The floors were too creaky, everytime i take a step there would be creaking noise on floor. Plus could hear people next door talking. But was not a big issue. Bathroom size was a bit small.

Summary
No problem with the hotel and its facilities but the room we were allocated was poor. Not really large enough to be a double;the bed occupied 75% of the floor area.Only one side of the bed was accessible. Net curtains were dirty. Loo flushing mechanism faulty and wash basin with no plug.
Summary
I stayed here on 21st and 22nd of Oct. My friend and I came for a concert at the Royal Albert Hall on 21st. Check in was no hassle, reception staff were efficient and very polite and helpful. The lift was out of order due to work being done but one of the male hotel staff carried both of our suitcases all the way to the top floor for us. Our twin room was small but that didn't bother us, it was very clean. We had a lovely view of the picturesque street. We had breakfast on the first morning which was lovely, it wasn't in with the price we paid and cost only £5.90 pp. We only paid £154 for a twin room for the two of us for two nights. I did start to get a bit wary reading some of the reviews but as soon as we got there I realised I had no need to have worried. There was work going on but you could only hear it if you were sitting in your room through the day which I certainly didn't travel to London to do, so we only heard it if we came back to change the odd time. The beds also were very comfy and the bedding was so white it was like brand new. I would definitely stay here again, no hesitation. Only thing I would say is the floorboards are creaky throughout the hotels and rooms and always flag a cab don't get reception to book one as we got stung by about £10,but you live you learn, but overall we both loved this hotel.
Summary
Hotel very disappointing and extremenly overpriced for the appalling quality of the room, can only imagine that some London hostels would be better! However it appears to be undergoing refurbishment which it is absolutely crying out for; water off in the rooms between 10 am and 5pm, you are made aware of this by a note in the room and not personally at the check in desk. The hotel website gives a really good impression with the photographs but I realise these must have been taken about forty years ago ! Could not have faced eating anything in the restaurant and could not wait to get out of the place; all that said - the location was good.
Summary
Room was clean, in the basement, with the world's smallest bathroom! How anyone bigger than average would be able to use the loo I have no idea?!
Summary
Old Hotel needs a refit Rooms very small but on the plus side loved the feather bedding and comfortable bed.
Summary
Hotel staff friendly and courteous. But I cannot rate the room very high .The carpet was very dirty the windows were in a very poor condition .The room was noisy from the kitchen fans below.
Summary
The outside of the Hotel is very impressive as is the reception area. However on making my way to the toilets it became apparent the Hotel was not going to meet its impressive, first impression. The carpets were dirty and thread bear, paint knocked and peeling in the toilets. Generally had a grubby feel to the toilets and accommodation. We felt that are accommodation was in the staff quarters. The room was dark and dingy. The curtain was pulled, on pulling back my fears were met with the view of the fire escape. The shower was tepid and the shower curtain was hanging off. On the plus side the bed was clean, with only a few holes in the bottom sheet. The hotels position is very central and severed the purpose for our trip.

This hotel has seen better days. First room I was offered was absolutely tiny for a double and at the back with noisy air conditioners. I hadn't realised I had claustrophobia until I walked into that room. I asked to change but hotel was full but was offered a room the next day and they said they would move my stuff for me. The staff were absolutely lovely but I got the impression I wasn't the first person who asked to change rooms. Second room was bigger but still pretty shabby. Best thing was the gorgeous egyptian cotton linen and comfy bed and pillows. Slightly hampered by the false fire alarm that went off at 6.25am on the second morning though. I called reception who then called me back to apologise saying it happens a lot. Carpet very threadworn and curtains hanging off but was very clean. TVs in both rooms were old with bad reception. Very creaky floorboards. Excellent service though when I complained and really excellent location near loads of restaurants.
