Summary
Everything was as we would have expected, room was ready on time, spacious and clean. Reception staff were welcoming and efficient - breakfast in the room was excellent but needed to be as it is not cheap !! Hotel is in a great position for exploring the South Bank ....
Summary
Very pleasant hotel with helpful, efficient staff. Conveniently located for St Pauls, Tate Modern etc. The room was of reasonable size, quiet and comfortable. Nothing special, but for London this was decent value for money in my book.
Summary
This is our first stay in a Novotel and we weren't disappointed. The room was fairly basic but had everything you needed. The room was bigger than some London hotels we have stayed in. We were very impressed with the breakfast; everything was beautifully cooked and there was a lot of choice, although at £16 it's not cheap. The children were however free.
We had to ask for the children's welcome gifts; it would have been nice to have found them waiting in our room, however the sofa bed was already made up and there were plenty of towels. We were grateful for the late check out given us and generous breakfast times (at the weekend they serve until 12!) We had a noisy generator next to our room on the first night but when the hotel couldn't fix it they upgraded us to another room without any fuss. All in all an excellent, family friendly hotel in a great location!
There was a mean-ness on small things - only 3 teabags and no shower cap, although good provision of 'technology'. The first room we were allocated smelt of tobacco smoke so we asked for another room. Breakfast is outrageously expensive at £16 or £20 extra. Good location and not too noisy at night, especially as we needed the window open.
Summary
I got a great deal through Laterooms and I was delighted with the quality of hotel for the price.
Breakfast was a little expensive for what it was, but all in all, a nice hotel and well worth the money.
Always wondered what it would be like to be a rubik's cube until Now. Room was tiny and impractical to live in. Had to close on door to get into a cupboard. Worst layout of a room ever and will not be staying here again. Ever!!!
Summary
I would use this hotel group again
Summary
Location is good, close to Southwark Bridge and the river. The room was non-smoking but smelled of stale cigarettes (can only assume it used to be a smoking room!). The bathroom was strange, with fold out doors directly beside the bed (I mean so close that when you got out of the bed you were in the bathroom), the toilet was in a separate cupboard beside the main door.Generally the room was very cramped. We booked for two people, checked in for two people, got two keys, but they only provided one towel which we didn't have time to rectify with them as we were running late, so one of us had to use the hand towel! the toiletries were good. all in all it was a very small, cramped, hot room, no better than a Premier Inn. If you want a good hotel by the river, go to the County hall Premier Inn and save yourself £50!
Summary
Hotel was very good. Walking distance to the Millenium Bridge and St Pauls Cathedral.
Summary
Very pleased with the hotel. The customer service was good - we asked for a quiet room and got one where the only "noise" was the low hum of the fridge - in central London! Everything was spotless, the desk was manned 24 hours and the bar open early to late. Bar and breakfast room were on the ground floor while 1st floor seemed to be a training facility so the guest rooms above were quiet, but Southwark Bridge Road is not nearly as busy as one might expect so this is a good location. The only slightly negative features were the high cost of breakfast (£15.50 for continental, a little more for cooked) and the fact there wasn't a tube station right close by. BUT there are plenty of breakfast facilities and stations in Southwark or over the bridge. We mainly used Mansion House tube (Circle line) and London Bridge mainline (for Waterloo East and Charing Cross) stations - both reasonable convenient
Summary
Friendly, helpful staff. Quiet room, comfortable beds. No problem leaving bags in the hotel after checkout.
Summary
As always good value for money, great staff, rooms clean and anything you ask for at Reception they are happy to help. Excellent location! We will be back again for the 10th time!
Summary
Excellent family room
Summary
The reception staff were very friendly, the room was very clean. The only issue we had was the efficiency of the bar staff.
Summary
We have stayed at this hotel on a number of occasions and find it to ideally located for seeing the sights. It has a tube for easy access to central London and it's attractions and lots of restaurants and bars nearby. I marked it down slightly because the room was very small when the children's bed was out and the toilet was separate to the bathroom with no sink in so if someone needed to wash their hands and someone was in the bathroom it was difficult.
Summary
Rooms seemed a little cramped when sofa bed in use. Also going to the toilet in the night was tricky as it was seperate from the sink area and meant having to turn lights on disturbing the whole family just to wash hands.
Our mini bar fridge wasn't working, a memember of staff said we would be relocated but we never heard anything more and the fridge was not repaired either. Staff at the desk were pleasant enough though.
We found this hotel to be very professional and in a fantastic location. The staff at reception were very friendly and efficient.
