On arrival we were informed hotel was overbooked & we were obviously allocated a room which had been booked by an airline. Tiles were broken in bathroom, room was cold & we had to phone maintenance to sort it. Twice after room had been cleaned we had not been left tissues or toilet roll. My sister & I had booked B&B & for the 3 mornings we were told I hadnt booked breakfast & each morning I had to get staff from reception to confirm my booking. I had stayed at this hotel preciously & had enjoyed my stay, feel standards have slipped & staff dont care as much about the client.

Its a number of years since I last stayed in the Gloucester Hotel. It was good back then but it is even better now. Immensely helpful, friendly. and efficient staff. Calm, peaceful environment throughout.
Good choice of excellent tasty food, and a delightfully discrete cocktail bar. The bedroom was very clean and comfortable, and well soundproofed. The hotel is also conveniently located across the road from a tube station, making travel easy. Excellent value for money ! I thoroughly recommend it.

Rooms could do with a refurb !

Outwardly the hotel looked the part , but l was disappointed with the state of the interior . It looked like the rooms had had a ' part refit ' but not all the way through . Generally though , for a central London Hotel , very close to many amenities and not overpriced it was OK . The Bombaty Brasserie and Olives are next door which offer great dining and atmosphere .

The hotel is very nice. Staff excelllent. We were in room 229 and even though I emailed to ask for a renovated room after reading trip advisor reviews, we were given a room over the car park which was very noisy, no double glazing and bathroom needed an update - scruffy! However, breakfast and waiting staff were excellent and I would stay again.

The hotel looks a bit grubby from the side outside but it's totally different when you walk down the driveway to the reception + inside the hotel. Staff were very helpful + friendly. The bar was really expensive (£3.50 for 200ml coke) but obviously you don't have to drink there! The minibar in the room was on but empty with a note to say that you are welcome to use for your own things. There was a Tesco express across the road making it very useful! It is in a great location, Gloucester Road tube station is 100yds away and there are several restuarants to choose from close by. We found an Italian called Wildwood very close by that was also very nice + good value for money. We would definitely recommend.

Our visit

We left the hotel at 10 am on Saturday morning and returned at 3-30 and our room had not been cleaned. We phoned housekeeping and someone was sent straight away to clean the room. However we were surprized that in a 4 star hotel our room was missed., we have stayed here before and have been completly satified. The location of the hotel is excellent , and we will stay again!!!!

Stick with hilton, you know it makes sense

Upon arriving,we were given a twin room,we requested a double when applying online,i had to show the receptionist my e,mail as proof,,a wee bit embaracing,,then she had to check with her manager we were told one would be available at 8pm
When we returned to our room at 7pm,a porter was in our room changing our twin beds into a doudle set up by pushing them together and zipping the quilts together,,,and we wernt told about it.
Next morning we were woke at 9am,to see if we were checking out,,,ehh no not until 12pm as stated on themail,,i complained to the manager and he told me the porter got the wrong room,,,i will stick to my usual hilton in kensington the next time!

Excellent

Everything was brilliant until I wanted to use the business centre, where I was met with a young lady who obviously did not enjoy the job, she was unhelpful and it meant I wasted 1 pound to access the Internet and could not print my tickets as they were a PDF, that I understand however she did not even suggest any alternative, when I suggested an idea she was just obnoxious. That spoilt my great experience, all the other staff were great. I would stay agin but not use the business centre. I feel the member staff need training in customer service.

Average Hotel

You get the impression that this hotel is quite posh what with its top hatted concierges on stand by at the doors, but as you pass all the glamour and glitz that has been spent on the reception area and enter your room, you find the accomodation very average indeed. The bathroom grouting is old and mouldy, the room decor is in need of updating, walls are in need of soundproofing and the price of breakfast(£21.50 each)just ridiculous.Worse still is the parking(£37.50 per night!!!!!),based on a first come first served basis.I had worked out that it was cheaper to take the car and park it much reluctantly in the hotel, however, when we arrived at 2pm we were told that the car park was full .At £155 per night not including breakfast or parking,i would be very reluctant to stay here again.

