Great quality hotel, just 2 stops by tube from St Pancras, 2 mins walk from Regent's Park. Portland Place tube station 2 mins on foot away, Regents Park tube station 4 mins on foot away. Piccadilly Circus 2 stops away on tube, Regents Oark 2 mins walk around the corner. Loved the hotel and will return.

We booked what seemed to be a reasonably-priced room, but on arrival at the hotel were immediately pressured to 'upgrade' (for a fee, of course) which we declined - an experience I could have done without. The room turned out to be very cramped, and on reflection I can see why people would wish to upgrade. Once in the room, we decided to listen to music on the TV only to find out that we would have to pay for the privilege. After much fiddling about with cables we managed to get the in-room internet connection to work, but were again disappointed - Internet use is available only at a steep cost (surprise!) Overall, the stay left a sour taste - I do not like Melia's policy of offering apparently competitive prices but then trying to make more money out of the customer by up-selling in various ways. It is reminiscent of Ryanair charging passengers to check in! It's a nice enough hotel, but other chains manage to provide decent-sized rooms and do not charge for basic services such as music and internet - why do Melia?

We enjoyed our stay, albeit after a very protracted and confused saga at check-in. After queueing, it then took our receptionist about fifteen minutes to clarify the details of our reservation, and finally having been issued with our key cards and going up to our room, we discovered it was already occupied -- by a very disgruntled guest who we'd woken up! Returning to reception we were given a profound apology and free drinks at the bar. That initial hassle aside our stay was pleasant, and we'd probably use the Melia White House again. But, the reception desk staff really need to improve efficiency.

This place isn't cheap, but it is a very nice hotel in a great location, right next to Regents Park, and Soho is just a walk down Tottenham Court Road. My room was smallish but adequate and very well appointed, as was the whole hotel. I especially liked the lounge bar. The only problem I had was that they offered me express check-out and promised to email my bill, but then they never did. I didn't eat there. I had breakfast at a pavement cafe on Marylebone High St, which was great.

Excellent hotel - much better than we initially expected. When we booked it seemed too expensive to buy their breakfast. But when we arrived it was possible to get a free discount-card (MES), which made it possible for two people to eat for the price of one (if staying in the same room). Then it was reasonable price for a large breakfast-buffet. Just one additional comment: the beds are short - only about 1.9 m. - which for a tall persons is a bit annoying.

Recently spent one night at this hotel on a short break in London. We upgraded to a superior room which gave us access to The Level where we could take complimentary drinks in the evening along with light snacks, this was money well spent and a good place to relax at the end of the day. Breakfast was nicely displayed and appealing but unfortunately it was lukewarm food on a cold plate - not a good combination.

We stayed in the White house for a weekend break in London. The hotel is situated in an Ideal location to sample all that London has to offer. With two tube stations nearby all of London is in easy reach. With regents park next door its lovely for an early morning stroll! The Hotel is very "jazzy" and welcoming!!! The staff were very friendly and always available to help. The room was not huge, the decoration might not be to everyone's taste but was very clean and tidy. The bed was comfy and the room facilities were good too.

Room was to a very good standard. However, it was very 'business'. The decor was a little over the top - they could moderate the art a bit, and better lighting (especially in the bathroom, where it was *very* dark) would help. I booked this as a 'secret room' and as such got a discount. But I was still surprised that they wanted to charge me £25 for early check in (arriving at 1pm), and when I enquired about a left luggage was told that it was 'not part of the package'. I find these services to be standard these days. Embarrassingly at check in they were very explicit about the cost of the room, which I hadn't intended to tell my partner. Further, I was offered an upgrade, as if I had not paid enough already. They could be more sensitive when checking in couples on a romantic weekend! We were upgraded to an executive room all the same, since they had run out of normal rooms.Excellent location though - a stones throw from the tube, and very posh. There's a surprisingly good Pizza Express nearby, and a nice cafe, which is useful since the hotel restaurant is very expensive. £21 for breakfast per person?! £42 a day for breakfast would have been 25% of the cost of the room!Whilst we had a great time, and the hotel was very nice, it is undoubtably set up as a business resort, and not geared up to the tourists who it seems to be trying to attract with the secret rooms deal.

