Ideal for persons with a family

I booked the apartment. I am a Mother-In-Law and wanted to give the family a couple days in London. We travelled with three children under 5 years - it was ideal. Mother and Father had a large double bedroom and bathroom with a cot for the baby. Ample room. I had a double room of my own and access to a second bathroom with bath and shower. The children (two years and five years) had put-me-up beds in the lounge. This was fun for them and they also took the opportunity to snuggle in with Grandma (me) in the morning. There was a huge kitchen with all the necessary gadgets/equipment.
I have to admit that we didn't cook because their are ample good eateries close by! The washing machine was handy for running through chioldrens clothes.
We spent our time at the easily accessible museums and found the whole experience very restful despite being in London the week before Christmas
I would recommend the apartments to visitors with a family, or groups of friends so you could share all your time together. In a hotel we would have had seperate rooms.

Excellent location and accommodation, but slightly lacking on finer detail

Excellent location for V&A, Kensington and Knightsbridge etc. Staff were really helpful and lovely. Beautiful and spacious apartment, but lost a couple of points on a few small things and maybe a bit over-priced as a last minute deal. Curtains were of a lesser quality in comparison to the overall setting of such a lovely apartment and didn't quite close properly. Limited tea-bags and milk considering there were 4 of us (enough for 1 cup each), but reception were fab and gave us some more. No tea-towel. Thats about it. I would give it 9 out of ten based on price so all in all not bad at all.

Three Times Is Not The Charm

We've stayed at Harrington Court three times over the last couple of years. We love the location; the flats we've stayed in have been good (minus points for no cafetiere, insufficient supply of tableware, and missing manuals for the washer/dryer.)
This time, we had no hot water for two days and heard not much more than a chorus of "I'm sorry" from the staff. They did find another room where we could shower, but the next time, it was another shrug of the shoulders.
This place is so damn close to being terrific, but they continue to miss by not having the small - but essential - things covered, backed up, and quickly fixed.

Family wedding

This apartment was exactly the accommodation needed for our family to stay in during the weekend of our daughter's wedding in London. It was spacious, light and airy, and the beds very comfortable with decent pillows. We would have liked to have seen some spare blankets as the duvets were very light. (I am sure that Reception would have provided these, had we asked). The large rooms were big enough to cope with a hairdresser, make-up artist and photographer attending to the bride and bridesmaids on the day of the wedding, and the kitchen adequate to cope with simple meals. The living room was comfortably and stylishly furnished.

Not very well maintained

My heating didn't work, no idea why - tried every combination possible. Reported to reception but the guy who fixes things had gone home (9pm - which was when I needed him!). It was not 100% clear to me at the time of booking that all the rooms here have only ONE bed. As an apartment, I actually expected 2 beds... which meant I had to book another room for my colleague and that made a 1 night stay in South Ken, extremely expensive. So be warned these are basically just bigger rooms all open plan, with a cooker... and downstairs there is no bar or restaurant. There was no bath in the room, just a shower. The light didn't work in the bathroom! Most unforgivable was that according to my colleague the rear view out of his room looked like a derelict shanty town. And even more unforgivable is that my lovely windows may as well have been made out of paper, because the noise that came through them meant that I got not one minute of sleep all night. And to add insult to injury, the TV was absolutely tiny... it can't have been any bigger than my laptop! Thinking that things could get no worse... the free wireless worked for about minutes in 10 minute intervals over the space of an hour... until after having made a complaint that was unresolved - I gave up.
OK I know I sound grumpy but I'm honestly not at all. For some context - I recently stayed on the top floor of a very very good hotel in midtown New York... not cheap by any means. But it was cheaper than Harrington Court, and the space was much much larger, better fitted, air con that worked, and I had a large separate living room with a 60" TV in it, and desk to work at, a meeting table, a large walk in wardrobe, and on..... I'm not saying this is normal, I'm just giving you guys sensible feedback on what most people pay for similar facilities. And lets be honest, New York is hardly cheap.
Basically, this is cheap accommodation that sounds better than it actually is. And its vastly overpriced. I've stayed in some superb hotels in London over the years (and apartments), and some crap ones, but this is the only one that has provoked the only negative review I have ever written.
Sorry guys, you need to seriously drop your prices, or get off your lazy backsides and do some work.

Could be good.

A very sterile apartment in a sterile apartment block.
Receptionist not interested in anything other than handing the key over.

Nicely finished but bare necessities at best. Very small.

If one is planning on doing any cooking at all be prepared to buy everything including salt and pepper. There is no sharp knife. The pans are limited. We bought one - a fry pan and then took it with us. The location is ok but on a very busy street. Avoid using the Piccadilly line and use the Circle or District. The Piccadilly line was filled to the brim much like the subways in Tokyo. We'll look for something a little more removed next time. LateRooms.com did not give us an exact address. This gave the taxi driver full rein to drive around a lot. Maybe LateRooms has a deal with the cab drivers. The staff was pleasant.

Frequentvisitor

We stayed at this serviced block of flats in June. I asked for and paid for a "quieter" accommodation and was very pleased with the result. This past experience was a bit different. Although I did ask for and paid for a :quieter" accommodation, i did not get it. The suite was half the size of my first stay. It was on the first floor and one could hear and feel the tube going to and from South Kensington station. The quiter rooms I paid for in June face inward, off of the street, however this experience found the bedroom on the street side with much more noise from taxies and busses.
I thought my first experience of a quieter room would be repeated, but it was not, and when I asked to be moved, there was no other accommodation available. I was not happy. One very good experience, one not so good. One needs to be very specific and confirm their room details prior to arriving.

Half hearted attempt at Self serviced Apartments

We booked this apartment specifically as we have an 8mth old baby and needed somewhere that was spacious and had the facilities to cook our own food. Unfortunately the apartment only had a few bits of miss-matched crockery and cutlery so it was near impossible to cook and therefore we had no choice to buy takeaways everyday which was not in our plan. The apartment looked much better online and looked as though they had recently been renovated yet filled with dated old furniture and furnishings.
