Amazing hotel if you want absolute luxury. The staff were always helpful and the room was incredible. The only possible disadvantage was its location, not within easy walking distance of the underground, having said that the hotel does provide a half hourly driver service to Clapham Junction and Sloane Square.

Booked at very short notice through Laterooms but it was great value for money being a special deal - room was fabulous for the price, clean, spacious, awesome bed, great service even allowed us a late check out. A bit out of the way in Clapham but they have a shuttle service, which wasn't working at the time but they still arranged a free car drop off at teh station for us in the morning

We found the hotel very good value for money - the accomodation was beautiful & clean & the staff were extremely helpful & very welcoming. We had a couple of issues, despite 3 or 4 requests no-one came back to me with a request for a possible room change (I wanted to consider a room with a bath as opposed to just a shower) & our room had a faulty lock. When I pointed these out we were offered a reduction on our bill & thanked warmly for pointing these out so they could address them. Would recommend & certainly re-visit

Customer service was poor - taxi booked for my business evening out - booked for wrong room. The eco feel meant that the electrics were so confusing that they kept cutting out and trying to get them going again whilst in the shower meant that I could well have been electrocuted. Over all a very a unpleasant experience. I have stayed in better at half the price.

Stayed in a superior room. Rooms were well equipped and decent size. Technology extras like ipod docking station in room were brilliant. Very clean and tidy and bathroom was good size with large double shower with three different types of jets. River view was partially blocked by part of the cigar lounge so make sure if you get a river view room you are on third floor or above for the full panoramic view. Staff were very helpful and the courtesy shuttle service by way of private taxi to Clapham Junction made Central London easily accessible. Used the shuttle twice and did not have long to wait each time. I didn't eat at the hotel as London is on the doorstep but I would recommend this hotel on the accommodation alone. Excellent.

Certainly ticks all the boxes for a 5 star hotel in a great location. I thought that the bar & restaurant prices were quite expensive but there was a special offer on for food. Having said that the restaurant views were over the Thames which made it feel expensive.A short walk from the hotel are a couple of restaurants - I went to the Italian where the food and service were good.

This is a lovely hotel, great location, good food (only had breakfast) but let down by the rude person on reception. I reserved the room with one credit card and paid with another but they insisted that they kept the details for both and stapled the card details along with my name and address together (great in this world of credit card fraud). I asked for the details back and was greeted with a barrage of words from the guy behind reception saying he knew best because he was just out of business school....he was very rude and abrupt with no customer skills at all. Having said that the porter was very helpful. A couple of minor points about the room, no prices for mini bar, rang reception but no answer and the shower didnt work fully, apart from that no faults. They did have a very loud disco playing until 2am that would have caused a problem if we hadn't have been out ourselves.

This is a cheap brand new luxury hotel, whilst they continue to finish off various projects, like the Spa. Minor gripes are: i) Cold shower on the second morning - not funny when you have just used the gym... ii) No milk cartons for tea/coffee, iii) Air con made a continual whizzing sound, iv) Full English breakfast not up to scratch...Apart from that, service was friendly; would certainly not pay more than £90 per night here.

The hotel was very clean, and well furnished. The hotel advertises pool, sauna etc but they are still not yet commissioned so not available. Whether that is the reason for the reduced prices I don't know, but I think it should state quite clearly that these facilities are not open. The position next to the river is nice, but ideally hotel is too far away from the action. If you are a tube user when in London you may be disappointed as it is quite a trek even with the courtesy cars. Much better is the No.7 bus from outside the hotel to Victoria.

The rooms are fab, bit tricky to find, we lost our key which powers the room and the night porter could not cut us one so we had to spend our time in the dark once we came back . At 10.00am housekeeping walked into the room as they knocked then, again at 10.30am they knocked, had to wait a good time for a new key in the morning. But the rooms are modern , well fitted beds very comfy, no do not disturb signs which would have helped no end, a real bargain though for such a nice room, really lovely rooms they were ok with alate check out too.

I think the staff need some training and being locked in the parking garage for 20 minutes wasn't that great but Teething problems I would say! The pool & hot tub were closed to us but looked quite nice. Great hotel and I will certainly be using it again, I dig the eco / modern business model they are running with, it's impressive & the way forward!Stay at this hotel you won't regret it and you may just find it thought provoking, which is a very interesting concept!Chris

Huge room and bathroom and everything was immaculate. I had free internet access in my room which is hard to find in London hotels. Not too sure what made the hotel 'eco' though. The only issue with the hotel is its location. Not knowing London too well I didn't realise just how far out of the centre of London this hotel was. It's not easy to get to by tube and once you're off the tube it's quite a walk to get to the hotel. They have a chauffeur service in the morning to take you back to the tube station but ideally they would also have a pick-up service too.

