Enjoyable Stay

Had a good stay in the appartment. Very easy to get into London central via the DLR. Room was very comfortable. Not very much cuttlery or plates/glasses etc. Made it difficult having to wash constantly. Still i would reconmend staying at Marlin appartments.

...even though they did debit the full amount of the cost of the room from my bank account without telling me !!! Apart from that, good room especially as we had the penthouse suite and had amazing views over both the city of London and Docklands. Great weekend...

Good and Bad

I had a very nice 1 bedroom apartment. I can't fault the apartment, but my problem was with the area itself. Commercial Road is full of grotty pubs, cheap shops, and grubby fast food take-aways. There is a nice-ish cafe on the corner that does a decent breakfast.
However, there is at least one bus (no.15) that will take you into nicer parts of london, like Tower Hill, or the Tower of London in just 12 minutes-and then on to (I think) Oxford Circus. This bus runs every 5-8 minutes. My apartment had a kitchen with cooking facilities, but there was nowhere in the area, that I could see, that sold fresh food, so it was a bit wasted. I'm glad I stayed here, as I got it at a reasonably cheap rate, and the apartment looked in good, new-like condition.

Marlin Apartments July 2011

We have stayed previously at the Marlin Apartments on Canary Wharf, so we sort of knew what to expect. The standard of accomodation was good, and anything that needed addressing (lack of hair dryer) was tackled speedily and cheerfully. My big problem was the lack of any sort of parking facility even close to these apartments. I have to walk a couple of miles back from parking on St Katherines Wharf, fortunately our stay ran over the weekend and it was possible to park in the street at the side of the building then.

Great apartment, very clean

I originally booked at this Limehouse location, but was moved out to the Canary Wharf complex due to flooding. I think I was probably upgraded on the size of apartment; it had everything I needed (apart from a hairdryer) and was spotlessly clean. Only issue is that the location was not suitable for a single woman to walk around in, at any time of the day, so you would need to make sure you bring your dinner/breakfast with you when you arrive. However, Limehouse may be better as it is more central.

Nice Appartment but a long way from central london not just in distance

The appartment was very comfortable, spacious and well equiped and the staff friendly and helpful.
I quite liked Limehouse once I'd got used to the idea that it was so different from Hampstead.
I found that a little daunting at first and I don't think I would have much liked to go out locally for something to eat or drink on my own.
I think I may well stay there again.
Having said that, I'm a single traveller so the price isn't really competetive for me.

Very Good value for money

A really good alternative to a hotel. My studio room was very well appointed and ideal for a business trip when you're not necessarily looking to eat out at night. 2 minutes from Limehouse station. A hefty £200 is pre-authorised on your credit card though and takes several days to clear!!

Marlin Apartments - City Docklands

We were attending Hyde Park Calling and looking for somewhere to stay that was central and within a resonable budget.
Due to this being Wimbledon week, hotels were either booked or extortionate. Good reviews on Trip Advisor led us to book the Marlin Apartments and we weren't disappointed.
Although it's a bit further out then we wanted and not in the prettiest of locations, it's a 2 minute walk to the DLR and 5-10 minutes into Central London or out to Greenwich.
The apartment was nicely furnished, spacious and well laid out. It was very clean and tidy and the staff were helpful and friendly. Check in and out was speedy.
The cafe on the corner does an amazing breakfast and Gordon Ramsay's The Narrow Pub is about a 10 minute walk away.
I would definately recommend a stay at Marlin Apartments - City Docklands, it's fantastic value for money and we will be using them again.

Nice Apartment

The apartment was very easy to access and is within a few minutes of DLR and local shops so although not a beautiful view still a good base for working in London or visiting the sites.
My room had a bed that folded down from the wall in the living area, so not as much space as I had previously experienced in Marlin Apartments but still fine for one person.
There was a small seperate kitchen which was well equiped.
Overall a decent aprtment in a convenient location.

While apartment is very well equipped, my room was overlooking a main street and fairly noisy. Also although the location is very close to Limehouse tube station, giving relatively easy access to the City the surrounding area is very residential with only a small tesco express within easy walking distance, and not much by way of take-aways/restaurants-not overly suitable for single travellers unless you're prepared to go to City or Docklands area and travel back later alone.

