Disappointing

The staff were friendly and helpful. Not least assisting in sorting the air conditioning stuck on hot!
However the cost of the very cramped room with a convex shaped bed and rock hard pillows ensuring minimum sleep did not even justify the discounted cost. Never again.

Millennium Hotel

I booked the millennium hotel as it was the closest hotel to the shopping places i wanted to visit.
The hotel was lovely and the staff were very pleasant. However, the room they had given us was not what i expected at all. The wooden door frames and skirting were all chipped and could do with a lick of paint, the carpet was frayed in places,it looked like it hadnt been dusted for a week and when the maid had cleaned the room, the cups were left with the tea in from the previous night. Not what i expected for a 4 star hotel on Sloane Street in the heart of Knightsbridge!!!!

Mixed messages

As non smokers were put into a smoking room without being asked. The televisions did not work as they were being updated again no mention of this when booking. service was slow at the most of times with the promise of `we`ll get back to you` eventually our stay was pleasant, the breakfasts were pretty good and good service there. I'ts location is an excellent base if nothing else as a four star hotel i think a few improvements wouldnt go amiss like wifi which is pretty standard now. overall i give it a 7 out of 10

Expensive Knightsbridge hotel

Accepting the hotel location was excellent the value for money was not. We were in a room about the size of a standard house third bedroom and the price of breakfast was unbelievable at £17.50 per head. Good thing is that out of the rear doors and turn right for 50 yards and there is a great Italian cafe doing a great breakfast for less then £5.00 so go there. Hotel suited what we wanted but there are cheaper better hotels in the area.

No free WIFI, staff walk into your room without warning

The staff seemed to come into my room as they pleased and I was walked in on by a chambermaid and by a male staff member when I was in my underwear at about 10am & 11am on the day I was checking out. I never complained but I wish I had, they should not be allowed intrude on customers like this and I would never stay in a hotel where your room is a free for all. There was no reason for me to lock the door because they'd just unlock it and walk in anyway without warning!

Dated and dirty

Apparently we were upgraded but the room felt very old. The wallpaper was peeling off the walls and the window wouldn't shut fully so the wind whistled through it all night. The mattress must have been 10 years old and there was no spring left in it at all. Very uncomfortable and very disspointing considering the cost.

Shabby Rooms, Not worth the money

We were taken to our room, the carpet had a hole in it where an iron had been dropped! The glasses had not been cleaned in a while, as there was a thick layer of dust on them. The bathroom has exposed electrics, and paintwork.
We complained, the staff were not apologetic at all, we were treated more as a nuisance!
The hotel is definitely past its sell by date!

Not a 4 star hotel more like 3

My wife and I stayed at the Millennium hotel for my wife's 40th birthday treat. I booked the weekend as a surprise. Unfortunately the hotel did not live up to my expectations.
OK the positive, the hotel is in a good location, the whole of London is at easy reach. The hotel is situated in the heart of Knightsbridge so plenty of opulence as you would expect.
We stayed in a superior room. The room was well furnished and well presented. The bed was comfortable but the pillows had seen better days. Bathroom OK, looking a little tired and needing redecoration.
The negative, Bar and Dining areas are terrible, not inviting at all. We paid for cooked breakfast for two days, £70 for the two of us, this was a mistake. The dining area is poorly lit and the furniture has seen better days. The staff aren't very well trained so service is poor. The food is average, I've had better in a Disney hotel! In hind sight I should have gone for room only and walked around corner to Harrods and had breakfast there for the same price but with all the trimmings!
To summarise, the Hotel is OK for room only and i would award it 3 stars not 4, disappointing for the price I paid.

Really good experience

I had to wait a long time to check in which was not a good experience as I was very tired as I had a very busy stressful morning and then was told that the room wasn't ready. I was then asked to wait in the foyer for ten minutes. After 5 minutes the receptionist came over and informed me that they had upgraded me to a suite. I was so thrilled and the suite was lovely. This actually made my stressful overnight stay into a most pleasant experience. Thankyou.

Family Break in London

We were a family of four including two teenagers. The rooms (1008 & 1018) were nicely furnished and clean but very small, swinging a cat is out of the question, especially in the bathrooms.
The air conditioning didn't work in one room (1018), hot or hotter, but to be fair I didn't have chance to let them know at reception so they could fix it whilst we were there, only told them as we were leaving.
A lot of the electrical plug sockets were round pin and therefore useless to a UK traveller. The few square pin sockets were under the desk and only half of them worked so after scrabbling about on my knees I had to unplug the phone/modem so that I could charge a laptop and a phone at the same time. I wouldn't have thought it too hard to put a couple of standard UK sockets easily accessable at desk height.
All the staff we met were very friendly and curteous. We only ate breakfast at the hotel which were excellent, but then they should be for the price.
Over-all a decent enough hotel for a short London break and handily placed for Harrods and Knightsbridge shopping as well as the Picadilly line tube but, as with all London hotels, overpriced for what it offers.

A minor issue

The hotel is smart, well located and the staff were exceptionally helpful - my only issue is that the room smelled a bit of cigarette smoke but not so much that i felt obliged to complain - however on returning home everything in my suitcase positively reeks of cigarettes - i wish places would be explicit about smoking policy!

Not a bad price for London, but uncomfortable room due to elderly air conditioning, which made more noise than cool air. Quirky plumbing, old - fashioned TV and indiscriminate lighting, room safe not working - but clean room and good location.

A let down

First time we have stayed in London, and this hotel was a real disapointment. We were kept waiting until 4.30 for our rooms to be ready but not once offered an apology. The desk staff were very unfriendly and clearly just going through the motions..The rooms were ok ,but the obvious glue sticking down peeling wallpaper ,and shabby feel were not expected for a 4* hotel. The evening room service was good ,but the breakfast was so cold and so poor we refused to pay,it was definately not worth the £24.50.Over all ,it was a good location, and it served us for one night, but i would never waste money on this hotel again.

Our stay in Millenium Knightsbridge.

The hotel has a fantastic location. 3 minutes walk to Harrods and it's on Sloane Street alongside Gucci, Prada, Chanel; you name the brand, it's all there. A convenient place to stay if you like shopping.
The the staff working in the lobby, ie; reception and concierge, were great. Always helpful and pleasant.
However, the room was very disappointing. Was small and not well ventilated. We had our room serviced everyday. But it always has reminants of trash lying around even after cleaning. One night we came back to the room finding the toilet without toilet roll. Pringles from the mini bar were half consumed by the previous guest and housekeeping staff apparently did not bother to check if things were in order before the next guest check in.
Overall, this hotel is good if you are hardly in it.
