We arrived about 7.00 pm after booking a double deluxe for a very low price only to upgraded to an amazing suite!! The hotel is beautiful and the room was huge!!Just a shame our stay was short so did not get a chance to sample the food or the facilities.Only one tiny thing the water pressure of the shower was not great, but that is being really fussy.Would not think twice about staying again.

I have never stayed at this type of hotel before and indulged myself, following illhealth, when business called me to London. Perhaps I expected a lot but felt that I was put into an 'also ran' room to get the custom. There were no comfy chairs and the desk chair was cracked and worn. Light bulbs were missing or not working and I felt that I dimmer switch was needed. The bathroom light switch was nowhere near the bathroom and needed hunting for.
On the plus side, the room staff worked to a very high standard and the complimentary mini-bar and toiletries were well stocked.

Got a good deal which made it a value for money stay. Decent 4 star hotel. Staff struggled to cope effectively with an extremely busy breakfast time on Sunday, but Monday was fine! Spotless, comfortable room, bathroomlooking a little tired. Less than a minute walk from Gloucester Road tube. Parking was 35/24hrs, but very easy to reach from motorway, secure and part of the hotel itself. Not a brilliant selection of bars/restaurants in immediate surround, but as tube so close didn't matter. Would recommend if this is the part of city you want to access.

Positives: Good room service (food and delivery), good service and breakfast in the Club lounge.
Negatives: Curtain wouldn't draw properly (reported to hotel), window not double glazed and street noise intrusive but, worst of all, insufficiently insulated connecting door to ajoining room meant that I could hear every conversation and phone call of my neighbour.

Check-in was less than welcoming. My room was small and dark, but most importantly at the end of a small service corridor which appeared to be in constant use. I asked to be moved; this took both considerable time and was done reluctantly. I was refused a room on upper floors as these were Executive and so not available to me. Both my colleagues had rooms on these floors and we made a block booking. Service in the bar was efficient, but lacked friendliness or any regard for customer relations. Breakfast was poor quality for this standard of hotel and again service was poor.

After I wrote such a poor review about my Millenium Baileys stay in January, it is only fair to write a review about the Millenium Gloucester.
Fantastic hotel. Staff excellent. Room very good, even if a little formal / business like !!. Had room service, which to my surprise was amazing, the presentation was superb, on a big table trolly. The taste was even better, all hot food, equal to some pub restaurants.
The only small complaint, and it is small, was that there was only 1 bin in the bathroom, I could have done with a bin in the main room.
I will definatley be staying at this hotel again. I have found a great hotel, in a great location so there will be no need for me to look at other places to stay on my many visits to London.

Excellent hotel, right opposite tube station. We booked a standard room but was suprised to find the room was business club which accomodated 2 king sized beds. LCD TV, mini bar ....the usuals. Nicely decorated rooms and very comfortable beds. Didnt eat at breakfast which was a bonus as the queue was huge! But went to a very nice cafe/bistro across the way (Lily's) which served mega breakfasts and cakes and great service too. Only quibble was shower pressure was very low, but there is always a bath! Would definately stay again.

A great location and value for money wasn't to bad as I got it for 99. The reception area is nice, clean and quite impressive. The bar area small and not overly welcoming. The first room I was given was absolutely awful. I asked for non smoking and the minute I opened the door I was hit with this cold, stale smell of smoke. The room was tiny and very very plain. Needless to say I didn't even put my bag down. I was then given a room on the 5th floor (the business floor by all accounts) and I have to be honest, it was bland also. If I had paid full rate for this hotel I would be very disappointed. If you are on a flying visit, in and out in a day or two and spending most of your time out and about then it's ok. If you want somewhere to relax, read the papers and be waited on hand and foot then I'd look elsewhere. The staff at check in and in the bar were pleasant and friendly but the rooms really let this place down.