My/our only criticisms would be small ones; the hotel is a small distance from central London and though offers a shuttle to Sloan/Clapham Junction, there is no return service, which would be useful as there is no tube station here. The centre is not walkable from the hotel though the river walks adjacent to the hotel are lovely. There is however, a bus stop right outside the hotel which takes you to Victoria in about 15 mins for £2. What you lose out on in not being more central, you gain by being in a beautiful and peaceful hotel, with quality fittings and service - the staff are charming, polite and helpful. The maid service was excellent, though she was too tidy - is that possible? Well, she tidied everything away - everything - each day, so that we had to get it all out again, at the end of each day! It was amusing, rather than annoying. My wife says a few more toiletries, like cotton buds, tissues, a shower cap, would be nice and maybe some flannels and a bar of soap - not everyone likes shower gel. Thats it. I would go again/I would recommend it but I do think a return shuttle service to the centre of town is essential and would encourage more return trade.

Chose this hotel even though it was further out of London than desired. Hotel was lovely and staff could not do enough to help out. Every one was extremely polite and friendly and took the time to speak to us. The shuttle service to Clapham station was useful and helped keep the cost of taxis to a minimum. Would have no hesitation to recommend this hotel to couples looking for a nice relaxing break. SPA was also very nice.

The Hotel Rafayel had only been open a few months when we stayed, and it is clear that it is still ironing out some issues. However in terms of value for money it was really excellent. We stayed in a Suite that was about the size of an average 2 bedroom flat. The decor is crisp and modern. The bed was huge, with really nice sheets. The bathroom was amazing, with a large bath jacuzzi, double sinks and a shower that had 4 extra jets. The rack rate for the room was £900, but we paid £220 a night, which made it a real bargain. The hotel is located in Battersea on the river. It is a bit off the beaten track, and the nearest tube is about a mile away, but the hotel offers a complimentary shuttle to Clapham which was handy. The library doesn't yet have any books in it, the spa isn't quite finished and a couple of the features in our room weren't working yet (the bathroom tv and ipod station), but I would still recommend staying at this hotel while the rooms are cheaper, especially if you need to be towards the West End of town. It isn't that far from the Kings Road and Harrods. We only ate breakfast in the hotel one day as it isn't included in the price (and not cheap at £15 plus delivery charge), but it was a nice treat, and along with our cooked breakfast we got a variety of pastries, that really made lunch uneccessary. The hotel is on the bottom 3 floors of a large tower block, the upper floors being private apartments. So don't expect a high view. Not many of the rooms have a river view either even though the hotel is right next to the river, because of the design of the building. We were a little dissapointed that our view was over the drive and an industrial building, with just a glimpse of the river if you looked to the right - however, the room was so nice we just shut the curtains and enjoyed the other facilities. The hotel reception is due to have a florist (currently empty) and a cute little cupcake shop (cupcakes are only available at certain times currently). The hotel is trying to be ecological, but we didn't see a lot that seemed much different from an average hotel. They do put a note about only washing towels on the floor, but that is pretty standard these days, also the shower gel is organic and attached to the wall (so it doesn't have to be replaced) but that seemed to be about it. If you are looking for somewhere to have a nice quiet weekend of luxury away from the kids, and don't mind a bit of a trek into town and a few hiccups with the service then this hotel is a real bargain. When it has found its feet it will be awesome, but then you might actually have to pay the rack rate, and I'm not sure our suite was worth £900 a night.

This hotel is amazing albeit in a slightly out of way locale - 15 min walk to Clapham Junction.I got the room for a brilliant price and they upgraded my room so I am grateful for this. It was sheer luxury - massive room, lovely bed, big tv, chair, desk/chair, big wardrobe with separate area with teas/coffees etc and really big and swanky shower room. However, there were teething problems - a shower whose controls were complex and hard to turn. A courtesy car service to the nearest tube/train service never materialised in the morning (this risked me being late for my meetings). Most of all, the room i was in had a faulty air con system which meant on the second night it hit 28 degrees and I was flushed in the face and could not sleep. When i phoned, they reception stated they would change the air con in my room 'centrally' but it did not work - i eventually had to request - at 2.30am! - to move my room as i simply could not sleep. They did so - across the landing and it worked better (it was cooler). I would stay here again - there are so many plusses e.g. lovely gym and feeling of luxury but not until they have sorted out their soft launch issues. I also think they should keep the spa treatment centre open until 8 or 9pm so guests who are working during the day can sample it because it looked like a good place to visit.

The second morning was a little random in that it wasn't very welcoming; breakfast cereal was Frosties and Chocolate Rice crispies with various pastries that had seen better days. It was as though some management chap was around and everyone was paying more attention to him forgetting about the paying customer.Other than the second breakfast experience I would recommend a stay for business or pleasure, I will certainly be staying again.

