Hotel is only 1 year old. It is fantastic with good sized rooms & is spotlessly clean. Bathrooms a bit cramped but adequate. Bar prices a bit steep, but this is London. Only 5 minutes from Paddington station / tube. Will definately stay again ( but I did get a good rate ).

It would have been hard to find but from reading other reviews I knew where to go and it was nice to see some signs in place.
Lovely pedestrian area I had a meal here rather than in the hotel because it was morlivly and could watch boats on the canal - nothing against the hotel.
Although i was hopeful for a double bed there were too large singles - which i pushed together to make the biggest bed I have ever had,
The bathroom was swish - very modern sleek and dare i say it hi-tech?? Fantastic shower and it was a nice touch that the toilet was separate.
all in all a nice modern hotel that I would stay in again.

We enjoyed our stay in this hotel even thought it was only for 1 night. It is a clean, modern (only opened in Autumn 2008) hotel. The rooms are well equipped and the staff were very helpful. In fact, we were early for check-in, however, because we had children they checked the available rooms and allowed us to check in early. The newly developed Paddington area is great for a quick bite to eat, there's a Sainsbury's local and several chain eateries. The swimming pool is a great bonus.

One night stay for couple and child. The hotel is located in a centre so new that taxi drivers still weren't sure where it was. It is situated right between the railway from Paddington and Westway. Despite this there is no noise as the windows are triple glazed and sealed. Unusual bathroom layout with a separate toilet. Both bath and separate shower. Room had a double bed and fold out sofa bed and there was still space to move. Minimal storage space. Extortionate internet in room but there were two free internet desks in the lobby. Didn't try the food as we were checking out early. Its very convenient for Paddington/Heathrow, easy walking distance so long as you don't have heavy baggage. Staff were helpful, if rather impersonal. Needed an additional towel which was brought to the room within five minutes of request.

I have stayed with my girlfriend, parents and 2 sisters. The hotel is very clean, rooms are big, staff friendly and food very good. Swimming pool is not the biggest, so in evening hours it gets busy and might need to wait to get there. Dry and steam sauna was a pleasant surprise. Very good value for money. Only downside is that this area is newly built, so it is not reflected on recent maps and googlemaps will send you about a mile away from the actual place...some signs on the way from Paddington station would make it so much easier. It is round the corner from VISA headquarters, about 5 minutes walk from Paddington station.

My (almost) teenage son and I needed a hotel convenient to Paddington station so that we could drop off our things in the morning. The Novotel is very convenient to the station and had we needed to eat out or pick up basics there were restaurants and a small Sainsbury's nearby. The area was very quiet. From our room we overlooked the tracks into the station and a dual carriageway flyover but the triple glazed windows meant we could not hear a thing from outside. The pool is very small and my only criticism of the hotel is that there was no shampoo or soap supplied in the shower - not a great problem but I've never come across this before so didn't take any supplies down with me.
Staff were pleasant and helpful, there was a bit of a queue when we went to checkout but we weren't greatly delayed. Good value for money and I would choose this hotel again for a London visit.

Not an easy to find hotel and once you arrive it is set in a bit of a moonscape. My room had views across the main line into Paddington station and Westway. You could be anywhere. No noise however. Nice sized room - very comfortable but hopeless storage - wardrobe hanging but no shelves for underwear etc even for one night. Travel Lodge is better. Nice bathroom but flexi shower in shower seemed cheap. I liked the ability to plug in I pod . The full room rate is 250 per night and if I paid that I would not then expect to pay through the nose for wireless / internet access. Nor 2.50 for a small bottle of water in the room fridge, I felt unwelcomed merely a money machine staying in a room . One small complimentary bottle of water would would at least make me feel welcome. No complaints but unlikely to get me back as so in- hospitable. Its like a posh travel lodge - even the same ghastly cheap plastic 'glasses' Better and cheaper paying for a more expensive hotel with free wireless. Good breakfast. Other food looked uninviting and Harvester like and dreadful menu - I did not fine the starters . I gave up and did not eat there . Good swimming pool but the worst designed changing room ever - the doors simply open onto a corridor so no privacy if you're coming out of the shower or changing by your locker. Soulless experience.

The room (#1017) itself was a standard double, well provided and clean. However my principal complaint and therefore the low score was the mechanical noise that was constant in the room from, I believe, air conditioning plant that was close by. The resultant hum that oscillated and produced a noise like an alarm resulted in me getting very little sleep and a having a storming headache the next day.

Lovely hotel and good room. The problem was that I have a heart condition. My wife has also some problems and together this made life at the hotel difficult, BECAUSE .... the nearest car park is Paddington Station Car Park. Downhill and probably half a mile just to get to the road, uphill to the bridge, then downhill following Bishops Bridge Road, then down down down the road slope to the station car park. Great except its all uphill on the return. Took me 25mins with stops. No chance of a cab either, as they queue for their turn on the bridge and won't leave the spot for a small journey. No mention that this place is unsuitable for those that have even minor difficulties.

This is a very good hotel, only one year opened and still very shiney and clean, pool, steam room, and sauna, all exellent, although not so good if you have small children as the pool is over 5 Ft. deep, with no shallow end. Food is not up to the standard you would expect from a hotel of this quality and portions are a bit on the small side. There are lots of good places to eat nearby. the Hotel is at the top end of a traffic free complex, with mainly office blocks, shops and eateries for company, the Union Canal lies at the bottom of the complex, a good hassle free way of getting about. If you have to pay for your own drinks ect. take plenty of money as even a glass of wine will set you back 5 - 6

The hotel only opened in late 2008. Hence the sparklingly new look and feel. Trendy Apple branded reception, modern look (exterior looks hideous !) but overall interior is very impressive. In Kingdom St. Most black cabbies in London have never heard of the road because despite their "Knowledge" it didn't exist until last year. If you like walking the hotel is great - it's well away from a main road close to Paddington station. You will find you will walk the 800 meter walk to the main road at some point during your stay - if you want to go anywhere its compulsory! The gym is small but adequate with latest Life Fitness kit. There is a small pool. The staff were great. No free internet in rooms but big IMAC computers in Reception with free net. Restaurant nice, clean and food was good. You'll like it if you stay here. The rooms are large, shower terrific, and overall it's a very good 4star hotel. I'll stay here again - and my guess is the current LateRooms price won't be available once the hotel becomes better known.

