Very disappointing

Just what we needed

Comfortable and convenient with very friendly and accommodating staff, this was perfect for our purposes, but only at the reduced price we got from Late Rooms. There was quite a lot of noise at night outside our room- one gets the impression that this hotel plays host to a bit of a party crowd. We used the express checkout service which meant no hanging around, but we are still waiting for the receipt from the hotel.....

Brilliant breakfast gloomy bathroom

One of if not THE best cooked breakfast in any hotel I've stayed in. Bathroom was badly lit and with taps that needed a lot of trial and error before they did what you might expect them to do.

Fab food, noisy plumbing!

The K West was a lovely hotel but the offerings a bit basic - for example there was no soap in the room! The decor lovely and staff friendly. The plumbing was ridiculously noisy and there seemed to be some drainage issues which was a bit of a concern. The breakfast was amazing, lovely lovely food!

Very pleased with the value of the room at GBP 106.80 - everything you could want included (except maybe the sections of clear glass to the bathroom which meant you could be spied upon - a very strange design fault!). The only gripe I have is with the 'private hire' cars - I ordered a taxi to go to Acton (1 road, less than 2 miles) - the driver got lost on two occasions and charged (in his words) 'just GBP 15.00'. The return journey in a black cab was GBP 7.00. On complaining at reception I was advised that it was a 'flat rate' as they were 'private hire' - which hadn't been advised upon booking. All in all though, a great venue, the perfect location for Westfield, and I would stay again without hesitation.

A short post-Christmas break

We selected this hotel through LateRooms so that we could be close to where most of our London-based family is living. It fitted our requirements admirably being close to the road, tube and bus routes. The accommodation was peaceful and comfortable and we enjoyed our full breakfasts.

What a disgrace this hotel is!!

Stayed on the 22nd December. Having booked at approx 10.00pm to turn up at midnight, it took over 20+ minutes for them to check me in, following an 16 hour journey from Bogota. Their excuse was that 'the reservations staff leave at 7pm' which appeared to mean that their entire system was unable to cope with a single booking, of which I had printed confirmation.
They then proceeded to put me into a room which was at the total far end of the hotel in an area only accessed by stairs on the 7th floor. On arrival in the room, the air con was not working and they had put a portable air con unit that was just a tad quieter than the take off runway at heathrow. The TV was also blaring out, but did not have any picture. I called down to the reception and someone came up to look at the TV. After fiddling around for 10 minutes and still not being able to get any kind of picture, then came the classic question ' Do you actually want to watch any TV now or tomorrow?' !!! Of course I sodding wanted to watch TV? Why on earth did I ask you to come and repair it if I did not want to use it.
After much going back and forth, and leaning that the hotel was half empty, they managed to find me another room but were unable to actually give me a key! This room, whilst larger, was still poor - the air cooling system appeared to do the opposite to what the instructions indicated - I found two carrier bags stuffed behind one of the bedside tables, which had a couple of stale, half eaten sandwiches still in them - and pubic hairs were abundent in the bath tub......................
On checking out, I was asked if my stay had been good. I commented that there had been 'problems', but rather than asking what those problems might have been, I was told - ' I'm sorry to hear that. That will be £105 in total please......'.
I am sure that most others experiences at this hotel have been better than mine, but at a time of year when most hotels are begging for customers, their terrible service and other problems have confirmed that I will not be staying there again and I will make it my purpose in life to recommend anywhere but K-West in future to my music biz buddies..............

Great deal, great facilities, but the staff were a bit snotty

The hotel is in a great location and we got a really good deal. It has smoking rooms which is great if you're a smoker, but the rooms really do hold the smell, so not so good if you're not a smoker, but I doubt they put non smokers in those rooms anyway.
There is parking on site, but the attitude of the parking attendant left much to be desired, and in parts felt that the attitude of the staff was a little on the pretentious side, but its nothing that would put me off going back, overall a great stay.

