Scruffy room and tv didn't work - spoke to someone at reception but nobody came to fix it. Very noisy and breakfast was poor. Would definitely not stay again.

Summary
Room was clean but very shaby
Summary
We had a pleasant stay. We stayed for 2 nights in an ensuite 3-bed-room, although I had booked twin, but didn´t really mind. Room was very small, but clean and quiet. Breakfast was ok, although very simple (toast, jam, cornflakes etc.). Hotel is very close to Paddington Station and bus stops.
All in all, good value for money. The only thing I didn't like is that there is a fee for using credit/debit card and that you have to pay £5 if you want to leave your luggage at the hotel after check-out.
Bargain for £38. Room was spacious, en suite, clean, warm and airy. Can't ask for more.
Summary
Certainly not suitable for a couple.
Summary
It was good value for money and great for a short stay very close to paddington station for easy train access.
Summary
Great location, room was clean and modern, hotel staff were friendly. Not much of a view from room but what do you expect for £20 each / night in Central London? Could not ask for more for the price paid therefore would recommend highly
We didn't eat breakfast as we overslept after a night out so can't comment on that bit...
Having had a couple of hotel nightmares when trying to stay in London for £70 or less, I was feeling wary, but I had a warm reception, my room was clean with good bathroom and modern/recent decoration and breakfast was fine for the price. I will definitely stay again.
Summary
I am sorry to say that this was not a hotel I was thinking and what I thought it was when I saw it on internet. To small rooms and it was a very strange and awful smell in the room. It looked like fungus in the shower. The breakfast was sad to see, why do you serve juice in plastic cups? The boiled eggs came out on the breakfast table around 8 the breakfast started at 7am Sorry, not a hotel to recommend maybe to younger people but not to family's.
Summary
I was pleasantly surprised by how clean and well presented the hotel was. It was basic but better than I expected. The staff were pleasant and helpful. The only problems were that the room was a tad cold overnight and I was given a room above the kitchen or something and I could hear staff laughing and talking til quite late and then quite early the next morning. Wasn\'t a major concern though. In short, for the money... I was happy.

Summary
Excellent location - very close to Paddington station. The rooms were as expected for a London hotel (quite small and basic) but benefitted from free wi-fi and a flatscreen TV. The rooms were clean and newly furnished.
Breakfast was a bit of a task in the morning- help-yourself buffet and quite tightly packed seating but it was not a problem and the staff were friendly and helpful throughout the stay.
Overall, a nice hotel, friendly staff and very good location.
A very hot one. The room temp was far too hot it made you sweat even after turning all heaters off, only one of us slept through the heat
Summary
Very pleasant service from every employee. clean tidy small room. decor of the room a bit outdated. TV had only 2 channels with a clear reception, would prever duvet instead of blanket and old cover. Had a good night sleep. showerroom exellent.
breakfast basic, musli looked more like sawdust, next time I'll bring my own fork as they where not available in this hotel so I was told. I would recommend The Linden House Hotel it is good value for money.
Our stay was for one night whilst visiting one of our son's for the evening. We chose the hotel because it is very close to Paddington railway station. Whilst I do not look for a feast first thing in the morning, breakfast was a bit disappointing, comprising of no more than juice, two varieties of cereal, toast, hard boiled eggs, and tea/coffee to which guests helped themselves. It would be good to at least see some bacon and fried/scrambled egg offered on top of this breakfast fare, especially given that on our way from the hotel to the railway station we passed a cafe offering a cooked breakfast for just under £4=00. On the 'plus' side, our basement room was very comfortable, clean and roomy, and on arrival the receptionist, (male), was very polite and welcoming. The location of the hotel is in a quiet, tree lined street near to various shops
Summary
The flooring was not safe it was not cut correctly to fit the room which obviously left gaps around the edging some being fairly large. The bed looked as though it had just had a bed sheet thrown over it rather than it actually being made and the pillows were yellow on the inside I suggest taking a towel to place over the pillows in the future that being it was ONE single pillow so prepare for neck ache in the morning. The ceiling in the bathroom had mold growing over it rather disgusting, also the shower doors failed to shut properly and left a fairly big gap to allow water to seep through and cause a massive puddle. I would really suggest to anybody to stay in this hotel its in a decent location which include bars and restaurants which are also very cheap if chosen carefully but you could find that anywhere in the city. I wouldnt recommend to anybody in the future and wont be staying again, very disappointed.
