I booked an 'executive' room hoping that it would reasonably smart and have a bit of space. However the double room was on the top floor ( so rather hot and stuffy) and had an extra single bed ( not required). The room was clean but the decor was tired and the room layout was poor. Bathroom was clean but needed a facelift. First room I have been in for a long time where there wasn't even a complimentary biscuit. Staff were pleasant but didn't give any useful information - like how the room key card worked or where coffee was at breakfast.

We booked the room as i was attending St Mary's hospital. It was perfectly placed for both the hospital and the train stations. The Staff was very good and helped whenever they could. I had booked a executive double and was shown to a room that was on the small side and quite a few years out of date, however it was clean. The website showed more modern rooms and I did assume that these were the executive rooms but I found out that the 5th floor was the executive floor. The room was really really hot and we tried to turn the radiator off and have the window open for several hours, but it stil remained warm as the radiator would not turn off completely. Having paid a reduced rate I was fairly happy with the room for one night, but had I paid the full nightly rate I would have been quite disappointed. The breakfast in the morning was a basic continental included in the price which was good food but you could have a buffet full english breakfast for an extra £4 which was good value. Overall a good hotel.

My 73 year old mother and I arrived at the hotel at 12pm and were told that we couldnt check in until 2pm. I explained that we were just getting our bearings and would not be back until 11pm ish as we were seeing a show. I was reassured that there would be no problem booking in at this time. However on returning to the hotel gone 11pm we were told that there was no room available for us and we would have to transfer to another hotel. We then had to wait 25 minutes for a taxi to take us to another hotel, wait at reception to be checked in and were shown to a very unimpressive room that I presume they keep for people who book off late rooms.com. Not at all impressed. We were treated appallingly and I will never use this site or hotel again. My mother was exhausted, upset and we had to cut our trip short and return home early the next day.

I know that you get what you pay for, but for the room rate we paid we could have had a lot better and were disappointed by the hotel. It is in a good location, but is very old, very tired and very small. The lift only fits 2 people, the floors in the room are uneven, the rooms are tiny (we had 2 single beds with about a foot at the end of the bed before you hit wall) and in need of some attention. The door didn't lock properly despite staff trying and telling us we'd just have to make do. There was one helpful assistant on the desk, a Black male, but the rest of the female staff were unhelpful and barely spoke English.

I am a customer who has just returned from a short break at your Norfolk Paddington Towers hotel and would just like to share some feedback with you about the experience which myself and partner had. Unfortunately I was unable to share this with the receptionists when checking out as she was on the phone. Firstly I must start with the postives. The hotel itself is lovely and has a lovely character and feel to it. The location of the hotel is also fantastic! I didnt have much contact with the staff but anyone I didnt speak to was also friendly. And now for the not so good. Our trip to London was for leisure purposes only. All we wanted from a hotel was some where close to the centre and some were at the end of the day for us to sleep. We were given room G5 on the ground floor which i can honestly say was awful. The room was far too warm and when we opened the window there was a loud noise coming from the silver thing outside it. This noise was constant and made it impossible to sleep threw. We had booked a double room, not a twin room with 2 single beds pushed together. So along with the loud noise, the incredibly warm room and the extremely uncomfortable bed i do not feel that this hotel fulfilled my expectations of a bed to sleep in while in London. As the hotel itself is lovely and the location is great i feel that more must be done to improve the quality of the bedrooms. Unfortunately I cannot say I would visit this hotel again or recommend it to anyone as I feel it fails the basic requirement of a basic bedroom to stay overnight.

On arrival, a large party was being checked in, but one of the reception staff left her colleagues and quickly dealt with our booking. We were provided with a room on the fifth floor which was accessed via a relatively slow lift. The room was basic but perfectly adequate for our one night stay. The shower room was very small, but again met our needs. The hotel bar has a direct access from outside and is therefore used by non residents as a pub.No evening restaurant meals were provided but we were pleasantly surprised by the relatively wide range of food available for breakfast which enabled us to have a good choice. It appeared that the hotel is well used by contractors and service engineers seeking a good value overnight stay which the hotel does provide. We were generally satisfied with our stay and the location a few minutes from paddington Underground station.

