Needs upgrading

Our hotel room was very small and as soon as we walked into the room it smelt of damp and musty the room needs to be brought up to modern day standards it was noisy from the traffic out side as the windows were not double glazed and let draft in.it was fairly clean but the breakfast was good had a good variety.

Hmmm

The hotel is in an excellent position and 5 mins from Paddington. It is a bit tired looking and in need of a bit of modernisation. Our room on the first floor was poor, ripped carpet, rotten windows and dirty really. The decor would have been ok in the 70's. On the plus the breakfast was plenty and for the additional £4 you can stock up on a full english, twice if you need to.

Room 512 was in the attic and very small but suitable for the one night we stayed.Window frame was rotting but we were able to open/shut it thankfully as room warm. When open there was water running down it from roof. Cold water tap gave hot water so cleaning teeth was 'different'.Breakfast was very good quality, better than we were expecting.

Good overnight stay

The hotel was easy to find and get too, close to Paddington Station. Lots of restaurants around. Staff were very welcoming and friendly. Room very comfortable. Corridors looking a little tired, but clean and tidy. Would use hotel again for an overnight stay.

We booked the hotel because of its closeness to Paddington station and inexpensive, as we only required one night we took a chance on the quality of the accommodation but were pleasantly surprised ....the staff were friendly and helpful, the room was a good size and on the ground floor so no stairs to climb and the breakfast was good. We will definately stay again on our next visit to London.

Basic!

The room was ok for one night but there is no wardrobe just a couple of hangers attatched to a pole sticking out of the wall. The Shower was awful!! The water just trickled out! I had to have a bath to wash my hair and even the bath wasn't amazing.
Breakfast was fine with a good range to choice from.

The room was dated, mould on the wall, floor sloped so when you were in bed your head was lower than you feet. There was blood in the sink and our kettle had a really bad smell to it, when we asked for another there was no spares so we were left with no kettle.

Great Value But a Little Hard to Navigate

Amazingly priced room for sure! I don't know if it's just me or what but the hallways are very tiny and also seem to enjoy winding around, so the room was a little hard to find. Doors aren't labelled very well (Why does it not point to the direction of the Lobby on some of those fire doors? Knowing that I am indeed travelling in the direction of a Fire Exit is indeed necessary and wonderful to know but pragmatically I want to know where I can exit the building on a more mundane level.) There is only one elevator for all five floors, which wouldn't be much of an issue if the elevator were big enough to accommodate even three people. It isn't. But aside from that the hotel is very pleasant, in an easy location to find and again, the room was very nice.

Sadly disappointed

Cust. service... reception = excellent, dining room = cramped & staff aloof. Cleanliness... some areas of dust in bedroom & bathroom... hairs in sink plughole... long black hairs in towels... poor state of silicone sealant etc in bathrooms... some tiles broken / loose. Bed quality poor, one pillow per person only & they were poor also / very lumpy. When asked for an extra blanket because we were cold & heater was not working (none were provided in the room) we were told "no, none available as 'housekeeping staff' have gone home"... a cold night followed. No remote control for TV in room 407.
We would have liked also to see leaflets / advertising of attractions etc.
A possitive... when given a twin room we requested from the reception staff that we would prefer a double & this was dealt with very swiftly & efficiently. Reception staff very polite & helpful.
We booked through 'Late Room.com' & feel that the hotel is misrepresented in the information provided.
