Bad Choice

I won't be staying here again.
Staff were slow and unhelpful. It took ages to find our reservation.
The room was a very long way from the reception
The room was not clean - mould in the bathroom.
There was also no drinking water tap in the bathroom yet only one 500ml bottle of water was provided and the minibar was empty.
The worse aspect was the hidden charge of £12 for parking 'overnight' about 5 hours in our case.
There are many other options available on the same road - I will be trying them in turn.

Fine in the end, creaking under pressure

Because of Heathrow chaos, the hotel was creaking, almost full. They did not have my laterooms booking, and the first room key they gave me was to a room already occupied. Not sure who was more shocked, me or the poor sleeping couple. So not a great experience really, but room was fine and price was very good.

LONG PAST ITS BEST and badly managed

We stay at Heathrow hotels regularly but our first stay at the Park Inn will be our last. The reception is sadly in need of decoration and disorganised - despite the efforts of one person to direct those looking to check in to one of three desks. We were directed to check in at the concierge's desk - which took 15 minutes to complete - with no explanation except " I am trying to find you a better room". What was wrong with the room we had booked wasn’t mentioned. The room (3198) was quite good - except it was very hot and the two rather simplistic a/c control knobs seemed to have no effect - with the result we went to bed in a room that was unpleasantly hot. At midnight when we couldn't sleep we phoned reception who sent someone to open the otherwise locked windows. Dinner in the "Pulse" bar was a shambles - the last thing it did was "Pulse" despite the fancy copy on the menu. We waited 30 minutes for a waitress to approach us at which point I resorted to ordering food at the bar then it took another 30 minutes for 2 extraordinarily small Caesar salads to arrive. After that we gave up on the restaurant and went back to the room to order a pizza from room service - which arrived in 20 minutes as promised and was "ok". Just to add insult to injury when we asked for a table at breakfast we were told that our booking did not include breakfast – despite the fact that on checking our Late Rooms booking later it was included. Given the appalling shambles in the Pulse bar the previous evening we decided to cut our losses and have breakfast at the airport!

I wouldn't bother if I were you!

Well where to start - in summary I wish I hadn't bothered booking here.
I did a last minute booking the night before my stay due to a meeting taking place in Heathrow - I didn't have a printer so made a note of my reference number and thought all would be ok ... I turned up at the hotel and finally found a car park space (parking is not included in laterooms booking, is £12 for 24 hours) when I went to reception it took 40 minutes for me to check in!!!!!!!
It basically turned out the morning staff hadn't booked my room in, I was told by management I wasn't on the system and unless I had printed copy there was nothing they could do as they were fully booked and my laterooms reference number didn't mean anythign to them. I had to get a colleague to email through to the manager a copy of my confirmation until they believed me but still tried to not accept responsibility for this very annoying and stressful procedure.
Finally got in a room, they had upgraded me because of all the trouble - but was a twin room (single beds are very small) nothing special at all I'm afraid. The only reason I would recommend the £20 upgrade is because then you get breakfast (usually £16 additional) and internet access (usually £10 additional) for free, as well as being able to watch a movie for free.
I went to the gym - it's ok, there's functioning equipment it's just a bit run down, not that many machines so expect to queue and be very close to the person next to you. Swimming pool is a decent size, a bit cool but it was relaxing, very nice hot jacuzzi and single sex saunas in the changing rooms. I went back to my room to shower because the changing rooms were quite dirty.
Room service was fine and the service was nice.
Be warned rooms are rather warm and don't expect to get a lie in as the pipes make very loud noises when your neighbours are showering, plus there was a knock on the door at 8.20am to check what time I would be checking out, so make sure you put the 'Do not disturb' sign on the door if you don't want to be woken up.
Breakfast is a help yourself affair and really was quite nice.
Finally just as a big warning my bill was more expensive than I expected, I queried this (thinking the courtesy upgrade had been charged for, but it wasn't) - the hotel tried to charge me VAT on top of my booking from Lateroom, I challenged this (it was £30 extra) and they apologised saying they hadn't realised - is always better to ask as VAT was included on the laterooms price.
Would definitely not stay here again - although I admit it's very convenient if you're flying out of Heathrow (no aeroplane noise in the room by the way, which was good).

Not worth the money - do not stay here!

Upon arriving at the hotel, I had to search and search for a parking space, finally settling on a curb at the end of a line of cars that was not even a space. After checking in at the front desk, I went to my room through dingy hallways and walking on threadbare carpets, only to find when entering the room that the bathroom was flooded and the shower was constantly dripping water. I immediately returned to the front desk to explain the situation and request a different room, and the clerk initially told me that he could not give me another room. After I insisted, he talked to his manager, who then agreed to put me in another room. The second room was better than the first in that the bathroom was dry, but when I went to close the blinds, I discovered that the entire unit had fallen on the floor! Plus, the curtains were sheers and had huge rips in them, and the room was on the first floor, which meant that anyone walking by could see in. As I was only staying one night and would be gone early the next morning, I did not request a third room, but I will never stay in this hotel again, or recommend it to anyone.

