Somewhere to stay ofr one night

Searched for a hotel for one night following family return from holiday in Paris. This hotel was available and was at the lower end of the expense scale. Room was adequate for family of four. Room was clean, and provided us with somewhere to rest our heads. The welcome was very good, and customer service continued the next day when we wanted to leave our bags for an hour or two after checking out. Friendly staff. Breakfast was good, although mixed fruit would have been a better option than peach slices. Would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a budget hotel.

Sleepless in london

Arriving at the hotel I asked if we could change to a twin. The staff said they had one and would show us first for us to approve. The room looked fine and said we'd take it. We realised that it was facing the road. Once we went to bed we realised what a mistake it was. The road was very noisy and a fan outside kept coming on and off and a security light came on as well and if anyone used a bathroom above us you were kept awake by water running through pipes and finally there was a smell of drains when a toilet was used. This hotel won't be used by us again.

Our experience at the Holiday Inn Express

I am sorry to say that we did not enjoy the experience of staying at the Holiday Inn Express in Belgrave Road. The room was obviously purpose made for disabled people which, although not a problem in itself, did meant that we did not have a bath or a shower that was contained within a cubicle. This was a big problem as using the shower meant that the floor of the room flooded and there was no way to avoid having to step in the water anywhere in the room. We also did not realise this and found that, after the first use of the shower, our wash bags (which were left on the floor near the toilet) were soaked through.
There was also an apparent problem with the supply of hot water as it appeared that whenever the hot water was used by the room next door (which we could hear running) then there was no hot water in our room - very frustrating when one is in the shower already!!
When we arrive the handle to the shower room was hanging by a single screw however this was mended quickly once we brought it to the attention of the receptionist.
The socket feeding the kettle was faulty as the plug needed to be fiddled with to make the power come on.
The quality of the breakfast was very poor with not enough cutlery available for all the people there, a lack of teabags, only 3 cereal choices when there were 4 recepticles available and 4 cereals advertised and only one staff member available to help with these problems (I have to say that she did a sterling job but was obviously over stretched as she was trying to do the clearing and re-supplying at the same time as dealing with the various compliants from the other guests).
Overall our stay was not enjoyable and we will not be either using this hotel again or recommending it to our friends (which is as shame as many of them travel to London for short city breaks with their families).

The room was quite small which is expected given the central London location - very convenient for the west end. Equipped with a LCD TV and a nice en-suite with an excellent shower. Quiet enough not to be disturbed during the night. Next day, the non-cooked breakfast was fine. The cooked options were scrambled egg and sausages but I didn't like the look of the latter so gave them a miss. Staff seemed lovely. Overall, not bad at all and I'd be happy to stay again.

Lots of promise, problems with food and admin

Good hotel, good price, good location, good attitude, but...
1. Breakfast not ready on time 15-20 minutes late, disaster when on a tight schedule.
2. Messed up my bill.

Very hot and noisy

Our room was very hot when we arrived, too hot, but turning off the rad and coming back several hours later helped, but a noise entering the room kept both of us awake all night. It sounded like a toilet cistern filling up, but much louder. No sleep at all did not help me like a sausage and egg breakfast, I hate eggs and was looking forward to a full English (without the eggs of course). Had to be satisfied with a croisant.
Apart from that everything else was good value. especially for New Years Eve.
