Breakfast selection very poor, with no service & bad organisation at busy times meant tables were not cleared for next guests. This also led to coffee, milk & juice runnng out. Room poorly cleaned, badly needed redecorating, cobwebs hanging down, rentokil vermine traps under bed, and carpet atrocious, covered with stains & cigarette burns. Reception staff very friendly & helpful. Hotel in great location, very handy for tube etc. but would not consider staying there again. Pictures on hotel website are very misleading regarding bedrooms

Having read the reviews after I had booked, I was slightly apprehensive about what we would find. However, we were pleasantly surprised as the room was fine but small and the bathroom although dark was clean and with an excellent shower. Breakfast was basic but acceptable and it was good to have a laptop in reception, although the promised wi-fi wasn't working in the bedroom. The situation, being very near to Paddington with buses and underground easily accessible was perfect. All in all very good value for money.

We stayed here after being stranded in London when flights were cancelled, roons are very basic but clean, need a serious coat of paint and some decent curtains but from the looks of the rest of the hotel the owners are doing it up bit by bit so hopefully won't be long until the bedrooms are done. TV only had 3 channels too.Breakfast very simple, free internet access in reception is a real bonus for London.Very handy for the tube, and if you're looking for a budget property then a reasonable option

Very disapointed with the very cramped accomodation not as stated in the advert. Breakfast consisted of toast and cold boiled eggs. Very cramped; like the bedrooms. Difficult to communicate with staff as few spoke English. Not sufficient teas and coffee in room. Would not reccomend this as value for money.

What a let down! The decor was shabby and incomplete. The throw on the bed had blood stain on it (though sheets seemed okay). Bathroom was TINY, hardly enough space to manoeuvre around the door to shut it. Would not have been happy to pay the non discounted price. Be warned there is a charge for card payment.

For the price we pay it was not worth it. first to get to the room you need it to climb 7 sets of stairs. I accidently spilled some juice on my bedsheets and notice at night that the sheets were not changed. I was told that bedsheets are changed every four days only. therefore we had to sleep with dirty linens until we left. the manager or owner of the place has an attitude problem...you feel like he is doing you a favor by staying in this place. we ask for soap because the tiny bar of soap had finished they got upset. I also heard other customers complaining about the service and uncleaninless of the bed sheets. We asked to be moved down to the first or second floor because my mother could not take walking up and up and down the seven set of stairs no cooperation from their part. Overall...This is a place I would recommend to my worst enemy

This hotel was very decieving, as it was nothing like the photo's. Although it was clean, but that was not good enough. There were 4 of us staying in a 2 x double bed room, which was a very unreasonable size as you could barely get through the door or around the beds. Also this room still had a fire exit sign above it when there was clearly no exit available. The bathroom was modern but the toilet flush was broken and the door to enter the bathroom had to be illegal as it was ever so narrow. To add to this, in the bedroom the plug socket was not fixed properly as when i removed a plug it almost came with it. One more thing the windows were very old and very stiff and hard to close or open as it to 3 of us to do it, which was very dangerous as 2 of us were standing on the beds. I have written this for the hotelier to see as they need to make some changes, as i found it unsafe. I do not want to make a complaint as I believe people deserve the chance to put things right. I do not expect this to be put on this site, however I do hope you take into consideration the flaws I feel this hotel has, for the safety and well being of its future customers as this was awarded 3* which I feel was too generous.

We stayed in a bedroom intended for 5 persons but thankfully we were only 3 people travelling as the room was tiny! How you would cram 5 grownups in there is beyond me!The room itself was nothing more than ok. Water damage on the walls and overall it could do with TLC! The hot water worked fine which was crucial to us.The fact that it was based in the basement next to the kitchen/ breakfast area was the most influential negative factor for us as we were woken up every morning around 6 o clock with the staff entering the fire exit (setting the alarm on) following extreme racket until we couldn’t take it anymore and got up for breakfast ourselves.. That experience didn’t do anything to make up for all that noise as none of us had ever seen poorer breakfast at any hotel we have stayed at! The juice was sour and the cereal stale.Location of the hotel is great but walking around the area with all those hotels around left me thinking I might have gotten a better deal somewhere else...

On the web site it stated that the Hotel had been refurbished we had no evidence of this, we were put in a room down in the basement, No handle on the bathroom door, the shower didn't even hang on the wall. The food was discusting, couldn't even put the milk and juice in a jug (that doesn't cost anything) the plates were chipped (again you could get a set of plates for next to nothing) not sure where the 3* comes from personally. Wouldn't stay again.