I did not like the fact that the room had only three table lights an dno central lighting, it made it very difficult to read and I could not see papers I needed to work on. The rooms are small and darkly furnished. The hotel has a strong middle eatern flavour to it in its background music which frankly irritated me. The staff however are lovely and friendly and te foyer and public areas wide and clean and they had a lovely piano player in the evening. But the important thing for me staying on busienss is that the rooms are right, and I can work, so in this respect the hotel did not work for me.
Didn't eat there so can't comment on the food. TV wouldn't work (problem as it was Wimbledon!!) but they got it fixed promptly. Bed and pillows too hard. Other than those 2 litle comments everything was great, very prompt at checking in which is unusual in London. Internet access for 6.50 for 60 mins in the room which was good. There is a fantastic little place to eat round the corner, exit hotel fron door, turn left then left at the corner, go past the Steak place on the corner (with that on your left) and it's a couple of doors away....Mexican people, had breakfast there......superb!!

Booked 2 rooms for my wife and I, also my mother and Aunt. Arrived early morning (11am), so room not available but checked in and parked car. Location is superb next to the tube station but rooms were quiet. When did check in had to change one room as a double not twin, got upgrade, was a smoking room but well aired so could not tell. Previously stayed at Millenium Baileys next door, that is a little more individual but also a little more pricey. Will stay at either again if deal through website.

As with many hotels, the room was too hot (23.5 degrees) and the air conditioning system poor and noisy. Setting a lower temperature on the control made no difference at all to the actual room temperature. Pillows were all too thick. A mix of thick and thin would be more sensible. Hotel operators seem to forget that the most important thing about a stay in a hotel is a good nights sleep, which requires a cool temperature, quiet room and comfortable bed. The Millennium Gloucester had none of these and was also poor value for money.

the hotel was lovely, really helpful staff who couldnt do enough, only the room let the hotel down, sellotape held the window shut, loose tiles in the bath room and the sink wasnt clean. as im sure the hotel management would agree, this is not up to the hotels usually high standards and i feel slighly let down by these issues.

As is unfortunate in all London hotels when you book a room at a discounted price through an 3rd party the rooms given are always the least favourable the Millenium did just that. The hotel was not full but I still ended up in a small room overlooking the conservatory in which there was a function the noise from which reverbrated around my room, after being told the party would go until midnight I requested a room change which I got. Rooms are good. There was no restaurant in the hotel when I enquired I was directed to outside restaurants. So in conclusion as a single person on buisness I will not use the hotel again.

We had good impressions on arrival at The Millennium Gloucester - the lobby and Reception areas are very impressive. Unfortunately, we experienced a couple of disappointments during our stay. Firstly, on arrival, we were allocated a room on the 2nd floor which looked as though the previous guest had departed in somewhat of a hurry as the bedsheets were thrown back and rubbish was strewn around the room. We made our way back to Reception to ensure we had read the right number on the slip and was informed we had. We were offered a quick apology once we had explained that the room was not ready for guests and were allocated a room on the 4th floor.
On arrival at this room we found that there was no iron available, despite having requested this prior to arriving and also at check-in. I then called hotel services and explained we needed an iron ASAP (as I had a business meeting to get to and needed to press my clothes ASAP), it took some time for the lady on the phone to understand there was no iron in the room and continued to repeat that all rooms had irons! The other disappointment happened later that night as I had ordered a caesar salad from room service - only to find quite a large piece of sellophane nestled between the lettuce and covered in caesar sauce!
For a 4-star deluxe hotel, I would also have expected all light bulbs in the room to be fitted and working.
On a positive note, the Concierge was excellent. Very helpful and informative and always polite and attentive.
Would I recommend this hotel to a friend? Probably. I believe everyone deserves a second chance and am prepared to give the Millennium Gloucester the benefit of the doubt on this occasion - for every bad experience there are probably 100 good. It would; however, have gone some way to smooth my ruffled feathers had I been offered more than a quick apology by the Receptionist.
The hotel is in a great location with easy access to the tube (Gloucester Road) within a minute's walk... turn right out of the tube station and the hotel is just across the road - so a great base should anyone wish to see the London sights and there are some fabulous restaurants in the South Kensington area.