Loved my room but was disturbed by loud wedding reception

I had a very good stay, room was excellent in size and comfort. The breakfast is varied and of a high standard. Location of the hotel is very convenient being just around the corner from Gloucester Road Underground station. Just turn right and you will see the hotel. Waitrose and Tesco Local are beside the station so that is very handy, also a variety of places to eat.
I ate at their Italian restaurant in the adjoining hotel, but the food was not very good and I would not use it again.
My room was on the 4th floor overlooking the central courtyard, at first it was very quiet but in the evening a wedding reception took place in a glass structure there, and this was very noisy and went on till 11.20 pm. I was unable to sleep until this function was over. So this is something to keep in mind if noise would disturb you.
I enjoyed my stay and would be happy to book there again but would try to avoid the noise issue.
The location is excellent and in my opinion it is a great area to stay in.

Poke hole

For almost £300 we were given little more than a box room with minimum furniture most of which was far too big for the room and for us. The bath/shower had a sloping wall that made us feel claustrophobic. The toilet flush didn't work and it was over an hour before it was fixed - properly done and a nice guy, we got £50 off for our inconvenience (no pun intended).

All show and no substance

This was my first and last visit to this hotel.
I paid £200+ for a kingsized room. Initially we were given a disabled room with a terrible view from the window, and an awful bathroom. The sink was knee high, and the shower was surrounded by a sad looking shower curtain - Yuk!
We immediately complained and were asked if we would take a room with 2 single beds pushed together...errrr....NO!
We were told we were being upgraded to a club room....again, pretty awful.
I have stayed in far better hotels in the City, in better locations and paid less for the privilege.
Don't waste your money here

Millenium Gloucester Hotel

Stayed here whilst attending Royal Albert Hall - nice hotel - upgraded to Millenium club guest for an extra £40. Good service. Bathroom ok, clean but looked like a trainee had been at the grouting! Room was good size, great bed, tea and coffee - no biscuits though for the price would've been nice.
Breakfast in morning plenty of choice although cooked brekkie wasn't overly warm - extremely busy but was tasty and plenty of it. Would recommend the hotel and stay again - at lateroom prices not the full price!

The Millenium - comfortable and luxurious London accommodation, close to Gloucester Rd tube.

The entrance foyer is grand but welcoming and although there are many guests milling around, there is never a sense of crowding. The rooms are well kitted out and peaceful, although the hotel is central and close to busy roads. Beware of the mini bar, which is fitted with sensors though. If you remove items to place other items for cooling, you can be charged! The Reception manager was very helpful and provided a good customer service.

The hotel was in prime location for the Tube station. i was very pleased how close it was and how easy it was to get about and how many tubes went to the G-Road Station.
The one point i thought could be changed would be the price of Drinks in the hotel bar. rather high however the food was amazing.
The casino was great and you also got a free voucher for a drink for staying in the hotel.

Depends what's more important for you when travelling

Good choice if you are looking at the price, the location and reasonable room size.
However, senior staff at the front desk is not too friendly when answering queries regarding returning bond for the each room.
The hotel room service staff also ignored the 'do not disturb' sign on the door. They actually knocked and entered your rooms, although they said sorry after seeing me there. It is quite out of my expectation for a world chain hotel as it makes me feel unsafe as normally we may keep things unlocked if I just want to go & get a map from the reception desk.
Also, there is no weighting scale. Imagine how badly you need this after all the Christmas sale shopping.
Pls note tipping is expected if you want to get more friendly services.

The hotel was in an excellent location and has on site parking.
However - when we arrived there was no record of our booking. Luckily we had taken a print out. We were offered an upgraded room BUT it was not in keeping with a four star hotel. The room was small and basic. When we booked online it said we had saved over £200 - if that room was worth over £300 I would be amazed.
The hotel facilities were good though and the location was wonderful. The tube station was a minutes walk away and there were lots of local restaurants and pubs.
We would definitely stay here again if we could book at a discounted price as it was very good value for money.
