Nice hotel, clean and tidy

We only stayed one Saturday night, but we were positively impressed by this hotel.
It was clean and tidy, the facilities were great (we wish we brought swimsuits to use the swimming pool!).
The room was perfect, just enough space and it was really quiet.
We had dinner at the restaurant (because we were in a rush), the food was forgettable but ok. The waiter on the other hand was brilliant, really nice guy! Food was a bit dear for what it was (16£ for a simple burger, although it came with loads of chips and onion rings).
We would defo use it again if the need arises.
One thing we found bizarre was having an extra tv speaker in the bathroom. This is loud enough to give watching tv in the main room the feeling the sound is coming from somewhere else. I now have proof that listening to Futurama while having a shower is not the same as watching the show! Not really an issue though.

Excellent

Dont normally write reviews but had to for Novotel London Heathrow. we are a family with 2 young children and were using it as a base to visit theme parks in the area.
The rooms were nice and clean. the staff however couldn't be more pleasant and helpful. they changed our room when we mentioned the tv was malfunctioning. They even offered to give us a hand moving our stuff.
Extremely helpful and worthy of a mention.
Very refreshing service and I stay in many hotels all over the country.
Well done.

Good value & convenience to airport

This is a good hotel and the price we paid was about 50% or less of published cost. Furnishings are modern & comfortable; bathrooms are fine although loo is in a separate room from the sink and tub so you have to go "next door" to wash hands. The restaurant is available all day, and for very late arrivals, room service is available anytime. Standard room tub was raised & not appropriate for mobility-impaired who should definitely ask for accessible room. Hoppa bus to/from airport stops every 30 min. (need to sign up in advance to ensure pickup) and costs 4 or 5 pounds for the 10 min. ride. A taxi was 18 pounds. No sundries shop but front desk has various items if you forget something. Mini bar or room service was only option for a soft drink or candy bar snack. Pool & gym on site. Internet access available for a fee (various packages - not cheap). Room was advertised as accommodating 2 adults & 2 kids (on a pull out couch). It would be tight with 4, but not impossible.

Excellent receptionist

I was attending an interview near the hotel on Tuesday 21st February 2012 and stayed the night before, I was travelling on my own, the receptionist was very understanding and helpful making sure I had all I wanted, very pleasant lady.
The accomodation was good and clean, breakfast was OK, slightly overpriced, but, I am not complaining, this hotel is a lot better than hotels I have stayed at when I have paid three times as much, I would recommend this hotel for the odd nights stay, especially when flying from Heathrow.

The hotel was clean but the rooms heating was not very good. Would not recommend this hotel to anyone who likes a warm room..freezing

AirCon needs attention

Staff were lovely, attentive and thoughtful. Room was fine but i wouldn't call it 4* - better than a TravelLodge though. Unfortunately the pool was a little cold so didn't offer much in the way of relaxation. Main problem was that i had stayed with my family ahead of a long flight and was hoping to get a good night's sleep. Instead was woken about every hour by the incredibly noisy aircon/fan, despite having turned it off. No idea what that noise was but it sounded like a freight train going through the room.
Sadly it completely ruined what could have been a very pleasant stay.

Family room in Novotel heathrow

Late room website gives the impression of a bigger room with queen size bed, but we got a much smaller room with only a double bed. That is because when we get redirected to Novotel booking page from Late Room, there is mandatory field where we need to give a choice of the room from the drop down list. that list has only two choices, double room or twin room, although Late Room web page describes it to have a queen size bed. That was a mis match. So I think either late room need to ammend that on their web page or they need to high light that to Novotel to have queen size bed to be included in their drop down list

This was a nice place to stay, staff were very good ,the only negative aspect was the food ,
I ordered fish and chips the fish was 2 small pieces like the tail ends, the portion of chips was more for a child, and it was way over priced,so I would not recommend the restaurant.they
need to employ a better chef.would only stay again if the food was better and value for money.

Novotel excellent overnight

When travelling long-haul, we usually overnight at LHR to get a morning flight after travelling the previous day from the Isle of Man.
Novotel is a very good choice; the staff are efficient, courteous and friendly without being familiar. The rooms are spotless and more than adequate for a night-stop. The food is surprisingly good and sensibly priced. Our pre-ordered taxi arrived 10 minutes early.
Our only grouse is that we asked for a smoking room only to discover on arrival that there is a no-smoking policy throughout. Other LHR hotels are more tolerant of we addicts.

Clean, tidy and efficient!

Not sure if I was over tired but it took 5 circuits of the roundabout before I got into the correct lane to actually get to the hotel car park, although the hotel is very easily spotted from the road. I was collecting my partner from terminal 3 the next morning and did not fancy the M25 on a Monday morning so opted for a very reasonably priced Sunday night deal. Although I faced the inevitable queue the staff were very polite and efficient and did not have to wait long. The room was a little basic but very clean and a comfortable bed, if I had a slight criticism the toiletries were pretty scant and the TV was very awkward to navigate and the volume was muffled although the speaker in the bathroom was a lot clearer !? All in all very good value for money and a smooth painless process - perfect for the frequent traveler.

Good & Bad

The hotel on first appearance is very clean. Bedrooms appear clean but behind sofa bed and underneath was quite something else considering how they rate themselves. Felt very out of place here as mainly pilots etc stay here so stuck out like a sore thumb and general service was OK but sure if I had been a pilot would of been waited on hand and foot! like we saw. Also very hard to communicate which I'm sure was the same for them.
The good points staff generally polite, food is excellant!
Would not recommend to a family but if just overnight then OK and attractions are not far from here as well as other ammenities.

Disappointed.

Our experience at the Novotel was a great disappointment, the room was ok, but the speaker for the tv was in the bathroom and not the main room. That was not really too much of an issue, our main issue was the staff were not very motivated, the staff behind the front counter were helpful, but once you leave the main counter you experience long waits for ordering food and drink. My parnter and I were travelling with our 6 month old daughter and she was waiting for over 10 minutes at the hotel bar for some hot water for our daughters bottle; when she was sick of waiting for anyone to look like they wanted to help, she went in search of some hot water, and found a coffee machine that dispensed hot water outside one of the conference rooms. While filling up her container, one of the staff who could not be bothered in seeing what my partner wanted at the bar decided to remonstrate with her and inform her she was not allowed to use that machine! To which my partner informed her of her wait at the bar and the staff member started to argue with her, and not help her as I would like to think should have been the response the staff member should have given.

Wedding accomerdation

On entering you are greeted by a modern, bright foyer. Staff on check in were informertive and friendly. As the room we booked was a family room there was very little room to move around as the second bed was an opened sofa bed. Which was not very comfortable as the matteress was very thin on top of the springs. On the other hand the main bed was extremely comfortable with crisp white bedding. A first in hotel rooms, a seperate toilet which was a really good idea when you are sharing a room. On the whole a really good stay over night, but longer the sofa bed would become a problem maybe a thicker matteress and duvet bedding instead of the sheet and a rather over washed blanket that was on it. The swimming pool was very good , clean and well kept. We did however loose the hotel twice ! no being used to the roads and area it is rather tucked away and so very easy to drive passed the enterance , so maybe improved signage for those not familiar with the area.