Summary
The room must have been the smallest in the hotel, it was clean , we were two very smart ladies. up to see a show, we were very disappointed with the room.
no way can i believe that the room was saving me almost half price. i would not have payed the original price.
i feel i was conned into thinking i was getting a good sized room at a reduced price
very compact , excellent for just one night .
just two single beds, a tele on the wall and a small on suite, all very clean.
breakfast was fine. the staff were very pleasant and helpful
i would use the hotel again but would like to see the room first. , but the photos shown of the rooms it look fine.
you learn by your mistakes
no phone, nowhere to chill out.
Clean room, plently of hot water and excellent shower, friendly staff, breakfast was good
Summary
Close to Paddington so very convenient when arriving late at night. All well but there was a £5 fee to leave my little case in the breakfast room on the day of departure. This was waived in the end but only because I said I had never been charged before and was clearly not happy to pay.
Summary
Small but perfectly fine room. TV, WiFi access and a good shower. Bed was a bit bumpy, pillows thin and breakfast was poor, but for the £44 that I paid, it was pretty good value for money. Decent little budget hotel.
Summary
Ok for short cheap and cheerful but 60 steps to the room and it wasnt even the top level, no lift, small room clean but very basic
Summary
We only needed a bed for a few hours for my wife and daughter as we didn't arrive till 10 pm and were away for 7:30, thank god.
On the plus side the bed linen was clean and the room worked out £25 each per night but thats were it ends.
The bedroom light didn't work but since we were going to bed straight away I couldn't be bothered waiting up while it was sorted. The carpets were thread bare in the hall ways. The room was decorated by someone who is both colour blind and also likes to buy odd wallpaper rolls as it was a total mis-mash. The phone was under the bed, just where you'd expect to find it! We spent the first half hour listening to the people in the room above walking around.
Breakfast was self service; what I mean is there was no staff, piles of cheap bread stacked up so you can make some toast, the hot water boiler was luke warm (not turned on prior to breakfast) and the orange juice was still in the cartons - lovely.
I certainly would not recommend this hotel, and not if you wanted to leave valuable in your room - many signs kept re-itterating the fact that they cannot be held responsible for items stolen.
Just 3 slow walk minutes from Paddington Station, and three underground stations, room tidy with on suite and fridge. make your own breakfast of toast, cereal, and boiled egg, apple and orange juice and tea and coffee, as much as you want suited us perfectly. 24 hour reception, always willing to help, and web access avaliable. we were a family of 5 this place cost us just £24.50 per night each. you really cant beat that, and we had the best time ever, and will be back next year. many thanks to the Linden hotal and staff :)
Summary
For the discounted price this was exceptional value for money. Room basic but clean, tv worked, and free wireless. Didn't bother with the breakfast
Summary
The impression i got after reading the previous reviews left by other guests was not great, however after i got there everything exceeded my expectation, i would definetly stay in this place again.
Summary
I was pleasantly surprised by this Hotel.
It's in a very convenient location near Paddington and Hyde Park.
The staff were helpful and friendly at check-in.
The room was clean, tidy and overall good for a simple, quick overnight stay.
Not quite perfect ( e.g. worn stair carpets and some windowsills could do with some paint) but very good value overall.
Good location, very clean hotel and lovely helpful staff. Only bad thing was the breakfast, its a very small breakfast room and its really not worth getting up for breakfast
Summary
Good value for an overnight stay in London at the discounted price I paid, but would not have considered it worth much more. Location excellent. Reception adequate but outdated, room on the fourth floor up very narrow domestic style staircases, with no lift (OK for me, but I don't remember this in the hotel profile, and would be very difficult for someone with a disability). Room adequate and physically clean, but a strong smell from the bathroom which remained all night, although could not see a reason for it. Shame, as otherwise bathroom very good. Finishing touches lacking - no bathmat, leaving tiled bathroom floor very slippery from steam from shower; no spoon for tea / coffee.
Breakfast in basement - cereal, slices of bread for toast and pre-boiled eggs all that was available.
If you are literally looking for a cheap place to crash then this is your hotel
Shower was cold
room was absolutely tiny- in fact it was terrible
one cup and saucer for a room for 3
man behind the desk was friendly
the breakfast was bad- a toaster machine, no coffee left and a bowl of eggs
but for £45 for a 3 bed room you can't complain too much!
