Clean, friendly and attentive staff, central but quiet.
A lovely little hotel.
Nice hotel, good location and ideal for a city break.
Summary
Hotel is very conveniently located in terms of travel links. Room was clean and compact. Would benefit from having double glazing fitted. I was concerned at the lack of 'direction' in case of fire/emergency - no clear instruction as to how to evacuate safely in such an event. Considering location represents reasonable value for money. Staff very friendly and helpful.
Summary
Good all round accommadation
Summary
A budget hotel and near Pimlico tube were the good points. I was on the top floor with no lift, room was tiny and breakfast was poor though.
Summary
A small very friendly, exceptionally clean hotel. Great location where it\'s walkable to central shopping areas but Tube only 2 mins away. Good value. Rooms on the small size but quite acceptable.
Summary
Room was clean and quiet. For a London business trip it was better than expected. Staff were friendly and helpful. Continental breakfast was adequate

Summary
Lovely clean hotel. Staff very helpful. Very good position for Victoria and buses into Leicester Square etc.
Summary
The hotel was clean and the staff friendly and helpful with local knowledge for restaurants etc. We had a double ensuite room and the bathroom was very modern and clean. There were only 2 negatives - the first that there was no power socket near the kettle and tea making facilities, we had to move the kettle and plug it in next to the bed. The other was the noise of the traffic - no double glazing! but saying that, the balcony was an added bonus. Would definately stay there again.
Summary
Lovely friendly and clean. Very well placed for sightseeing and Victoria theatres. Rooms are not large but adequate for an overnight stay. We booked for 4 people knowing there was 2 separate rooms but didn't realise there wasn't a door between or that the bathroom was off one of the rooms. This was not a problem for us though.
Summary
This was a very friendly, clean and comfortable hotel the only down side was the fact we were on the top floor and there is a lot of stairs but it is well placed to act as a base for sight seeing being just 10min walk from Victoria Station, we would certainly use this hotel again.
Summary
Convenient for the venues we were visiting
Summary
A short walk from Victoria coach station I had chosen this hotel because it had good reviews and we weren't disappointed. Customer service was excellent and the hotel was clean and bright. Our room wasn't huge, but it was very clean and well maintained with a pleasant view from the rear with glimpses of the Houses of Parliament and the London Eye. Pleasant reception area and spotless bathroom. My husband had the breakfast which was contenental and adequate. The only downsides (and they are only small ones) were that there are a lot of stairs and I thought they should have provided us with more than one pillow each, although I am sure if we had asked they would have done so as they were so polite and helpful. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to others. Plenty of restaurants nearby also. A word of warning, make sure you hail a taxi from outside, not ask at reception as we were charged £16 by the one which the hotel had booked for us and only £6 by the one we had hailed ourselves for the return jouney!
Summary
The Meclbourne House Hotel is a nice little hotel on the reasonably quiet Belgrave Road in Pimlico. While the accomodation is fairly basic, the en suite room I had was extremely clean and a good standard with the ensuite being what seemed brand new and pretty good! The hotel provides free Wi-Fi, although the signal was a little weak when stopping near the top floor. Great for working if you need it though! The walls are quite thin and the floor boards creek, but I did not find this to be a problem. The breakfast was pretty basic, with a choice of cereal, croissants and hams, but served the purpose if you aren't fussy. For transport its right near the tube and there are plenty of buses, so ideal from that perspective. Staff were extremely polite and always willing to help. Definitely somewhere to use as a base, and is perfect for this. Would definitely recommend.
Summary
The Melbourne House Hotel is extremely clean. Rooms are cleaned daily to a high standard. Breakfast was seriously disappointing. Sainsburys Value Cornflakes or choice of Sainsburys value Muesli, Croissants, toast, Value yoghurt and selection of Value meat slices. (That's it) No full English. The room was small and basic but sufficient for a two night stay. I would stay there again simply for the convenience of the location and high standard of cleanliness. I would recommend to a friend, but would ensure they didn't have great expectations of the food.
Summary
The room was very small as other reviewers have noted - a double room which left little space apart from the bed. But that is what I imagine the choice is in central London - a balance of price, size and location, and this was good on location and price. Top floor room was quiet but a long climb. The bed was very comfortable and there was a newly refurbished shower room with what felt like a larger than average and very nice power shower. The staff were all friendly, the dining room was simple and I had a good continental breakfast.
So a small room but for that price and central location it was fine for me alone. If I wanted to spend much time in the room, do any work there or was with someone else, it might have been more difficult.
Whilst the hotel was clean and the staff were polite that was the only nice thing i can say, i arrived and the double room i had booked was actually a twin, they could not swap it as they were full, i booked this hotel as i needed wireless internet access i was put on the third floor and there wa no lift where the wireless did not get a signal, the stairs were quite a treck i am a fit 33 year old and i was heavy breathing after the climb. The person above me on the 4th floor got up at 6am which meant he woke me as the walls and floor were paper thin, as soon as he used the toilet and the fan came on it was like someone vacuming. you could heaqr people on the phone in the other rooms or jsut talking, i wore earplugs the second night and still could hear things. all in all not very good.
Summary
This is an excellent well run small hotel which we have used on a previous occasion. The room was small, but no smaller than many in Victoria. It was simply furnished, clean and tidy with a flat screen digital TV and built-in hair dryer near a dressing table mirror. The well-presented bathroom had an oversized shower tray. Plenty of hot water. The central heating worked. The bed was comfortable. Breakfast (included in the price) was taken in the basement breakfast room. A continental breakfast buffet offered a reasonable choice including toast and marmalade. The hotel does not have a lift. We climbed a couple of flights of stairs to our room. No problem for us, but worth noting. The only improvement I can suggest is the installation of a full length mirror. The bedroom had two mirrors but not full length. If you want to stay two or more nights in London then the Melbourne House offers value for money. And it is well placed for the sights of London on the No 24 bus route, which runs 24 hours. You'll need to book early to be sure of securing a room!
Summary
Clean, smells of car air freshener, depressing
Summary
Well appointed for access to attractions in London and good instructions off web site. appeared to have been recently refurbished so was of a fair standard and everywhere was clean and tidy.
Bed comfortable and plenty of hot water. Lots of stairs to the 4th floor, no lift, and water system very noisy late at night and early morning from water tank in loft?
No English breakfast basic continental although plenty to eat. Bit restricted on times with breakfast finishing at 8.45 even at weekend. Staff pleasant enough but did feel it not very good value for money. But then that's London I suppose
Booked last minute and with few other choices available. £110 for a night so not cheap. Spotlessly clean, newly fitted bathroom but basic accommodation. 3rd floor room with no lift was fine for me but be warned if you're not so fit. Breakfast included but basic - (cereal in boxes!) Fine if you need a place to crash near Victoria but definitely not the place for a romantic getaway!
