Oliver Plaza Good for earls court bad for a night

The hotel is about 1 minute walk from Earls court exhibition centre. That is about the only good thing.
The rooms were tiny not only was it a struggle to walk round the bed but I could not sit on the toilet because they had squeezed a space saving toilet in a very very small en-suite bathroom, which given that I'm not the tallest or biggest person this would not be good for someone over 6ft. It was hard to get in and out of the shower due to the small bathroom.
There was very little place to leave luggage in the room or hang clothes up due to the lack of space.
The bedroom window would not close properly as it was wedged open with some wood for some reason, which meant all the street noise came through the window making it very noisy including some sort of parrot which was nesting in the tree outside my window.
There was an overriding smell of stale smoke throughout the hotel.
The phone in the room kept going off all night with no one on the other end so I ended up unplugging the phone.
The breakfast was ok, continental style, but the yoghurt's were all out of date.

Not worth the usual tarrif but a good deal makes it worth it

My boyfriend and I stayed here as part of a special deal for £84 per night. It was good value for the location and the room was clean. However, the bathroom was the size of a postage stamp and they certainly shirked on number of towels, toiletries and such like. The staff were friendly but could not deal with all requests and customer service was lacking...being told to 'come down to reception and get the Internet code' was not particularly appreciated!! On that point, there was only one free hour available on wi-fi per day. All in all, was tolerable for a budget hotel but outrageous that the usual room tarrif was over double the price!

Business stay

I stayed two nights at the hotel. The room had obviously been recently refurbished and although small was quite adequate. I had a twin room on the ground floor near reception but was not disturbed by other guests. The shower room was very small with a very small sink which made washing interesting as it was impossible to stop water splashing on the floor. The shower was excellent. A bath mat would have been very useful to keep the floor dry. The bed was very comfortable. I did not have breakfast which was not incuded in the room rate. Overall the experience was very good and I would definitely stay here again.

Small Budget Rooms

Let's face it, you've clicked on here because of the price. It's cheap. That's one of the only endearing thing to say. It's well-located, too. The rooms are small and adequate - but the en-suites are so cramped that there isn't enough leg-space for a man of average height to sit on (and therefore use) the toilet. If you need a cheap place to put your head down and nothing else, it's fine.

A Gem of a find

Stayed here with my daughter for two nights. Brilliant position for Earls Court, plenty of reasonably priced restraunts at the end of the road. (Can highly recommend Mazala Zone Thali) We stayed on the ground floor in a twin room. Rooms were modern, beds extremely comfortable, if you have ever cruised I would describe the room as being the size of a good standard cabin. The staff were approachable friendly, polite, efficient and helpful. Just could have done with a bath mat to stand on after showering. Not a complaint just an observation. If we had stayed for longer would probably have needed a bit more clothing storage space.

The Oliver Plaza is in a great location close to the Tube for Picadilly and District Lines. Although, the rooms were tiny and by tiny I mean, you can just about walk around the bed, the front door just clears the bed, the room was cheerful and clean.

Terrible bathroom

This hotel is very close to Earls Court. I booked a double room but was given a twin which was tiny and the bathroom was horrific. It was a total plastic unit - ceilings, Walls, floor were all one small plastic unit. The sink was the size of a cereal bowl and the shower was tiny. A really poor excuse of a bathroom. Very disappointed with this bathroom. The staff were friendly and chatty but they gave my room key to the wrong person and didn't offer another room when I said I was unhappy with the one I had. Altogether disappointing not good value for money.

Recommended accommodation with excellent transport links

I took my young daughter for her first visit to London over the recent half term. The Oliver Plaza was a perfect place to stay. Small room, but clean with ensuite & comfortable beds. The hotel is surprisingly quiet yet only minutes from Earl's Court Station. We felt very safe even when returning late at night. Staff were welcoming and helpful. Breakfast simple, but satisfying. All in all, The Oliver Plaza represented very good value for money at just £59prpn. If I must find fault - it would be the rooms being too warm; it would be great to have been able to control the room heating, but as the window opened it wasn't too bad. I will definately consider using this hotel again.

Not really what was advertised.

Whilst there wasn't very much wrong with the accommodation I wanted to feedback that it isn't quite as advertised. I booked purely because it was advertised as having an ironing board and iron and free Wifi in the rooms which isn't true. The Wifi costs £10 fpr 24 hours and the one ironing board is for use by all guests and is tiny. Also the room was very small. Having said all of that the service was friendly and good and it was the cheapest advertised - just wanted other people with the same criteria as me to know about those couple of things.

