Family room was decent size, 2 double beds and small bathroom. No faults with bedroom but breakfast room was very small. Quite often people were queuing up the stairs waiting on a table to become free.

Summary
The hotel was easy to find walking from Euston Station. The reception staff were friendly and helpful although one of the twin rooms I'd booked was unavailable, we were provided with 2 single rooms. The breakfast was ok and we were very lucky to time our breakfast just before a queue formed for the dining room. There was a strong smell of cigarette smoke in the hallways but not in the rooms. A good budget b&b close to the tube and main stations, would stay again if planning a one night visit in this side of town.
Summary
Clean, friendly, pleasant location. Could do with more accessible power points in bedroom.
Summary
Situated in a beautiful crescent shaped three storey terraced building, overlooking a grassed park. Very grand. Staff very helpful and courteous. Rooms large, clean and spacious. Excellent value for London, only a few hundred yards from Euston.
Summary
Hotel, very nice, clean and staff very friendly. breakfast good and a fair selection. room had a wet room type shower which cause me problems, as i leave everything on the floor! very nice stay, squirrels in park opposite, tennis players aswell. will use place again. seem to have extra security of French police from St Pancrass on the premises also!
Summary
Very noicy at late night. There is no staff after 9 pm.Could not sleep the night as noicy bunch of people on this floor.
Summary
When I first arrived at the menton hotel I was fairly impressed with the exterior, it was clean and tidy aswell as the bedroom. Unfortunatly the same cannot be said for the breakfast room, when I go for my breakfast I like to eat in a tidy and clean atmosphere. I did not get that in this room, the wallpaper looked horiffic as well as the seats, some of the chairs where ripped and did not match on some of the tables.
Summary
Room was small and clean and warm
Breakfast was basic but fine with good service
For the price, this was a superb hotel, exactly what we needed for a base to explore London.
Bloomsbury is a new area to me, and what a great place to be. It's lively without being noisy, with a lot of really interesting shops and cafes etc (the cake shop round the corner particularly excellent).
Sadly we had to leave early due to family crisis at home, but we will be back again ASAP.
Excellent hotel and facilitie, had a very warm welcome and room was great. Breakfast was excellent, we will definately stay here again in the future.
Summary
Good hotel very close to the town centre and the tube station. Some problems with Wi-Fi to be improved. Delicious full English breakfast!
Summary
We wanted somewhere convenient for Euston station and the west end - this area is ideal. Considering the proximity to the Euston Road, Cartwright Crescent is remarkably quiet.
The staff were very efficient and quickly provided towel and hairdrier when asked.
The room was basic but very clean and of a reasonable size. I think it classifed as a family room - although we had booked a double. The larger of the two beds was not a proper sized double bed, fortunately we like being close.
The breakfast was good and plentiful.
Overall - clean, efficient, no frills, good value.
We did not have a problem but others did, it does not accommodate all the guests.
Summary
The hotel was very pleasant, comfortable and clean. It is a 5 minute walk from Russell Square tube station. There is a nice local pub around the corner for a cheeky beer. We shared the attic room for 4 adults. As expected this was a little compact but perfectly adequate and made our stay a bargain for central London. Breakfast was included and was nicely cooked and served very efficiently. Would certainly consider staying here again if visiting central London.
Summary
Absolutely great value for money. Very friendly staff, good size room, great ensuite and all very clean.
Summary
Very nice little hotel for the money - which was very cheap for this part of London. Nice small room, decent breakfast, nice staff. Will stay again.
Summary
Room is down in the basement and is a bit grim - there's no need to turn the light on as the yellow spotlights from outside the hotel illuminate the room well enough.
Dodgy plumbing - there's a knack to flushing the toilet and having a hot shower that took me a few attempts to master and the hotel staff were no that helpful in sorting these problems.
But if you want somewhere cheap, clean and centrally based to crash after a late night out there's no point paying for an expensive hotel.
The Mentone is a decent, inexpensive, well-located hotel. I was given a basement room which was spacious, but a bit noisy. The building is old and the floorboards are creaky, so if the people in the room above choose to pace the floor in the early hours of the morning, it's a problem. The desk closes at midnight and generally the hotel settles down after that, but there was a lot of coming and going between 11 and 12, so its not the place for light sleepers.
Summary
My partner and I were so amazed at how clean our room was. Lovely size bedroom. Bathroom clean and fresh. Only downfall was that it was a little cold. However our stay was enjoyable and we will definitely come back again. Good price too.
Summary
The hotel was a little hard to find but was in a very quiet square so was a good choice for a London stay. The bed was especially comfortable and I got a very good night's sleep. A friend had stayed there and raved about the breakfast but my experience was not entirely positive. I asked for Earl Grey tea which is pretty bog standard these days and was told they only had "tea". I then asked for brown toast and was told they only had white bread. How hard can it be to buy a brown loaf and a box of E G teabags? The gentleman at the next time was also a little irritated by the inflexibility of the approach to food. I would stay there again but will look for other options when booking. If they had got the customer service at breakfast right I would not have felt the need to look elsewhere.
Summary
Literally a 5 min walk from euston station. In a nice crescent. Room was not big but clean and tidy. Breakfast was bacon, egg and sausage, with croissants, cereals, yoghurts and fruit. Windows need replacing as they let in noise from local youths gathered near tennis courts. Limited tv channels due to poor antenna connection. All in all paid £300 for two night stay. Staff are very friendly. Hotel must have just had a refurb as paint smell still slightly evident. Used hotel as a base. Would not be more than that. No entertainment or games room. Bottom line would we stay again? Yes we would, although I think better hotels could offer better rooms for the same price.
Summary
All good! Good frindly staff . Immaculate room.
Summary
I do not honestly think that I have ever seen such small and compact accommodation.!
But, it served its purpose I suppose, although I would have appreciated a Little bit more floor space as it felt a slightly claustrophobic. It was clean though.
The breakfast was lovely and service was very good; although the staff did appear somewhat rushed and under pressure at breakfast.
Meow!!
First time staying in london, but found it was a good location for train and tube.Breakfast was good , but felt rushed.Windows could do with replacing to be doubleglazed.Would recommend.
Summary
Lucky perhaps to have a quiet room. Only fault seemed to be an effective shower which was quickly solved by a member of staff who, unlike us, turned the handle the correct way. All forms of toilet facilities faultless. Efficient service at breakfast meant that we quickly got exactly what we ordered and it was then quickly cleared away to make rom for others. We just wanted a simple b&b and that it is what we got. . Naturally would prefer it to cost less.
Summary
A basic good value hotel, room was clean, a good nights sleep and the breakfast is great and fresh. The staff are great and helpful too
Summary
This hotel is perfect for those looking for value, location, cleanliness and security. The price is exactly right especially if you take into account wifi included and breakfast with cooked option as well as cold. You couldn't have a better location - two tube lines in 5 minutes walk, to mailine rail stations, dozens of bus routes including tourist ones. Location is in one of the university areas so has a safe feel to it, lots of shops and restaurants of all types and price nearby. There is a social housing block behind the hotel but it really is no big deal.
Summary
The hotel reception and welcome was minimal to say the least and my room was up on the 4th floor. No lift and narrow staircases made it difficult to lug case ( even tho small o/night case) up and down.
My room was actually a dble and 2 singles and even though a bit tight was fine for me .The bathroom and bedroom were very clean , newly re-furbished and had tea/cofee making facilities, TV and free internet. The best thing about this hotel is the location - very good for Euston/Kings X and there are loads of good cafes / restaurants nearby. I din't have breakfast ( which was included) as it was in the depths of the basement and I there were much nicer places nearby. It was good value for money and is in a nice Georgian terrace with loads of other similar hotels.
The Mentone is situated very close to St Pancras & Kings Cross railway stations and within walking distance of the British Museum & Library. A small hotel nestled in a parade of similar hotels, it is perfect venue from which to explore London. Reception staff were most helpful, rooms clean and nicely updated and breakfast was perfectly adequate. I'd certainly recommend this as a good budget hotel.
Summary
Very helpful and friendly staff. Excellent breakfast. Room a bit pokey with no view but overall good value for money in London.
Summary
A peaceful night's sleep, an excellent breakfast, and a great location - tube 10mins, and from there - the world :-)
Summary
We stayed for one night booked via Late rooms and were given a twin on the top floor (No Lift). Room very clean and lovely shower room. towels and bedding fresh and new looking. Sadly no air conditioning and no fan in room. Extremely hot evening in London so had windows open until the neighbour from hell, living in a house behind the hotel started his party, with loud rap music and even louder guests. Noise was dreadful so shut window which made only small difference and then too hot in room for comfort. 'Party' continued till 5am dispite calls out of the window to the man from other irate hotel guests begging for peace.
Didn't make it down for breakfast as we were too tired to get out of bed. Had to vacate room by 11 so all in all the worst night sleep of my life. I mentioned our situation to the receptionist who was pleasent but no refund offered. Will not be staying anywhere near Cartwright Gardens, Bloomsbury ever again and certainly begrudge paying £99 for a sleepless night.
I needed a room at very short notice and Mentone had one room left. Turns out it was the smallest room in the hotel, but it still had everything I needed, even if it was a bit cramped. I got in late (1215am) but despite the website saying that check-in has to be by 2330, this wasn't a problem at all and the guy on reception couldn't have been more helpful. I'd definitely stay again.

