Stayed at House 30 unit 10. We booked a superior double, anticipating some space to place a sofa bed for two young children (below 10 yrs old). When we arrived, the receptionist refused to check us in as she insisted that the apartment was meant for only two. She also refused to cancel our booking citing that laterooms.com has already taken commission and it was our fault to have booked it. After some negotiation, the only available option was to upgrade to a bigger unit at full rate (i.e. no discount), we paid 130 pounds per night instead of 91 pounds per night. Thinking that the apartment would be big enough, it was quite a surprise when we arrived. It was a small double story, bed room at the upper level (no window thus ventilation was challenging) and an integrated kitchen and sofa area at the lower level. There was only one window near the staircase. It was not possible to open a suitcase and the sofa bed at the same time at the lower level. So every night, we played "traffic jam" with the sofa bed and the suitcase.
The location was good, served by two tube stations within walking distance and food aplenty.
Considering the cost of tube travel for a family of four (children travel free) using the Oyster Card and the time taken, I reckon we would have done better staying at the Holiday Inn. Perhaps we were pampered by Holiday Inn and Best Western while travelling around the UK, and like some said, this is London.