Pleasant stay - Good value for money

Despite reading a couple of bad reviews I booked anyway and it was a slightly higher price than the hotels on this site with an array of horrible reviews. The room was pretty small, but perfectly suitable for a one night stay.
The hotel has obviously seperated larger rooms into smaller ones, as it sounded like the man next door snoring, was almost in the same room!
Apart from that the room was pretty modern, very clean and perfectly suitable for an overnight stay on a budget.

Few minor points - no free Wi Fi, One bed up against a very hot radiator, The bathroom looked newly refurbished but is tiny. The window would open but the wind was too strong to leave it open. Staff on reception very friendly and helpful, we arrived early but the room was ready and we were able to store luggage on departure day. We didn't have breakfast as were going out but it was reasonably priced. Just a walk up a quiet tree lined street to the main stret with shops cafes and tube.

Adequate for London

Picked this as it seemed less extortionate price than other London hotels and had some good reviews. Great location near Earls Court tube. It has been recently refurbished so was a lot more modern than other hotels in similar types of Georgian terrace buildings that I've stayed in. I would rate it a lot higher except the bathroom was tiny - smallest I have ever been in, but at least the shower was good. Furniture in rooms was good quality, and the bed and sheets were good. Didn't try the breakfast. Would stay again if could have a bigger bathroom.

Very pleased with our stay at the Oliver Plaza. We only booked " room only" which was clean

most hotel rooms in London can be very small. Earls court was very convenient to the
city center and to Kensington where our son works. I would book the Oliver Plaza again on

Extraordinary Customer Service Noted!

The photos of the rooms shown are not exactly as you get. Each room is different. I was disappointed at first, and thought I would not stay based on the rooms. They are simple and small. After looking around on the internet some more, I saw that I was not going to get the price and location in one.
I chose to stay the 3 nights I had originally booked and am so happy I did!!! The staff continued to surprise and delight me with how they wanted to ensure my stay was amazing. i felt like I was part of the family. They have someone at the desk 24/7, and each staff was as great as the one before.
Based on the customer service, location and price I would highly recommend this hotel and would stay again.
Ask them anything at the desk.. anything... they want to help!!!
Happy Customer! :)

It was easy locating this hotel which is a five minutes' walk from Earl's Court Tube station. I had a heavy luggage and chose this station because it has lifts leading to the train platforms and is on the Piccadilly line leading directly to Heathrow. The rooms were pleasant and clean. The shower cubicle is small, but as I'm small, it wasn't a bother. The staff were courteous and available 24/7. Only drawback is that wifi is not free. There are small grocers and plenty of eateries nearby too, and a cheap Internet cafe along Earl's Court Road opposite the tube station.

Great little hotel in excellent location with friendly, helpful staff

We found this hotel to be great value for money. We had booked a single room for one night (for our son) and a double room for two nights and were given triple and twin rooms on the 1st floor. Although they weren't large they were very clean and bright with plenty of natural daylight. The beds were comfortable and had duvets and not the usual heavy blankets which was a plus. The staff couldn't have been more helpful and were extremely friendly. It is less than 5 mins walk to nearest tube station and has plenty of pubs and places to eat nearby. The only downside was that the continental breakfast was dissappointing (I didn't even bother going for it on the second morning) but ours was complimentary so I can't complain and I couldn't get a WiFi signal in the room and although it was strong enough at reception I didn't particulary want to sit there. There is also a charge for WiFi which was unexpected, however the charge is waived if you can't get a connection and the chap at reception was really pleasant and helpful. All in all a good value for money hotel.

Good Location, good value

I had a two night stay to attend a training course close by. Its 2 minute walk to the tube and ideal for most parts of the west end. I was unsure what to expect after reading some of the reviews, but I was pleasantly surprised.
The staff was warm and friendly and always offered help and assistance. My room was a twin room with en-suite shower and both were clean and comfortable. Yes the room was a bit small and the bathroom tight but it was functional and ideally suited me as I was by myself. Although there was no formal wardrobe for your clothes there was hanger space and draws to place your coat, shirts etc.
On a budget it was a great hotel, I have stayed in far more expensive hotels in London and found the room space to be either the same or smaller than the Oliver Plaza. I have stayed in two other hotels on a single room basis and paid a lot more than the Oliver.
The breakfast is typical continental - Coffee/tea, Croissants, meat / cheese and yoghurt and toast. Nothing fancy but it is what it is. Where else can you stay and have a breakfast in London!
Would I use it again - Yes I am back in London in about 4 weeks and if I can get a room at the same rate of £69 a night for a double room. I was quoted a cheaper price for a single room but took the option to pay a bit more for the double which I would recommend if you are a solo traveller.
