I rang the hotel to check in early. They said I could, I got there at half 1. we couldnt get in! The systems were down. we didnt get in the room till half 4. when we were supposed to be able to check in at 3? Apart from that the apartment was excellent. Very clean and modern. This is the place to stay when you go to london.

I stayed here on business last September and that is the main reason I chose it for a weekend with the family. The apartments are clean, tidy and spacious with a fully equipped kitched (if you choose to cater for yourself) - with the obvious exception of a cork screw! The reception staff were very welcoming and helpful - efficient etc.Only thing that didn't work in the apartment was the extractor fan in the en-suite bathroom - which would have been helpful as the room misted up very quickly. Other thing about bathroom is that the mirror is a little too far to see properly (for shaving etc). The area is not particularly upmarket, but apartments are not too long a walk from Limehouse DLR station.Local takeaways not tried, but the local Indian restaurant (Raja Boy??) is very good.

I wanted somewhere to stay with my new wife (as opposed to the old one!) that could be a base for visitng relatives but also be a place some of them could come to. The apartment was brilliant for this. location is great (though parking during the week is pricey to say the least- free sat and sun). The kitchen / living room was well equipped and clean and the bedroom was fine as was bathroom. Nice mattress on the bed. the area is what you'd expect for that part of the east end and you probably wouldn't want a night out very locally- go to brick lane or spitalfileds for that but it's safe and not noisy (beyond the general London hubub). Light railway is just round the corner, buses are easy. the block is great- nice courtyard that is a bit of a haven (especially if you're a smoker) as no-one seemed to use it except us. The frontage is great for the history too if you like that sort of thing. the best thing about it was Kat (I think that's her name). From the moment we arrived she was helpful, friendly and made time to chat and help even when she was busy with her work- she's a great asset. We have stayed at another Marlin location before and the concierge there was a little curt (as they seem to be in most places these days) so this was refreshing and added to the general comfort and ambiance. Thank you especially to her.

The cleanliness and facilities of these apartments was really good. The receptionists that were on duty the days we were there 30th 31st March and 1st April were all extremely pleasant, helpful and made the stay very enjoyable. Not only were they pleasant they were all very friendly and made us feel very welcome indeed.

My original booking in CW was changed to London Bridge which given my work schedule and demands was very inconvenient. I had chosen Canary Wharf because it was right beside my office and in the end I had to travel to London Bridge late at night etc etc. Other than that the appartment I was given was lovely.

I am looking at the current prices and it looks as though they have been hiked much higher than before; at the time it was a lovely deal. The major problem was that it was assumed that we would have a mobile to use (which wasn't the case) and the staff, though well meaning, was completely at a loss and more often than not, absent. There was usually a note at the front desk with a number to call, but no telephone. So without the use of a mobile....

They have no maid service and expect you to use the dishwasher supplied. As this is most wasteful of the earth's resources I wanted to wash up in the sink, they did not supply washing up liquid and had no intention of supplying any. Otherwise there were no problems other than the lack of service and the poor customer care.

This was my first stay at a Marlin apartment - had a very comfortable studio apartment - very clean, modern and had everything I needed. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. Although near a busy road, didn't hear any noise and had no problems sleeping. Only very minor point was getting into the place as no clear signage when reception are away from the desk. Will be back however.

The apartments we stayed in were stunning myself and 3 friends stayed there. Clean, spacious, modern with every utlity you need. And sleeping wasn't a problem the beds were like sleeping on cloud I actually didn't want to get up in the morning to go shopping. My 3 friends and I are planning another visit to the same apartments in summer they were out of this world, not too far from central london and best value for money no more hotels for me.

The apartment was very nice and clean, with good furniture and a nice TV etc. It was just very small! We liked the fact that we were close to docklands, with good pubs and restaurants (we had dinner at Gordon Ramsay's GastroPub The Narrow which is less than 10 mins walk). The immediate area is a bit run down though, with not much around.

Apartment was modern and located perfectly relative to public transport into central London. Kitchen was somewhat bare, which was disappointing as we had planned to cook and have a meal in, ie no frying pan, no grater, no salt and pepper, etc. Apartment pretty clean, however needed dusting in certain rooms as appeared to have not been done for some time. A curtain on the front door would have offered more privacy! Also no spare blankets or a hairdryer. Great value for money if booking at last minute.