I have stayed here twice so that alone says I found it a good balance overall. The location is excellent for Paddington connections and the staff are friendly. The rooms just tend to be a bit careworn, the mattresses a bit tired and - on the 5th "executive" floor several rooms have a cramped feel because of the sloping mansard roofline. The single lift serving 5 floors may frustrate the impatient. Breakfast is ample but uninspired. Still, it's a budget price on Laterooms so if you are wanting reasonable accomodation rather than an impressive hotel it is good value for West London. Not a romantic hotel venue though. Do check out the room you have been allocated, and look out for one or two rooms on the top floor where the hum of the ventilation system may be distracting for a light sleeper. They seem fine about room changes if available.

My friend and I shared a twin room with continental breakfast. On arriving at the hotel, from the outside we were alarmed at the state of the net curtains that could certainly have done with a wash! Not good for a first impression. However although the room was quite small it was adequate but in need of a refurb. The curtains were too short for the window and looked like something out of the Ark. But the bathroom was clean, the beds clean and the tv had 5 channels although the remote did not work even when the doorman changed the batteries in it for us. We found the staff very friendly and obliging. There was a free luggage room available so we didnt need to carry our cases about with us all day on our checkout. The continental breakfast was basic but there was sufficient for you to fill up as many times as you wanted. A plus side for us was that the bus stopped almost outside the hotel (St Mary's Hospital bus stop) and being over 60 we could use our bus passes all over London. I suppose for what we paid we got value for money. My other complaint would be the room was too hot even when we turned off the radiator.

Although they really should get some teapots as it was quite annoying having to keep going up to make a cuppa and keep having to use loads of teabags when 2 bags and a teapot would have saved them money and me time. We paid £69 for 2 adults in paddington with a great breakfast so all in all I cant complain as I have spend a double that with the room only being on a par and a poor breakfast. The stay at this hotel was booked to celebrate a night at the theatre to celebrate our first year together. It was offered at £79 including breakfast, but i upgraded to an "executive" room for £89. We requested a room with a view, and away from the lift shaft. The room was on the top floor next to the lift! It had a view if you opened the window the statutory 9 inches, as there was condensation between the double glazed panes and you couldn't see out of the window if it was closed. The room was very small with a very old poor quality granada rented tv with no remote and dodgy volume control, on a wooden corner shelf that you had to manoervre around to get into the far side of the bed. The decor was awful, the mattress poor, and only one thin pillow each. There was no wardrobe, just two bars sticking out of the wall! The bathroom was tiny, you virtually had a foot in the bath and the sink when sitting on the toilet! The only control on the shower was to turn it up from very hot to scalding!! The taps and shower head were dirty and the complimentary dove soap dispenser was hidden behind the shower curtain. It is just inside the congestion zone so you pay £8 a day monday to friday, 7am to 6pm. I was advised that there was a nearby car park that would cost me £15. It was £31 for 24 hours, £29 for 12! The only positive thing about the whole stay was the quality of the self-serve breakfast, which was extensive and very good. Rooms on the 5th floor should be off-limits, they are rubbish! I would recommend that this hotel is removed from your list, it was that bad. A great disappointment for what should have been a very special occasion for my partner and i.

Continental breakfast a little basic perhaps, with the optional supplement for the cooked breakfast a little offputting, but could well prove good value for money, as does the whole of this hotel overall.

We booked with Norfolk towers on a last minute deal, saving £100 on the normal price. After reading the reviews we were a little nervous about the quality of the hotel, but it was fine. We were happy with the quality of the room for the price we paid for it, but weren't sure we would have paid the full price. Staff were mostly quite friendly and helpful, and location is only a few minutes away from the Paddington underground station which means getting to all the sights is really easy. For students on a budget, we thought the hotel was unfussy but clean and practical. A great break.

We stayed here to give us a base after a Billy Connolly concert. It was a nice room, good size, comfortable bed, huge bathroom, and the staff were very helpful and attentive. The only minus point we would say is that the mirror in the room was covered in a thick layer of dust, but this is probably just a careless cleaner. The rest of the room was very clean, and we would stay here again, it was excellent value for money in a good location.