Wasnt expecting much for £60, but the picture of the room on the Linden House Hotel website was in no way, shape or form anything like the room we were presented with. The room had not even been cleaned from previous occupant when we arrived! Our room smelt musty and to shut the bathroom door, you have to stand in the shower!! Would not recommend a stay here to anyone.

We really enjoyed our stay in Linden House Hotel. The value for money was excellent and it was very close to Paddington Station, allowing us to walk back and forward to the tube stations to go into London. It was easy to get to and the staff was very hospitable. The room was simple but very clean and nice, perfect for a young couple. I would recommend it to people that are visiting London for pleasure and spend a lot of time exploring the sights, as it makes an excellent base. I would not hesitate in using it again.

Room for 4 - one towel. Not accessible with 7 flights of stairs, no lift (we travelled with my 81 year old mother, 6 suitcases filled up! Breakfast of the poorest standard we've ever experienced. We got back at 9pm after a long day of sightseeing returning to a room that wasn't touched by the cleaning service - morning coffee mugs still dirty. Don't waste money on this establishment that clearly lacks ANY service. To a comment I made to the duty manager regarding the bad service I got the following reply: "you should see other hotels in London, they're even worse..." - I rest my case.

We stayed for two nights in the hotel. The room was a let down, not like we saw on the picture, and did not meet a 3star rating in my opinion. It was very basic and not worth the amount of money we paid. Although the accomodation appeared clean and tidy on two separate occasions me and my partner saw mice running around on the ground floor near the breakfast room, therefore we did not wish to eat. When we informed reception they did not appear to care or be suprised!! Would not reccomend this hotel to anyone.

Very little storage (for 2 people), no bedside lamps, no chair- just the bed to sit on.Breakfast room also very crammed and a bit chaotic at busy times. On the positive side it was quiet (we were at the back of the hotel) and the location is great for Paddington and Hyde Park. Also near lots of eating places and good pubs. Staff polite and extra pillows supplied very quickly.

Lets start with the good, staff friendly & very helpful & that`s where it ends. Room so small, good job didn`t need to swing cat around had no chance. Also not that clean either. Note to fellow stayers take your own pillow! The one provided, & yes there was only one, was well past it`s sell by date being flat & lifeless!! We were put on 3rd floor no lifts & tight squeeze to get bags up & very tiring! Didn`t have breakfast as room too small to accomadate all guests, long queue!!!! Asked to leave bags there for couple of hours at a cost of £5 per bag. Thought they would be put somewhere secure & no just dropped in the hallway!!!!

The room was appalling, with scuffed carpets, a dribbling shower, marked walls, a careworn kettle, scant tea bags, no biscuits, no double-glazed windows and an old bed. Add to this a cramped breakfast room with a decrepid toaster, a surcharge on our booking fee to accomodate a credit card transaction and you'll see why we would never stay at this B and B again.Well you did ask.

I believe that this was the only room that could be for single use (thought I can't imagine 2 could ever use it!) The bed was a small double and just fitted the width with no room for any bedside table, the switch for the light over the bed was too high up the wall to use in a sitting position, the only spoon provided for tea or coffee was a desert or tablespoon!. There was one thin blanket on the bed and I later had to use the extra blankets though these smelt as if someone had thrown up on them. The shower, however, was lovely, obviously refurbished. Breakfast was a farce - there was no-one to receive one or direct one to a table, very cramped little room and not enough tables for guests who kept piling into the room and queueing to put their slices of bread onto the conveyor belt toaster. Not exactly a relaxing breakfast and I was glad to return to my room for a cup of coffee! The pictures for this hotel on the internet are not realistic.

Stayed for 2 nights at the Linden, upon our arrival the check in gentleman was really welcoming checked us in fine, we made our way up to the room, the room was tidy and clean, tv, 2 beds, kettle, the bathroom was really clean and nice. The staff were very nice everytime we passed through reception, the only bad point about the hotel was the breakfast although free, it was really poor, bascially it was toast on the worst toasting machine in the world or pour your own orange juice from a carton, they could do alot better with this part. All in all a nice hotel and I would stay there again.

Had we not been asked to pay in advance (on arrival) we would probably have looked for a better hotel for our second and third nights. The staff were good. The basic breakfast of cereal and toast was marred by a d.i.y. conveyor toaster that was defective. Our room had wafer thin walls, hair in the bedside cabinet drawers, an extractor fan in the en-suite that made more noise than a lynx helicopter and a pest control poison box under the bed that set my wife's mouse phobia off to a full gallop. Overall? Good value, clean sheets and kind staff. We will probably stay again . . . . probably.