For £30 pppn I expected very little and was pleasantly surprised. We had the choice of two rooms and the gent at the front desk let us look around both before making a decision.
The staff were friendly and polite and made us feel welcome there.
The hotel itself is in a nice quiet street and is very close to Paddington station so it's easy to get into the busier parts of London.
The breakfast wasn't up to much, just toast and boiled eggs but I can't complain for the price.
I would definitely stay here again and would suggest it to anyone travelling on a budget.
We were given a choice of three rooms: we spent 10 min trying to get in, but the battery on the card key was off, so the receptionist had to open the door manually. The electric lights were not working, so we were offered another room, which was tiny and didn`t have towel rails in the bathroom. It had only half a roll of loo paper, the flash was not working and there was no tea and coffee facility as it was supposed to be, so we had to ask for it. There were no bedside lights, and the overhead light was as bright as cinema projector.
When we arrived we had to wait for the receptionist for 40 min and the whole building looked totally abandoned. So never again!!!!!!
Clean simple affordable accomodation, simple but ample breakfast
Summary
Room was great, pretty clean, two large single/small double beds in my room though I was alone. Bathroom was clean and pretty new with plenty of hot water. They provided towels, shampoo etc. Breakfast was fine, for the price. I payed 30 quid for all this which I thought was brilliant value. They even lent me an iron which was good.
The only problem was that the staff and their mates were pretty noisy until about half past midnight. I know that's not late but I had to get up really early so went to bed early and definitely couldn't sleep.
Hotel was ok but the only problem is ther no lifts not very nice when your on the 5th floor like i was its 76 steps to da top
omg,
Room was 4 bed, for me alone, bed was good, breakfast not spectacular, but he', 60 pound is for london really cheap, esp in the city. The only really bad thing was a big rim of mould on the shower tray. Easy to solve, replace it with no moulding silicone. Over all, value for money.
Summary
Really clean rooms and good transport links better than most bigger hotels
Summary
Terrible place. If they advertise a shower, well there isn't a shower, just a handheld shower attachment in a tiny wetroom that also contains the toilet (you have to remove the toilet rolls if you want to have a "shower" otherwise they get soaked!) its not easy standing in a small space trying to pour shampoo onto your head one handed while you try and hold the shower adaptor in a position whereby you don't flood the whole room. Grabbing hold of the "shower"'s tap only made it come off the wall in my hand. Mind you, when I sprayed the wall by mistake I did manage to wash some of the blood marks weirdly adorning the towel rail...
I was promised free wi-fi, then given the code to use it at reception, only to discover the basement room I was in had no wi-fi signal at all. I was helpfully told that if I stood in the corridor outside my room I might get a signal there... there was also no phone signal, and the TV only received two channels... good job I was only in the room a few hours.
The bed smelt, was filthy and covered in a shiny velvet-like red duvet that looked like it belonged in a brothel. Stamping your foot on the floor in the corridor outside brought up a cloud of dust and the stairs leading up to groundfloor were covered in cobwebs.
I chose not to risk breakfast and left as fast as I could....
It was cheap and I booked it with just a few hours notice... lesson learnt.
A fairly miserable hotel really, very basic but receptionist really good, and went out of his way to find a good room
Summary
This hotel perhaps had a glorious past (I noted the monogrammed carpets) but is now a little shabby. They also add a 4% charge if you pay by card... this really niggled me as I expect the price quoted to be the price I pay, but maybe that is the fault of laterooms?
The en-suite room was very very very small, but clean and the bathroom appeared to be newly refurbished and was finished to a high standard. Great shower!
The window was single glazed and didn't shut properly, nor did it stay open properly either. There is a fair amount of daytime noise, but the night was quiet.
TV worked fine. Iron made available upon request. Breakfast limited to toast with butter and jam, boiled eggs, cornflakes or museli and fruit juice or tea/coffee. Don't expect a cooked breakfast.
Very near Paddington tube.
My (same sex) partner and I spotted a flicker of hestitation when we booked into a double room "twin or double? are you sure?" but all the staff we encountered were polite and helpful.
Booked this hotel last minute and wasn't really expecting much but was pleasently surprised :) hot shower, clean bathroom and room, with a working tv! didn't really hear any noise from other guests in the hotel either so managed to get a good nights sleep. bed was comfy too!
