had to move rooms as had no bedding. then had no tv and pillows. went to have a bath in the morning and the water ran brown so decided against it. according to their web site it had had a re fit, not my room anyway, certainly didn't look like the images i saw on the web site.

Bedroom was good, welcome tray with china cups. Comfortable bed, good hanging and drawer space. TV reception poor, no remote available. Bathroom good except for one large tile missing from side of bath and three badly cracked tiles at the end of the bath.
Breakfast decidely limited. Orange juice brought to table (no choice and no-one asked if I wanted it), then offer of usual selection for cooked breakfast, toast, tea/coffee. Nothing uncooked other than toast, so no cereals, no fresh fruit etc. Staff pleasant without being particualrly forthcoming. Lifts OK, decor on stairs distinctly tired and worn in places. Suited my purpose for one night. Nothing was bad though I was disappointed with the breakfast.

I've put N/A for the food despite the fact we had paid for a breakfast, we were concerned that if ate at the Lilly Hotel, we would immediately have to go to A&E to get our stomach's pumped. Firstly, customer service....well quite frankly if you call a shrill women being rude to customers on both the phone and face-to-face then if I could have given minus marks I would have. Even though on the website (Late Rooms) gave the option to state when one would be arriving, this is pointless as rooms are not available until 2pm (it wouldn't take much to state that on the web site). The room was a reasonable size due to cost...however the carpet was damp and 'lumpy' (who knows who is buried underneath) and the towels had an awful stench emanating from them which, once used, transferred onto your skin...personally, for an extra 20 to 30 pounds its worth going to any number of budget hotels in close proximity. Avoid!

This was the second time I had stayed at this hotel. It is basic but comfortable and on both occasions I personally found it spotlessly clean (almost always the one thing that is important to people). The bathroom was sparkling, the towels soft and snowy white and the bed linen crisp, white and spotless. Take your own shower gel tho' - only tiny bars of soap provided. There was a small kettle, with tea and coffee , and a spoon! On my first visit tea bags and spoon were missing - perhaps they acted on my comments! There was a television, but reception was awful. At least you could listen! The quilt (it couldn't be called a duvet, it was so thin) was fine in the warm weather, but you certainly need the blankets they provide for cooler temperatures! Breakfast was more than adequate.: orange juice, cereal (comes in a bag), a cooked breakfast if you want it (scrambled egg on toast was plentiful and well cooked - they do the full works as well, which looked good), and tea/coffee, and toast. The only slight problem I had was that it was noisy in the front bedroom I had on the second occasion I stayed, as it was facing a busy road, but that had died down by about 11 pm. For the money, I would say excellent value!

This hotel has been refurbished, but a number of small things let it down.
The bathroom was clean and well tiled, but the taps were too close to the tiles to operate easily, and there was a dirty 'gap' next to the door frame. The shower curtian was rtoo short, and no bath mat was provided.
TV reception was poor, and the net curtain looked like it had been there for years.
Although the room was cramped, the decor was good, the bed was comfrotable, and there was adequate storage space.

The good things are location, easy access to the tube and very convenient, the beds were comfortabe and the sheets clean, the bathroom clean and newly tiled and fitted out, the huge english breakfast and the no frills, but efficient service. The downside, 4 single beds in what should have been a double room!, the corridoors, lifts and the paintwork generally around the hotel were grubby and deperately in need of paint. My tip to the hotel - employ someone with a bucket of hot soapy water!

I chose the Hotel Lily for the following reasons. Reasonably priced, close to the Picadelly line to Heathrow Airport and decent reveiws from previous guests. Don't expect a 5 star hotel as you get what you pay for. It was clean and convenient with a few inexpensive restaurants nearby. The first lady at he desk was less than friendly when we checked in and made us wait in the middle of checking us in for a business man who arrived after we did. The evening clerk was very helpful and polite. In all a good, reasonable and convenient place to stay.

