We came off a long am arrival flight...
We came off a long 6.15am arrival flight and were hoping for an early check-in at Millenium Gloucester. After initially being treated very brusquely by one reception staff member who seemed quite put out that we should arrive so early, we returned an hour or so later to another staff member who was very obliging. We have no major complaints about the staff.

Just a one night stay to visit V & A. We were in deluxe room, not that the room itself was deluxe but we did have access to private lounge, which was wonderfully staffed and offered a peaceful haven after doing some of the "sights" The food and drink in this lounge was included in the price so tea, fresh fruit and cakes whenever we wanted, and wine in the evening. Took breakfast here as we just wanted "continental" Staff in this lounge were superb.

Excellent location, right next to gloucester road tube station, restaurants nearby, the hotel staff were very helpful in recommending local places to eat. Waitrose and Tesco, Starbucks within a few metres walk. The room was spacious and quiet.

It may be a 4* hotel but the room was not:small by comparison to others; old chipped furniture; a chair with little padding; a fridge that was warm. The deal on Laterooms was clearly designed to shift a room that would not command the hotel's normal rate.

We paid £280 in total for a 3 night, 4 day stay. This hotel was efficient, in an excellent location. The staff were fantastic, from the doorman to the reception staff. The quality was excellent and the rooms were very well appointed. The food was excellent and plentiful. A perfect base for exploring london, based in an up market area. Good for late night meals after the theatre and coffee shops. Tube entrance is 1 min walk away.

On arrival we found we needed a room with shower only as the bath was not suitable for the friend I travelled with. The Duty manager was very helpful and everything was arranged with the minimum of fuss. We also had a slight problem (ours not the hotels) with the heating and that was dealt with very efficiently. The hotel was ideally situated next door to Gloucester Road Tube station and in a lovely area, about 20 minute walk from Harrods and 10 minutes from Kensington Gardens. All the staff we encounted were very helpful and friendly. But I would advise you book your own taxi/car if you need one as it can be expensive to do it through the hotel. Likewise our price didnt include breakfast which would have been quite expensive if you are not a big breakfast eater. There are cafes and supermarkets on the doorstep to accommodate this. We stayed a week for a very reasonable price through laterooms.com and would happily recommend this hotel to anyone.

Convenient location next to a tube station, several more hotels around, nice safe neighbourhood, 2 supermarkets, Burger King, Starbucks and several other restaurants just across the street. Took the "Standard Twin" room as a last minute offer. Upon arrival and getting into the room, the door would not lock upon shutting (card system), and the lamp was broken, so I had to change the room. No problem with that, however I expected more courtesy from the receptionist in charge. In the other room, the air temperature would not rise even with air-condition on maximum. However the weather was not so cold (March 2010) so I did not raise the issue. The hotel is otherwise very pleasant (4 stars). Did not use the restaurant. I am not sure if I would be content if I had paid the full price (this was a last-minute offer).

You are greeted with an imposing lobby but the rooms were very “tired” in much need of a makeover! However, as I was out and about all the time the location at that price was the most important factor. As long as there are clean sheets (which there were) a lick of paint would suffice to keep the cost down.

The hotel is very convenient for South Ken etc. and next to Gloucester tube station. We have stayed here before and had good experiences. The price of £75 per night was an offer and good value for London. Breakfast (not included) is usually good when we've had it before but pricey at £15 each so this time we went out to local diner and ate for less than half the cost. The room was a good size and well equiped but a bit worn (tap leaking and shower rather feeble - it dribbled rather than sprayed) and there was a noticeable smell of tobacco smoke. Probably we could have changed rooms but didn't want the hassle.

The Hotel is located few steps away from the underground (green line and blue line will take you to the city center in 10 min), there are several attractions close to the hotel, and restaurants and bars are in the surroundings. SW london is very safe (the location is a bit posh) The hotel´s service was excellent, even at 3am they help us to get an elec. adaptor. The restaurant -room service is available 24hrs, rooms are in excellent conditions, and are fully equiped (hair dryer, iron etc..). The concierge was extremely helpful, and gave us extra tips on how to make our stay even better in London. We really had good time and we are definitively coming back to this hotel.

My partner and I stayed at the Millennium...
My partner and I stayed at the Millennium Gloucester for three nights in February and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The hotel staff are true professionals in their field: polite, courteous and very helpful; I cannot fault them. The hotel itself is very nicely presented. Our room was an Executive Double, which was a bonus considering we had paid for only a Standard Double; it was large, comfortable, and very clean. The only criticism we had was that, oddly, there was no dressing table mirror, so my partner had to "put on her face" sitting on the foot stool in front of a long mirror on the side of the wardrobe; but this was trivial. We did not book breakfast with the room, as it seemed rather expensive at £17.50 each, which would have amounted to £105 for both of us to eat breakfast for the three days we were there. One can find much better breakfast options for less money even in the heart of Kensington where the hotel is located. The hotel is actually just behind Gloucester Road underground station and there are many places to eat nearby. We walked to South Kensington (10 mins) and ate in a boulangerie selling fantastic breads, cakes and meals, including breakfast, at a much more reasonable price than the hotel. We ate outside the hotel in the evenings, so I cannot comment on the hotel's food at all. From the hotel, Portobello Road/Notting Hill is around a 35-40 mins walk away. The museums (V & A, Natural History, Science) are 10 mins walk, and Knightsbridge is about 20 mins walk.As I've said. we really enjoyed our stay. We were in London for the weekend to celebrate my birthday, and I couldn't have picked a better hotel for the money we spent (approx £270 for 3 nights, when the usual hotel tariff is about £270 per night). It's an excellent hotel to use for a short city break. A "proper" hotel in a great location.

We needed a last minute room over Velentines Weekend and this was the only good offer in terms of price The staff were fairly friendly and the room modern with nice decor. The main downside was the noise from the street. There was no double glazing and it sounded as if the window was open. Apart from this not a bad stay and recommeneded for a quick overnight cheap stay in London.

A good quality hotel but value for money only at the Laterooms price! Very good situation with Tube station just around the corner. No instructions on how to adjust bedroom temperature and the heating/cooling was in any case barely adequate. Bathroom was gloomy and inadequately lit but by contrast the bedroom was bright, well-presented and very well lit.

And I must say that laterooms were extremely helpfull and made booking and searching for a hotel stress free and I will be using them again..thank you!!
