despite being told I could have a double...
despite being told I could have a double I arrived to find a twin and was told I would have to pay more for a double. After some discussion, during in which I left for 10 minutes to make a call, I was given a double room. They did manage to resolve it but if they would have told me the position I would have booked elsewhere. I was also not told the pool was closed for refurbishment when I booked (the day before arrival), I would have booked elsewhere if I had known, overall it was decent enough for the money I paid however this hotel is no where near being worth the rack rate

I booked the hotel on reccomendation from Barry...
I booked the hotel on reccomendation from Barry at the call centre, as I wanted to stay somewhere else and it was booked up...he said we wouldnt be dissapointed and WE WASNT... The hotel location fin relationship to the theatre was 10/10. <br />The staff was great from checking in to checking out, excellent customer service. <br />The room was well layed out and comfortable; plenty of storage and the bath/shower where good too. <br />Overal I couldnt find anything wrong with the hotel...keep up the good work. 'I WILL BE COMING AGAIN SOON.

The hotel is in a ideal location situated...
The hotel is in a ideal location situated right outside London Victoria Station the rooms are very nice , however I felt privacy was lacking as someone was always knocking on the door and sometimes even walking in, I mainly choose this hotel for the spa facilities however the were being re furbished throughout my stay wihich noone had mentioned.

Used this hotel purely for it's location to...
Used this hotel purely for it's location to Victoria Station & tube links, as we were arriving & departing via Gatwick Express over a 24hr period. You can cut through to the Wilton Street or Hudson Place east exits next to platform 1 & the hotel is opposite. Check in & check out was swift & efficient, reception staff pleasant & helpful. Rooms small but clean with mod cons & decent shower/bath, for central London, reasonable value at 104 a night for room only. Outside noise didn't affect any of the 3 rooms we occupied. Didn't use restaurant facilities but breakfast buffet looked decent enough.

Booked room 2 months before arrival date, checked the day before arrival, Advised all ok arrived midday to be advised that our room was not ready, No problem, went and did some xmas shopping, on return at 6.30pm advised that they didn't have a room and we would need to go to a sister hotel for our room. Not impressed to say the least

Excellent facilities in the Hesperia and opposite Victoria station making sightseeing easy on the Underground. Hesperia staff were helpful and whole process was easy. Room booking added a surcharge of 40 onto my 100 bill to cover any expenses but was informed this will be refunded once stay has been completed (no problem there). Spa facilities a bonus. Staff downstairs gave us a quick look around and sauna was a nice addition, if onyl we had brought swimwear as the pool and jacuzzi looked very good too. Recommended.

i enjoyed my stay at this hotel great...
i enjoyed my stay at this hotel,great location and the hotel itself is lovely. However, the one thing which does let the hotel down is the rude staff. Reception staff were extremely rude when checking in and then when checking out. the two receptionists spoke to each other and hardly acknowledged my presence.<br />The rude staff definitely let this hotel down. Also, 16 for breakfast!!! Anyone who pays this for breakfast must be crazy!!

The Hesperia Hotel is in a great location...
The Hesperia Hotel is in a great location. Although the bus-coach/trains/ and underground are just across the road we did not notice any noise. The room (twin bedded) was comfortable and of a good size. The breakfast was a buffet style with plenty of choice. I would say the only dissapointment was the size of the pool as it's very small, and not large enough to swim in. If you do go in for a dip make sure you take your own hairdryer as the one provided in the room is not powerful enough to style your hair. If you like to work out there are running machines etc., but to be honest after a day walking around London we had very little energy for using these facilities.

A good location with friendly staff. The pool and jacuzzi were small but clean and empty. The barman was lovely...the drinks were pricey! The bed was comfy and it was nice and quiet. The room was an ok size and clean (apart from under the bed).<br />the mini bar was expensive...we bought booze from a nearby offy. There was an ice machine in the hall which was handy. The view from our 7th floor room was not pretty but we didn't care. The room had good air con. Right next to victoria station nr a boots,threshers,and m&s food...pubs and restuarants nr by. Had a bit of a shock when absailing window cleaners were at our window without warning.

We arrived early at the hotel and were offered an upgrade to one of the executive suites for an extra 10 - this was well worth the money and our room was lovely - especially the bed! <br />We did not eat at the hotel so cannot really comment - but breakfast was between 10-15 per head. We went to the Weatherspoons round the corner and had a brilliant breakfast for about a fiver between the two of us! <br />The hotel was really close to Victoria station - right opposite the rear entrance and was ideal for us as we wanted somewhere close to the station. The hotel had pool and jacuzzi facilities but unfortunately we didn't have time to make use of them. <br />The staff were very friendly and professional and we would definitely stay here again.

I ws given wrong directions to the hotel...
I ws given wrong directions to the hotel twice by staff who clearly could not speak English. the pool was mouldy and the floors near it dirty. The jacuzzi was qurter full!!! The food started at 7 for a bowl of soup! so I ate nothing. The room was small with nasty 70s furnishings - this for 186 for an "executive bouble room". they had forgooten to put the exec bits - dressing gown and cosmetics - in the room so I had to ring down for them. the hairdrier was one of the worst I have ever seen. I was to put it mildly underwhelmed. I would not recommwend this hotrel till it is thoroughly refubished.

For the most part the hotel was good, but the food on he buffet was not very warm, the team were not really interested in being of assistance,<br />On the morning I was due to leave I had 5 different people knock on my door, when i trying to complete an essential piece of work, they all wanted to know when I was leaving - I found this very disturbing and could not understand why the reception did not provide a list for the Housekeeping staff as people left, after all , you are told that the room is yours up until 12 noon, as it was i left before then, as I could not finish my work.<br />this marred my stay, as apart from that, I was enjoying the stay.