Summary
the hotel was clean in a good location to see all the sights of london.and well worth the visiting for a short break
Summary
SouthBank is ideally situated near many of the London sights, with a fantastic fresh food market around the corner. The hotel is brilliant - staff so helpful and friendly. Unfortunately as the beds are so comfortable we slept late and missed breakfast, but that's what being away from home is all about. Definitely a top scorer from us. Thank you Novotel for living up to your high standards!
Summary

Perfect location for a short break south of the thames
Summary
Room was adequate but some of furnishings and carpet looking bit worn and blanket for sofa bed not good - have stayed there last for last 3 years and some needs replacing!
Summary
Very pleased with room and hotel. Excellent value for money. Just minutes walk from Southwark Bridge and Bankside. Would thoroughly recommend. Many thanks.
Summary
This hotel was very appealing when i booked it and now having stayed my opinion hasnt changed. The staff were very helpful and my room was ready prior to the checking in time which was great. Getting into the centre of london was pretty easy as tube station a 5 min walk from hotel.
The room had all me and my partner required and was clean and modern.
I would recommend this hotel and use again when return for another weekend break
Very friendly staff, no trouble with booking in. 10 minutes walk from tube station. stayed in room with 2 children and were all comfortable, room clean and ready when we arrived. added bonus was breakfast included, and this was superb. Ideal room if in london on short break
Summary
Could do with a couple more espresso pods when you have two people per room, but fab overall
Summary
A nice modern hotel in a very good location that is reasonably quiet but only a short walk to the main sight seeing area. I strongly recommend this hotel and will be using it again myself.
Summary
Very beautiful room in easy walking distance of London Bridge station. Very quiet even though is a large hotel and you did not have to be out of your room until 12 which was great for a lay in. Spa there if you wanted to use it. Room very modern and clean. Separate toilet to bathroom which was nice. Excellent business facilities inr oom. Great value for money but I only paid £99.
Summary
Difficult to find in the dark but well worth the effort!!! The room was large and comfortable. The hotel was extremely quiet which lead to 2 good night's sleep for all of us. The staff were very helpful and we were able to leave our luggage to be safely stored after checking out.
Very satisfied.
We had a lovely weekend away. The staff on the reception as at the bar were always accomodating. Excellent position to all the sights etc. The room was clean, warm and comfortable although a little noisey as on the road side. The hotel inside was lovely and quiet even though it was busy.
The only downfall was from the time we arrived on the friday until we left on the monday lunch time only one lift was working which was annoying as it was often full and had to wait several times for the lift. We were quiet happy to use the stairs but after a bit of confusion you have to get out at the 1st floor and go through the conference area and down the last flight of stairs. nobody made us aware of this we just followed someone else. Could have been difficult in an emergency.
My husband is actually a lift engineer and couldnt understand why no one had come to repair it or a sign to say it was out of service. It is a big hotel for one small lift.
Would definately return.
Was a bit dissapointed about the room ,we asked at reception about mini bar who were happy to help but did not .the room was spacious but strange set up toilet in another room luck we did not have kids with us ,the view could have been better but at least we were not in there long ,it said it was a grade 4 but previous i have stayed in grade 5 which was much better
Summary
We were really happy with the hotel. The room was great, kingsize double bed and really good bathroom and shower. The staff were really helpful both on arrival and departure with leaving luggage in store for a few hours.
The location was really good - short walk to great places to eat and drink. Borough Market was also really interesting and obviously handy for Southbank centre.
Hotel was nice and so were the staff...
Summary
We arrived in London mid morning and our room was made available to us immediately. It was spotless and warm, we were thrilled. Breakfast was fabulous, hot, replenished constantly, huge choice and excellent value for money. We were able to keep our room until 5pm on the Sunday free of charge which made the whole experience flawless. Nothing was too much for the friendly helpful staff, i would definitely visit this hotel again and recommend it to friends and family
Summary
Booked this room last minute as staying in London for the night. Hotel was a 2 minute walk from the Thames which is a nice walk. Some great restaurants near by and very handy for Tate modern. Hotel was immaculate - no faults !
Summary
Having stayed at quite a few hotels in and around London I was prepared for the worst but was pleasantly surprised. The rooms were new and clean and, for London, spacious. The service was top notch and nothing was too much hassle. The hotel food was exceptional. My son had a 3 course meal for £4.95 which was beautifully presented and made with fresh ingredients. Being close to London Borough market and Southbank also made it the ideal location. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone.
Summary
Clean Hotel in a good location, but most of the frontline staff were aloof and I wouldn't say unhelpful, but I felt it was a chore for them to answer my querie about nearest tube sations etc. Apart from one guy who we saw when we checked in and unfortunately never saw again.
Room was clean, but very, very small with barely any hanging space or shelving which meant we were living out of our cases which took up most of the floor space. It was just ok. I wouldn't go back and it has put me off going to another Novotel compared to other chains.