Summary
Only needed room to drop off bag, then rushed off to meet friends. Noticed shower dripping but assumed wouldnt be too bad. Should have informed reception but didnt have time. Unfortunately shower was broken and raining down water into the bath all through night. Got hardly any sleep. How cleaner didnt check and inform reception after preparing room I do not know. In morning towel had stain on it. Curtains didnt close against whole window so room was light at 5am. Should have been perfect for single man to crash for night but at £131 a night, although cheap for London, was scruffy, broken shower, too light and smelt of smoke coming from corridoor. Wouldnt stay here again.
Summary
I have spent half the money and gotten twice the service and accomodations in other parts of London. The only good thing about the experience was the alternative neighborhood it was in. But then you can just choose fromthe other ten hotels in the area.
Summary
The room is not modern for the price they charged. Internet Wi-fi is free and with good performance which is very good for working professionals on travel. The tube station is just around the corner which is very convenient.
Summary
I booked 4 rooms for some work colleagues who travelled from overseas, a very important client. And one young lady got put in room 226 which was stacked from floor to celing with Toilet Paper!!
Unbelieveable - Please pass this on to the Hotel as I would be very keen to see what they are going to do!!
Good location. Room was pretty basic with no air conditioning and a very compact bathroom.
The tv could not be viewed when lying in bed as the tv set was too low (inadequate furniture)
One of the pillow had red marks that looked like blood stains. Free wifi was useful.
Friendly staff.

Summary
I booked in as there were no rooms left under £400 in central London on the night I wanted to stay, the hotel is well located 5 mins walk from queensway tube and 5 minutes from the bars and eateries of Notting Hill.
The hotel is very basic and could do with a face lift and was full of back packer types but if you want a room on a budget it is just the ticket
The hotel soaks people by internet - they offered a room for 80 GBP instead of 200 GBP, but the room never fulfiled the requirement it! Our 4 m² dark room on the basement in rear house allowed us 40 cm to go around 2 sides of the bed. 2 lines of London Underground are running under the room. Every 5 min a train ran to "Queensway" or "Bayswater" and rattled the whole room - and let the cover of our WC clacking..
The staff was very firendly and helpful - the total contrary quality of the room! The manager printed us a detailled directions from the internet to find our way.
Very noisy & carpets & furnishings very old and tired. Carpets threadbare & smelly.
Summary
Minutes away from west end with motorway rates
Summary
At the time the cheapest room other than this was £170+......I paid £95 so wasn't expecting it to be the best. I arrived late, and to simply have a shower and a quiet nights sleep , it turned out to be good value for money. Staff very nice!
Summary
Room 59 was awful. Back of Hotel on a noisy alley, with open window and no bars, grubby (sticky) carpet, tired bed, and then the noise and vibration as the room seemed to be located directly above a Tube line. The Trains ran about every 10min. until after 0100, and then began again at 0510. I awoke with the idea that I was in an earthquake, then realising my mistake and my misfortune.
This accomodation is not fit for purpose yet it cost £131.00.
Laterooms.com should aggregate reviews on this Hotel to confirm that mine is not a one off.
Hotel was easy to find, within a short distance from tube station. Relatively quiet location, but the high street with all its restaurants was just around the corner. At the price the hotel in London represented good value for money - but decor was quite tired and the carpets need changing. Breakfast was extra in our case, but for the nominal sum there was a really good choice.
Summary
I really enjoyed my brief stay, the hotel has a nice vibe, and very friendly staff who obviously enjoyed working together. And as an added bonus, to be staying in the hotel where Jimi Hendrix stayed when he firdst moved to London.
Summary
I considered this to be an overpriced hotel, taking advantage of its location and previous history. I have to say though that the staff at reception were very friendly and helpful. The room I stayed in and general decor need a complete overhaul. The room notes said that there had been improvements made, not in my room or any of the floors I visited. The carpets are threadbare, the walls were dirty in places with wall paper peeling off. The sill on the sash window frame in my room was thick with dirt. After a hard day at work I felt even worse returning. Unfortunately I had little choice as I had booked late. The bed was clean and comfortable and the shower hot. I wouldn't have expected to pay any more than £40 a night for this hotel anywhere else. I didn't eat here.