Staff are wonderful extremely eager to help whichever way they can. On site parking in the underground car park is another bonus.. The restuarant is fantastic a beautiful champange bar greats you as you walk in and the best cocktail maker in the whole of london will serve you drinks.. The food is wonderful and all at great prices. Will we be back? you bet !! if you are as lucky as us you may even get to meet the fantastic Mr. Latif the hotels owner..

I booked a one night stay at the Hotel Rafayel as a surprise birthday treat for my husband. On arrival at the hotel, we were warmly greeted by the hotel reception staff and checking in was both easy and efficient. We were shown to our room and advised on how to operate the key card etc. The room was clean, comfortable and very nicely furnished. However, I felt a quite disappointed when I approached the windows (not floor to ceiling) and realised we overlooked the service area, which housed five large orange commercial wheelie bins. I immediately closed the blinds and was then more than happy to stay in the room allocated. I guess my point is, that the staff could have closed the blinds before we arrived making our first impression quite different. Apart from the outlook, I couldnt have been happier with the hotel, the staff and the fact that the shuttle bus was available immediately to take us to Clapham Junction.

Coming up to the hotel wasn't the most pleasent of sights but the hotel was easy to find. On entering, the staff were polite and smiled. The service was unfortunatly not that of a 5 star hotel. The view from the room was spectcular. I had the room for £230. On booking I requested a room for £120, under the impression I had been given the room, a day before I was due to arrive I recieved a call stating that there were no rooms available for that price. Left with no other choice I had to pay for two upgrades to my origional room! Paying almost double. The bed was right by the window, light streamed in on to the bed accompanied by a partial view of the Thames (request this room as many do not have this feature). the room itself was quite big, well designed and the double shower was very convenient. The floors were also partially marble. The mini bar was very expensive. For a small bar of green & blacks chocolate was £4.50! The small pot of pringles were £3.50! Tea's Complimentary to the room were very nice! The air conditioning and airflow were all easy to use with a touch screen key pad. Soap and conditioner were provided. The location was awkward, a shuttle was provided, being a mercedes, Ali my driver was very talkative and friendly. However, we had to make our own way to the hotel each time via taxi. The hotel helped order a taxi but it took too long and had to take a black cab. Overall, the room was worth the money, the service was a HUGE let down. I expected so much more from a five star hotel. I'd say it was a lower grade 4 star hotel. Not only that but the pool and spa was not open. We were not made aware of this before booking, so you could imagine a quick dash to Oxford circus to buy a bathing suit, being very stressful and busy to be disappointed that it was all for nothing!

We were shown to the room by that clerk who obviously did not know the layout. The electronic key did not work the room door, so we then had to wait 15 minutes while they found a different room. That one was freezing (and they had not finished servicing it). Despite putting the heating/aircon up to 26C (and fan on max), the room was still freezing when we left. Was very pleasantly surprised with the Rafayel, I am a very frequent traveler so stay in a variety of accomodation, & i would definitely recommend this hotel. Although the 'scenery' of Battersea isn't great, once you're in the hotel, you could easily be anywhere in the world. The decor is modern but not harsh, the mainly European staff (who speak perfect English) are extremely friendly & helpful, but not overbearing, it is extremely clean & comfortable hotel, & the rooms have a deluxe feel, with all Mod cons. All of the wonderful smelling toiletries provided were organic (very important to me) & the mini bar had a good selection. The complementary tea/coffee & the slippers & robes just added that little extra also. The only thing i would say is that not every tiny detail has been thought of, which i would put down to it being a new hotel, not lack of thought. We had to phone down reception for milk & a bottle opener as there were neither in the room, & the hotel info, which is all on the tv menu, not in a booklet, had neccessary info missing. Checkout times were not listed in the menu, nor was the reception/room service number, although there is a button next to the front door with a picture of a maid on there, so maybe that was it? But apart from a few calls down to reception for minor things, our stay could not have been more perfect! We didn't have time to use the spa (much to my despair, but on our next visit, i will definitely be paying them a visit) And as for the valet parking that only cost £8 for 24hrs (and its out of the congestion zone), what more could you ask for?? :o) (We paid £120 for the room for 1 night, which i was more than happy to pay, but this seems to be an introductory offer, i don't know if i would be quite so happy to pay the regular £250, i would have to compare with other hotels in that price bracket.)

The location was perfect, easy to get to, although not good for walking - you'd need a taxi to get there and back. The hotel is lovely, clean with good quality furnishings, however, there is a major design oversight in the standard/Missisipi bedrooms - no hair dryers (essential for ladies) and no mirror near a plug point - essential for hair and make up. The bedroom itself however is divine, good quality, the bathroom especially, deserves a mention, a walk in shower with the most luscious shower! Try it - I could've spent the day in there! The staff were attentative, helpful and for a NYE it was nice to make a request for an iron/ironboard and have it arrive in 10mins! Customer service was excellent. I would definitely stay again, if the prices were still at the discounted rate.
