Carpets in room not very well vacuumed, or dusted in places, had to pay a returnable £10 deposit for TV remote control but not old about this at check in, so went all the way to room to have to go back to reception to ask for a remote, to be told needed to pay a deposit, back to my room again to get cash and back to reception again. No teaspoons in room although there are cups/teabags etc. Bed was quite comfortable, reception staff helpful and polite. I paid late room price so happy with what I got for the money but would have been disappointed if I had paid full price.

General review of the Hotel Lily

This is a bit of a cheap London back-packers hotel, it is a dump.
They have a car park but the spaces are small (to maximise the cars) and they charge a lot of money to park, my car was damaged by the car next to mine hitting my car with the door

Worst Place Ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Where do i start, the bathroom had less than 1/4 of a roll of toilet paper and no spare roll, our room really small like i mean stupidly small, the bed covers were like cardboard really uncomfortable worst nights sleep me and my girlfriend have ever encountered, the room hadn't been checked from the last occupant which they had taped up the smoke alarm, got woken up at 8am with the fire alarm going off cause someone had been smoking on the floor near our room and the receptionist accuse me and my girlfriend of smoking in the room cause that is were the smoke alarm was set off apparently considering we were fast asleep and we are both non smokers but apparently we were smoking, the included breakfast served in the morning was horrible there was only just enough food on the plate for a small child the scrambled egg was disgusting really watery, the toast that we were served was stone cold butter wouldn't even spread or melt that's how cold it was, we had to wait 10mins before being served, then when checking out was accused of smoking in room again when i had already discussed both me and my girlfriend are non smokers. this hotel really spoilt the experience of me and my girlfriend's first trip to london together to see the fire works on new year.

Hmmm...

Interesting hotel...
The hotel Looks good outside, inside not so much. 2 Stars is correct.
Owners were foreign so it made conversation a little bit difficult however, they were professional and helpful.
The room I had had, the basics, all you need an nothing fancy. Simple. :)
Overall acceptable. Good for quick trips for business. Cheap considering its London!

Better than the reviews would lead you to think...

I found this place perfectly adequate. After reading all the negative reviews I looked carefully at the cleaning standard, and could not find fault. The room was clean , The bed linen looked new and everything was tidy. Yes, it was small and in places a bit shabby, and in places brand new(bathroom sink and tiling were obviously recently done and very nice.) But the reception staff were gracious and the breakfast was good and served quickly. I would stay again. One thing that let them down. We were allowed to leave our bags in a luggage room on the day they we arrived, but on the day we left, they wanted to charge £5 per bag to hold them. I have not experienced this in other hotels, and indeed we took them to the hotel IBIS a few doors away where we were attending a conference. They were happy to store them for free.

Hotel Lily

The hotel is well located for the tube and Earls Court venue the purpose of our visit. It was basic but still to a good standard for those on a leisure break. We were greeted by staff who were friendly and knew the names of our group. The hotel room was clean and the full English breakfasts were freshly prepared and are excellent value for money. Other reviews indicate that the hotel is noisey on the front but this was not a problem as the double glazing eliminates most street noise. There is ample parking at the hotel for those travelling by car. I would use it again when sight seeing in central London.

Suited me fine

Room was a bit small for one person it was fine.
On first morning shower wasn't warm enough, but on the second morning it was.
Overall if you just want a relatively cheap place to stay near Earls Court, this is great.
They stored my luggage free on the first day as I arrived before the room was ready. On the last day, they wanted to charge to store my luggage, so I took it with me.

Budget hotel with rough edges!

