Small apartment that served a purpose

A little bit far out for our liking. A good a 15 mins walk to nearest tube, and then 25 min journey into the city. Well appointed modern apartment which only had a pull down bed though which wasn't very comfortable. Room was far too hot and we couldnt adjust the heating so slept with the windows open every night. Tv reception appalling. Apartment clean though and definately served the purpose for a city traveller but was over priced

Good Apartments !

Great apartment, unfortunately our TV was terriable allowing you to watch 10 minutes of TV before locking up and the internet did not work in our apartment either and the BT helplines were busy, corridors outside the apartment smelt foul. However the apartment itself and the rooms were amazing, and i cannot really hold Marlin responsible for other apartments. Parking was £16 per night and convinient.

Great spot, five minutes walk back into canary wharf

Great spot, 5 mins walk back to canary wharf where there is a fantastic Italian retaurant where we sat out for dimnner and breakfast. Handy for tube, docklands light railway and the ferry all of which we tried with no hassle. The apartment was sizeable, clean and quiet. Just watch you don't slip in the bath as I did.

Good Alternative to Overpriced Hotels

I had an apartment which slept four - two bathrooms, large kitchen diner - just for me, but it would have been sufficient for two on business. The apartment was beautifully furnished and there was plenty of space. Also very clean and tidy.
I was on a conference at Canary Wharf so the location was perfect, and the price (whilst still a bit toppy for my liking) was £200 cheaper than The Hilton! No contest...

Nice room shame about the smell

Found the receptionist to be not helpful. On entering the corridors to the appartment found the corridores to smell really badly of rubbish. The lift smelt of ...... Something else, wee I think. On entering the rooms found the tv to be on and on full blast. Apart from that the room was fantastic. As long as you held your breath on entering the place it was great!

Good value and self service

I think that this serviced accommodation provides much better value than the local hotels. The room and facilities were very pleasant and a small issue that I had was very quickly resolved without fuss.
Food halls etc. are nearby at Canary Wharf - about 5-6 minutes walk and a small store is located within 3 minutes. Likewise you are well serviced for restaurants at Canary wharf.

The apartment was furnished to a very high standard and was very modern inside. The beds were comforatble and the kitchen had everything you could possibly need. The check in time of 3pm was late. This did not leave us with much time to enjoy the apartment. The bathrooms in the apartment were not cleaned fully. Would definately use Marlin apartments again.

Close To O2

In general the apartment offered great value for money and was a great base to enable one to go to the O2 and back and stay in London at a very good rate. The apartment was very good and well equipped and in fact was very clean. The only thing that let it down was the dirty windows which gave it a run down feeling. Apart from that we enjoyed our experience and although we might try somewhere else we could also come back.
Value for money perfect.

Horrific - Avoid !!!

I checked into Marlin Apartments Canary Wharf on Saturday 26th February 2011. On Monday evening the tap in the kitchen would not switch off and was running constantly; a call to reception resulted in a young lady coming up to the apartment; breaking the tap completely and then informing me that there was no maintenance cover in the evening/ weekend. The best she could 'offer' was to turn the water off and have this fixed the next day. Well ! The following evening I arrived home from the office to find that the repair had not been made and the apartments were full !! so as the rather helpful lady on reception (lol) informed me 'I don't wish to be rude; but you have a bed - tough!!!!! I asked for a refund/ part refund for the 2 nights with no water and was basically told to 'Go Jump'.........also. Apartment No 3. Heating (individual room controls) did not work in either of the bathrooms, nor the hallway. Only 2 towels were provided for the whole week. Service is only provided for the first time one week after check-in - so although I stayed 6 nights in total there was no service - hence the same two towels. And get this ladies - you have to take your own rubbish to the underground car park - so safe (not)!!

Accommodtion .

Accommodtion was fine. Check out time is a joke. 10.30 Not happy the fact that a company holds your deposit £200 for 10 days after you have checked out. I uses hotels most wk ends and have never had this. It a liberty and not quite sure if its legal.
Hence I will not be using Marlin apts again.

The apartment itself was really good, clean and in a good location for the O2 Arena. The customer service was dreadful! We requested early checkin which we were told we would have to pay for and we accepted. However when we arrived the receptionist knew nothing of this and was most unhelpful. It took her 25 mins to check us in and then the apartment we had booked for 6 adults only had 4 beds. They then wheeled in the 2 foldaway beds and left us to set them up and were told to use the pillows from the other beds! This whole process took preciuous time which we didn't have which was a real shame as the apartment was very nice.

Dreadful Experience

Great location for working at Canary Wharf, room well equipped. However - mattress on the bed was so bad that I had to sleep on top of the duvet to stop the springs digging into my back. And then after no sleep, there was no hot water the next morning...
Wrote to Marlin to let them know the problems with the mattress and water so they could rectify for future guests - never heard back. Won't be staying there again!

I don't want to commute every day!

Perfect location for Canary Wharf. I would otherwise have to commute for over 5 hours each day. The studio apartment has plenty of space and there is a 7/11 store close by if you don't want to eat out in one of the many resturants. Marlin offers a good alternative to a hotel stay.

Uncomfortable bed and poor customer service, but very spacious and well equipped

Very spacious, clean and well equipped. However bed was a fold-down set-up which wasn't very comfortable. Customer Service: Night concierge wasn't in attendance when I arrived, and didn't show me to where I was staying, so I needed to make a couple of trips back to his office to clarify directions. No billing/invoice service available when checking out the following morning: had to ring the booking line between 9am and 5pm to request via email.

Excellent Value

First time we'd ever considered an apartment over a hotel. What a great way to have all the home comforts with flexibilty. The apartment was well presented, clean and a good standard. We'll be going back and probably not look at a hotel again.
Some people may be put off as it's not in central London, but the apartment is only a 5 min walk to the tube and then it's 12 mins to Waterloo. Canary Wharf istself is a great place to spend some time chilling out around the Bars Coffee shops and restarants. I like my 5 star hotels, but the apartment was just as good and much better value for money.

Great apartment in heart of London

Although it wasn't the best view in the world from my room, it was however an excellent good value clean apartment slap bang in the middle of the Docklands. The location is great, it was straight forward to book and felt like a home away from home. As a Londoner it felt like a great convenient get-away. I would imagine it to be a really handy place for a visitor or family from out of town to stay in. I would come again.