Positive - standard of cleanliness, modern and comfortable, spacious, a great place to stay when in London.Negative (being really picky) waste bin lid was jammed, a couple of utensils missing and a missing fire blanket. Holder was there but blanket gone.No one should be dissapointed when staying here - overall much better than a hotel if you do not need an in-house restaurant for breakfast. The concierge was very switched on and helpful with a warm welcome and a genuine smile.

Superb on the inside ... every mod con and very comfortable. Just a shame its not in such a nice or central part of town. Not in Docklands just in case like me you thought it was. Only a couple of stops on tube to get there though and only 2 stops to get to bank on the underground. Tube station is overground stop and not very pleasant .... and the walk to get there doesn't feel too safe ... keep your head down and walk quickly.

Check in was great- really friendly and helpful staff. Rang concierge only once to ask them to book us a cab. Was only too happy. Chatty and friendly reception staff. We stayed in a courtyard apartment which was lovely. The area is pretty rough but lovely apartment in the well kept courtyard meant that that was all forgotten once in there! Apartment itself was lovely inside. Nice interior decoration and lovely kitchen with granite surfaces and quality appliances. Bedrooms nice (we'd booked a two bed but our friends cancelled so only two of us stayed). Bathrooms good- was no plug for the bath but we didnt bother to ask as we were happy with shower. Judging by the friendly helpful staff I dont think it would have been a problem should we have asked though! Bed was really comfy. Only thing that let it down was the dirty carpets which had so many marks on them they were definitely due to be replaced. We were in London for a friend's party so only left the apartment via cab from the door. Wouldnt have liked to wonder round that area as not very nice. We parked the car in a side street as it was the weekend so easy to park and really handy. Dont know where we would have parked if it was during the week though. All in all a positive experience for a weekend stay. Would use again if in the area over and above a standard hotel- as much more space and facilities having an apartment.

The standard of accommodation offered was excellent. Generally it was well furnished but I was astonished that although there were wine glasses, there was no corkscrew... There were no details on how to switch on the bathroom heater although the staff were available to assist. It would have been nice if some information was available as to local shops, restaurants, buses etc.

Liked the accommodation, well thought out, well fitted out and spacious. Staff courteous and helpful. Arrival procedure lengthy and daft. Why on earth do I have to leave a photocopy of my passport as a UK citizen in a UK hotel? Description of location extremely misleading. It is more Shadwell than Limehouse and locale is dodgy with no decent food shops or restaurants in easy reach. Not an attractive place to go for a wander.

We were actually transferred by Marlin Apartments to Sratford, and so didn,t stay at docklands. At the time of hearing about the transfer, I was travelling to London on the train, so this was a surprise. We were visiting my daughter, who has recently started university in London, and is living at Whitechapel. We were upgraded to a 2 bedroomed penthouse apartment, which was very nice. However, the area was poor, and we were advised by a cab driver not to go out at night, in the area. It was also more incovenient, as we had to travel further to our destination, and pay for a taxi, and also upgrade our tube tickets, to include zone 3 for Stratford.

The hotel offers apartments instead of rooms. There is a cleaning service, but I doubt they spent enough time cleaning all rooms in the apartment especially the kitchen. The cubboard handles for example were still dirty. Except for the cleaning bit, the apartments were excellent for a weekend out in London. Better than a hotel room.

Having used Marlin apartments in various locations for business trips - was disappointed with the standard of the Limehouse one. Standard of cleanliness was not very good - things looked quite good on the surface when you first walked in - but on closer inspection it transpired that things had merely been given a quick wipe. The ceramic hob and backsplash had not been cleaned properly - the mugs still had tea stains down the outside etc. As a self catering apartment there was no kitchen equipment suitable for the oven ie no baking tray, casserole dish, potato masher etc - the knives in the block standing on the counter were so blunt it was a dangerous task just chopping up potatos and carrots for the evening meal - an accident waiting to happen !

My husband and I found the apartments excellent, the location could not have been handier for getting around. It was extremely quiet at night, no sirens blaring unlike other cities we have stayed in. Even though the DLR broke down on the Friday there was a taxi office right next door whose prices were reasonable. There was also a good frequent local bus service 20 yards down the road. and plenty safe crossing places.
