Boutique hotel - Top knotch cuisine - Friendly staff

Stayed here mid week for 1 night. Arrived late but checked in quickly. The restaurant was only open for another 30 mins and I was told to come in when ready. They were expecting me and service was prompt. Food very good and high standard. Not a cheap hotel but for good value for location - next to J2 M1 but very quiet. Would definitely stay again.

Two night stay at Hendon Hall Hotel November 2011

We chose to stay at Hendon Hall because my wife and I were visiting London to see a couple of shows; we were travelling from the Midlands and didn't want to stay too close to the city centre. We initially booked a single night's stay at Hendon Hall through laterooms.com but decided to extend our stay by another night about a week before we travelled by calling the hotel directly. This caused confusion for the receptionist, who had trouble finding our booking, and subsequently, I suspect, led to the tea and coffee facilities and toiletries in our room not being replenished after the first night.
On the plus side, the hotel is very easy to get to, being close to both jnc 1 and jnc 2 of the M1. The hotel and its grounds are well presented and well maintained and the accommodation was of the standard expected. However, little things such as the booking confusion, housekeeping lapse and very squeaky floorboards in our room let it down.
The restaurant was clean, comfortable and well presented. Restaurant staff were friendly and helpful.

Easy to get to from M1 and just far enough off the North Circular to have no problem with traffic noise.
Room was lovely, clean and decent size with good en-suite and all of the expected 'trimmings'. Lovely building and nice gardens. Only stayed one night so didn't have much to do with the staff but receptionist and breakfast staff were pleasant and efficient. Breakfast was very good standard, plenty of variety and plentiful. Overall very good and not expensive (cost us £110 including breakfast)

Excellent Three Day Short Break

Everything about this attractive hotel is aimed at making the guest feel special and it is located close enough to enjoy the attractions of the city being about half an hour's journey into London on the Underground. Situated approxomately a mile from the Tube Station we walked down but got a taxi back each day for £5.00.
I contacted the hotel directly after making my booking through Late Rooms with a couple of queeries and had an immediate and very helpful response from the deputy manager Mathew Moffat both by telephone and email.
On our arrival which was quite late in the evening check in was handled swiftly and efficiantly by Valerie and I can't say a wrong word about anything during our stay. The breakfasts were delicious and nicely served by the freindly staff. A little incident which made me giggle but also realise how difficult a waiters job sometimes is happened at breakfast, another guest on an adjacent table complained loudly that their toast was cold and requested some more. This was after they had watched T.V. on a lap top at the table for a good few minutes whilst the first lot of toast which had been brought promptly was sitting in the toast rack . More toast was delivered by an appologetic waiter without hardly a Thank You. I hope if that guest reads this they will perhaps recognise their poor behavior. I really wish I had said something at the time.
Thanks for an extremely enjoyable break we will certainly visit this or another 'Hand Picked Hotel' in the near future.

Some great positives, overshadowed by the few negatives

I was impressed by the actual accommodation, the rooms were beautiful. In addition, the room service with no additional charge was extremely useful. Unfortunately, there were some problems, I had booked another room which wasn't booked through late rooms that hadn't been reserved, I was fortunate enough that they had another room available during the busy graduation period. This was handled well, however a table I had confirmed the evening before, wasn't available the next day. This was soon sorted, but the set meal that we had planned became unavailable, after a talk with the manager, this changed and we were given the menu we were told we could order from back when I had booked it. Overall the stay had not run smoothly and was disorganised and we had to speak to the manager on more than one occasion.

Luxury in London!

Stay at this hotel! It feels like a country mansion in the capital! Beautiful outside and in, friendly helpful staff, comfortable spotless room with pretty bathroom, glorious dining room with wonderful array of food, lovely gardens too. The only drawback is the distance from the tube, but we got a cab from the kiosk opposite Hendon Central for £5, so we thought it's a minor gripe. All in all, a great find in London, such a change to be made feel important. Will definitely stay again! Ten out of ten!

Lovely short stay at the Hendon Hall Hotel

Customer service at the Hendon Hall hotel is excellent. We had a very nice room, but there was a slight problem. However, when this was brought to the attention of the management, we were immediately upgraded to a lovely room. The staff are also very friendly and attentive. The Hotel is ideally situated for driving into London from the north.

Nice hotel. Clean room, smallish, no view, slightly dated. Staff were very helpful, although when asked how to get to Stanstead airport they told me to get a train to Liverpool St or Totanham Hale. There is a bus from Hendon Way that takes less than an hour(much easier). Food was good. Had a very enjoyable and relaxing stay

London Hendon Hall Hotel

Easily found, just off junction 2 of the M1 and located close to the North Circular made this hotel perfect for our short break (hoping in to and out of the City). There is plenty of reasonably close access to Tube and Train services.
Our room and the Hotel in general; are in need of re decoration. Our en-suite would have benefitted from some new fittings particularly. The staff were pleasant and extremely helpful, check in and out was graceful and expedient. Food and drinks were well prepared and pristinely presented, service was impeccable.
Overall an extremely enjoyable experience and pleasant atmosphere. However, in my opinion, not quite a four star hotel.

