Summary
My husband and I stayed for a weekend.
Pros:
The location is great, just a couple of minutes walk from the tube (Borough), and seconds from a Tesco Express and a decent variety of takeaways and restaurants.
10 minutes walking distance from the London Bridge train station
The place was spotless, really well cleaned and itt felt secure.
Cons:
It's bang in the center of London, and the traffic noise was loud enough to hear clearly at night, even on the 5th floor, bring earplugs (not provided).
The kitchen was a bit stingily equipped: only two of everything (wine glasses, plates, mugs, etc).
A bit small for an apartment, but space is at a premium in the area anyway.
Minor issue: the mixer tap in the bathroom sink was awful at mixing. I think it needed fixing but we forgot to report it.
All in all good value for money, we would use it again.
Excellent location near London Bridge, good quality accommodation at reasonable rates
Summary
Well worth considering if staying in London
Summary
Really liked staying here. The apartment block is clean and minimalist as are the rooms. Plenty of room for 1-2 people. Kitchen, bathroom and bedroom all really clean and the sitting / dinning room has plently of room. Plently of local amenities within walking distance as is Borough Underground.
Would thoroughly recommend staying here.
Cost 15 pounds per day to park your car,and takes about an hour to find your room due to their being no signs in the car park and the fact that the car park is for four different apartment complexes. Be sure that you tell the taxi driver the marlin apartments in empire square. We had a forty pound taxi fare due their being four different marlin apartments.
Summary
Spacious, generally clean, well located and well appointed. Furnishings had seen a lot of use (stains on sofa etc) but not a major issue. Beds comfortable. Two downsides - my apartment was opposite a noisy pub on an otherwise quiet street and no aircon (for the late summer heatwave).
Check in staff provide an adequate, if basic service.
Certainly beats most similarly priced London hotel rooms for the price
Booked here by accident as all local hotels were fully booked. An amazing apartment, tastefully decorated with more facilities you could ever use. The reception were extremely helpful even before we arrived when I called to find out about parking. Cannot fault anything about these apartments and so easy and quick to walk more or less anywhere.
Summary
Apartment was great size, spotless and well equipped. Very near Borough station and easy to get to the City or West End. Only negative was that check-in was a bit slow and disorganised but the staff did keep apologising so this may have been a blip. Don't forget your photo ID as they do ask for this as part of check in.
Would definitely use again.
Great apt. in Central London. Really clean and comfortable apt. with everything you would need for a great weekend away. Would definately stay here again.
Summary
Short walk from London Bridge. Didn't expect £200 deposit. Check-in not too efficient. Pleased with the apartment and the complementary items. Tesco express downstairs. Overall good value and would stay here again.
Summary
Perfect location and great value for money. We stayed in a 1 bed apt and got a deal of £85 per night in August! Clean spacious apartment with all facilities you need for a long/short stay. Short walk to Borough or a little further to London B station, lots to do in immediate area, really enjoyed Borough market on the fri/sat! Would try to book there again wen returning to London if got a similar deal but my sister tried to book afew days after us to come along and it came up with a price of £170 a night????? Would def not pay that.....
Summary
Good position if you want walk, travel by tube (Borough on 5 minutes away) or bus to all the attractions in London. Just off the main areas and fairly quiet when I stayed on a weekend in late August 2011. I used their parking at a very good price. 2 Bed appartment with all the mod cons in the lounge/kitchen area. Windows in bedrooms not working properly either fully open or closed. No airconditioning and rather hot in the evenings when we got back.
Summary
A decent size apartment at a fair price. Clean and with all you need to just use as an overnight base or for a longer stay with all you need for that. Well equipped kitchen.
Summary
To get there by car was a nightmare....a lot of roads are closed due road works or one way direction...I've asked for an apartment as hight up as possible. I was given an apartment at level 1! The windows was the same level with the ground which mean I could't leave the windows open as not feeling safe. There was no air conditioning and therefore had quite a bad night as the bedroom was very hot.The carpet in the bed room had a lot of stains and looked filthy
Summary
Ridiculously overpriced. Very dated decor and cheap fixtures and fittings. Not at all acceptable, even in London for close to £200 per night.
Summary
Really pleased with apartment, good car parking which was safe. Very clean room. We would plan further ahead next time we visit as the price was expensive for just one night. Service was great.
Summary
A surprise trip to the paladium for my wife was made even better by staying at the apartment. Spotless rooms, fully equiped kitchen, wicked. Why not stock the fridge frezzer with food and beer and save yourself a fortune. Do your sightseeing and then back to the apartment for food and drink. Happy days. Then relax and watch tv in your own lounge. We will be back for sure.
p.s Parking only £16 on site.
Very nice apartment. Kitchen, toilet and bedroom are great. Living space is nice but disappointed it is not a flat screen tv and only has channels one to five even though there is a sky box.
The two guys on reception were quite rude and unhelpful.
Dirty carpets
Rude unhelpful staff
This one bedroom flat was very good, clean and spacious.
It is quite central only a few minutes walk from Borough Market and no more than 10 minutes walk to the river.
Terrific accomodation and location, slightly spoilt by the regimental book in time - 1500 hrs not one minute earlier. No computer access from room had to sit on floor in corridoor.
