Waited 45mins to check in and hours later still long queue to check in. Major renovations taking place- Hotel corridor freezing cold as had to pass through renovations where temporary wall had been constructed between corridor and outside. Room at end of this corridor so also freezing cold.Complained to concierge who advise he would deal with, but had a second night cold. Curtains falling off rail. Room very small and very tired. Bathroom so narrow had to clean teeth side on to sink. Dreadful stay and terrible food.

The hotel is currently undergoing refurbishment. Dust everywhere, dirty small rooms where it takes an hour to check in by rude inept staff.

We stayed here on a week night as we went out in London and would not have been able to get home. I think I would have preferred the 17 mile walk. The staff are rude, either staring blankly or just abrupt, with no team work between them. The hotel is really shabby, carpets held together with black tape in places, large patches of fraying in others. The room they put us in was so small that we couldn't walk around the bed, which was wedged at the back of the room against the window. The bathroom wasn't particularly clean.
The bar didn't have any of it's draught lager's working, and I had to send my glass of wine back twice before giving up on it. I was assured it would come back off the bill, but it did not, which then led to quite an argument with reception the next morning. All in all, a terribly run, shabby hotel that is not worth paying any money at all for. I have no idea where the 4 * came from, not even toiletries in the bathroom. Breakfast I asked before we went in if they did poached eggs, which they said they did but when we asked a waiter, we were told they did not. On going back to the lady who took our room number, she acted like she had never set eyes on us. Finally another waitress said they did do poached eggs. Do not eat them, you can't get the taste of egg from the taste of the vinegar. Disgusting.

Hotel was very good even though major refurbishment was taking place. hence the good value for money. The bar however was very expensive ven for london.

Nice room all round. ours was a twin room (2 single beds stuck together). quite decent price for the quality and location. v close 5min to tube station (high street Kensington).
didn't get a chance to use the spa bit.

The hotel is coping well with renovations and is in a fantastic location. My one disappointment was that the TV did not work and it is ancient. Normally not an issue but this time I had an early start and wantd to watch football in peace.

My partner and I had a very pleasant stay. We were in a brand new room and everything was clean and shiny. All appliances worked well and the service was excellent.

The room I was in had air con which blasted out hot air all night long. The controls on the wall seemed to be unconnected with the heating, as the off button and temperature settings did not work at all! I ended up with the window open (in November) and lying on the top of the bed all night - still too hot.
I don't recommend the place unless they fix this sort of basic problem, or you like tropical conditions

We enjoyed the hotel very much. The service provided by the staff in all areas was excellent and the room was comfortable, clean and fresh.
Despite the major refurbishment work that was taking place, the hotel was pleasant and welcoming.
Would recomend this hotel to family and friends, a great location with easy access to London's sites.

Budget rooms, central, clean & tidy, loads of staff, casual but efficient and unintrusive attitude, very decent bar, shame about the building work but hey... If you want more for 80 quid a night for two then happy hunting. A first choice for me :)