I booked an exe. room for 3 nights (below 60 pounds per night). its located on 5th floor (top floor). The room is very hot, I sweat even if i open the window (plz note this is a deep winter time - end Dec!). But there is a fan provide, can use it in summer time. The room is very tiny, just enough to place an opended small luggage. No toiletries supplied (a very environment friendly hotel !) the towel provided is not clean enough. But there is an heating board on the wall for executive to iron their trousers before going to work ( which is good ) and wifi is free of charge in room with good connection. Don't expect too much to the breakfast. Just breads, cereals , tea , coffee. If you wish to have full breakfast with scrumble eggs / sausages, pay extra 4 pounds. But I'm recommand it, coz not many people choose to have a big breakfast, the leftover foods are served again the other day, which means they're not fresh. Staff are nice and helpful. Generally, I would recommanded this hotel because of its good location (within 5 mins walk to Paddington tub station, and only 17.6 pounds to pay for cab to victoria coach station) and many restaurants nearby where you can still find something to feed you mouth in x'mas day).

I found the hotel staff to be friendly, courteous and very knowledgeable. The restaurant had a great selection for their continental breakfast and the food offered for their full English breakfast was excellent as well. It is conveniently located, only 2 blocks from Paddington Station, so the Tube was easily accessible as well as the Heathrow Express when I returned to the States on January 1st. I had injured my leg the last day in London and the staff were able to assist me with directions to St. Mary's Hospital, just a few blocks away. Luckily it was not a serious injury, just a pinched nerve, so I was still able to leave for home the next day. I would definitely stay at the Norfolk Towers again on my next trip to London! The only negative thing I found in the hotel was that the heat in the hallways was excessive, they could turn the radiators down a bit, it was quite warm but the heat in the room was turned to a comfortable level.

If you are expecting the world for £55 then forget it. However, when I compare the double room that I had (it was a squeeze) to the single room at Thistle Euston it's far better. Thistle has a well recognized brand name and that experience was a shambles. So if you are on a budget and you are not fussy about your room size, just need it for an overnight stay or a weekend getaway with no frills then this hotel is about right. Proximity to Paddington station and a few restaurants and pubs around make it quite a convenient location. Can't complain.

Upon arrival, the receptionist wasn't very friendly and looked moody the whole time we were checking in. We didn't really feel welcomed. Also, for the inclusive so-called 'continental' breakfast, all they served as part of the inclusive meal were coffee, tea, 3 types of cereal and bread and jam and if you wanted anything else, you'd have to pay an additional 4 pounds! That wasn't mentioned at all. The room that we got were mediocre. Bathroom was extremely small but I guess you can't expect much at the price you're paying. However, location-wise, it was perfect. Very near the tube station and lots of places to eat nearby. If I had to come back, I would only come back for the location.

I orginally looked for accomodation on the internet, looked at the photo's, we thought they were very deceiving. when arriving at the hotel, and opening the room door we were disgusted in the quality. I had paid £150 for a room that was very very very basic, and this room was supposed to be on the executive floor!! Last year we stayed at a "Holiday Inn" and i must say that the room we had there (£50) was to a much better quality, and we would return. We must say that it is very unlikely that we would be returning, or if we do we certainly would not be paying £150.

The room was very clean but tiny and very cramped, there wasn't really enough room to walk between the bed and the desk. The bathroom and shower were clean and spacious though. The breakfast felt very rushed and there weren't enough space, meaning lots of people split up to sit on seperate tables. The reception staff were very polite, but the breakfast staff seemed quite rude. It's a nice enough place to stay if all you need is a room to sleep in and are going to be out all day and evening, but I think there are other places that are better value for money.

This was one of the worst hotel experiences I've ever had. Two men barged into my room in the middle of the night while I was sleeping. Scared me half to death. They had apparently stayed in the room the night before and somehow still had functioning electronic keys. They demanded I vacate. After calling the front desk, the hotel staff took their timing coming up to the room and then acted as if the situation were normal. I had to yell at them to get them to get the men to leave. The hotel never apologized or even acknowledged the absurdity of the situation. When I asked for a discount, they said "we don't do that."Beyond all this, the room itself was small, hot, and stuffy.

All the staff I met were friendly and helpful. There was one small lift to take me to my 5th floor room, so it took ages to await the lift both going up and down. The room was small yet sufficient (single bed en suite room) but it was very hot with no air conditioning. The window didn';t open fully to let air in, nor did it shut properly to shut out the noise of the traffic noise below. There was a roller blind rather than a curtain so this did little to cut out the traffic noise. It was a cheap room for a cheap price, but I could probably get better elsewhere.
