A last minute decision led to our booking a hotel room that was supposedly 5star. The room was compact, adequate but not the standard we had expected of the claim. At 7am we were woken by drilling workmen opposite our room, a reason we had decided to get away in the first place. the advertised quiet in the centre of London an illusion. I complained upon checking out, but was told nothing they could do. We won't be staying again

I enjoyed my stay at the Millenium very much. The staff were highly curteous, efficient yet friendly, the cleaniness first rate and the quality of the room very good. The central location makes it easy to get anywhere via the Underground and is ideally placed for shoppers, with Bond St and Oxford St a short walk away. I shall return if the opportunity arises.

We were surprised to be upgraded to luxury suite, which comprised a massive bedroom, a sitting room and two bathrooms. The rooms were all of a very high standard in terms of cleanliness, comfort and decor. The bed was Kingsize and extremely comfortable. The room overlooked the Grosvenor Square on the front, and the location was very convenient for Mayfair, Oxford St etc.<br />The two bars were very comfortable, with one providing a pianist in the evening. Drinks were very expensive, but I suppose this is to be expected.<br />Breakfast was a buffet-style and was all of a good quality (although there were no fried eggs!). <br />Staff were always very friendly, polite and helpful, complete with doormen and luggage valets (be prepared to tip!) and we enjoyed our stay immensely.

The first room I was put into was well furnished but very, very gloomy. It looked onto the inner courtyard and did not have adequate lighting. <br />I asked if something could be done about this and was offered a room overlooking the square which was fine.<br />The only complaint I would make is that the bed was simply enormous and took up most of the room. It would have been big enough for five and was alone. <br />My only other complaint was that when I tried to get some postage stamps from the concierge I was told that they had run out. So I asked about the nearest post office and was told that there was an hour queue there and that they could not spare the staff to go there. However, there were plenty of reception staff doing nothing and the hotel clearly had a low winter occupancy. When I went to the post office, which was just round the corner, I was served after three minutes, so the hotel's reaction seemed like rather poor service for one of its category.<br />On a more positive note the geographical position of the hotel was brilliant for shops, restaurants and theatre and so I would definitely go back if I could get get a very discounted room again.

The room was of a reasonable size for a London hotel and very nicely decorated, clean and cosy. My only negative comment is that there were no biscuits with the tea/coffee which seemed a bit mean and the parking at the NCP is very expensive at 42 per nights. I realise that this is an NCP car park but many hotels I have stayed in operate a discount scheme for guests and given there was quite a lot of space I would have thought that this could be negotiated at least for weekends.

My fiancee had booked a room as she was attending a function nearby. We both had meetings early the next day so this made sense.<br />I arrived and ordered room service and thought the room was a bit cols. After 30 mins or so it had still not warmed up despite heating being on full blast. I also don't mind the cold but this was freezing.<br />My food arrived and as I sat in my room eating it, it seemed to get colder. The Air con was now blasting out cold air. After three engineer visits they eventually agreed the heating was faulty and so moved me. I say moved me !!! A concierge arrived with a new key and said - you're now in room xxx and walked off. I had to pack up all our clothes and had to now leave my cold dinner behind and then transfer to another room with out any assistance.<br />Poor service; Poor food and wish I had booked into the Grosvenor as we usually do but thought we'd try somewhere else oout. Never again!

could not believe our luck to get this quality hotel at such a reasonable price. we expected to find our room full of builders, or with no bed, but no, it was perfect. We saw others checking out at costs of 400 -500 for one night. We only paid 99 and received much the same service. We didnt have breakfast but just outside was a wonderful little tearooms which did a wonderful choice of breakfasts in a really traditional english setting. Ideal. It was a lovely weekend and we enjoyed some time in grosvenor square before going back to change for the evening. Bar prices a little steep and the piano singer was a bit too much at times. Would love to think we could get that bargain again, but doubt if we would.