Booked into Hotel Lily last Monday, first impressions were good, looking at the reception but the building itself needs an upgrade. They could really make this place great with a refurbishment of all rooms. The furniture is cheap MFI standard formica which is badly worn or even broken. The room I had was small where the double bed was pushed up against the wall with an iron grill up the window. Not sure if it was to keep us from getting out! The tv was an old fashioned one with no remote. The curtains had stains on them. Bed was comfortable and clean. So it is ideal if you do not want to spend a lot of time in your room. I must say the workmanship of all I could see was appalling, I could have done better! Breakfast was adequate and staff very pleasant. Overall it was ok, but I was a little disappointed with the size of my double room, my two sons had a better room overlooking the road. We laughed when we saw where we had to sleep and won't be returning. I had left booking the break until the last minute and just went for this because of the price and it being the half term. On checking out, I noticed a lot of bath towels on the floor by where I was standing, they had water coming through the fire alarms above! My son told me to move aside but I didn't until got dripped on, the receptionist did not seem fazed that this had happened, no apology. I made a hasty exit never to return.

Whatever you do, don't stay here.

Hotel Nightmare more like it. I stayed three nights and even though check out was 11 and I had heavy luggage and Eurostar at 3pm I left at 8am on my last day to escape the horror. When I arrived I saw there was no plug in the bath, no light in the bathroom and half the lights in the bedroom were broken. The bedding is extremely uncomfortable, dirty and disgusting. The next day nobody had done housekeeping so I went to the front desk to tell them this and also ask them to check the light in the bathroom and give me a plug for the bath, they told me nobody could clean the room so I asked for at least some clean towels and more loo paper, which they shoved at me rudely and made me carry upstairs myself. Later someone came to look at the bathroom light (still no plug) and said they couldn't fix it and would try to get someone tomorrow, when I said this was a bit difficult to go the the toilet in the dark, the woman began shouting at me and saying I should have complained the moment I arrived. What the hell? Insanity. The next day nobody fixed the light and STILL no housekeeping. Utterly disgusting. This place is ugly and poorly located but it's the absolutely revolting attitude of the staff and management and the downright DIRTY environment (I had to dispose of my own rubbish the whole time I stayed there) which makes this place an ABSOLUTE NO-GO. I'm not being funny, I actually started feeling depressed while there. The whole rest of my six week holiday has been brilliant. PLEASE DO NOT GO TO THIS HOTEL!!!!!

By far the worst hotel i have ever stayed in

Disgusting room, dirty linen. Broken tv, Bathroom door would not shut properly and when it did it locked you in. Door lining rotting and hanging off. Ripped wallpaper, sticky carpet, room stank of smoke. Shower tap broken so very difficult to get hot water going. vertually no hot water pressure in sink tap. Basically whatever you do, do not stay in this hole under any circumstances. Pubic hair stuck to the walls and in the sink.

I wouldnt want to stay here for too long. The rooms are very small and in need of a facelift. Only stay here if the price is right : cheap.
The other guests (that I saw) were a bit "ruff"...
When you walk out from the hotel, looking for food, you are advised not to walk too far, keep moving and dont stare at people : yep its like that.
Very close to Earls Court though!

Bad room

It is possible that I was just unlucky, The whole hotel was extremely tired and shabby, although spotlessly clean.
unfortunately when I entered my bathroom, there was a lot of water on the floor and the majority of the bathroom ceiling had collapsed in my bath. when I reported this to reception, I was told there was no other room available, which I accept that they were full, but no one offered to come and clean up the mess which could have been sewage from the pipes in the ceiling.

Is a budget hotel and doesn't claim to be anything else close to Earls Court and very close to West Brompton Station. Breakfast included cooked hot breakfast ,bacon, egg, sausage ,beans ,fruit juice ,toast,tea/coffee .staff pleasant and seemed to work very hard. , room small ,but nice and warm ,had to turn heating off sometimes and able to open window, bathroom small , bath quite high to step into,1 plug didn't fit bath or sink, had to be careful with sink not to drop toothbrush etc as it would disappear down gaping hole,When using shower I tried very hard but very difficult to avoid scalding hot or icy cold.water. Ist room not ready so moved to another room on 4th floor ,neither lift working , so struggled a bit on stairs with my arthritic hip .major renovations taking place, so hopefully will improve .a basic hotel but adequate mostly for price with hot cooked breakfast included.
