I was attending a conference in London and...
I was attending a conference in London and wanted to keep the overall cost down, this place certainly did that. The twin room was pokey, and very basic, there was two bars of soap for toiletries so take your own. The shower was warm and water pressure consistent, I didn't stay for breakfast as I was getting breakfast at the conference. So if you have had a few beers and just want somewhere to crash, it is fine. No chance for romantic getaway. Single glazing on windows so reasonable amount of road noise. So maybe more than a few beers needed.

When laterooms tell you that a deposit is...
When laterooms tell you that a deposit is not required - you don't expect for a deposit to be taken. It does here! The room was four flights of stairs up, was tired and had second hand mix and match furniture. The basics (tea and coffee, ironing board etc.) not available readily - and when I asked, I had to carry the ironing board up to the room from reception, which was mouldy and lumpy. Location was 10 mins walk from Paddington, but would advise spending an extra tenner somewhere else.

When we arrived we could not access the hotel it was locked with nobody on reception at 2pm. After many phone calls and constant ringing of the door bell and 25mins wait a person from an associated hotel let us in!!! The room was on the top floor where the staircase was very steep and the carpet had come away from the stair a definite health and safety issue!!

After many phone calls and constant ringing of the door bell and 25mins wait a person from an associated hotel let us in!!! The room was on the top floor where the staircase was very steep and the carpet had come away from the stair a definite health and safety issue!!

I was very disappointed at arriving at Normandie...
I was very disappointed at arriving at Normandie hotel having booked through LateRooms to find that it was full, and then be offered a sub standard room in a sub standard hotel and then pay more for this than the advertised rack rate because I had been taken there by the receptionist from the first hotel as this was their sister hotel. To be fair to the receptionist, at least he didn't put me out on the street he did take me to his sister hotel. After a very long day and an early start the following morning I didn't have the energy to make a stand, I just needed some sleep, which I took in the second room I was offered as the first one was full of cigarette smoke. For the hotel to say that it was none smoking and then not even be asked whether I wanted a smoking room or not, to say I was frustrated at this point was an understatement. All in all I lost approximately an hour of my evening which at this point would only involve 6 hours sleep because the first hotel received their laterooms booking too late - the receptionist went through his fax machine in front of me to find my booking along with several others from laterooms which he could not fulfil. All in all I was very disappointed with both the booking experience and hotel experience
