An excellent place to stay. Charming, efficient and friendly staff. Clean, comfortable and well decorated room, with good bathroom, television and comfortable beds. Simple and small breakfast room - we had to wait five minutes one morning for a table, but the English breakfast was very good - freshly cooked with speedy table service. Brilliant location - close to St Pancras and near to bus stops. Our en suite twin room was on the ground floor and therefore a little noisy with the window open. At 102 a night for two inc. breakfast, it wasn't cheap, but for Central London in August with just one day's notice, it was excellent value. We would definitely stay there again. Only suggestion - would be nice to have some fruit for breakfast. However - highly recommended.

Booked room with sleeping for 4. Beds good, bathroom very small. Everything clean and fresh. Go early for breakfast as dining room also very small, but service good. Front desk friendly and helpful.

This hotel is ideally located for visitors to London who want to spend time seeing the sights, going to shows or eating out. The room was small, but perfectly adequate for a good night's sleep, with a comfortable bed. The staff were friendly and helpful. We found breakfast adequate, if uninspiring; some people might be disappointed with the lack of choice. However, you will be lucky to find better value than this in a comparable location.

This was our first time to stay in the metropolis. The hotel was small by country standards, but this is not unusual I understand for the City centre. We were greated by friendly helpful staff (very much appreciated as we had travelled across the channel in the early hours). We were facilitated to leave off our luggage at reception, hours before booking in (no problem). Our family group consisted of two adults, two teens and our youngest eight year old son. We stayed in rm 14, on ground floor/basement. The room was compact but adequate, neat, clean, with pleasant decor and comfortable beds. We also had a ceiling mounted fan (great as the weather was quite close.) The room had a washing basin, however the shower (aqualisa) room /toilet was situated off the landing. In practice this was not actualy a problem and more importantly there was hot water a.m. and p.m. We initially chose the hotel because a full English breakfast was included in the price(more uncommon than you would think) and this did not disappoint. Being served promptly by mannerly, well presented staff. Secondly the location was so convienient to Kings Cross station, but at the same time was tucked in up a side street away from the the main traffic. I was pleasantly surprized at just how well cocooned the room acually was! In short, I would stay again and have no problem endorsing this accomodation to fellow travellers, especially for a relatively short stay.

Lots of positives here: efficient check-in/out, the room was clean, the bed comfy, free wi-fi, really helpful and pleasant staff, and despite being conveniently located very close to King's Cross, surprisingly quiet. But some of the fixtures, fittings and decor in the room do feel rather dated and a little tired (e.g. TV has only terrestrial channels)...
I guess the bottom line is that it was a pleasant enough experience, but at 105 I thought it expensive for the actual quality of the room (admittedly a triple - that was all I could book so late). I'm afraid I'd not stay there again at that price; for that money and as a single traveller, I think there's better value available elsewhere.
Maybe I'm being mean...?

We were very impressed with this hotel. Had read reviews saying it was close to St Pancras station and were pleased it was as close as the reviews suggested. We were especially impressed with the friendliness of all the staff, they helped us with directions and parking. Breakfast was tasty, filling, prompt but not rushed. It was a pleasure to stay at the Jesmond Dene. We stayed in a family room, this was great for an overnight stay but would have been a little cramped for a longer stay.

Highly recommended, if you don't mind paying! For a small hotel, the Jesmond Dene is expensive, but it leaves cheaper alternatives dead in the water. The service was good, with bags carried upstairs promptly and willingly. The room was quiet and spotlessly clean, with a very comfortable bed and good quality bed linen. There was plenty of natural light, as well as more than adequate room lighting. The shower was very good. A satisfying English breakfast was provided in pleasant surroundings. The waitress willingly offered two eggs as a vegetarian substitute for the bacon and sausage (although for the price, the hotel should perhaps offer a more substantial non-meat alternative). I would certainly stay here again.

call this a double room? moor like a single room with a double bed rammed
into it. it broke all records as the smallest room we have ever stayed in even the tent we used this summer was bigger! bed as hard as a brick, central heating hummed all night and fan did not work properly. breakfast was ok though. would not recommend to my worst enemy!

The Hotel was very good value being so close to St. Pancrass Station. The room was as expected quite small but was very clean and quiet. Breakfast was good. We would recommend this hotel as very good value for an overnight stay before moving on particularly if travelling via St. Pancrass or Kings Cross.

Very clean, neat hotel in central location and very easy for King Cross station. Friendly staff and a busy hotel. Exceptionally quiet given its city centre location. If you're looking for a reasonably priced non-chain hotel in a good location, you could do much worse than Jesmond Dene.

We stayed in different rooms: Twin with shared bathroom at 75,- GBP is very small. Noise insulation isn't perfect. Bathroom is as clean as possible for a shared one but it depends on your luck if it's available in the right moment.
Rooms with ensuite bathroom are much bigger and better (and more expensive).
Everything is fresh and tastefully renovated. Seems to be usual and it is clean, but who really wants carpeted floors in a hotel room?
Location is nice and quiet, staff is very friendly and helpful.

OK its very close to Kings Cross but that was really the only benefit. The room had no toilet facilities and if i wnated to shower i needed to go up a flight of stairs so i left that. there was a sink in the room which came in handy. Cheap if your stuck for cash or you are litereally last minute and need somewhere.

We stayed on the bottom floor so it was a bit noisy when they started cooking in the morning although with the comfortable beds and good heating you could gaurante a good night sleep.
The breakfast was good although the full English was a little limited for vegetarians however there was plenty of toast and cereal.

I stayed in room 11, which has been recently refurbished and is en-suite. It was small but clean, with an en suite shower room -adequate for a business traveller for one night and is convenient for Kings Cross, St Pancras and Euston if you don't mind a short walk. Suggest it would be worth asking laterooms to check if your room is en suite and whether it has been refurbished. No lifts. Staying again and recommend to a friend subject to the type of room.

I was struck by the friendliness of the hotel staff. Having flown in from abroad they were able to let me know when a room became available earlier. The location for the hotel is great if you are travelling out of Kings Cross or St Pancras obviously and they were good about you being able to leave your luggage or Christmas shopping at the hotel while you were out and about. I would stay there again.