The hotel was certainly inexpensive but sometimes you have to learn the hard way that it can be worth spending a little more if you want or need a good night's sleep. We had a family room with four beds. They all touched each other - were layed directly next to each other with one bed having been set up such that you had someone's feet in your face. The pillows were really flat but the sheets were clean with a comforting, slight odor of bleach. The shower was ok and the bathroom clean. The room and bed cover were very, very tired. Our room was on the front of the hotel which is directly on a main road - very noisy. This didn't lead to a good night's sleep as it was warm enough to have to keep the windows open through the night. Bring your own toiletries as you only get a small bar of soap and a thin towel. No face cloth or hand towel is provided. Staff was quite nice. Breakfast was more than sufficient for the price you've paid. Not sure I'd stay there again.

I had booked this hotel mostly on price and situation - then I read some not so good reviews which almost put me off. In fact I stayed two nights - its not brilliant on decor, but its clean and comfortable, with ample breakfast delivered fast and freshly cooked to order. Its almost opposite Earls Court exhibition centre, and a few hundred yards from West Brompton Underground. After checkout I was able to leave my luggage in the foyer until later - no problem. Unless I have a big Lottery win, I will certainly stay there again when in London.

The "twin" room I booked was single size proprtions with 2xsingle beds crammed inside. It was in need of redecoration...and re-fitting. The portable TV did not work. Wardrobe door would not not close and remained open throughout our stay. Bathroom and toilet were tiny...bathroom needing painted. No shower gel/shampoo supplied. One measly odourless soap tablet was supplied. The accommodation would require major surgery and brought up to proper standard if I were ever to return.

Very friendly welcome from staff. The room was noisy as it faced on to a main road and backed on to what appeared to be some sort of plant room which had a motor / generator running. However, clean and comfortable despite the fact that the shower did not work to well. Nonetheless, what can you expect for 25.00 per night in central London in July. Good value for money if you need somewhere to crash for the night.

The customer service both on the telephone before we went and on arrival was probably the rudest I have ever come across. They actually hung up the phone on my partner upon merely checking our booking. The room was ok, (would have been nice to have a hairdryer), but never mind. The food was good, however the planning of breakfast was chaotic, with not enough tables and chairs for all the guests. Suitable accommodation for 1 nights stay and for those who don't mind a couldn't care less attitude by staff.

We moved rooms, then the TV didnt work properly.....bad reception
7. in new room.....wardrobe handle came off in our hands
8. we only had 1 towel on the bed....i asked for another at 11am when we went out for the day.....arrived back at 11pm to find 1 towel STILL on the bed.....and no extra towel for the bathroom floor......had to go to reception MYSELF to get it.....no room service offered.
9. when we booked through late rooms it wasnt clear as to whether there was any breakfast included.....so i phoned the hotel directly and a man told me all rooms included breakfast....when we arrived we were told it didnt !!!!!
10. having explained all these things to the general manager, and asked for a dscount, she said "im sorry i cannot offer you anything, you only paid 58 per night which was a very good rate" !!!!!!!!
i felt i wasnt listened to and my complaints were totally dismissed. i paid 174 in total for 3 nights and whilst it isnt a lot by Londons stds, its still 174 out of my pocket and i felt i did not get value.
The only positive was the bed was extremely comfortable.

The location of this hotel is brilliant if you're planning a weekend in London and want to be central and close to attractions. It is a 3 minute walk from West Brompton tube, at the back of Earl's Court and is on the District line, so it's very easy to get around London. The room we were in was right next to a passage way door, which creaked very loudly whenever anybody walked through it. It was also very stuffy in the room, with no air conditioning. The room is also very small, with walking space alongside only one side of the bed. The bathroom also smelled slightly of mould, and was again very small. However, being in a double room on a Friday night in central London for 58.00, it wasn't too bad.

We booked this hotel over others as the photographs looked nice. When we arrived we found that the walls were dirty and there was tiles and wall paper missing on the walls. We spoke to the person on reception the evening we arrived but he couldn't do anything. The following morning we spoke to someone else on reception and was told it was a group room so the walls got dirtier than the other rooms. There was no offer of any resolution and we were just told that someone would look into it. The beds were clean and so was the bathroom so the maid service was good.