Summary
The staff were generally helpful with the exception of one girl at reception who left me standing at the counter unattended while she did nothing. When she realised I was there, she laughed to her colleague, took care of checking me in but offered no apology. That was a bit off colour and I have to say, considering the prices charged and the quality of the room I got, I was P155ed off.
Rather than make a big deal out of it, I shrugged and got on with things. Staff apart from that one incident, were generally helpful. I would stay there again because of its location and proximity to the underground, but wouldn't pretend there was any love lost with the staff, or rather, one arrogant and aloof staff member. It was a good thing the other girl was more professional.
We were going to the Albert hall and the hotel was the ideal palce to stay, breakfast was extreamly enjoyable, we did not eat in the evening though
Summary
Well, we ended up at the Hyde Park Towers Hotel after our reservation at another hotel was cancelled without notification. We were quite happy to find anything nearby on such short notice and the price was not bad for the area. We found the hotel to be decent but a bit noisy. We were in the below ground floor so had no view, despite the 'Tower' in the property name. Again, not too big a deal. The room and bathroom were a bit ragged at the edges but comfortable. The bed and pillows were fantastic, however, which really is the most important feature. All in all, for the price, it is not a bad place to spend a couple of nights while visiting the sights of London.
Summary
One of the worst hotel rooms I've rented in London. A tiny and rather grubby room in the basement. The bathroom was a joke it was so small. Very poor value.
Summary
This hotel is decent enough for the price, although don't expect it to be modern nor filled with new fittings.
My partner and myself both commented how this hotel was probably once very luxurious and fancy but has sadly become very worn around the ages and needs some renovation. The carpets are quite worn and the bathroom in our room was certainly in need of a refit. On the plus side, the room was clean and the bed comfortable. The room size was also good and the hotel location is very good, being close to two tube stations for either the circle/district line or central line. Also in the area are some excellent resturants and there are plenty of shops if you need anything in a hurry.
Overal, I would recommend this hotel if you don't mind seeing some wear and tear on the fittings in your room and you're only likely to use the room as somewhere to rest overnight. If, however, you like to have a hotel that makes you feel pampered or you plan to use the room as somewhere to work whilst in London, I would suggest you look elsewhere first.
NB I've indicated below that I wouldn't stay here again but this doesn't completly represent my views. I would stay here again, if necessary, but I would certainly look elsewhere first.
To be fair, I went for a cheaper option and not sure what state the rooms on other floors are.
The room I had was in basement, stinky and noisy. Ok for a night, but make sure you have ear plugs with you.
The room needed a refit....corridor, carpets, head-board to bed, fittings. my room and the corridor to it felt very tired and the stay was a little depressing because of that. ... staff friendly, however.
Summary
Youngsters outside the hotel talking, laughing and being generaly noisy. This went on untill 3.30 am.
Then what sounded like the dustman came round. This was then followed by lorries and vans making deliveries.
Relatively basic. But very good value, clean and 'did the job'. Very helpful staff.
Summary
Finishings in room old and shabby but sort of works.
Summary
I've stayed here a few times, it's in a nice part of London and Jimi Hendrix stayed there when he first moved to London.
Everything about the hotel is great execpt that the rooms are incredibly small but perfect if you're not planning on spending any time in them.
Also all the female staff I encountered were very pretty.
Positively the worst night's sleep ever, anywhere. The room, approx. 6' by 8' was on the ground floor and not only could one hear every passing tube train, but the room was shaken by it. So no sleep until the trains stopped after midnight, nor after they restarted at about 6. This said, after I complaioned, the hotel has offered another visit (at the same price) but on a higher floor and with breakfast thrown in!
Summary
Clean, spacious. Room in basement.
Summary
A very thin matress on a hard wooden bed, not the most confortable nights sleep. Sheets & towels very clean, but the rest looked a bit dingy.
Summary
Perfect location very good price, nice part of city, staff very helpful an welcoming. brekfast was very nice an loads to eat.
