Great hotel

We stayed here in terrible weather and when the hotel was difficult to access due to refurbishment work going on at London Bridge station but despite these, the staff were excellent in sorting out the best way of getting about and supplying umbrellas in a professional but friendly fashion.

London Marathon stay.

Was not told when I booked that major construction work was going on outside the hotel. This made getting to the hotel very awkward. Access to the train station was great. Room we stay in was clean but very noisy until about 3am in the morning! not good when you are running the London marathon in the morning...... Staff very helpful.

Sadly, only stayed the one night.

We only stayed the one night and wished it could have been longer. Very well equipped room, extra pillows in the wardrobe, robes and slippers available. The heating we could adjust to our requirements. Used all the bathroom products which were The Whie Company as we didnt bring our own due to packing. We were on the top floor and away from all the traffic noise, lots of building work going off around London Bridge area but we didnt hear any of it. All in all a good night stay and will definately use again.

Big name, small room.

We booked a "Superior Room" for 4 nights at this hotel. The room was on the 5th floor overlooking a huge building site, not pretty. The room was very small even for London, the TV was hanging off the wall and not working when we arrived, this was fixed by the second day. The lifts weren't working on one of the days we were there. The position of the hotel is great, right next to London Bridge station but with so much building work going on (not the hotels fault) around that area and close to the Shard it was not a pleasant stay. Nearly £800 for 4 nights, room only, no breakfast, doesn't seem good value.

Great location & nice beds!

We stayed here due to it's central location, although it is situated next to the train station (which is undergoing extensive refurbishment at present) and our room overlooked the station, we were not disturbed by any noise.
The room was quite small (we did have an upgrade to a superior), but no smaller than expected for a city hotel. For us it was a bed for a night, we weren't planniing on spending a lot of time in the hotel so it was more than adequate for our needs. The bathroom was quite smal too, but it was clean and the shower was of a decent strength which is all you need! (The shower was over the bath - not a separate shower with bath, in case that matters to anyone!)
The bed was big and very comfy, there were tea & coffee facilitiies and some lovely toiletries in the bathroom! Plenty of towels were supplied, a bathrobe, slippers, hairdryer - pretty much anything you would need for a one night stay!
We also arrived earlier than the check in time, but the hotel staff were very accomodating and let us check in early for no extra charge (I did ring the hotel a couple of days before my visit warn them of a possible early arrival and they did say they couldn't guarantee giving us an early check in, but they'd try their best!). The staff were very friendly, polite and helpful.
We hadn't booked breakfast, but we went down for breakfast the next morning - nothing wrong with breakfast, but nothing special either. It was £17 each, expensive but average for London prices. If you get a deal to include breakfast, go for it, if not there are plenty of restaurants around the area.

Lovely hotel with excellent location

Previous reviewers are correct: the hotel is right across the street from the busy London Bridge rail station and a construction site. Given that my stay was Saturday night / Sunday morning, however, there was no activity from the building site and the double glazing blocked out the trains really well. The room was on the small side, but it's London, and the enormous(and the enormously comfy) bed more than made up for it. Hotel staff were knowledgeable and courteous. Overall a fantastic stay and well worth the price.

Great location for Wembley & Stansted

We usually stay in The Tower Hotel when we’re in London , but the prices for the Champions League Final weekend in the Tower were substantially higher than what we would usually pay, so we decided to look elsewhere. We chose The London Bridge Hotel as it is on the Jubilee Line to Wembley, with Southbank right on your doorstep, and within easy reach of the very centre of London . It also suited us for our journey in & out of the airport as we flew into Stansted this time around and it’s only 2 tube stops from Liverpool Street , which is where the Stansted Express goes to. It is true that the rooms are slightly small and you definitely don’t choose this hotel for it’s view (we had a view of the street where there was a construction site). If I was staying for longer than a weekend I probably wouldn’t stay here as it could be a bit too cramped, but for a weekend where you spend most of your time out and about it was perfect. Fantastic location, comfortable beds, clean rooms & bathrooms, very nice staff, and a nice bar which stays open until 1am on Fri & Sat nights meant that The London Bridge Hotel offered us everything we needed from a London hotel at a price which was much better than other hotels in the surrounding area. We won’t be going back to The Tower Hotel for our next London weekend – their decision to dramatically increase their rates for the busy weekend has resulted in us going elsewhere and finding a place that suits our needs better, at a cheaper rate, so The London Bridge Hotel will be our new London home.

Would definately go here again, great value and great hotel

Stayed at the LBH recently and cannot fault it...we got a bit lost trying to find it but thats our fault not theirs and when we arrived they charged us less than late rooms quoted and even upgraded us to a better room. The facilities were perfect and the staff very accomodating. Breakfast the next day although not included in the price was first class if not a tad expensive but the money we saved on the room it was worth it.

A free upgrade to a superior room was welcome, as were the fresh apples, mineral water and wide array of magazines in the room. The room itself was quite small (but then it is central London), in excellent condition, with neutral contemporary furnishings. The toiletries were decent size White Company staples, which I liked. Be aware that building works are going on in the area at the moment, so access to the hotel is more limited than usual. We did not find the noise a problem.