Hotel Lily is of a very poor standard of cleanliness, repair and I would not stay there again. The shower was an adapter from the taps which meant the water came out poorly and temp control was virtually non-existant. As I travel with only hand luggage, I bring minimal toiletries normally relying on the hotels provision. This hotel came with a bar of soap (the type you get in poor public toilets). The room had a portable TV (no remote) which barely got reception and the beds were like sleeping on a park bench - appropriate given the accommodation is a step up from staying on one. The location is dire, positioned opposite some kind of depot for HGV vehicles meaning rumbling of engines and reverse signals day and night. On a walk to find some decent food nearby, there was a vagrant asleep in a children's playground and women being hassled on the streets. The hotel has no control over this I understand, but it's just to make other single visitors aware, especially women. The price may appear generous for London however I'd urge you to spend 10-20 more and get a world of difference in quality.

If you just want a cheap base from which to explore London it's ok.
Sure, if you look closely the place is tired, peeling wall paper, badly painted skirtings, broken and missing ceiling tiles, doors that scrape the ceiling.
My room (225), was small but the bed was at least clean and comfortable... or it would have been were it not for the horrendous heatwave that swept London this week! BEWARE: no air conditioning!!!!
The place is easy to find, just a short walk from Earls Court Underground station (The Warwick Rd exit) so very convenient for quick access to the Centre of London.
There was good security all through the night at the entrance to the hotel so it felt safe.
The TV didn't work very well and the radio was broken, as were a few of the fluorescent tube lights in the room. The shower worked fine and was quite powerful.
There was not much noise from other rooms or outside either even with the window wide open.
Breakfast was served in the 70's cruise liner basement dining room from 7am and was again, ok. Little choice but cooked well, nice and hot and not swimming in grease.
Overall I was fairly happy but would not have wanted to spend more than 1 night here, next time I will choose somewhere with air conditioning even if it does cost a little more.
Matresses' have all recently been replaced (therefore comfortable), shower acceptable, noise from other rooms (and corridor) also acceptable. Bottom line... if you want 4/5 * service, check into the nearest hilton at 3/4x the price.. if you're looking for geographical conviencince that is clean and is as comfortable as the price tag says it will be, this is a winner!

Overall we were happy with our rooms. they were quite small but as it was very cheap it was what we expected. it had a great location for us as we were going to earls court and it is only a two minute walk. However, on out last night we found a mouse in our room. After telling the woman at reception, who didn't seem to be very bothered and tried to lay the blame on us asking if we had food in there, we had a proper look down the sides of our beds etc and found that it was absolutely filthy and looked like the beds had NEVER been pulled out and cleaned behind or under. If we hadn't have found a mouse we would have considered staying again but we wouldn't consider it now. maybe if the staff on reception had made an attempt to apologise or take responsibility I wouldn't have given it quite such a bad review.

our hopes of the hotel went quickly downhill when approaching letters were missing from the hotel sign. then with the two of us & our cases struggling to fit into the lift we made our way the one of the smallest, most basic room in london. a tiny tv with only two channels, a shower that dribbled boilling hot water, a bathroom to small to fit on the toilet & only two plug sockets. the decor hadn't been touched in years & no care had gone into previous repair works.
I strongly recommend staying at this hotel, if i had been with the mrs or family i would have walked out & found somewhere else to stay.

They say that you get what you pay for, but at Hotel Lily you can get slightly more. As a base for excursions into the local area I would recommend it provided that you were not planning to spend a large amount of time in the hotel. For people who are going to be at Earl's Court Exhibition Centre it is excellent.
The accommodation is very basic with small rooms, don't expect any frills (but you shouldn't at the low prices they charge). The hotel is about 150 yards from West Brompton Tube station and about 200 yards from the Exhibition Centre. Some parking is available at 12 per day but it is limited so you may have to park nearby if you are driving.
The hotel seemed to be very popular with foreign guests (which I liked) although a coachload of French Students during my four day stay meant that getting a seat at breakfast was problematic. On the subject of breakfast, the English Breakfast was excellent with the bacon being cooked to perfection!
Overall I would recommend Hotel Lily to people on a budget (and especially people who want to be close to Earl's Court Exhibition Centre). I thought that the stay represented great value and the crowning glory was the excellent breakfast.

