Just what we were looking for

Fantastic staff! We arrived early, but the staff had no problems with us checking in early, however the receptionist advised us that if we came back a couple of hours later, we would get a much better room, which we took her up on. The room itself was smartly presented and in a good state of repair, however do be warned that even though we had a double room, the bed itself was on of those push together affairs, so there was a small crack in between the two matresses, not too much of a problem, but do be aware of it! Also very helpful on checkout, holding our bags for us until late in the afternoon to enable us to have a day out without the hindrance of a bag with us. All in all a very pleasant stay, very close to the theatres and Covent Garden...would certainly use again.

Poor greeting, otherwise fine

Hotel was reasonable price for location but room small and basic, only two flat pillows on double bed plus one big useless cushion, had to ask for more pillows, girls preparing rooms very accomodating and provided these. On arrival 4 men on reception looked at me while I looked from one to the other, it was a while before one of them spoke to me which I thought was a poor welcome, felt quite awkward. Also at breakfast a similar experience while I waited to find out if I could sit anywhere or if a table was allocated. It was not obvious who the member of staff in there was, strolling around the room, not at the door, and left me standing there too long before eventually approaching me to tell me to sit anywhere, I then had to point out I'd ordered full breakfast and had to check the menu to see what was included, this info wasn't offered , felt it was poor customer service from that point of view. Breakfast was good though.

Excellent Hotel

I would recommend this hotel. It is very central and within easy walking distance to Soho etc. The tube is only minutes away. The breakfast was very good.

Decent accommodation. Great menu. Horrible service.

The room is small, but clean. The bathroom is big, with a nice tub- just bring your own conditioner. The restaurant serves delicious upscale lounge fare, and my new favorite cocktail is the "thyme for me" but the staff seem like they've never worked in a restaurant before. SUPER slow service- we even had to cancel a drink order because the bartender disappeared. Maybe it's because I'm from New York, but I was not impressed.

Good contemporary style hotel in excellent location

We booked for one night as we were in London to see a play. The hotel was clean, stylish and well situated. Although it is in Bloomsbury its actually just off Tottenham court Road so very convenient if you prefer to walk into Soho, Oxford St. etc. The staff were helpful and friendly. Good hotel at a reasonable(ish) price for central London.

Helped me out late at night

I booked this hotel on the day for a one night stay due to a company Xmas drinks bash in London. Some of my colleagues really got into the spirit of things and missed their trains home, so I spoke to the reception at about 1am and they were very helpful in sorting out an extra room which was nice. I thought the room was great for my needs i.e. I was only going to collapse in their drunk in the earl hours and drag myself out in the morning. From what I can remember, it was clean, good decor and had everything required, although the single room was pretty small. I probably wouldnt want a singe if I was going to be in the room for any length of time. The breakfast was blooming lovely too. I had a fry up, and the poached eggs were perfect, and the all trimmings top notch. The only thing I would say, is that I dont think I would pay full rates for this, but I got it for £92 excluding breakfast which was a complete bargain in my opinion.

A noisy box

Not enough room to swing a dead cat - had to move rooms due to noise - typical London hotel experience really - way overpriced , nosiy , breakfast not included in the £175.00 per night rate plus a charge of £2.50 for I know not what - mayba a small bottle of mineral water.

All a bit boring now...

Ive stayed here a few times, in fact stayed in a lot of london hotels
at the moment id compare this place to a premier inn, where it pitches itself at being boutique, all a bit bland really.

Good but could be better

Great location the hotel is tidy and clean.
the rooms are large (for london) but could have done witha bit of modernising to bring up to date.
didnt sample food but is very expensive especially the breakfast! (but apparently very nice!!)
this is a must stay in hotel for staying in the center of london.
apart from that no complaints good hotel****

A little gem

We loved the calm and relaxing atmosphere. The music in reception was low key but subtle and stylish, and everything in the room was classy.

Very enjoyable stay

Positive:
* Very well located.
* Very clean.
* Superior double room is spacious .
A bit less positive:
* Nothing really
* A bit of decoration on the room walls would do no harm.
We had a great time!

Stayed here on a steamy London day and the room and staff were excellent and really helpful. The location was pretty good, not far from the centre and not far from the Euston. KX and St Pancras.
Pub outside a bit noisy at night, but then it was hot and the world cup was on.

Disappointed, could hav been a better experience.

The rooms are small and badly isolated for noise. However, the rooms where clean and tidy. I struggle to agree with the hotels 4 star rating, a good 3 star would be more apropriate for this hotel. On arrival we were over charged for the room, this was sorted out after speaking to laterooms.com but not by the hotel staff when we initially complained. We certainly did not feel well treated by the hotel staff throughout our stay. Top location :)
