Does what it says on the can

Very reasonable, no frills accommodation, dont look for luxury of any description, but as a B & B that close to amenities such as Kew gardens, its worth having a look at.

No TV

No TV in room and had not experienced this for years. £100 set would have sufficed. Breakfast good. It was alright for a couple of nights on business.

Basic Accommodation but very cheap for students at West London Uni- Just 5 min walk

The room I stayed in was very basic indeed, just a bed, wardrobe and a desk - but this was ok for what I needed. The shared bathroom and toilet was clean. The shower was a little old but again, it did the job.
There is a communal kitchen with microwave, fridge and tea/coffee making facilities and a TV room.
Breakfast was included which was again basic -continental but perfectly good enough. and friendly staff. The only complaint i would have was the breakfast table - I would have prefered seperate tables rather than share - but then I am unsociable in the mornings!!
If you are a student looking for cheap accommodation then I would definitely recommend this place.

Very cheap but for a good reason

This could have been a great find. Price is excellent, about 5 mins walk to the tube (Piccadilly Line) then about 15-20min to Covent Garden. Parking on site (£3 charge).
So what went wrong...
1. No external light or at least not turned on- trying to get the key in the door and turned in the dark was not fun.
2. No lights on in the hall, stair or landing. I'm sure there was a light switch somewhere but I'm yet to find it!
3. The most uncomfortable bed I have ever (failed) to sleep on.
4. The most pathetic excuse for a pillow I have ever seen I ended up putting the towels under the pillow just to lift my head of the mattress!
Quite frankly I can manage in the dark and with basic accommodation but the bed and pillow were so bad that I didn't manage to get any sleep at all and as such cannot recommend this place to anyone.

Frustration from Heathrow

I booked this room because the description made a point that it was close to Heathrow. I only needed accomodations for one night as I had a layover before flying back to the United States the next morning. When I landed in Heathrow I called to find out the cost of taxi service to the location and found out that it was atleast 30 pounds for a one-way trip! This was almost as much as the room itself cost, and I still had to get back to the airport the next morning. The person at HazelWood told me that taxi was my only option due to the early morning time that I needed to return to Heathrow. He called a taxi for me. The driver was 15 minutes late to pick me up, and was obviously a friend, since he had no meter in his car and tried to charge me more than the legitimate driver who brought me to the house the day before. The house itself was nice and clean. The neighborhood seemed a little "seedy", and I did not feel totally comfortable there as a single female travelling alone.

Staff member Vlado (Vladimir) very helpful.
Room clean and tidy, bed comfortable, shower powerful and hot enough.
Front room on main road a little noisy if you're unused to cities.
£3 per day to park car (not obvious on laterooms website).
I didn't have breakfast as I was off to a wedding breakfast.

Not for the 'phoneless

What wasn't mentioned when booking the room was that in order to get in you'd have to ring a telephone number. Just don't bother ringing the doorbell or knocking, I did for twenty minutes before a passing pedestrian let me borrow their mobile to ring the bloke who was in the adjoining house. Apart from that everything was fine, bed for the night, breakfast next morning.

Hazelwood Guest House

Very pleasantly surprised; it was easy to reach by tube or overland train. The room was large and comfortable; the breakfast was very good and the price extremely good for London. I would certainly recommend it to anybody looking for accommodation in the area at a reasonable price. Could do with a board outside to identify the place and a small TV might be useful for those who want to relax there in the evening. But for convenience at low cost this is excellent.

Good value for money

I stayed for only one night. It is actually - 2 semi-detached houses run as a hotel.
Positives: Very conveniently located- on main road, close to tube station, bus stop just opposite the hotel. Friendly guy at reception, good breakfast.
Negative: No board / sign of the hotel's name even at the front boundary wall!! Does the door bell really works??
You don't realize whether you are at right place or not until you reach the front door, where there is a small paper glued next to the door with Name of hotel!! So you really need to slow down, if you are driving, or more likely to take a U-turn!!
Honestly that is the only negative I could see. Otherwise It is a very good value for money.

