For the price one doesn't expect much but it could have been better

This is a budget tourist hotel which was close to work.
The room was on the top floor and was clean and functional although the shower head did not not in the holder and could therefore only be used as a hand shower. Pretty annoying really when you consider how easy it is to fix minor things like this.
The receptionist was not exactly welcoming but not unfriendly either. Disinterested I suppose. Half-way through checking in, the receptionist took a phone call and I had to stand and wait for about 10 minutes until he had finished the call.
I didn't have breakfast on the day of departure so cannot comment on the quality of the offering.
All-in-all this was okay but for a little effort on the part of the hotel/hotel staff, it could have been a far better experience.

Disappointed with the room size & Breakfast

For a central London hotel the Hutton Hotel was reasonably priced at £55 per night. I was diappointed with the crtamped size of the room and the compact shower room which was a self-contained box added to room in last 10 years to give the room ensuite status. I was very disappointed with the quality of the breakfast. Over diluted orange juice and supermarket bargain wholemeal and white slice bread for toast. Poor selection for continental breakfast only saved by the fresh ground coffee.
I will be looking for an alternative hotel for next time I need to stay in London.

Room was ok considering the price, but given that our room was just behind the breakfast room, it was really noisy in the morning ... appart from that I can't imagine getting much more for £55 in central London ;)

I stayed in winter and the heating was not on. I asked a receptionist to turn the heating on, and he said that it turns on every 4 hours, but it didnt i was freezing the whole night. |Everything else was ok, for this money, but if i am completely honest everything else didnt not matter as much as heating to me anyway...

Clean, basic accomodation, good value

Good value for money, very basic accommodation. Room on front noisy so changed to a back room, smaller but very quiet, with no fuss. Room was very basic, but clean and serviceable, correctly priced at £45 per night. However, it was cold although a small warm heater was provided. Would stay again if looking for a budget, clean hotel. Did not have breakfast. Location excellent.

A One-Night Stay

The room was adequate for our purpose. The furniture was a little bit sad and the bathroom was similar to what you would get on a ferry ie a module - but it was clean. The breakfast area had a nice atmosphere and we were well looked after.

Overnight at Huttons Hotel

We arrived before 12 noon and left our case in left luggage. Our room was small and in the basement. The shower cubicle was literally a curtain off the bedroom; the wc was separate. The CH came on at about 8 pm and was very warm and we couldn't turn it down. The tv was excellent, bed comfortable, a bit noisy in the early hours, and breakfast was basically tinned fruit salad, fruit juice, cereal, toast with cheese slices/jam and tea/coffee of "economy" quality but you could eat as much as you wanted. The hotel was located between either Victoria or Pimlico tube stations and we walked to Harrods from the hotel the next morning. So for £50 for the double room with Cont Breakfast we had a fairly convenient position and a reasonable night's sleep in a pretty comfortable bed. The bottom line is "you get what you pay for" and we felt we had a stay commensurate with the cost
