Fabulous hotel

From arriving to leaving this hotel just made up happy and comfortable, the staff were very friendly and very professional even though we only stayed two nights our beds were freshly made and fresh towels both days, the hotel amenities were outstanding just wish I had taken my gym gear! Fabulous bar and restaurant with a very wide selection of breakfast items to suit everybody's taste, the rooms were spacious and very clean, it also had a safe which was free to use and the lavatory was separate from the bath and shower area so perfect when more than one sharing a room, the location was perfect as right next door to train station and dlr links into the city

Value for Money?

I thought the room was expensive for what it was but considering the demand was high (Virgin London Marathon Weekend) I understand why there was such a high rate. The staff were excellent and service was brilliant.

Whilst the hotel was clean and quiet, we did feel that breakfast was extremely expensive (£19 approx for each adult for cooked breakfast) so we went out to eat. It was very convenient for people wanting a train as the station is next door (Our room was at the front of the hotel so do not know what, if any, noise there would be at the back where the railway line was)

Modern, friendly hotel, recommended for families

I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of this hotel. We had a double room with a sofa bed for our children (aged 3 & 6). The room was very clean, and well decorated. It all felt quite new the bathroom was contemporary and had a separate bath and power shower (not the usual awful hotel bath and shower combo) . We didn't try the hotel restaurant as it looked a bit pricey, but there was a pub / american style diner over the road which suited us very well and was family friendly. The hotel is right by the tube station and an easy walk to Greenwich pier, market and the cutty sark. The reception has free computer games and local info.

A weekend in Greenwich

A good place to stay, with usual Novotel standards. Staff very friendly. A failure somewhere meant that part of a lunch order went unfulfilled, although later, and not requested by us, the staff allowed a significant discount on the billl for dinner.
The TV in the room was intermittently defective which would have been irritating for a longer stay.

Novotel Greenwich, not such a bargain......

This room was advertised as being reduced from £249 to £79. The room was described as having a queen bed and a doiuble bed. We would usually have chosen a Premier Inn type of Hotel for a similar price, but we thought it might be nice for our daughter to have a proper bed instead of the usual sofa bed. Oooops, no double bed, just a twin sofa bed with very thin mattresses, not even comfortable to sit on, let alone sleep.
All of that said, the Hotel was very clean, well appointed and a great location for Greenwich, the O2 and the shopping centre at Stretford. The walk through Greenwich from the Hotel to the Cutty Sark is short but pleasant, and the trip up the river to the West End is a alternative to the underground. The food at the Hotel is quite good but a little expensive. It has to be said though, I would have been VERY disapointed if I'd had to pay full, (normal), price.

Brilliant staff, Excellent location

Stayed in a twin room with a friend after a hen night out. The staff were faultless, very friendly and helpful. They even helped us research local spas online after our plans fell through on the day. The hotel itself was modern and very clean. Beds were quite big and even though located next to the train station, there was no noise. Breakfast was lovely, but a little pricey. All in all an enjoyable stay in an ideal location. I would recommend.

Novotel London Greenwich

The rooms are quiet, clean and modern, with a very comfortable bed. Greenwich offered plenty of places to eat and drink, just a short walk away. Prices locally (and for the hotel) compare very favorably with staying in central London and it all felt much more relaxed and clean. Highly recommended. Just be careful when ordering drinks at the bar - it's very expensive!!

Excellent Hotel With fantastic links to London via DLR. Greenwich only a short walk away too.

Hotel was perfect for our needs. We were visiting the London Boat show so being on the DLR was perfect. The hotel was extremely clean and well maintained. We only stayed in the hotel for breakfast but this was of a very high standard. The food was varied and very fresh. There were no signs of the hot food hanging around for hours which was a relief. Kids loved it and it was only a few minutes from Greenwich town centre which has a host of bars and restaurants meaning you're not forced to stay and eat in the hotel restaurant. Only down side was the aircon didn't work. Room was quite hot and we couldn't open the window due to noise from the DLR. It's a minro niggle and wouldn't stop me staying there again.

Upon arrival unable to get into car park as the barrier was not opening, reported this to reception. Advised it was working, when I returned back in the car park found the problem was still there. It took a further two visits to reception to report it again before somebody come downstairs with me open the barrier. No apology given, felt like it was more of an inconvenience that they had to leave reception to deal with it. Next problem was when we tried to gain access to our room, we were faced with a swipe key that was not working. Again had to make three visits to reception to report it before somebody finally decided to follow me up to room to let us in. Went out to dinner - when we returned had the same problem with the barrier not opening. After reporting it twice I left my partner to deal with as I was getting very annoyed at the attitude of the reception staff. He had to wait 10 mins before he was let in the barrier.

Excellent Hotel

Had some reservations about this hotel as it was a bit out of the way being in Greenwich, and we have two young kids to entertain!
However, on arrival we found that the hotel was spotless, snd the room was easily big enough for the 4 of us.
Staff were extremely welcoming and made extra effort to make the kids feel right at home.
We had breakfast pre-booked and it didn't disappoint either.
We didn't stay long enough to find out any further benefits for the chidren, but all in all very good value for money, and right next to the overground railway (less than 10mins to centre of London)
Couldn't ask for any more, highly recommended.

High standards but not intrusive or pushy

We enjoyed our stay very much indeed. It was beautifully clean, warm - and our room was quiet - overlooking the road rather than on the train side. It is just a few steps from Greenwich station which is most convenient and of course Greenwich is such a lovely place to be. Staff were great and the main meals really delicious - though we could have wished for better vegetarian option for guests we wished to invite.

A pleasant stay

As with previous stays our time with Novotel Greenwich was excellent. The hotel staff more than make up for any small faults. They are friendly, helpful and can't do enough to ensure your stay is pleasurable. I do resent paying to park under the hotel. Whilst it is comparatively cheap at £10.00 per 24 hours I am not entirely sure why it can't be included within the price of the accommodation. Otherwise another pleasant stay.

The hotel is perfect for business travellers or for those wanting a city break in and around London. The check-in is easy, the rooms have everything the average traveller requires and there are ample food options available. The staff go out of their way to be friendly and make you generally welcome. The hotel is perfect for Greenwich Station with trains every ten minutes to London Bridage and frequent DLR trains to Bank.

Yes and no

This hotel has a great location, immediately outside Greenwich railway & DLR station, so it's very conveniently located to get almost anywhere in London. Greenwich itself has a superb, urban village character too that adds the charm to be being so close to the centre of a big city. The hotel itself is clean, modern and very efficiently managed and the staff were all pleasant and welcoming. The down-side is it's rather expensive and even discounted rates come without (continental) breakfast. That would be over £15 if you wanted one, and a full English breakfast would set you back another fiver or more. I decided to give breakfast a miss altogether and just have a (free) coffee in my room before I left. The shower seemed to have one set temperature (warm) and my iPod nano wouldn't work via TV, despite indications to the contrary. However, having said all that I probably would stay here again.

A good nights sleep at the Novotel Greenwich London

The room was basic but very comfortable. As it is close to the Greenwich train station, we thought we would be kept awake by trains but not at all. Once the window was closed, we heard next to nothing from the station. The room was clean and tidy and extra tea/coffee/sugar was provided when requested. We did not eat at the hotel as seemed expensive.
