Very friendly and helpful staff. Great breakfast. Good location. Only issue was tiny tiny room which could anyway have done with some TLC.

Summary
1. Little or no intructions for stay.
2. No tea or coffee facilities in rooms had to ask for there was drinks machine (pay for)
3. shower door would not shut and window handels did not work and bulb light fitting missing.
4. Breakfast was mean and the full english breafast did not have mushrooms or tomatoes and orange juice was sevred in tiny sherry glasses.
5. the room was crampt and noisey from the water pipes upstairs.
6. no glazing meant non of us got any sleep as street noise was very bad.
Not a good experience and one I would not repeat?
For £125 we expected better than a cramped dungeon room (had to move a chair to open the door),with no extras. At breakfast we had to sit at a cramped table just in case a group of 4 turned up for the bigger tables. Breakfast was minimal, and stopped serving at 9am sharp. Not a comfortable, relaxing stay.
Summary
Tiny cramped rooms, luke warm food, a £10 charge for internet, and a surcharge for using a credit card.
The bed was old and worn, and tilted so I constantly felt I was on the edge of falling out. I tripped over my (very small) suitcase going in and out of the room because it was so tight, and when I sat at the desk to do some work on the laptop, the chair was actually too low for desk.
And when you sit on the toilet, you are hard pressed against the radiator, so when it's on, you are at risk of being burned.
Breakfast was disgusting. Served from 07:30 to 10am, I went down at 08:30, and got a rasher of bacon, a dried up fried egg, and about 20 beans with a slice of toast. It had all obviously been kept warm from half 7.
Steer clear. There are far nicer places in the area to stay, and for the same price. And those places will cook your food to order.
This hotel was not worth £125 a night. My room had a broken extractor fan in the bathroom that was so noisy it would have disturbed other guests. I therefore had to use the bathroon without
the lights on. A window pane was broken in the bedroom and the paint chipped and peeling.
The breakfast room was so small and crowded that I couldn`t stand the thought of sitting in it and left without breakfast.
Even though they were not being excessively noisy, I was constantly disturbed by the guests in the room above me. In other words sound insulation is non existant.
This hotel is very bad value for money and typical of too many small hotels in Central London which fail to deliver on the promises of their advertising. It is tired and shabby.
We had to book a 4th night on our recent stay and wanted something close to other hotel which was a very superior place. Our room was small. We could not get around the room, not even enough room to sit and talk without being on the bed which was hard as a board. The breakfast was included but nothing elaborate The bacon tasted like it was leftover from the day before. No tub just a really small shower. Soap and shampoo was in automatic dispensers that were empty so we had to use our own anyway. The clerks were helpful and friendly but we were sad that we could not stay at the othe hotel which was much more superieor.
Summary
Hotel seemed quite cramped, when going to room thought it was on same level, turned the corner and nearly fell down the steep stairs.Triple room was a double room with an extra bed squeezed in.Beds were extremely hard, extremely uncomfortable, not much sleep that night!! Bathroom was sparkling clean!! Beakfast room very cramped, food okay just not enough of it!!Staff polite and very helpful
Summary
The room was very basic and needs updating. The staff were very friendly and helpful. On arrival the outside of the hotel looks promising, however, the room itself was not vey inviting. Breakfast was served in a cramped dining room and although the food was okay there was no real choice and portions are very small. Overall I feel that the hotel has cut too many corners to keep the prices down. The hotel is well located for travel around London and a short walk to Westminster.
Summary
Shower was stuck on about 50c. Anyone stepping into it would've been scalded! I couldn't therefore take a shower after spending a sweltering afternoon at Wimbledon.
Breakfast was dried up bacon resembling a bit of shoe leather, cold tinned tomato, a shriveled up sausage and cold fried egg not forgetting the dessicated piece of white sliced!
Staff were welcoming, but all in all extremely overpriced.
I wouldn't stay again and wouldn't recommend Melita House to anyone else
Stayed in room 26, in the basement. Intended as a family room, ie: 3 beds, it was all they had left.
needs refurbishment, a new suite of bathroom furniture, a shower curtain! and resolution of the damp smell etc.
A lovely and central area, but be careful where you book!
It is a very bad / miserable hotel.
the diningroom is to small
no aircontion and ventilation
Good location and value for money. I had no complaints regarding the room, the room was what I expected before I booked.
