If you have a disabled member, leave well alone.

Hotel would have got an excellent review BUT I am disabled (crutches only, not wheelchair) however, I was confronted by steep steps up to the hotel with no disabled access. Room was on the 2nd floor which there was a lift to, but was confronted on leaving the lift with a steep staircase to the room. No drawbacks though for person with me (able-bodied).
All-in-all a good hotel apart from disability problems.

Big problem with the bathroom drains but resolved by staff

The room I was initially allocated had the window open (this is Feb in London winter), which I immediately closed as the room was cold, I thought this was a little odd but thought nothing more about it. I went out for dinner. On my return the room smelled sewerage. This was why the window had been left open. I went to reception and suggested this wasn't suitable and I wanted another room that didn't have a drains problem. They denied knowing anything about the problem with room 12 but instantly offered me a much larger and more pleasant room (which didn't smell of sewerage). I was happy with this at this price. However, the hotel should fix the drains in that room and not try to sell this room to unwitting travellers.

Not bad for the money

I paid £69 for a double, which I would say was fair for what I got. I thought the corridors etc were tired. Room was OK, not what I would call boutique, as suggested on the marketing. Clean enough room and friendly staff. Bathroom tired. Overall OK, but I would prob go elsewhere next time.

The hotel lobby and style are nice. I stayed in a single room which was really really small. The room was clean and it was OK....... but it was small.

Booked here to stay with overseas nephew. Closer to Gloucester tube than South Kensington and had a good walk for my older legs which i wasn't expecting. Shower cubicle quite small and no spares in reception e.g. toothbrush which I would have paid for. Good value breakfast though.

Very disappointing

Room was very small and poorly maintained (ill fitting blinds etc). Although attempts had been made to make the room better with a few modern pictures and light fittings the basics were very poor - sink which didn't drain, blinds which let in a lot of light, poorly fitting window which let in a lot of noise from the street below. I've stayed in hostels better than this. I wouldn't stay here again.

Rubbish Hotel

Upon checking in, I was sold the continental breakfast. This consisted of some bread (the toaster was broken for part of my stay), some jams, a choice of 3 cerals and some stale croissants. I was also asked if I wanted to purchase the overpriced internet.
The room quality was poor and the bathroom was awful. The windows were not double glazed so the noise from the traffic was horrific. To top it all, the blinds in the room were broken and when complaining, the staff just closed each slat manually and said "There you do, that will do". Unbelievable!
The sinks in the shower and the basin were both blocked. Absolutely disgusting.

The Rooms are looking a bit dated and needs some TLC

I have stayed in this hotel several times over the past 10 years. Now the rooms are showing signs of age and need an overhaul to clean up the scratches on the woodwork, to fix the sinks that are partially blocked, to repair the carpet etc

Cheap room, great location. Needs updated

Great location on Cromwell Road. However the hotel is very dated inside and this is compounded by the poor corridor layout and irregular room shapes.
Needs updated across the board but as a sleep only place at this price it is recommended. Loads of bars, restaurants and shops close by plus Gloucester Road tube. Just dont plan on spending much time in the room. A little bit hot as well.

Great Hotel

I nearly didn't book this hotel based on the reviews I had read but was glad I did. Our room was huge with a King size bed. Very trendy decor & very clean,. The bathroom was a little small but had a great power shower with shower gel provided. Staff seemed friendly & it's location is great. Gloucester Rd Tube just a short walk. Would definately stay here again.

Small rooms, suitable only for a late overnight stay, don't expect any luxury

We booked a double room for one night, the day before we were due to stay on laterooms.com. Our room was the width of a window at the front of the hotel (wide enough to walk down the left hand side of the double bed which was against the right hand side of the wall.) There was a small TV and desk at one end and a wardrobe plus a small shower room and toilet behind the bed. The room was adequate for an overnight stay, but even on laterooms massively overpriced for what you get. The bed was uncomfortable as it sank in the middle and several hairs were removed from it before sleeping. We stayed as a last minute business trip and as we were so tired from work we slept anyway otherwise I would have changed rooms.

Rubbish don't be fooled by the internet pictures!

I stayed here with a girl friend as it was central and close to our place of work the following day. I have stayed all over the UK with work and in many hotels abroad and I think for the money this hotel is totally over rated. The staff need customer service training - they could not even be bother to point out where our room was located. The rooms are so small and the bathroom you can't even open the door properly as it's so cramped! We would of had better service and quality of accomodation ast the Holiday Inn up the road. I never complete reviews sites but felt for future guests sake i would as this is very misrepresented on the web site.

Strangely Mixed Experience

The room was basic and clean though the TV was extremely basic. The en suite had an air of quality with marble tiling but was incredibly cramped. The shower was most cramped of all; I've never been in one so narrow. The continental breakfast was was basic but of good enough quality, though the servery area was cramped, being further complicated by fellow guests negotiating past one another.

Are all hotels in London so expensive

This was the least value for money hotel I have ever stayed at. It was OK for one overnight stay for a business trip but would ever choose to bring family here. For £153 for one night I expected a little better. I had to unplug the tv to use the kettle. No towles in the room to dry off after shower. the bathroom was tiny and I was in a superior room. Breakfast next morning was basic. However it was clean and warm and the staff were friendly.

Very poor.

The shower water was cold and when I mentioned this later I was told I should have let the water run for 5 minutes! What a waste of water!!
The very small room was only single glazed and was cold and the washbasin was confined so washing was difficult. The pillows were lumpy and the duvet thin so I had to use the rug.
The tea things were mean, just one tea bag one sachet of decaff coffee and one of ordinary coffee.
The visual tour was extremely deceptive with the use of a fish eye lens .

I found your hotel on laterooms.com, and liked the price and the look of it.

I enjoyed the overall location of your hotell, and the communal rooms were good. I did however find my room rather small and poky, and I also found it hot and stuffy, so it was difficult to sleep and breathe in there.

Not recommended. Tiny room, perfunctory staff and a rip off! Not nearly worthy of its 3 stars...

My husband and myself booked into this hotel for 7 nights in July. When we were given the keys to room 317 we were met with a room that was no bigger than a walk-in cupboard. Moreover there was no chair, no bulb in the lamp (the wire was frayed), had a dated Television set which had a poor signal anyway and the windows were draughty and noisy.
As for the bathroom, it was the smallest one we'd ever seen. The wash hand basin was so near the wall it was a real struggle to get past it and into the shower. The shower head itself was also a filthy health hazard.
The front door staff were perfunctory and all staff in general seemed sullen and unhelpful. When we complained about room 317 after the first night, we were eventually given another room which was marginally better. However, they seemed unconcerned and judgmental, as we'd only booked for an economy room!
How this hotel was graded 3 stars is beyond us. Economy or no economy, this is not the standard that we expected from a 3 star hotel in London's west end in 2010. We've stayed in plenty of other decent quality 3 star hotels in the past but we both feel we've been ripped off by this experience as it was also my husband's 70th birthday treat in London. Not to be recommended!

Great location being close to Glouceter Road Tube, staff were very helpful and didn't charge us extra for looking after our bags while we shopped. Our room was clean but a bit tired, especially the bathroom, which was tiny; the shower also leaked. When we spoke to Reception about this, we were told that there are much better rooms - for obviously more money.