Good location, terrible mattresses

Nice decor throughout the hotel and in a good location. Ours was a clean and well presented room, and breakfast and room service food was very good. Only problem was the mattress, it was so old you could feel every spring digging into your body which ever way you laid. They provided a quilted mattress cover to go under the sheet which didn't make any difference. A very disappointing nights sleep for both my husband and I.

Smart hotel - had to change rooms but ok after that

Paid £180 for a deluxe room and they tried to fob us off with what was clearly a standard room (and witha crane right outside the window!). Was then moved to a deluxe room which was very nice. If breakfast is not included don't bother at £17 a go, we had an absolutely beautiful breakfast on the Thames outside (under heaters) overlooking tower bridge for half the price, just a few minues walk away. Bar in this hotel is very nice and decor is very stylish. I'd recommend this hotel but just make sure you get the room you paid for and get breakfast elsewhere if you have to pay extra for it!

A reliable, comfortable hotel on the South Bank

We have stayed here several times. It is an elegant hotel with a stunning foyer and excellent rooms which are stylish and comfortable. Staff are uniformly helpful and reception staff even charged up my iPhone since I had left my charger at home. Food is okay, but nothing to write home about but room service is quick. Nice ?new bar with an interesting list of cocktails. Location is excellent for the attractions of the South Bank: the Tate Modern is only 10 minutes walk and Borough market is on the doorstep. Also the ferry service to the O2 is very near and an excellent way of getting there.

Great find in the City

We chose the London Bridge Hotel for our 1st wedding anniversary - and what a lovely place it was.
We were kindly upgraded to a better room and it was very comfortable. Despite being so close to London Bridge Station, we heard no excessive noise (which is unusual for Central London Hotels).
The hotel had a really nice atmosphere and all the staff were pleasant. The bar was the perfect place to relax after a long day of sightseeing and show watching, and the drinks weren't badly priced either.
For breakfast there are loads of Pret's and Starbucks nearby too.
Overall a lovely stay - and would stay again - great value for the city

Husbands 40th birthday treat

We actually stayed here for two nights, the first night being booked seperately as the 2nd night was part of a theatre package and because of this rang in advance to check that we would stay in the same room for the two nights of which they sorted without a problem.
On arrival and throughout our stay the staff were all very friendly and helpful.
The room itself wasn't very big but was more than adequate for our requirements, with plenty of cupboard and hanging space. It was clean and decorated to a very contemporary feel.
The first night we decided to eat in the hotels restuarant. The food and service again was excellent, although perhaps a little pricey, but didn't mind as being a special occassion.
The following morning we had ordered breakfast in bed. They rang the room when it was due to arrive to inform us that it was going to be late and hoped this wasn't a problem, of which it wasn't, 10 minutes later they rang again, very apologetically, to say it still wasn't ready but before I could say anything they said we wouldn't be charged. I know for some this still may not be good enough but for us we were having a very leisurely morning and was no problem at all and when it did arrive (about 10 mins later) it was absolutely lovely.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stayed here. Its location was ideal for our visit to London, being only two minutes walking distance from London Bridge station and many attractions such as Tower Bridge, London Dungeons and Borough Market only a "stones throw away".
We would definitely recommend this hotel and would definitely like to come and stay again.

Would have been fine but........................

Let me start by saying that I cannot fault the level of customer service we were provided with. We were allowed to store our baggage for the day after we stayed which was so useful while we explored London. However, as a number of other reviewers have mentioned, there is serious building work going on right on the doorstep of the hotel. We had an incredibly late night on the Friday as it was and being woken up at 4 am by what I presumed to a vehicle reversing alarm that went on for more than half an hour meant that I was simply exhausted for the whole of the next day. The room itself was ok but not outstanding (the bathroom was slightly tired and a lamp did not work) but the bed was lovely.
The location is pretty excellent for exploring London as London Bridge Station is right around the corner, but as impressive looking as the Shard is, the early Saturday morning wake up call was not appreciated and in terms of value for money, and enjoyment of our experience, this really did let it down. Shame, because otherwise I would have reviewed a lot more generously. I would not stay here again until all the building work had been completed.

Perfect venue for a trip to the Globe, hotel staff were excellent - cheerful, polite and attentive. Rooms were clean, well equipped and though not spacious were perfectly adequate. The Shard is being completed nearby and there is other local construction but noise levels were no worse than any other city centre hotel and did not affect our stay. The local area is great to wander around with a fantastic weekend market just steps away, and many local eateries if you prefer to eat out as we did. Value for money and a great location.

Lack of vital information

The Shard building is currently under construction next door. As I don't live in London or have a general interest in tall buildings, this was completely new on my arrival to London Bridge station. However late rooms or the reception failed to inform me that the building work will/drilling starts outside my window at 0715 on Saturday morning.
This I believe is a failure on their behalf and clearly misleading me by with holding this information. I would not have chose the London Bridge Hotel if this information was clear, which meant I wouldn't have started a sleep deprivation stage of a weekend by staying there.