The hotel is nicely presented and in a very handy location for the west end. However, we booked for two nights and early on the first morning we were awakened by the sound of diggers and machinery. We looked out of the window and right opposite was a building site. It was very noisy, and it was very early. We had paid a lot of money to have someone look after our children and were looking forward to something called a 'lie-in'. This was impossible so I went down to reception and asked for a quiet room for the second night. I was greeted professionally, and indeed we were given a quiter and much larger room. Too late though really, why on earth were they making rooms available right opposite the building site? Apart from that very pleased with hotel. We did not eat so can't comment. We did have a drink in the Pine Bar, my girlfriend had a gin and tonic and I had a vodka red bull...twenty quid!! London is becoming very disappointing, there are no decent pubs in the area for a drink after 11pm.

Good location - just a short walk to Oxford St etc. Wasn't the luxury we expected - we've been to as good for half the price (considering this was a bargain deal!) No view as didn't pay the extra 20 but not really expecting a taxi rank outside our 1st floor window with chatting drivers from 7am! Couldn't accept my <br />Electron debit card, which was news to us, and beware the bar (we're so innocent!) - 15 for 2 martini and lemonade.

Wonderful hotel in a fantastic location. We stayed here for the evening of my partners 40th birthday whilst attending a function in Mayfair. The hotel offered us a complimentary room upgrade with a view over Grovesnor square. Fantastic. The room was excellent and the staff were courteous and efficient. A tip - if you dont want to have breakfast in the hotel, cross Grovesnor square and you'll find a little cafe called "Truc Verte " - which is typically French, great scrambled eggs with salmon !

Excellent location, new hotel with very comfortable, large beds. Bathrooms a little old-fashioned, shower over the bath, fake marble tops. Breakfast charged at 18-00 per person was too steep for us and we opted for a nearby very nice Italian cafe instead and spent 16-00 for two... UI would definatley stay again, at the very good Laterooms rate.

This hotel represented great value for money with the late deal I got (99 for a double room). The location is really convenient, only about 5-10 minutes walk from Bond Street station in a nice, relatively safe area, and the room itself was a very good size with a large and comfortable bed, and a very powerful shower. However, if I'd paid the standard price for it (nearer 250 per night advertised) I wouldn't have thought it was such good value - for a 4-star hotel some of the furnishings were slightly old and dated on close inspection (worn dark furniture, slight rust in the shower), and no biscuits to go with the coffee in the room! The lady on checkout the next morning I also felt was quite rude in her manner, she was quite snappy with me when I tried to present my card and said that they already had the details on the system, as if I should have known! I didn't eat in the hotel as it was quite expensive. But I'd certainly recommend this hotel if you can get the under 100-per night deal.

The hotel didn't seem to take our Laterooms booking very seriously and although we'd booked a double room, we walked in to find two single beds which isn't really what you want when you're there celebrating your wedding anniversary! The hotel took alot of convincing to move us to a double room and when they finally did it was nearly 2 hours later. The hotel website also talks about an NCP carpark located underneath for guests to use - what they don't tell you is it costs 42.00 to leave your car there overnight, something which we found out on our way into the car park when it was already too late to turn around!

There was excellent insulation - we couldn't hear any noise at all from the corridor or adjoining rooms. Typical amenities at sometimes astounding prices. If you manage to get a late room at a discount, and avoid using any amenities that require payment, it is a fine hotel with a responsive staff. Breakfast is the equivalent of what you should be able to purchase for about 10 dollars anywhere in London with full service, but costs approximately 40 dollars for a buffet. Great place to stay if you need to visit the embassy (which is located only a few hundred yards away) as long as you get a deal on the room.

Very helpful and friendly staff, especially the concierge even though he was obviously busy with a queue of people to look after. They had run out of standard rooms so we were bumped up to Superior, I don't think there's much difference other than being a little bigger. TV and tea/coffee facilities were fine. Able to leave luggage in seperate secure room all day after check out for FREE which was very useful! Many reviews say the rooms are small but they were fine for us (a couple) and as you would expect for a central London hotel and very tidy and clean. There was no real view from our room, but for 99 I wasn't complaining and didn't expect one. Its cheap, cheerful and actually quite smart. We didn't use the restaurant or bar, the bar prices were high compared to the pubs 1 minute walk away (but probably in line with other hotels in the area). My stay at the Millenium Mayfair with my daughter from 6th - 8th June last was perfect. This hotel was wonderful in every aspect. Location is so central. We managed to theatre (Wicked - highly recommend), London Eye, Cruise, Tower of London, Hyde Park, shop & dine comfortably within a 2 day period. All made possible by very helpful Concierge, an extremely high standard of accommodation - room spacious, quiet & pristine. Location location location is the best thing about...
Location, location, location is the best thing about this hotel. I've stayed here quite a few times over the past four years primarily because of the easy access to some of the most beautiful parts of London and the relative safety of the area. My experience in the hotel has been mixed - ranging from a shoddy room the size of a shoe box to an huge room with views over the park. I always try to get access to the Club Room which provides you with additional space and a complementary light breakfast and - most importantly - evening drinks and nibbles. The hotel staff are always helpful and will typically upgrade you whenever possible. I've don't bother with breakfast or dinner because there are so many other options that are both cheaper and more interesting - try Truc Vert which is about 100 meters away. Overall, I keep coming back so they must be doing something right -- oh and the association with Russian spies does add a little intruige to the place!

