London visit

Location of the hotel is excellent next to Gloucester Road Tube with plenty of taxis. Very good breakfast. Hotel lacks a sitting area and the bar was usually very busy.

Overnight stay

I was surprised and disappointed that breakfast was not included in my overnight stay at this hotel. The cost of this hotel is high for an average room and if you want anything to eat or drink you have to pay extra - very odd that breakfast is not included. I will not be staying here again, it's just not worth the money. The bed wasn't very comfortable and there was nothing remarkable about the hotel.

Baileys Hotel

Handy for the tube.
Room size reasonable for London
Bathroom appearance a little tired
No sound from TV after powering off / on eventually sound returned but occurred a second time.
Shower not especially hot. And after some attempt at adjustment the temperature the shower began making a very loud vibrating noise. Sorry of you were in the neighbouring rooms.

Weekend break

I thought the hotel very good value for money . We did get a free upgrade and the room was very spacious and well equipped . Breakfast was of a high quality and the staff very efficient. We did not eat here but had cocktails in the bar and again the staff were very efficient and friendly.
The hotel being next to the tube means it is actually more convenient to get around London than more central hotels. I have stayed in a number of more expensive hotels with work over the years in London and I would rate this one of the best stays I have experienced I would definately use again and recommend to my colleagues.

Disappointed

Ours was a 'special occasion' stay and I booked a 'club room'. Unfortunately the room did not match up to the online photo and the 'club' was chilly on the saturday and unavailable on the sunday. I am usually loath to write unflattering reviews, however, I did email the hotel about my 'disappointment' a week ago and have yet to receive a response. Shame as overall we enjoyed our stay and the staff were attentive and helpful. My negative reply to 'would you stay here again?' and 'would you recommend this hotel to a friend?' are more to do with the lack of response than the overall experience.

Convenient and comfortable place to stay in London

Walk out of Gloucester Rd tube station and there the hotel is - you really can't miss it.
The room was comfortable and well equipped, although the only socket that we could find that the kettle would plug into was by the entrance door to the room. Would have served the "House Keeping" cleaner right if she had scalded her foot on it when she came barging in at 8.15am on Sunday morning to try and clean the room!
The TV control is over complicated as well - need to navigate several menus just to turn on normal TV programmes.
The bed was comfortable, staff were friendly and helpful, and a good breakfast was included in the price. We didn't dine at the restaurant, but it seems to have a good reputation and if we had been staying longer, or if the weather had been worse, we would have tried it.

Good location and vfm for city hotel

Check out the hotel cat! We had a standard room on 4th floor which was light, large, overlooked a side street and was quiet. The staff were friendly and helpful, everything was basic 4* quality which was perfectly adequate. Glos Rd underground station was opposite the hotel entrance so easy to get about and there were plenty of eateries and bars in walking distance. If you want to walk there are quiet streets and the park isn't far. We'd stay again.

Great location and comfortable

So close to the tube at Gloucester Road that you can easily find it, but also a quiet place to stay, for London. On the Piccadilly line, so easy to get into the West End. Good buffet breakfast and comfortable room with flat screen TV and little luxuries like bath robes. Price was reduced by a deal which made it affordable. Staff attentive and Reception staffed all the time.

Great hotel, excellent value for money compared to a lot of London hotels and great service. Best for me though was that check in was not until 2pm, but we arrived at the hotel at 10am just to drop off our bags, but as our room was ready they let us check in early at no extra cost.

Scottish

The Millenium Baileys is an ideal base in London. On a side street adjacent to Gloucester Road Underground Station its easy to get to and with the Piccadilly, District and Circle lines all accessable from this station, you can be anywhere in the West End within 30 minutes. The Olive bar is manned with very attentive staff and has a happy TWO hours every day that helps to ease the financial pain of Londons high prices a little. For a change we visited the Millenium Gloucester next door which has a piano bar. Our room was the basic double which was comfortable and well equiped but had an unusual toilet arangement which necesitated a sideways shuffle to be able to use the loo. You could not stand in front of the loo for fear of burning your derriere on the hot towel rail on the wall directly in front. My wife actually did. Whilst I found this quite comical someone with a lesser sense of humour mind find this unacceptable.

A Farce

This was a nightmare of a quiet weekend away for my wife. we never got to stay where we had booked and moved to the sister hotel, we wanted a quiet nice hotel to relax away from the children but ended up with a hotel full of christmas and birthday party's.they charged me TWICE for the hotel room which wasnt even in our check in name, the room was alicated to someone else. breakfast was included in our deal but wasnt given to us.i had to spend more time sorting this out.then when i did and go for breakfast they couldnt find us as our room was in a different name.i then had to spend MORE time at reception trying to point out we had payed twice for the room, but again they couldnt find 2 payments as it was AGAIN my room was under a different name. i must have spent HALF a day of our 2 night away sorting out ALL the problems and the room we did get was not up to 4 star. i have stayed at better 2 and 3 star hotels as in room quality.i could go on but i dint think there is any point. oh and after all the wasted time and frustrations not even a sorry from the staff.

Ive used this hotel quite a lot over the years and it's always been of a consistent standard. The bar and dining facilities are not the best, however there is a phenomenal Indian restaurant right next door. Very handy for the tube network (Gloucester Road) and parking very nearby in the sister hotel the Millennium Gloucester.

Location location

The hotel is in a great location next to tube and has good facilities in the area. The bar is pleasant for a hotel and attracts non residents too. My room was big and had all the things you would expect however the bathroom was tiny and my mattress dipped dramatically in the middle so could do with an up grade. Otherwise i was happy with my 7 nights stay and will be returning again.

Location!!

Visited in April2011, 9 days before the royal wedding to attend a conference at my employers expense and rated the hotel highly. Six months later when I needed a hotel with a great London location for a city break with speedy access to the sights, museums and shopping, I knew this hotel would be perfect and sure enough my wife was delighted. Don't underestimate the importance of being literally right next door to a tube station that serves three principal lines. A fantastic hotel, a fantastic city break.

Millenium Baileys - Kensington

I came out of Gloucester Road Tube and there was the hotel - perfect. It's really pretty, lots or ornate carving, and a sweeping staircas. Our room was big enough - with a decent sized bathroom. It was clean, the twin beds were wonderful; the linen was in the 400 threads psi range, so both my sister and I got a really good nights sleep. The air con was quiet - and the room was light - which is something thats really important to us.
Breakfast was included with our room rate and there was plenty of choice. It was a bit more expensive that I would ordinarily go for - but as a treat, it was worth it - it's classy, elegant and relaxed and it's in a great location. We staggered back from a concert on the Sunday night, slept, had a very good breakfast in a room overlooking the bustling streets, and it took about 10 minutes to walk to the Victorian and Albert Museum. Wish we had been able to stay another night!

A very tired hotel with take or leave it staff

We had to change rooms because the bathroom door wouldn't close properly and there was a problem with the water and the rooms were in need of updating.
The attitude of the staff was not helpful at all and only reluctantly did they "find another room at that rate" as "we are full". No apology at all. A sharp reminder that we had just returned to rip off London after hotels on the continent which were the exact opposite.
And the rate I was expecting to pay did not include vat

The hotel room was lovely, the bath was small (ok if you’re not over 5 foot'ish ) but the comfortable bed and amenities are excellent. You can walk to Kensington gardens and Hyde Park within minutes passing the Albert Hall. Also ideal location if you like museums and galleries. If you want to eat inexpensively there is a quaint Italian/European restaurant just opposite Nando's on the high street, there breakfast cost is reasonable compared to the hotel. However we thoroughly enjoyed our weekend break at the hotel and will return, the staff have been very helpful and polite.
