There were a couple of unsatisfactory aspects to my stay- otherwise good.Nowhere was I aware that I did not have an integral personal loo. I assumed this to be standard in 3 star accomodation- clearly not so. This loo was shared by about 6 rooms and was a further floor up from my 2nd floor- steep stairs room. Needless to say it was occupied by someone having a shower when I had dressed to go first thing in the morning!I was also very perturbed to be awoken as I dozed off at 11.20pm to pay my bill by 12 midnight as the foreign girl receptionist thought she might be busy in the morning! I politely refused to get up , dress, go down 2 flights of stairs at that hour!! She just hadn't thought it out- perhaps a bit bored? The next morning was no problem at all!!

Perfect location for us. 3 minutes walk from St Pancras Station, therefore easy access by bus and tube. Good size family room - small double bed, 2 single beds and they kindly organised for a cot for our baby. Very nicely decorated, recently done I believe. When we checked in there seemed to be some building work going on somewhere in the hotel. Nice english breakfast. No high chair in the small breakfast room, but for such a short visit it was no bother. Staff friendly and helpful. Would recomend.

My wife and I chose the Jesmond Dene by its Trip Advisor reviews and because of its location close to Kings Cross Station. All we wanted was somewhere of a good standard and easy to get to and from for our three day break. The Jesmond Dene easily met these requirements. The room was spotless and although a little on the small size this wasn't a problem. Its location, literally minutes from Kings Cross underground made it dead easy to get around. We would certainly stay there again for another London break. One thing to note is that not all rooms are en suite as ours was so I can't comment that aspect.

This hotel is ideal for short business stop-over. Small, clean, friendly - very useful location for train and underground.

The room was compact but adequate for a short stay. The staff were very helpfull and friendly. The room was clean with a reasonable cooked breakfast. The flight of stairs to the quad room on the top floor would not be easy with large luggage but suitcases could be left safely downstairs. It was very close to Kings Cross Railway Station and ideal for the underground and sight seeing. I would definately stay there again.

On arrival our room wasnt ready, although i had stated we would be there at 1pm and it was after that time. we were told to come back in about 45 mins to check in but we could leave bags there. as we were only there for thursday afternoon until friday afternoon, we didnt really want to come back in 45 mins to go back out again, so we went out for a few hours and when we came back the room was ready. it was an unusually shaped room, long and thin with three single beds (we knew there were no doubles so this wasnt a problem). Everything was clean and tidy and the shower room, although small, had everything we needed and the shower was mightly powerful and hot (lovely). The only downside to the room is that we were right by the kitchens and dining room so it was noisy from early on, but as we had a lot of sightseeing to get in, this wasnt a problem for us. On the whole i would say the location of the hotel was good, the room was clean and tidy, the staff helpful and the breakfast was excellent.

I booked this via laterooms.com only to be phoned by the hotel at 10:30pm the night before my stay telling me they were overbooked and had no room for me. They arranged me a room in the nearby Carlton Hotel which was the biggest fleapit (literally) I have ever stayed in. Be very careful when choosing your budget hotel in Kings Cross. I have stayed in and like the Macdonald Hotel. I won't be booking at the Jesmond Dene or the Carlton ever again

I paid 95 GBP a night for a very small room at the third floor, with no elevator. The room was ready at 14.00 although the claimed check in time (on their website) is 13.00. Male receptionist not very polite. Breakfast is ok in quantity but basic/poor in quality. Served only until 9.00. Because of the tiny breakfast room, you should expect queues and waiting times, maybe delays after 9.00. Overall not recommendable.