A few bed bugs were noticed in the rooms. Moreover, towels were not changed daily. Just 1 blanket for a twin room (i don't understand how 1 blanket can be shared in a twin room). English Breakfast was not buffet. It was served on table with very limited variety. Only benefit of this hotel is that it is near Earls Court Exhibition Grounds, otherwise not worth the payment.

You get what you pay for and this was a London Hotel at under 100 a night! But no excuse for damp blankets, cold rooms and dangerous light fittings.
The metal window and single pane glass means condensation and cold was inevitable. However on retrieving a blanket from the wardrobe floor, the floor was smashed open to reveal the joists and the blanket itself was sodden with damp. The overhead pull switch light fitting detached itself from the wall above the bed, dropping a 2' fluorescent bulb on my head. Quite comical really but as they charge your credit card on arrival and the reception staff ignore all complaints and offer no compensation, there is little I could do about it. The alarm-clock radio did not work, there were problems with the wash basin not getting drained off because the blocker could not be unblocked. A guy came in, took that off and put it right beside the tap as if I had something to do with that later on. The food was good but we had to go to an underground restaurant for that (yup, underground.. no windows!). Considering it was cheaper than any other hotels it was okay for the money we spent (59/night). Had everything worked in the room I would've given this a better rating.

Mattresses of varying quality - could actually feel the springs through some of them! No handles on the wardrobes (they'd been either pulled off or fallen off) but there was a kettle and selection of tea and coffee.
Breakfast was a redeeming quality - friendly efficient service, with a decent portion of bacon, eggs, beans and toast!
In all, for the prices (27ish per head) it's a room with a warm dry bed in an accessible part of London. Booked 4 rooms as nothing else avail. Got out of lift to go to room and staff were sitting outside lift on floor eating curry. The place stank. the room was no more than a cupboard and the bed had a huge dip in the middle. i demanded my money back and was leaving - manager refused and showed me another room - only difference was no dip in bed. We had no choice but to stay as refund was denied totally- even with me threatening them with refuting charge thru credit card company (they took all cash on arrival - they obv used to the complaints). Slept with clothes on. This place should be removed from laterooms - it will give you a BAD reputation

Hotel is in an ideal location for Earls Court. Only a 2 minute walk away. Double rooms are very small but clean and very warn. Bed linen was very clean and white with the bed being very comfortable as was the pillows which we asked for more without any fuss. Reception girls were pleasant and welcoming, with information on local places to eat. Food (breakfast) was not the best with no choice of cereals etc. Only english breakfast available. for one night, this hotel is o.k. Wouldn't stay for a long period of time here.

Website did not state additional cost of car park at hotel - 12.00 per night. Reception staff not helpful. The hotel was advertised as being recently and tastfully redecorated, I would question "recent", there was bricks exposed between the hanging space and the door, the curtains were ill fitting and allowed a large amount of light in, the walls are very thin allowing you the luxury of hearing most things said / done in other rooms and the corridor. the fire doors clashed and battered as people went through adding to the noise. There was ample tea / coffee in the room, alas no milk for which to put in. I didnt try the food or the bar so cannot comment. Within 100 yards there is a relatively new hotel for the same money, this is a far better place to consider. I would not stay at, nor recommend this hotel to anyone.

The hotel is generally neglected in terms of decor and appearance. The rooms are small and bath rooms are tiny. All the staff need training in customer care. The staff do not smile and seem miserable. Like many businesses there is a need to be client focussed. Smile, make the customer feel welcome and they just might return. I will not.