Summary
Couldn't fault these apartments except the arrival time for checking being 3pm and the congregation of people waiting to check in, it should be from 2pm and this is the only thing that outs me off
And the light bedroom carpet was very marked and need cleaning or replacing
Everything else was great, high floor, great view, everything that was needed and a nice contemporary yet comfortable apartment, no problems except checkin
During my stay - there was a guy - seems every day to be first for him on this duty.
Please - kick him out! He doesn't know anything! 30 min. on check -in without any visible activity - it's toooo long!
Lovely quiet night, neutral colours, clean and relaxing. Will deffinately be staying again!
Summary
We usually stay at a hotel near Regents Park, but on this occasion we felt it was over-priced and settled for this apartment instead. We thought it was wonderful, the accommodation was spotless and very comfortable. Borough Market is just a 'stone throw' away and is a revelation if you like food. We bought everything we needed for a dinner there and then put it all in the fridge at the apartment before going out for the day. In the evening we cooked and ate in, rather than do dinner and a show as we've done in the past. Tesco was literally under the block to get those essetials on arrival like the milk and bread for breakfast. Unlike a holiday apartment there were no 'bits' left behind like salt, pepper, oil etc so you need to think about what you are going to cook as there is no store-cupboard as such.
Summary
Genuinely brilliant stay.. Room was immaculate, maid was lenient when we were late checking out and came back later.
Best place I've ever stayed in London, will deffo be going back!
Wasn't clear when I booked that check in wasn't until 3pm and consierge reluctant to store bags . Freeview box didn't work and no DVD (despite instructions for it). However, good value for money and convenient
Summary
Accommodation is excellent and position close to london city good, but concierge grumpy and not very helpful. Rooms leave a bit to be desired on cleanliness , but good value foe money at late rooms prices . Would have been annoyed if paid full price though
Summary
Great place, the reception is outsourced and don't seem to have a clue what is going on or how to solve any problems,.
The accommodation itself it great, clean, modern and spacious.
First class accommodation......good location............checkin could be improved
Summary
Overall a decent place to stay in a very central London location. Great size room / suite with full cooking / laundry facilities.
The late check-in time and early check-out time means you won't have a great deal of time to appreciate the place if you're staying just one night.
We arrived around 2pm on the way to a wedding, hoping we would be able to check in or at least leave our bags before we went off to the venue at 3pm. We were told this was not possible without paying an extra £20, which of course we had to do. There was a line of people after us in the reception office being told the same thing and handing over their cash. Made us feel like we had been scammed (regardless of whether we actually had been) . Not a good start really. Made the check in process quite stressful, both for us and for the several families behind us in the queue.
A decent and functional place if you don't mind a bit of faffing around when you arrive. 7 out of 10.
When you get a 1 bedroom flat in London Bridge on the Royal wedding day for only £100 you start to think this must be too good to be true. I was worried before arriving but this once in the flat, we realised all was going to be fine! It was clean comfortable and cosy. The only danger was that we would stay in rather than take in the sights!! Wish we had stayed for a couple more nights!!
Summary
Just a couple of niggles one of the two recptionists was not very helpful and a couple of things in the appartment didnt work main light in the bedroom and the extractor in the bathroom their was a switch for this we were told but could not locate it .
Only two ordinary tea bags left to use at least 6/8 shuold be left as if you are only in for a day you dont want to be going to and from reception all the time asking questains or getting spare tea bags ect.ect.also getting into the room before 3 pm would be better say around 1pm as if your up from the country early you dont want to carry your overnight bag around with you for half the day.
Great for City Breaks - or short working stints in the city.
Summary
Marlin Empire Square is ideally located only 5 minutes south of London Bridge and on the Northern Tube Line. The apartment had all the necessary facilites. A real home from home.
Summary
Great appartment with proper, separate lounge/ kitchen and a huge balcony with a view of the Gherkin. Spotlessly clean and well-appointed (dishwasher, washing machine, proper hob and microwave). A bit confusing at the start as you have to pull up at the front and get your room key and separate car parking key fob. Only then can you go round the back and park and then bring all your bags into the hotel. Also, it's not best placed for the city centre (bit of a faff on the underground unless you walk to Lambeth station), but we went to be near the National Theatre and the Tate and it is perfect for that area. Highly recommend this as a pied a terre for a London weekend and it is even viable for someone working a contract in London or as a stepping stone for a relocation. Will definitely stay there again. NB I have had to tick 5 for quality of food or the system won't let me submit this review - but the place is actually self-catering only and there is no bar or restaurant. It is basically a block of flats.
Summary
Great for business stay for over 2 days, great location, rooms good and kitchen very modern. Will use again.
Summary
I needed accomodation in London Bridge and all of the local hotels were full. I also needed parking for 2 days, and the Marlin Apartments were just the ticket. Great value for money and a real home from home.
Summary
Nice location-just 100m away from Borough Tube Station. Tesco in the Ground Floor. Rooms are excellent, clean and cosy. I found some of the light bulb didnt work though.
Down side: Reception is not that much helpful. Nobody receives phone. Using phone from the flat is not easy. In my flat I didnt find any washing up lequid and scour which might be very helpful to make your life a bit easier.