Check in time was 3 oclock, the same time that our musical started, however with one email they had moved our check in forward to half one and bumped us up a room as soon as I told them it was a special occassion. On arrival we were greated out of our taxi by a very friendly concierge.the reception staff were very professional and welcoming. the room was amazing, superbly decorated and very spacius as far as hotel rooms go, the bathroom was flawless and beautiful.when we got back from the show we also had a complimentary bottle of champagne chilling in a bucket of ice waiting for us when we got back due to the fact it was a special occasion. At check out the staff were very friendly and made sure they asked if we had any problems at any point.I genuinly would give this 11 out of ten if possible, faultless and they went above and beyond the call of duty. Would recomend to anyone.

I was quite suprised by the standard of this hotel. I don’t know its rating but it certainly felt 5 star both by its appearance and the quality of the staff. This is a Spanish hotel group and they have transposed a Spanish hotel, complete with Spanish but good English speaking staff. The general decor and standard of rooms is excellent and the upgrade to Level status at £30 per head was good value allowing you to eat and drink all day long if you wished and giving a higher standard of room. Well worth a visit.l

I got a room in this hotel for £76 a night but even at double that it about offers value for money. Absolutely fabulous hotel in all ways. 100m from Great Portland Street tube - parking virtually non-existant which is fair enough for the area. Plush reception & decor throughout (Spanish owned group with heavy Spanish influences and clientele), enormous bed in a more than spacious room. Clean and modern; reception and general service excellent. If breakfast is not included it will set you back over £20 per person - you can sign up to the hotel group loyalty card (free) whice entitles you to a BOGOF deal plus other discounts. Would definitely stay here again. No Sky channels though except Sky One...

Having stayed there several times before we felt that the offer of stay 2 nights pay for 1 was good value. However we were disappointed on many levels. When we arrived we were persuaded to upgrade to a deluxe room and the use of the "executive" level lounge. This cost £90. The room was no different to ones we had had before, the bathroom was exceptionally small ( a large person would never have fitted in the bath) and room service was terrible. We had to make 4 phone calls before we had the items which should have been replaced when the room was serviced. The "Level" where we could take breakfast and drinks and tapas early evening was well below standard. The selection at breakfast was poor, the food cold and dried up. The "tapas" was not Spanish tapas as we were led to believe, unless you could call cold greasy hash browns Spanish tapas. All in all very disappointing and not worth the extra £90 we paid.

I visited the bar on a number of occasions and the service was very poor. Even though the bar supervisor/manager seemed to be on duty, staff were more interested in chatting with each other than serving customers. The bar also closed at 1am on a Saturday night, and despite being a resident, when I phoned for a drink I was informed, there was no room service at that hour. However, front of house staff, were very helpful and accommodating.

My friend was treated rudely at recpetion as she couldn't check in at their desired time (we were off to a wedding and reception so would be back very late) I think there was a language barrier but surely it cannot be that unusual to offer to store her bags and reassure her that the room would be kept as she was physically there even though she couldn't get into the room at that point (due to cleaning). NOT impressed with that kind of customer treatment from a 4 star hotel.

Not too far from Euston and Kings Cross stations. Easy stroll to Oxford Street, Soho, Leicester Square central london. Easy access to M1 M25 also. I had stayed at this hotel about 30 yrs ago on business. The standards are as high now as then, though under different owners (Spanish). Reception on arrival was excellent and smooth with allocation of room fast and pleasant. The room was on the end of a corridor and perfectly adequate for space for a short visit. Well equipped en suite bathroom, but poorly fitting windows leaving it cold. Noise also came from that area as a result, but closing the door, esp. at night was a definite requirement. The hotel is directly opposite Gt Portland St tube so handy for conn'ns to central London. It’s about 5 mins in a cab from Euston or 15 mins walk along the Euston rd. Local pub behind the tube to the right, excellent for food and convivial staff. Quirky friendly club in the basement for a late night 2.oo am . Overall would stay again, but not cheap (£120pn double, exc bfast (£21)) the Turkish restaurant, again behind the tube does a perfectly acceptable freshly cooked bfast at £5.