Weekend Ruined

The hotel advertised a special offer which included several options including Late checkout and £5 gift.
the weekend was planned around taking advantage of the late checkoutWe would not have stayed except for this offer!!!
On check in we asked to use our offer and were told point blank this would not be possible as the Hotel was full the next day! That was it, no apology, no compromise, no discussion. They were clearly very busy and our minor problems and plans were of no concern.
Reluctantly and very disappointed, given the arrangements we had made around this option, I asked for the £5 pond gift token... and after having to go and 'see the manager', the receptionist brought me a Loyalty Management Gift Card which was not authorised and I would be e-mailed instructions on how to use it and I could redeem it at some point in the future at their hotel groups. It has now been nearly a week since this conversation and surprise surprise I have not heard from the hotel... the receptionist took my email address down on a scrap of paper and i observed her not filing it anywhere specific.
So to make this a little more than a winge I would advise you to call this or any other hotel and confirm any special offer before making plans as they are always Subject to availability...

Very slow reception

We arrived at the hotel not at a particularly peak time but still had a 15 minute wait to get to reception and were given a key card to a room on the second floor which is some distance from the reeption. When we got to the room the door was not working, nolights working which meant another 10 minute wait for maintainance to come and when they arrived they couldnot fix the problem so we had to go down to reception and this timed que'd for 20 minutes with every one booking in.
We had been in the hotel nearly an hour and still hadn't managed to get into a room.
The good thing was that the receptionist once you do get to one was fantastic and gave us vouchers for free drinks and upgraded us to a business suite which was really nice.
Brilliant hotel very busy plenty to do, but needs more staff on reception.

Recommended, good proximity to the terminals and reasonably priced fayre (for London).

Perfect for the airport (can't get much closer!). Unfortunately, despite not arriving until 7pm, neither room was ready. A room upgrade and free drinks vouchers were accepted as fair compensation (rooms were eventually available from 7:45pm onwards.
The buffet dinner at £17.95 per head was excellent quality and provided ample choice from salad to roast dinners.
Was quite a warm evening, so aircon would have improved matters, but on the whole excellent value considering the location.

I would rather call the hotel Park Out than Park Inn. The room, although a good size, was not very comfortable. For two double beds with huge flat headboards, it lacked enough pillows for one to actually be able to use the headboards without making his head sore. The "working" desk had no matching chairs in the room. I had to plug my laptop next to the bed and sit on the bed while using the internet. I ordered room service and I had no chair to sit on so I ate my food standing up. The curtains were trolley-type where one has to spin the handles to move the curtains higher or lower. Hence if you wanted the room a bit brighter, you have to pull the curtains all the way up. You can't keep the room bright because if you keep the curtains half-way down, everyone can see you from the outside parking lot. The elevators are far from the rooms. What's up with the rooms on the second floor having a different elevator from the rooms on the 3rd, 4th or 5th? The spa closes early at 8:30 am. The guy who mans the spa seems like he can't afford to stay a minute later than 8:30. I came in at 7:45 and was warned that the gym closes at 8:30. by 8:20 he was running around the pool and telling everyone that the gym will be closing in 10 minutes. I was in the steam room at 8:25 and was told that the gym will be closing soon. I went out to take a shower and when I was dressing up, he was back doing his rounds trying to make people leave as soon as possible. Check out time came and I noticed that the rate used on my bill was 179! I showed my confirmation and told them the rate should be 124.80. I was told the rate was before taxes. I told them that the rate IS inclusive of the taxes according to the Late Rooms website. The receptionist did not believe me becaue the confirmation I received from Late Rooms did not indicate "inclusive of taxes". But it did say that the rate was "Total" rate which I interpreted to be "tax inclusive". The lady did not believe me so I had to pull out my laptop and and made a fake reservation at LateRooms.com. I selected Park Inn and in the website, it did say the the quoted rate was inclusive of all local taxes. Only then did the lady agree to reduce my rate from 179 to 124, but it sounded like she was doing me a favor!

Disappointing Accomodation

I will not be staying at the Park Inn Hotel again and could not recommend it to anyone. Firstly, a half hour wait to check in standing amongst stacks of luggage around the lobby. Followed by being completely ignored for ten minutes whilst four members of staff tried to fix the printer.
The room was dirty, a half drunk cup of tea or coffee had been left on the side, the carpet outside the bathroom was wet and smelly. The fan that came on after the toilet was flushed was so loud you had to leave the bathroom, it must have disturbed the other residents as well. The remote control for the TV did not work.
The help yourself buffet was tired and dried out. The options for a vegetarian were roast potatoes, soggy broccoli and lentil dhal! The pasta dish wasn't available. Most of the salad bowls were empty, for £26 it was not value for money.

The Park Inn is close to LHR but it takes a day or so to find the cheapest way to get tHere - certainly do not expect sociable taxi drivers - the queue for hours and just complain when they get a short fare - best stay in Oxford if your want a friendly taxi service! As for the hotel, not for a leisurely week- end break. This is an over- nighter making connections, staff are friendly but manager's policies re Internet (£££) and late check- out / day rooms (customer care shall be zero!) - breakfasT is extortion to be polite ...