Nice hotel, nice staff, nice time!

I liked this hotel. I had stayed at another hotel in this Group previously (The Priesthouse) for my best friend's wedding which was good, and this hotel was no different. The rooms are spacious and well-appointed and it comes up trumps in the mark of a good hotel - pillows!
There was a bit of a mix-up when we first arrived as the rooms had got mixed up (twin instead of a double) and we moved between about 3 rooms before we got it right, but I can honestly say that the staff worked fastidiously to get things right for us and we didn't get a sense that we were a nuisance to them.

What an amazing hotel in North London. It really makes one feel very special from the furnishing and quality of the rooms but the best was the restaurant, the food is sublime. Dinner could have been served at a 3 start Michelin establishment without hesitation and breakfast from the fresh bread to the cooked platter made s superb end to a very hard week.

They went the extra mile

I was only there for one night. I had requested on the internet booking to have access to a business centre to do some important work with a client for an hour or so. Even though that request had not got through, I was allowed to use a conference room which was fine.
Nice hotel though a little out of the way.

Hidden away hotel with history

The hotel has a very quaint old world feeling to it inthat it was an old manor house and has sought to retain its historic charm ...but here it is set in the midst ...of a very busy area of London and for me was right on the spot. Service from reception through to waiting and cleaning staff was excellent all the staff I spoke to were very friendly and polite and couldnt do enough to assist. I opted for the in room breakfast service for 7.00am ...the breakfast tray was brought on the dot at 7....I must speak of the breakfast ...i have had many hotel breakfasts ...this one was superb ....contents were what you would expect ......an english cooked breakfeat ......however top marks for the food being hot extremely well cooked ...... efw poached eggs being exactky right and the best mushrooms I have sampled for a good while..well done.....a late booking out time was standard ..11.00am so all in all a very good experience

I booked this hotel because of it's location and was amazed that they didn't even have the decency to phone me and tell me there was a problem. A real gem but not allowed to shine

I stayed here for the second time, this time bringing my partner.
On arrival we had a really nice welcome, the receptionist even confirmed they were taking cae of my food allergies without any prompting. But, we were then informed that the restaurant was closed. However, we were offered either room service or a meal in the bar. We were then offered a free upgrade to a lovely suite - what a treat. We decided to obtain food out and make the most of our suite. The bed was sooo comfortable - a pleasant night sleep!
In the morning we had an important day ahead of us, so were looking forward to a scrumptious breakfast. However, despite a very pleasant welcome by the waiter, we were bitterly disappointed. I asked for soya milk for my cereal (see above). This took 15 - 20 minutes to arrive! Next I ordered a meal, which took 30 minutes to arrive and was the wrong meal (2 were brought). There were very few at breakfast, but s many of them were complaining about the poor service. After reordering and a further 20 min I eventually obtained my breakfast - on complaining I was told the kitchen was closed and they were using the one across the car park.
The poor service at breakfast was a real shame, such a lovely hotel too!
Will return, but hope to have better food service next time.

Great Hotel For Location

This hotel is an oasis in Brent Cross. A quiet room in great surrounding free parking and easy to get to. Breakfast amazing. My only comment would be I stayed there two nights and they don't come in and servce your room in between time, which I found strange and upsetting. I think things like dirty cups and towls should be removed after the first night.

I really like this hotel, it had all the little extras that make a stay away from home easy. This was served on a flat plate. not the as advertised or as the other diners were using. Poor start but good finish

We arrived early evening. On opening the room door, we saw a breakfast tray on the table and the unmade bed. Back at reception, apologies were made and an upgraded room offered. The lights were faulty. A member of staff checked a third room before we were given the key. A lovely room with bay window and beautiful soft furnishings, but let down by the 'climate control' heating which was unable to cope with the frosty weather. A separate plug-in convector heater was provided- and needed.
The reception on the television was also disappointing and did not improve after someone came to retune it. Match of the Day had an odd wavy line down the middle of the screen!
On a positive note, we requested a continental breakfast in our room and it was brought right on time and was of excellent quality.
This was our second stay; our first went smoothly.

Excellent Hotel, shame about the smelly bathroom

Booked Hendon Hall as a last minute deal. Was pleasantly surprised that other people's reviews seemed to be quite accurate.
Good welcoming and service.
Bathroom smelled awful, but didn't have heart to complain on this occasion as I was tired out.
Breakfast was really nice, although had to wait an age for my tea and toast - they only came after I had enquired where they were; that was ten minutes after receiving my cooked breakfast.