Local inhabitants were also clueless until the 10th or so person I asked. Walked the neighborhood for more than 2 hours from Paddington station to go 2 blocks. This is quite embarassing for me with heavy luggage to boot. I have travelled for 16 years throughout europe and not had such an experience like it. Signs are necessary.

I was a little nervous that the hotel...
I was a little nervous that the hotel would be too a suited to business people but actually there were families about all the time and it was great for us (a couple)
If you like things to be modern then your love this hotel. The whole hotel is very contemporary. We were occupied for ten minutes just playing with the taps in our bathroom! The room its self was nice, we stayed superior room (the bed was big and computable). One nice touch was the separate shower and bath in the bathroom, and the toilet was in its own separate room. Also it should be pointed out that everywhere was immaculately clean. The lactation was very quiet, and again, surrounded by modern buildings/features. There is a little Sainsburrys right by, or about 10 fast food places just by the station.
The pool/steam room/sauna where all nice, quite small but then it never seemed that busy.
Cant comment on the food as we didnt eat there but dinner prices didnt actually seem too excessive considering it was A) a hotel and B) London. However 15 quid for breakfast seemed allot.
Ive seen people said its really confusing to get to but its really easy if you exit out of Paddington TRAIN STATION the right way. If you get off at the tube station I suggest turning immediately right to go into Paddington train station. One youre in the train station find platform 8 and there is pathway that runs alongside it. Walk all the way down there, up the ramp and then veer right which takes you outside. From there follow the signs to Sheldon square (you will be walking alongside a river). Turn left at Starbucks and keep walking forward. (You should be able to see the novotel sign at the end of the road)

A new, modern Novotel, situated 10 mins from Paddington Underground (or 5 mins if you use the Hammersmith line station). Room was very good and well-appointed. Pillows like giant marshmallows - not to my personal taste! Desk service excellent. At the discounted rate, a good hotel to use regularly. Breakfast expensive - but Starbucks within easy reach!

The family room was just a double with a sofa-bed. The bathroom was excellent especially having a separate wc.
The big disappointment was the breakfast. It looked as though it had been under the heater lamps for quite a while - the sausage and bacon were dried up. Freshly cooked food arrived as we were selecting but on cutting, the sausage was raw in the middle!! One extreme to the other. We were in a hurry as our daughter was in the New Year's Day Parade and so didn't have time to complain. We would have complained though if we had paid the full price for the room & breakfast. Neither did we try out the Gym facilities - hence the value for money score.
Having stayed in family rooms at several hotels in London during the last year the best value would be Travelodge (29), with Premier Travel Inn (89) Second.

Finding the hotel was a bit confusing.... if they had written how to reach there better it could have been a lot more easy...if you travel in tube to paddington..cross to the main railway station through the tube and then from the over bridge there is a way going inside in the middle that is what you have to take...

This hotel is very new and the interior design/decorating is very modern and impressive. Room was very comfortable and clean. However the one and fairly large beef was the 15/day for internet access. This is $5/day above the norm of other hotels. I expressed my displeasure upon checking out and the front desk really did nothing to defuse my frustration. The location to Paddington is ideal. I would stay there again provided I did not have to use the internet!

hotel was in a good position only 5 mins walk to paddington tube. room was a good size and very modern, not sure I like the over head shower as the water trickles out rather than jets out. Myself and my teenage daughter went for a swim and sauna, pool was quite small and cold and neither the sauners were in operation. Breakfast was great but then I'd expect it to be for 14.50. We booked this hotel with an offer, had I paid the full price I think I would have been disappointed.

The hotel is very nice, brand new and a five min walk from paddington station. The pool and sauna are are welcome addition, And for what we paid was a pretty good deal. Although If we had paid the 'normal' rate of 250 a night I would be left feeling pretty short changed!

New hotel, friendly and helpful staff, compact gym with good equipment, small but pleasant swimming pool; couple of minor glitches re the entrance card to the leisure suite ( had to keep getting it recoded) but otherwise best stay; nice area as well, convenient for Paddington station. Would definitely stay again and have already recommended to colleagues.

My girlfriend and I paid per night here...
My girlfriend and I paid 89 per night here over the Halloween weekend. The hotel is obviously fairly new so the spec is good. Bathroom is small but cool and the shower is excellent. No bath. The room was well worth what we paid (no breakfast) for a central London hotel. Convenient for Potobello Market, Notting Hill, Hyde Park and most types of shopping. Would definately stay again for that price. Couple of small issues. Returned on the Friday night 1130 pm looking forward to a drink in the hotel bar. Bar closed ! On the Sunday at check out time we were running late with regards to our travel arrangements home. We had no bills to pay but still had to queue to check out. An express check out facility would be good. Also is there a back way out of Paddington Station because we seemed to have to treck around some alleyways and over the canal to get to Sheldon Sq from the front entrance to Paddington.
Would still reccommend staying !

Hotel has only been open a few weeks so we expected it to be clean, etc but the staff were very helpful and friendly and the pool and leisure facilities were great. The hotel is located only a few minutes walk from paddington station but because it is new, no-one knows where it is! It's located in Sheldon Square so tell the taxi driver to take you there rather than Kingdom Street.
