty of hot water. Booked and paid for breakfast when we checked in and is definitely the right thing to do. It's a bit cheaper but the buffet breakfast is excellent plenty of choice and everything cooked/replaced frequently, not left stewing. Only small disappointment was that we booked evening meal on first night, Sunday, and the menu available was not the same as the menu on display at the entrance to the restaurant. Our mistake. There's lots of different restaurants, especially French, and pubs in the square behind the hotel.
Summary
Very good location, pleasant clean hotel,
Summary
Lifts bashed and bruised, kettle didn't work, room small, bathroom tired and tatty, TV had unwatchable reception. Surprised this is 4 star. OK location and receptive staff but if I'd paid full price for this (c.£300) I'd be fuming.
Summary
Excellent customer service by Glenn who was on reception.
Summary
The checkin staff were friendly but a little chaotic. The room was quite basic, no fridge, no safe and there was a plug in radiator as I assume the heating was not working as was one of he lights. There was no paper or pen or pencil. The bed was sprung and had seen better days but for 2 nights ok.
Overall OKish but only as I had discount via laterooms, I would not pay the full price for this hotel. Its location however was excellent if you need to be near Mayfair..
There was a general lack of courtesy, which for a 4 star hotel should come naturally. I paid for full english breakfast but due to the timing of leaving it was not available, no refund or substitute was offered. Would not recommend it to anyone. :-(
Summary
Should be 2 stars only not more
Summary
Room was O K but there was a smell in the room 409 which seemed to indicate that someone had recently been sick in the room, not pleasent
Summary
Good location, clean enough but well overdue a refurb
Summary
The hotel was cold, apart from a few sporadic oil heaters which were totally inadequate in the reception area. Reception staff seemed preoccupied all the time. I asked the male reception staff "Are you full tonight; he replied i am actually I've just had a burger....." ????
The bar prices are absolutely ridiculous two vodka diet cokes are in excess of £19.00
Breakfast was cold with burnt bacon
The rooms appear clean at first glance but it soon becomes apparent that they are just given a cat lick.
The hot water takes in excess of 10 minutes to become hot. There wasnt a plug for the bath which was chipped beyond acceptability.
Overall, we will definitely not be going back....
Very pleasant and helpful service. Room decor a little tired. Nice towels but thin pillows. Room service prompt and lovely food.
Summary
Well situated in Mayfair however hotel has seen better days and at £250.00 including breakfast not good value breakfast was a shocking horrible buffet affair where all items where just warm soggy an the bacon tasted very strange
Summary
Nice hotel - Staff attentive - Room quiet and clean - Location superb - Really central and only a short walk from the Tube. Would stay again.
Summary
Very small lobby and bar area, corridors very tired and bathroom very tiny too.
Summary
We had never stayed in this hotel before but are frequent visitors to the Mayfair area, its hotels, restaurants and bars. Park lane mews was a perfect venue for our stay with only a 2 minute walk from all of our favourite haunts in the area. The reception given to us was; warm, friendly and most helpful. the front of house staff seemed to really enjoy their jobs and the banter between them gave the hotel a most personable feel. I can thoroughly recommend this hotel and will most definitely be staying here again, it was great value for money.
Summary
My wife and I stayed two nights while celebrating her 60th birthday. From the moment we walked through the entrance lobby to the moment we departed we were very well looked after with efficient and very friendly service. The room was first rate with very a very comfortable bed and good facilities. We will definitely stay here again when in London.
Summary
Having read the previous reviews there are obviously some very fussy people out there, hotel was fine, jaded in one or two places but good location and definite value for money - will be back