On the whole this hotel was pretty average for a hotel in Mayfair. I stayed in a twin room for the first night and a double for the second night of which i had to move all of my luggage myself after beind told this would be done for me. Unfortunatly I left a brand new cardigan in the wardrobe of the first room which apparantly now is nowhere to be found. The hotel are claiming no responsibility for this and I have suggested to them that they review their security issues.

We chose this hotel on the recommendation of previous visitors who all said it was in a marvellous location. In that respect we were not disappointed-to be so close to Selfridges and Oxford St and yet not suffer the traffic noise that accompanies such a central location makes this an unbelievable find.Check in was a minor problem as the room offered was a twin as opposed to an internet request for a double. We changed floors only to be offered a double room that had not been properly inspected and still had debris from the previous occupant.A call back to reception prompted an immediate upgrade to a junior suite without even having to ask-now that is customer service and for that reason we will visit again.Whilst we did not eat in the hotel the restaurant offered a varied menu at a reasonable price considering its celebrity chef status. Allens continental cafe nearby offered a great range of tasty snacks and sitting outside in the sun it was almost impossible to believe that this was central London on a busy Saturday afternoon.

We booked three rooms, two were fine. We stayed for one night after having our daughter's wedding in the ballroom. There was a constant humming from a generator in the garage all evening. At 6.45 am builders started work in two bedrooms opposite and at 8.30 am a maid rang the doorbell. <br />The hotel is beautiful however with very friendly staff, but it is a shame that the reception staff allocated a bedroom near rooms where building took place.<br />When we complained it turned out that the room was complimentary anyway as it came with the function but we were not advised of this by the hotel.

In terms of location and convenience, it doesn't get much better. A short walk is all it takes to reach the hustle and bustle of Oxford Street / Bond Street. The hotel is of a good standard and the staff friendly and accomodating. We were given a complimentary room upgrade and although the room itself was very nice and of a generous size, the decor is a little tired. But does it really matter? It ticked all the boxes in terms of what we were looking for in a hotel. Out only disappointment and this was our fault, we chose to eat at the Japanese Shogun rather than Brian Turner's restaurant. The food at the Shogun was very nice but there was no real atmosphere. Next time we will book in at Brian Turner's.

Friendly staff at the hotel checked us in without any fuss. I'd not stayed here previously or even heard of the hotel until I did a same day booking with Laterooms. I'd read positive comments but was still a bit weary. My anxiety was increased when I saw large amounts of construction work taking place outside the hotel but I was pleasantly surprised when I checked in.<br />We were out on the town in Soho and walked back to the hotel with no problems in the early hours of the morning - It's a good location for getting about. I've stayed at the Intercontinental Hotel just down the road many times before at twice the cost I paid for the Millennium. I think that the bar at the Intercontinental was probably better in terms of warmth and ambience but at half the cost (really!), I can easily find comfort the Millennium when staying on that side of town.<br />The room was an average size London Hotel room, not cramped at all and with clean decor. I didn't have the chance to try out any of the food and I can't really comment on family friendliness. I was surprised that I wasn't disturbed by any noise from traffic or outside work in the morning. The hotel is a nice distance from Park Lane to avoid the noise from the traffic which seems to be constant down there.<br />I would certainly recommend it as value for money (I paid 112) - there's B&B's which charge the same amount for smaller rooms and worse locations.<br />
