Boutique really does describe this hotel well - although the room was small it was perfectly appointed and very comfortable, nice to stay somewhere where you can open the windows, a perfect location for everything we wanted to do, and very nice and quiet - no street noise or traffic. You can hear quite a bit of noise between rooms (e.g. I could hear a mobile phone vibrating upstairs in the early morning) but as it's such a small hotel that is a minor niggle. Good Molton Brown toiletries and a well stocked tea-making tray - the cafetiere and fresh coffee was a nice touch, as were the copies of Time Out in the room. The bar also looked nice but we didn't get time to try it out.

Very rarely complete reviews as I stay away once a week but for this hotel I will make an exception. This hotel is an absolute find - great location, stayed in an amazingly large 'swanky' room. The hotel staff were friendly and attentive. Overall made me feel very relaxed after a rather stressful day.

Where do I begin? I suppose like this... I make a point of reading through the reviews people give on laterooms before choosing a hotel, and there were already plenty of positives for Montagu Place Hotel. So it was with a certain level of expectation that my fiancee and I arrived at the hotel. From the very first minute of our arrival when we were greeted with a friendly smile and given a choice of the available rooms to look at before deciding which one we would take, to the point of departure, our stay there was nothing short of fantastic. The room we took (#11) was beautifully appointed; all fixtures and fittings of a very high standard and immaculately clean. (Loved the great fresh ground coffee and stylish cafetiere by the way!) Bed was super comfortable, shower powerful and no end of hot water! Great room, and loved the Molton Brown bathroom goodies too! The lobby area is lovely with a cute bar built into reception with plenty of upmarket goodies. The whole place has got that feel of a very expensive town-house/English country house off to a tee. The lounge area has big sofas just perfect to sink into and the dining room was beautiful too although we didn't take the opportunity to try out the house cuisine! All of it has been put together really tastefully and is the epitome of the perfect boutique hotel! But apart from the massive comfort factor here, what really stood out for us was the friendliness and helpfulness of all the staff. I cannot commend everyone highly enough. The hotel industry is peopled with all kind of folk but I can honestly say we felt like we were treated like royalty during our short stay! Nothing was too much to ask for and the staff there helped us out in so many ways, It was such a lovely experience staying there and as much as we'd like to keep it our little secret, I think its only fair that everyone else should know about it as well as us! Bravo Montagu Place Hotel and thank you for making us feel special!!!

I've been working in the Marylebone area for some time now and have had a miserable time with the hotels. Montagu Place was completely different: From the initial confirmation/information message which arrived no more than 5 minutes after I booked to the efficiency of check out, everything was perfect. My only problem is that at£120 it was at the upper end of what my company will pay and the rate in 2 weeks time jumps to £181 :-(

A very nice London hotel, just what we needed handy for Oxford Street and the tube. The staff were all very friendly and helpful and I would certainly stay there again.

A real find, the staff were extremely welcoming and helpful and very eager to please. The place had a real non-London homely feel and was well located for my purposes both for access to shopping and my business trip.Minor quibble was the price for a cold breakfast I felt was prohibitive as local eateries were able to provide restaurant quality for less.Overall though I was very happy.

Small hotel which is now looking a little worn.To be a boutique hotel I feel that you need to be unique or excellent at what you provide, Montagu is neither but at the same time, at £150 a night in London it was well worth the money and its quiet location is excellent. It is just the small things that are lacking that would give it the "luxury" or boutique feel and look again. i stayed in a "fancy" room, as it was described and I have to say it was a little smaller than I expected, but for people that stay in London hotels frequently, that's to be expected !!!! Finally, I think it only fair to mention the servce which was always friendly and helpful, they did an excellent job.

Excellent location for visiting central London, in a quiet side road just off Baker Street and only a 5 minute walk to the nearest tube station. The staff were very helpful and the bedroom was modern, well decorated and very clean. Reasonable value and far superior to most of the large chains for ambience and attention to detail.

Stayed in a swanky room. Bathroom was lovely; heated floor and big shower. Molton Brown products. Bar/reception area is a bit "local pub" like. You wouldn't want to go there for a drink, but, as the hotel is just around the corner from Marylebone High Street, why would you anyway. Bed was the only disapointment. We asked for a double and got two singles pushed together. I have mentioned this to the management whom were very helpful and sympathetic. I'd stay there again.

My girlfriend and I had tickets to see Patrick Wolf in the London Palladium. I booked us into a hotel in easy walking distance and we spent a night there. "Adequate" is the best word I could use to describe it. At short notice we decided to spend a second night in London; Elwern had a look on the Net and we found the Montagu. In every respect this turned out to be superior - and less expensive - to our hotel of the previous night. We are going to London again this weekend and the Montagu will be our first choice.

The room was small but acceptable for one person staying one ot two nights. Well light streets around the area and easy access to tube stations meant I felt secure in going out at night. Lots of eating options within a couple of blocks. Price acceptable with Late roms discount - not sure I would be prepared to pay full rates

I travel on business a lot and usually end up staying in larger hotels. This time my secretary booked me into Montagu Place. I was extremely happy. The customer service is on par with any 5* hotel I have stayed in. The rooms are comfy indeed, and the shower was amazing. Overall a great experience and i am certain that i will be staying there in the future when in London.

This was a lovely little hotel. The staff were very friendly, the room was comfortable and nicely decorated. Very Pier1. The only flaw (really the only one, and it is very minor): For some reason the lighting fixtures are wired so that the dim bedside lamps could only be turned on at the same time as the bright over-head halogen lamps. Strange. So if you're looking for a romantic evening, maybe bring some candles ;)

Nice hotel in a quiet part of London. Customer Service was excellent, went out of there way to ensure I enjoyed my time at the hotel.Room quality was good - spacious room, nice bathroom. Free internet, decent TV. The best part was the Cafetiere and bag of quality coffee and dunking biscuits. A nice touch. No restaurant, but you can order from a Thai menu which is delivered to your room via a Local Take-Away - sounds a little cheap but the food was really nice. Plenty of restaurants near by if you want to eat out.