When I arrived the receptionist could not find...
When I arrived the receptionist could not find my booking through late rooms and even though I gave them the booking reference they wanted to see the print out confirmation of my booking through late rooms, which I had to arrange to be emailed to them. This all took about half an hour and the receptionist left it to me to sort out the problem and was not at all helpful (she did not ring late rooms to sort the issue out).<br />The decor in the room was poorly finished (light hanging from the ceiling in an unfinished way and unpainted mdf showing on the boxing around the window) and the carpet looked grubby. There was no bottle opener in the minibar.<br />The only reason I would come back to this hotel is its excellent location right next to Victoria station.

This is a lovely hotel with excellant facilities. The rooms are of a very good size and are very clean and tidy. <br />Great location as it is right next door to Victoria Train Station. Would highly recommend this hotel to business travellers, leisure or families as the hotel provides facilities and caters for all requirements.

When arriving at the hotel with the confirmation...
When arriving at the hotel with the confirmation from yourselves they had no details sent from you to this hotel. They checked with the reservations dept but they had not received my confirmation this was not a good sign. I then had to pay up front for this room and a 20 deposit I was not very happy. This site was recommended to me from a friend I will probably not use it again.

This hotel was so easy to find right...
This hotel was so easy to find right outside Victoria station. Although we had a room verlooking the station, it was not noisy. The reception clerk was really nice and assisted us in every way witha friendly and polite manner. The spa and sauna facilities are free so make good use! Didn't eat there so can't comment. Our roomw a s twin and it was really nice! Large, great bathroom, clean, minibar , plasma screen TV etc. We were even allowedto bring in food and drinks frm outside (Sainsburys and M&S are not too far) to put in the mini bar.<br />Would definitely stay there again! Location is absolutely superb for business people and tourist for convenience of transport etc. Abundance of really good restaurants. Downside is the views from this hotel are not wonderful, although buildings are not right next to the hotel and we had a room looking across Victoria station which was fine.

the hotel was clean and interior was lovley, the location was ideal and a 15minute walk to Buckingham Palace. However, i felt the staff weren't very friendly or helpful. They did not give us any information about the hotel or anything like that. I also requested a double bed but instead got two single beds,they didn't even tell us this at reception and when i went to reception to let them know we had requested a double room they siad they didn't have any available!! This is an expensive hotel so you would expect the staff to help you as much as possible.

Great location next to Victoria station easy to...
Great location next to Victoria station, easy to get around London from there whether through tube train or walking. Close to some nice restaurants and a few pubs.<br />The room was very stuffy, apparently because the snowman setting on the thermostat means you want to be warm not cold, so check with the reception staff first before playing around with the controls!<br />Breakfast was fine if very pricey at 10pp, so not good value for money but the service was good and the morning staff bright and cheery, providing plenty of coffee to help me wake up.<br />I didn't get the chance to try out the pool. The bar is nicely done out and drinks are priced as you would expect at a London hotel bar, but it could get quite crowded as it was busy on the Saturday night.<br />The main issue at the weekend was the building work going on behind the hotel, but that didn't start until about 8am anyway. If you're wanting to lie in it can be quite distracting, but the LCD TVs provide a more preferable background noise.

The reason for choosing this hotel wa because of the leisure facilities that it had. However they were not anything special and the jacuzzi was not working. The staff at reception did not seem to be overly friendly, had strong accents which were hard to understand and they tried to charge us more than we had been confirmed, only when we disbuted the price did they change it. The room was nice and clean but we had asked for a twin room and got a double bed, there was only one robe, one slippers etc. The location was very convenient. A bit over priced.

Room overlooking railway station, however not disturbed by noise at any time. If you exit Victoria station by platforms 1,2 you are 2 mins walk directly across to hotel. Easy check in/out, left luggage etc. Bar is open till 1.00am and not too pricey for London.<br />Very central. Would use this hotel again.

For this class of hotel I would have expected more. The room service was poor at best, the bath took nearly 20 mins to empty and the shower had no pressure to speak of. Very disappointed.

Hotel was OK but tried to book in at 12 and was told to return at 2 which was fine. Came back at 2 to be told room still not ready but if we wanted to upgrade, they had a room available. Very sneeky!! <br />TV was supposed to have numerous channels but only 3 worked. It was a bit noisy as our room was opposite the back entrance of Victoria Station which seemed to have deliveries all through the night.<br />Apart from that, very good. Central location and lots to do nearby.

Hotel was fantastically near to central London, walking distance from Westminster, London Eye and a short tube ride to theatre district. Would be helpful if it was stated that if arriving by train should leave Victoria station by exit at Platform 1 as hotel is right there. Our room was quiet with no road or train noise at all.

Excellent location, literally right next to Victoria train/tube stations (but it was not noisy) and a 5 minute walk to Victoria coach station. Booking through LateRooms allowed us to stay for one night for 94 which was excellent value for money. Would highly recommend to others due to the location.

The hotel is in a great location if you are arriving/departing from Victoria bus/train station and is only 15 mins walk from Hyde Park. Despite ovelooking the train station, the room was quiet. The room was large and comfortable and the staff were friendly. I would stay at this hotel again.

I have recently started traveling to London twice...
I have recently started traveling to London twice a year, and will stay no where but the Hesperia London Victoria. My wife and I have over 15 years experience in the hotel industry, and have checked out of my wife's company own hotel to go back to the Hesperia. The front desk and restaurant staff can not be beat by any other hotel in London. I would rather spend one night in the Hesperia London, than a week of luxury in any other hotel in Europe.
