Helpful Staff

We choose to use this hotel for the marathon weekend because of it's relative ease of access. The food was very good, accomodation was clean and well maintained. All of the staff were very helpful especially when we had a problem with the parking.

FABULOUS!

We booked this hotel about 7-10 days in advance and got the room for what I considered to be a great price considering what other hotels were charging during the Easter break (we were charged 109 GBP for the first night and 139 GBP for the second night. Other hotels were charging more than 50% of that price in most cases and/or were not in a good location). The hotel was just a short walk (approximately 1-2 blocks, 5 minute walk) from the Angel tube station - GREAT LOCATION since we arrived by train into Kings Cross and one of the most important requirements of this trip since we were traveling with our 10 yr old and wanted to get where we were going quickly and efficiently. He found the tube to be quite fun so it was great! There were several restaurants nearby for your convenience. The hotel itself was very inviting, clean and appeared to be a newly constructed building - definitely not old and drab like many hotels we've stayed in in the past here in England and other places in the UK. The hotel pub provided excellent customer service, great food/drinks and was priced just right. The hotel staff was friendly and always greeted us with a smile. The breakfast buffet was fantastic - loads of food to choose from at a decent price (about 9 GBP per person). I'm not sure if getting breakfast included is any cheaper though. Worth a look. The room we stayed in was a "standard" room I believe which had 1 queen bed and 1 twin bed. Our party consisted of 2 adults + 1 child so that accommodation was perfect for us. The room was bright, clean and spacious - plenty of room to walk around and inbetween the beds and move about and lay your luggage out if needed on the floor. The linens were nice and fresh. The beds were a bit uncomfortable though - very firm and the springs could be felt through the mattress if lying in a position that pushed the mattress down a bit further (on your side). But, I was so exhausted from all the sight seeing that that didn't interrupt my slumber any. The bathroom was spacious as well and clean. The water pressure was great and there was plenty of hot water to last 3 hot showers one right after the other. The hotel also provided shampoo and body wash so there weren't any inconvenient trips to the shop to buy any toiletries for our stay. In addition, there was a blow dryer in the room which is always nice for a lady to wants to pack light. There was also a small wardrobe to hang clothes if needed. There was a kettle and complimentary tea/coffee which was very nice. The tv was nice (flat screen) and the channels available were descent but don't recall any kids channels so if you will be spending any down time in the room, bring other entertainment for your kids. All in all, we very much enjoyed our stay and I would without a doubt stay here again! I've already raved about it to my friends.

Pleasant hotel

Jury’s Inn is ideal for a business trip. Check in was quick and easy, my room was clean, suitably furnished. Bed was huge! I had a very comfortable night’s sleep, the shower was also great! wi-fi was a little pricey at £10 for 24 hours.

A Ryan Air approach to 'hospitality'

I chose an established brand because I anticipated good service and quality, but had neither.
I had pre-paid through laterooms but was asked to pay again until I pointed out that I had a receipt.
There were basic - mostly minor - faults with the room - main lighting a standard lamp that did not work; bathroom extractor not working, etc but I was too tired by the time I had discovered these problems to ask the hotel to do anything about it.
Everything about the accommodation was about as basic as you could imagine. But it was fairly clean.
I had asked for a continental breakfast and expected the usual cold meats and cheeses alongside croissants etc - no - Jury don't seem to share my definition of continental.
What really irritated me was to discover that access to the internet is still regarded by this company as an optional extra - at £10 for 24 hours (which is in rip-off territory - even most local pub B&Bs offer free wi-fi nowadays)
I shall not return.

Great Value Hotel

The Jury's Inn Islington bedrooms have been recently refurbished to a lovely standard. The beds are so comfy and the bathrooms are clean and in good condition (the showers are fantastic!). The rooms are large and surprisingly quiet with the window open. I don't think you can go wrong with this hotel; 10 minutes walk from Islington's restaurants - although I will now never need to go further than across the road as Jamie's Italian Kitchen has just opened!! You are about a 10 minute walk from Exmouth Market and about a 25-30 minute walk from High Holborn, Chancery Lane end, so it's close to the city. It is a great hotel, great value, great staff. Love it, will definitely be back.

