Great atmosphere and location

Room very clean, extremely pink and flowery but unfortunately a little small. Hotel has a fab feel though and the reception rooms are stunning. Need more money to stary in a larger room!

Near Perfection

This is now our favourite hotel in London. Elegant with elegant service to match. I really can't fault it.

Mr. Ryde

The hotel had top service, friendly and helpful a all time.
The rooms are too small for that price.

Superb Hotel

We stayed at the Montague for our 25th Weddding Anniversary and could not find a fault with this hotel. The room was fantastic, the service was very friendly and efficient. Having stayed in hotels on a regular basis for the past 25 years we have to say that this is the best that we have stayed in. Cannot understand why this is not a 5 Star rated hotel. Afternoon tea is a must and the winter wonderland is worth the experience. The hotel is located in a very nice and quiet area and is only a couple of minutes walk to Oxford Street and public transport.

Very quiet room in the middle of London

Brilliant situation opposite the Britsh Musem and next to Russel Square, and one tube stop away from Kings Cross/St Pancras station.. As a result the rooms that I stayed in this year and last year were very quiet. Although I had a complimentary upgrade my single superior room was still very compact, but probably normal for London standards. Everything was spotless, cafetiere coffee ( a first) and tea/ hot chocolate provided (a first), as well as complimentary bottles of water. Breakfast was average but the evening meal was outstanding. Also enjoyed the piano entertainment in the bar.
Top marks!
For a short stay in London definitelty this is the hotel I would recommend for this area, hving stayed in Bedford Road, and the Russel Hotel in the past.

A hotel which grows on you

Not quite as much cosseting as the Milestone or Egerton House, but then not quite the same price either.
Faultless service; spotless, well-lit, well-ventilated room (if a touch on the small side); excellent bathroom; good breakfast too..
This is a hotel which grows on you, as do all of those in the Red Carnation group.

November Break

We enjoyed an excellent welcome from all the staff, Changed our room away from the lift with no fuss & continued to appreciate friendly attention. Dinner a bit pricey but it is London. Bloomsbury a good base for Theatre access & a peacefull road. Great!
Valet parking & congestion charge all handled without fuss.

Stunningly good service

A stunning hotel from the moment we walked through the door. Lovely building, beautifully located within easy walking distance of Soho, Covent Garden and Theatreland. Great room, sumptuously decorated with all amenities, nice relaxing bar area and cigar lounge. The staff were genuine, friendly and attentive and nothing was too much trouble for them. We were made to feel very special and enjoyed every aspect of our stay at The Montague to the extent that we would never stay anywhere else now when visiting London.
