We booked this hotel about 7-10 days in advance and got the room for what I considered to be a great price considering what other hotels were charging during the Easter break (we were charged 109 GBP for the first night and 139 GBP for the second night. Other hotels were charging more than 50% of that price in most cases and/or were not in a good location). The hotel was just a short walk (approximately 1-2 blocks, 5 minute walk) from the Angel tube station - GREAT LOCATION since we arrived by train into Kings Cross and one of the most important requirements of this trip since we were traveling with our 10 yr old and wanted to get where we were going quickly and efficiently. He found the tube to be quite fun so it was great! There were several restaurants nearby for your convenience. The hotel itself was very inviting, clean and appeared to be a newly constructed building - definitely not old and drab like many hotels we've stayed in in the past here in England and other places in the UK. The hotel pub provided excellent customer service, great food/drinks and was priced just right. The hotel staff was friendly and always greeted us with a smile. The breakfast buffet was fantastic - loads of food to choose from at a decent price (about 9 GBP per person). I'm not sure if getting breakfast included is any cheaper though. Worth a look. The room we stayed in was a "standard" room I believe which had 1 queen bed and 1 twin bed. Our party consisted of 2 adults + 1 child so that accommodation was perfect for us. The room was bright, clean and spacious - plenty of room to walk around and inbetween the beds and move about and lay your luggage out if needed on the floor. The linens were nice and fresh. The beds were a bit uncomfortable though - very firm and the springs could be felt through the mattress if lying in a position that pushed the mattress down a bit further (on your side). But, I was so exhausted from all the sight seeing that that didn't interrupt my slumber any. The bathroom was spacious as well and clean. The water pressure was great and there was plenty of hot water to last 3 hot showers one right after the other. The hotel also provided shampoo and body wash so there weren't any inconvenient trips to the shop to buy any toiletries for our stay. In addition, there was a blow dryer in the room which is always nice for a lady to wants to pack light. There was also a small wardrobe to hang clothes if needed. There was a kettle and complimentary tea/coffee which was very nice. The tv was nice (flat screen) and the channels available were descent but don't recall any kids channels so if you will be spending any down time in the room, bring other entertainment for your kids. All in all, we very much enjoyed our stay and I would without a doubt stay here again! I've already raved about it to my friends.
