What you need to know

Where It Is

Based at the heart of London's fashionable West End, The Mandeville Hotel is found in the trend setting district of Marylebone, a short stroll to Oxford Street, Marble Arch and Mayfair. With almost a village feel, Marylebone has the distinct benefit of being a leisurely walk from the hubbub of central London.

The Mandeville Hotel is situated amongst a blend of pavement cafes, shoe shops, fashion houses, beautiful baby and child shops and no shortage of kitchen home-ware shops. From 'Brissi' laden with ideas and beautiful pieces of furniture to The White Company with its distinctive crisp cool style. If you are in Marylebone on a weekend the Farmers Market is open every Sunday from 10 till 2pm. When you are staying at The Mandeville, Hyde Park (Buckingham Palace, The Mall, and Regents Park (The Zoo!) can be reached on foot, as well as Bloomsbury, Park Lane and Soho. Nearby Bond Street tube station serves the Central and Jubilee Lines.

What To Expect

Internationally recognised designers have created the hotel's 142 magnificent bedrooms, each furnished with luxurious materials and featuring all the facilities you could want. The style is quite angular, combined with soft deep purple, ornate gold fabrics and impressive pieces of furniture and sculpture to admire and peruse. The lobby is not audacious, but more intimate and boutique than grand and overwhelming. Shoppers are a regular feature with concierge kept busy carrying branded bags from pavement to bedroom.

The Mandeville has been created and designed by Andre Avedian with furniture beautifully coordinated by Julian Chichester. In your air-conditioned room, every marble bathroom is fabulously equipped with a power shower, hands-off radio and Penhaligons bath accessories. Your bed will be king sized or twin if you prefer and your decor will be classically British splashed with vivid colours, pieces of fine furniture and delicate touches.

The AA Rosette for Culinary Excellence deVille Restaurant is a great place to enjoy a modern British menu which Head Chef Matt Edmonds and his brigade of chefs have created. While deVigne Bar features extensive cocktail and whisky menus. Again the decor is British mixed with dramatic green urns, feature walls with psychedelic wallcoverings and a bar which Robert Gaggl and his team shake, stir and pour whatever drink you choose. Elegant afternoon tea is also an option, served on contemporary crockery and featuring truly delicious cakes and scones.

Breakfast at the time of writing is £15 per person, car parking is available (ask Front Desk to arrange) and your valuables can be secured in your laptop safe. A choice of superior double, the slightly larger luxury double or twin rooms are available to book. Hotels-London customers have enjoyed The Mandeville for its location, style and decor.

It's a British Classic that won't disappoint.