Outstanding Value and located in a nice neighboorhood

Pros:
The owner is very friendly, answers the phone and is easily accessable until 6pm, as I found this out when I accidentally locked myself out of the room. The room is small, clean and functional. The bathroom was clean; although, it is shared between quite a few rooms. Nonetheless, I never had to wait to use it. I had no trouble contacting the owner and I found it easy to locate using the house numbers (note, as others have mentioned there is no 'Hazelwood' sign at the establishments front). Breakfest was much better than i thought it would be: Tea/coffee, toast, ham, cheese, milk, Orange/apple juice, cereal. I would advise you make a sandwich with the cheese and ham, unless you are a fan of cereal. Boston Manor is a much nicer neighboorhood than I had thought, and the tube station is only a 8min/0.5 mi walk from the Boston Manor Tube Station.
Cons:
The bed mattress was not very comfortable, as it could be greatly inmproved with an inexpensive matress cover. The pillow was way too small/short and I had to 'double it up' to have my neck at the correct height while sleeping, I will bring my own pillow for the next visit.
Overall:
Outstanding value, friendly owner, nice/safe area and good if you want a room just for the purpose of sleeping and exploring London. Good for traveling alone or with a friend who isn't particular about accomidations. If you are trying to impress someone, you need to spend a lot more $ for London.

Tricky to find in the dark

Not easy to locate looking for numbers whilst trying to drive in the dark on a busy road. Big sign needed - if there is something with a house name or number on I never found it. I was lucky enough to spot someone else looking puzzled sitting outside in their car and assumed we both had the same problem - we did. I was surprised ( and they seemed shocked) when I turned up at 2130 after travelling all day. Apparently check in is at 1800 (?) so I had to look for a room key in the desk drawer.... Room very basic and small but reasonably clean. Bathroom very cramped and toilet seat needs replacing. Good for people on a budget but really no good for a business traveller if you need to work or watch TV or make contact with the outside world. There is wifi but with no-one around to tell yu the code it's not much use. Breakfast was basic but good enough. Friendly owner (in the morning at least not at 2130). Directions on Laterooms not helpful at all.

Disappointing accommodation

Whilst the accommodation was not considered expensive I think they have a cheek charging anything to stay there!
There was virtually no greeting, an internet code was given twice - in the end we gave up trying to connect. The curtains were not secured properly and when trying to draw them half came off in my hand. There were cobwebs on the ceiling, a dreadful smell coming from the drains, no TV in the room (ok so not advertised as supplying but there was very little in the room).
Breakfast was a shambles - not enough seating so we were left standing until someone else had finished - and their plates had to be washed for the next person (& not dried properly). I was given a mug with a chip in it & my partner was given a glass with a crack down it. The juice carton was placed on the table and it went unnoticed that it was empty! The toast was served on saucers!! Rubbish!!!!

It is definitely NOT a hotel. It is 2 semi-detached houses. Drove past it as no signage and had to rely on the number. No problem and found it. Nobody was in and note on door to ring a mobile and the lady was pleasant and helpful. Directed me to find front door key under the mat and whilst was on the fone she directed me into the office to find my key. Room clean, tidy and perfectly adequate, neighbourhood seems safe. Ther was no TV which I found disappointing and this influences comments regarding the value for money/quality of room. I was out and away about 0600 and it took me about 10 minutes under considerable stress to get my car out as parking is very tight. Would I go there again ? Probably not.

Room was an annexe at back of house, which needed a bit of a dust, but apart from that room OK. It was warm enough without the electric heater and I had toast/ cereal available prior to my early departure. Guest house location is by busy road but being in back of house this wasn't a problem, there is parking for about 5 vans, which costs £3. There is no TV in the room but the house WIFI just about reachs it.

The inn is ideally located for me next door to isleworth station as I was heading to syon lane the next morning, Arrived at the pub about 9pm and spoke to lad behind the bar. He dealt with me quite quickly as he was the only one doing the bar so was quite rushed. The accomdation was across the road in a house but he left sharply after letting me without giving me a key which was inconvient as the cleaner tried to get in the room at 7am! Room was clean and comfortable not special but didn't expect it for the price. Breakfast was done back in the pub which was very good (i had the full english) and did a good range of other options. Clean, Simple Room for a nights stop over. Excellent breakfast down the road!

I stayed here with a couple of friends over 2 rooms, had to wait around for the 'customer service manager' (it's not a home run B&B type thing, the two houses turned into rooms are solely a business venture) to turn up and let us in (having rung a mobile number on the door).
However, when she did turn up she was apologetic and friendly, and quickly showed us to our rooms. She had tried to call ahead and check our arrival time but having just been camping, the phones were out of power.
The rooms were basic but clean and comfortable. Breakfast offered seemed basic, we woke up too late anyway (first night in a bed after a tent!) and took advantage of the places arrangement with a local cafe for a full english. This was available in "The Horseshoe" (although I was told the showhouse, thick accents don't help!), a very nice little cafe a short drive or bus ride away (turn right out of the guesthouse, opposite side of the road a mile down, just before the road forks). Full english with a cuppa for no extra charge.
