Good value last minute deal

Got a late deal for £49 for the night, midweek. Surprised to get a double bed in a pretty spacious room. Very clean and tidy. Full sized kettle and mugs with coffee, tea etc. Also, handily, a wee fridge in the cupboard which meant that I could avoid the long life milk and get fresh stuff from one of the many nearby shops. My room was right next to the lift on the ground floor (G002) and I worried this might be a problem. It turned out not to give me any issues and I didn't hear the lift at all. En suite recently done (as was all the decor, by the looks of it) and excellent shower. Like most London hotels, luck plays a part in the room you end up with. Colleagues have also stayed here and had much smaller rooms (some with only a single bed) but all clean etc. Bayswater is a great area for eating out. I think the World's cuisine is provided within 15 minutes walk of the hotel! Very handy.

Comments on stay at Hotel 43

Very Good. The area is great for restaurants,
The hotel room was smallish but well arranged.
Breakfast didn\'t have hot toast but was fine otherwise.
For good value can\'t be beaten.

Room was recently refurbished, with excellent en-suite and double bed even for a single room. Breakfast was fine. Overall extremely good value for a central location.

Business stay

The room was very small with an even smaller en-suite. It was however clean and adequate for my purposes as somewhere central to sleep whilst in London. Like many hotels it was very hot and stuffy at night. Fresh towels were provided every day and the housekeeper managed to fold the towels in various shapes of origami - from lilypads to even a scottie dog (very unusual and amusing!) Breakfast was continental and adequate without being interesting. I would stay here again

Good for a budget London stopover

Nice and clean and good value for the location. Have stayed here before and still no plug in the basin & a look of surprise from the receptionist when you ask for one - otherwise all OK.

Overall a good hotel, let down by poor service at reception

Good hotel , good location only let down was that I was staying in the '39' section you need to purchase a token for breakfast. Unfortunately I was unable to buy a token as the person on reception did not know how to issue one so no breakfast.

The best of this type of London budget hotel that I have stayed in. Bathroom sink plug missing and the receptionist did seem to be strangely mystified at my request for a replacement! Pretty good continental breakfast included although the basement breakfast room was pretty small and therefore rather crowded.

You get what it says on the tin!

This small hotel is clean, provides a good quality continental breakfast (no cooked breakfast available) and is good value for money. The rooms are extremely small but provide all the usual facilities. The recent refurbishment was done to domestic standard using attractive but low cost fittings - the consequence is some things are already showing signs of wear. Shower cubicles in particular starting to break in 2 out of 3 rooms we used. Staff are helpful and responsive to any issues (my washbasin had no plug).
All in all, I'd use it again for an economic business trip.

Would definitely stay again

This hotel is a 5 min walk to Queensway tube, or great bus routes.
We didn't have time to go into Hyde Park, but it was great to have so much greenery around, rather than be stuck in a busy street in the west end, at a chain hotel.
The room wasn't huge, but well equipped and clean and had a very nice new bathroom.
The breakfast buffet was very good for a continental selection. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

Lovely hotel....

After reading some reviews was a bit apprehensive, but found the hotel to be lovely, clean & great location for concert at Hyde Park. Room was small (as expected from other reviews) - but was fine for few days stay, although lack of space to store case was a wee bit annoying. Bathroom was lovely, looked pretty new & reception staff were amiable. Another plus was that the street was quiet, so no probs at night. We did not take the breakfast so can't comment on that. Would recommend for a short stay in London.

Cheap(ish) and cheerful

Reasonably priced for London, well located for Circle and Central lines. Rooms clean but small, the one given to us was on the ground floor with little natural light, other rooms may be better.