I stayed for 2 nights with my son to show him the London sights. The hotel is on a quiet road, close to Euston and Russell Square and just a short walk from the main bus routes. The decor is fresh, the room we had was roomy and more than adequate for our needs. The breakfast is great with a small selection of Continental style things and freshly cooked English, the fried egg was non greasy and bacon good quality, express service for a pot of tea and warm toast. Really pleased to find this hotel offers good value, great location and quiet - will stay again.

Excellent value for money, very good location. Rooms are basic but very clean and quiet.

I must say that this hotel is an absolutely amazing find. The prices are amazingly low for a central London hotel and it is situated quite nicely between two Underground stops (Kings Cross and Russell Square). Plus the neighbourhood is quaint and feels quite cozy. There are a lot of shops and restaurants nearby which offer a variety of places to eat and drink. Plus there is a small shopping area near to the Russell Square tube stop which makes this location great. As for attractions nearby, the British Museum is just a 5-10 minute walk from the hotel and is a must see.
As for the hotel itself, the rooms are larger than most hotels of this size with a very good layout and all are en suite. The hotel has updated a number of their rooms to give it a more modern feel, and I was told this by the very helpful staff that worhttp://www.laterooms.com/en/p1301/pv080599a/HotelFeedback/Add/13848967/449ADC45-ABBE-4ABD-878A-2B293B858733.aspxk there. I happened to be in one of the newer rooms and it was decorated very simply but tasteful. The room had a TV with cable and there is free wi-fi in the room as well. The bathrooms are a bit small, but you can't really complain as the hotel is a series of converted row homes along a crescent. The breakfast was excellent and tasty and I loved the fresh fruit salad. I would definitely stay again
Great location, room was fine. Too bad about the extremely loud argument nearby.