Summary
I had to book a four bed room for myself due to the lack of the smaller rooms in Victoria.
From my perspective, the room was functional if a bit cramped with having a double and two single beds in it but I guess it would be good for a family - but there is no division between any of the beds - or a group of friends who didn't mind being in close proximity!
No bath, just a shower in the small en suite bathroom - could be difficult if there were four people in the room - but clean and functional. The room was at the top of the house and the stairs could be a struggle if you have a significant amount of luggage - although you wouldn't have much space to put it anyway. The ceiling was low in places as the room was clearly in the roof space but it was quiet and pleasant.
Right on the bus line to Westminster, so turned out to be very convenient for my early morning start. Nearest tube is Pimlico! Staff very friendly but also efficient at check in and check out. Pleasant breakfast room with alternatives offered and friendly waiting staff. Room was in the basement but a pleasant outlook as some considerable effort had gone into brightening up the little courtyard area outside. I booked very last minute and everywhere was really expensive or full, so value for money may be better for bookings made in less of a rush!
Summary
Great location, lovely area, easily accessable. Hotel staff were lovely, the area was quiet and wihin walking distance of a lot of places. Very safe area
Summary
I often come to London on business for a night or 2 and the Melita is good, clean, well managed and value for money, given it's location near Westminster and Victoria. It is perfect for people looking to spend a day or 2 sightseeing in the City as your not far from Victoria Train/Tube and theres plenty of cafes and restaurants within a short distance of it's location.
Summary
Simple, clean accommodation. My single room was small, but not cramped, although someone with less experience in London hotels may disagree. I missed tea making facilities and choice at breakfast was limited. In a quiet street, but close to the hustle and bustle of Victoria. Good value for the price.
Summary
I stayed for 4 nights. The room was compact but clean and comfortable. I knew tea and coffee making facilities would not be available in the room but didn't realise how inconvenient this would actually be in practice. So please Melita put these facilities in the room. The best bit was the en suite shower - which was excellent and very powerful. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I only had breakfast once and it was OK but nothing to get excited about. Overall the hotel is clean, comfortable but in my view over priced. So I wouldn't recommend it not because of the standard but because of the price.
The rooms are very small but clean, and has adequate facilities for the price. The best thing in this hotel is the people who work here. Very warm and helpful, I recommend the stay for budget travelers.
Summary
Tiny room below stairs with no amendities - not kettle, iron, desk. One tiny towel - so choice between a shower or wash hair? No toiletries, tiny bed tight against window. Breakfast - only cheap orange juice, no brown toast, no decaff coffee; cornflaskes an extran £1.50 per portion. Really poor value and very off hand staff serving breakfast. When I aksed for brown toast the reply was "no - we don't do brown bread".
Need I say more - never again!
Pleasant staff but do not book room 23. Basement level below entrance corridor and dinning room , dreadful noise of chairs moving and guests coming and going with their luggage. Bathroom clean but bedroom wall paper damaged and missing in parts. Over priced room.
Summary
Positive points: clean quiet room and good central location. Staff were also generally friendly.
Negative points: no aircon (very hot in summer), small room, springy bed, small TV, small toilet, no outdoor space and poor breakfast (scrambled eggs were overcooked and under seasoned so I did not eat them). I also asked to have another room due to the heat but was told I could not as I had 'already used the room' (even though I had only left my bags in there for a couple of hours).
Overall: If you're planning to just find a place to crash in a central location and you like it warm, then go for it. Otherwise, for £120, I'd consider other options.
I was horrified to find the shower had old mould and limescale where it would be easy enough to clean. I have taken photos and will complain direct to the hotel in the hope I will at least have some refund. Becuse my arrival was mid evening I had no opportunity to change hotels which I would have done on another occassion. The receptionists were polite and greeted me well but I would never consider a second visit. Poor fascilities.
Summary
The receptionist was friendly but asked me to pay for our stay up front which I refused to do. The room was the smallest single I have ever stayed in but was clean with most facilities expected. I would have like coffee making facilities rather than the disgusting stuff out of the vending machine downstairs. The fan in the room was essential with temperatures hitting 30 degrees but it was very stuffy at night. I thought £1 for a bottle of water from reception was reasonable but a glass in my room would have been useful as tap water would have done.
Breakfast was actually very good with friendly service although the breakfast area was very cramped.
It was ok for a one night business stay but I wouldn't take my family there.