A modern luxury spa hotel very close to Shepherds Bush Green but in a quiet side street. Room was very comfortable, clean and more spacious than we expected, decorated in a classy minimalistic style. We didn't try the spa facilities although I'm sure they're lovely. We resented paying an additional £25 per person to use them despite paying premium room prices. Surely a luxury hotel with spa should allow it's guests to have complimentary use of the facilities? We've seen countless examples of this at other luxury hotel chains and feel K West have let themselves down with this. We didn't try the bar or restaurant as the menu looked expensive and uninteresting - there are endless restaurant choices at the Westfield shopping centre which we would prefer. Same for breakfast. In summary: a comfortable place to lay your head if you want to stay in the Shepherds Bush area but not good value for money and no special features to distinguish this hotel from any of it's more centrally placed competitors

Thought it was a good deal

Little bit disappointed, that although this hotel was rated 4* it was impressive. However the shower only gave cold water and didn't work properly which we found out others had a problem with so could just have been a maintenance thing..
Worst thing was we booked through LateRooms got to the hotel too early fine, when we went to get our room card which was nearly midnight they wanted us to pay double for our room, so I showed them the email from LateRooms and they seemed to not know what it was, eventually! as it was in writing they excepted it however by this point I was a little disappointed with the customer service. Bit wary of booking through LateRooms in future as friend said she booked someone with them and the hotel had no record! Don't know whether it was website or hotel where confusion came from.

Expensive but clean

We felt that this was a very over priced hotel, although clean and comfortable they charge for every single extra, including £2.50 for a small plastic bottle of water! There is a charge of £25 each for the use of the spa and this is not clear on the web page or on late rooms.

Best place in this part of town

K West was easy it was to find, despite being in a side street. I arrived very late and the check-in was efficient and polite. I was lucky enough to get an upgrade so I may be biased. My suite was amazing. The mattress on the bed was one of the most comfortable I've slept on and the ensuite was a luxurious dream. It's a shame I didn't have more time to use the separate lounge with large flat screen TV, squidgy leather sofas and Tassimo coffee machine. The Laterooms price was already a bargain - but I was really lucky to get the upgrade too. Although it's a way out of Central London, the tube to Shepherd's Bush is just round the corner - so next time I'm staying over in town - I'm going to check out K-West first.

A Little Tired

We have stayed at the K West numerous times before, however, have now agreed that we will not stay again, as there are other, better options within the price bracket. The hotel is now showing it's age: it needs a refresh. When we arrived, it was apparent someone had smoked in our room - we asked to be moved, and were told that there were no other rooms available - they did however send someone to the room to Febreze the carpet!!!!!! I was still not satisified with this, and made a fuss: mircaculously another room became available ....
It's not a cheap option either - our stay costing £249 for one night - we've decided it's just not for us anymore!

Great hotel but beware the valet parking!!!!!!!!

First the hotel: drinks expensive........ can't really fault it on anything else!
Now the car parking!!
Arriving at this hotel, my new RangeRover 5.0SC had notched up only 450 miles inclusive of the 200+ mile journey from York. Valet parking is compulsary. When my car was returned 15 hours later it was covered in what I now know to be "honeydew". This is basically excretion from insects that eat tree sap for the sugar content. I brought it to the attention of the Reception Manager (who was really helpful) & his opinion was that a decent professional wash would resolve it & he refunded me £15 to cover this cost. Unfortunately it didn't touch the honeydew & the valet company advised me to take my car to a proper vehicle bodyshop who quoted afull day's labour to remove the deposits. After two weeks, the hotel agreed to stand this £288 cost.
If you are driving to this hotel, google honeydew before travelling & make your own mind up... As I stated above, this is a good hotel - but don't let the valet attendant park your car under a tree at the wrong time of year!!
Would I use this hotel again? Yes! (but I'd arrive by tube rather than car!)

Only criticism was that the shower door didn't quite close properly but we fuigured it out! Staff were really pleasant and friendly. Ordered a pizza from room sevice - kid of pricy at £15! but delicious and well made. Convinietly next to Shepherd's Bush tube, 20 mins away from Holborn. Overall a fabulous stay!

Great boutique hotel if you are visiting the BBC or Westfield

Very friendly staff, we were given an upgrade without asking for one! Clean room, powerful shower and good sized bed. Staff were all really helpful, nothing was too much trouble. Food in the Kanteen was okay but £4.95 for a bowl of chips is excessive (even by London prices!). Shepherds bush itself doesn't have a huge amount going for it but you are only 10 mins on the tube to Oxford Circus and the station is a 3 minute walk from the hotel.