Lovely to have a proper bed for our son in the family room instead of the usual camp-bed.
Only one annoyace - £4 for a bottle of water! Does anyone actually but them? Come on, give us a complimentary bottle, or none at all.

Served the purpose

Room was fine for 1 night stay. As this was a late minute deal, then it was value for money but not sure if at full price will feel the same.
very friendly reception staff. On the night of the stay we encountered a fire alarm at 4.20am and apart from following the crowd we weren't sure where to go.
very poor communication of what was going on and was unsure whether any staff was on the premises.
having had an interrupted sleep, which of course was of no fault of the hotel, we found ourselves on the receiving end of 2 knocks on the door during the morning by the cleaners.
taking into account that check out was noon, the cleaners were very persistent and should have been made aware of what room required cleaning.
also felt that at check out some sort of explanation and/or apology should have been expressed.

One night at Jurys Inn Islington

Good staff , decent room , Great Breakfast for £9.95. Only things that let it down are the corridors which I could easily redecorate for very little money and give them a much better appeal , and the slightly seedy area on the edge of up-market Islington , which the hotel can do little about.
I would consider staying again if I could get a reasonable price.

One of the better hotel chains!

Overall this hotel was not too bad. However, Internet should always be included but it wasn't. Breakfast should always be included but wasn't. The room was reasonably clean but there was an overpriced bottle of water offered to buy! (unacceptable!) The food at the bar was overpriced and limited. Staff were generally polite.

Business is better than pleasure

I have stayed at this hotel on numerous occations with work, so was quite happy to book for a personal stay, however what i found is that when you stay on business you get the nice executive rooms and this stay involved a horrible room on the 1st floor with a twin and a single in the room.
I would not stay in this hotel again if i was offered this standard of room.

Jurys Inn Islington London Review

Impressed with the room - very clean. Had a proper single bed for my son rather than an uncomfortable sofa bed. Paid attention to detail like having 3 mugs in the room with the complementary coffee/tea - some times hotels do not take the child into account. Fantastic value for the money and conveniently located a few minutes walk from the Angel tube station and local shops/coffee shops. The hotel had bars and restaurant - although we didn't eat there; the menu looked good and seemed child friendly. The only criticism, was the noisy air conditioning we had in the room.

Angels in islington

I really enjoyed my stay. the staff couldn't have been more helpful and were knowledgeable about transport and any other questions I had. The room was spotless and had obviously been recently refurbished. Notoriously fussy about beds and being very anti soft beds in particular, I was delighted to have a great night's sleep both nights on a very comfortable bed. The hotel was close to all amenities, next door to a great pub and easy reach by tube or bus.

Good 3* accommodation

I stayed with my wife & 16 yr old daughter.
6th stay in a Jury's,2nd this hotel. As usual very courteous ,friendly and helpful staff. Excellent cleanliness of room with very comfortable beds made for a pleasant break.
Although slightly out of city Angel tube is 2mins walk (beware closed on Sat) but a range of buses service 30,73, opposite hotel, service 38 near Angel tube for West End (also service 205 again opposite hotel ideal for Paddington commute).
On a general note (stress no complaint of hotel) expect a slightly different London to the norm because of massive renovations to roads, pavements, tubes in preparation for 2012 Olympics.

Good Customer Service

Following a let down by a hotel we had booked in Finsbury Park we had to quickly book a late rooms hotel and Jurys Inn proved to be an excellent choice.
The staff were excellent. Rosa on reception was not fazed as we arrived before receipt of the confirmation from late rooms and she dealt with the checking in quickly and efficiently. Other members of staff were courteous and efficient.
The hotel was well presented and very clean with comfortable rooms. Very pleased with it.

Stayed two nights at a discounted rate. Room good although no ironing facilities. Decoration of the landings was taking place when I stayed - cant say the decor of these areas was particularly in keeping with the star rating and ambience of a hotel of this star rating.