Good value, would stay again!

Really handy for City Airport. Arrived at noon and left luggage. Receptionist was very helpful and indicated that we would have a apartment within the courtyard. This suited us and was peaceful and serene. The chest of drawers front panel fell off when opened within the bedroom, this was reported and was not maintained as stated would happen the following day. However this did not impact our stay as there were ample storage facilities available. The kitchen area was well appointed and designed, all rooms were very spacious and comfortable. It would have been nice to have a TV located in the bedrooms but as we spent a lot of time outdoors enjoying the fabulous weather we didn't really miss this.

Good value apartment

A very clean, spacious apartment which was very good value for money. The area it is in is a bit rough around the edges to say the least, but if you want a reasonably cheap, hassle free weekend in London then I can recommend these apartments. There may be a bit of traffic noise but we didn;'t really notice it.

Excellent Value

We stayed here for two nights to relax and see friends in London. Although the appartments are not near the centre of London, the tube station is just 5 minutes walk away and the journey takes little over 30 minutes. We found the appartments very clean and private. Modern fittings, spacious, with a fully equiped kitchen and dishwasher. There is a table for two and the bed fits up into the wall to make a sofa. The lady at reception was very helpful, she knew the locality very well and advised me where to get various shopping from. I would recommend the appartments to anyone, especially if staying for more than one night.

O2 concert

Excellent accommodation, clean and good quality, staff very nice and helpful. We were down for a concert in o2 and were home in 15 minutes which was amazing considering the amont of people at the concert. It was easy to get in and out of the middle of London and is in Zone 2 so its very easy to go anywhere on a day ticket. Trains just 2 mins from apartments. Area isnt the best but never felt scared, people are people wherever you go. Plenty of choice for take away round about. Lovely indian nearby and an offlicence both very well priced and nice friendy owners. We had a ball and would definately return for an o2 event. Much prefered the area we stayed in to the Canary Warf area.

Excellent accommodation! We stayed in a studio flat which for two of us was really spacious especially in relation to standard hotel rooms. Well appointed large fridge/freezer, full size cooker & microwave, washing machine & ironing board. Bathroom was also a very generous size. For me the bed was too hard - but I'm known for being a bit princess & the pea like, partner found it fine!
The apartments are only two minutes walk max crime limehouse tube and it's really easy to get to the east/central London. Fantastic value.

Excellent Value and Quality apartment for a weekend stay in London

Customer service was excellent, friendly staff, the apartment was fantastic, clean, modern and located near a tube station in zone 2. We were even aloud to securely leave our luggage for the day after departure. My only fault would be a later check out time for Sunday departures and some prior notice about the refundable deposit requested at check in. Other than that an excellent choice if your wanting quality accomodation just outside the main hussle and bussle of London!!

Nice, modern, clean room...shame about the area

The apartments are really nice. The apartment we had seemed smaller than the pictures on the website but it was as modern and clean and so we liked it. Unfortunately the area is quite poor (i.e. run-down and uninviting) and although we felt safe enough (the apartments are secured and reception is manned 24 hours) we would have liked to enjoy local pubs etc, but there was nothing like that around. The concierges were nice, but their lack of knowledge of London was surprising! All-in-all we enjoyed our stay but wouldn't rush back, as for the money we paid (circa £70/night) we could have stayed in Canary Wharf, which is more up-market and only two more stops on the DLR (still within Zone 2).

Perfect for staying in when going to a gig at the Troxy

We went to London for a gig at the Troxy. Marlin Apartments was literally right across the road which was perfect. We got a bit off course on the way and ended up being rather late for the gig. The reception staff were lovely and got us checked in as fast as they could.
We even had a free upgrade to a 1 bedroom apartment even though we had just booked a studio. The apartment was fantastic and I only wish we could have stayed longer. I could have quite easily lived in it to be honest! It was spotlessly clean and had everything you may have needed. The only thing that was missing was a hairdryer. I had not taken my own because the laterooms site stated that there was a hairdryer in each room. I'm sure I could have borrowed one from reception but it was rather late when I washed my hair so I just didn't bother asking and went au naturel.
I would definitely recommend this place and if we ever go to another gig at the Troxy I wouldn't even think of staying anywhere else.
